    Dirty martini and old fashioned
    Alexandra E.

Came for the views and drink and appetizers a really enjoyed our experience. We had a great table with a clear view of the sunset, great service and really fantastic cocktails ( dirty martini and old fashioned). We loved the coconut shrimp appetizer. The sauce was so delicious ! Would definitely recommend .

Yelpie photographer of the year for 2025 brought me here because she told me it was the best restaurant in Clearwater Beach. I rarely ever go to Clearwater Beach, but I'm going to go with probably not. We mainly came here for drinks, but got a few food items. We sat in the bar and it was your typical CWB tourists everywhere. I mean we're at a hotel so that should be expected. Up first, $15 smoked old fashioned. This was the best drink of the night. It was super duper smoky how I like it. Also, tried the $18 espresso martini. I wouldn't order it again. Lastly, had a $15 Spicy Monkey. I've been getting into mezcal and this drink was solid. For food, we tried the $14 bacon brussels. I love all of the bacon, but the brussels weren't charred at all like how I like them. Lastly, had a $12 creme brulee. It was fine, pretty standard. Overall pretty average, but we mostly had drinks. I get brussels sprouts at any restaurant where I see them on the menu. Wouldn't really come back here for anything.

The ambiance is cute. It gives old school classic vibes. I had high expectations for this place, but was very disappointed. Writing a review to hopefully help others not waste their time. If you're a foodie, this is a place you're going to want to skip. Everything from the food to the service was mid. Our server seemed like he hated life, so from the get go I was not confident about the restaurant choice. Fortunately we were not staying on property and the restaurant and staff in our hotel were amazing. We ordered sushi to start. The rice was cold and hard and the folks did not seem like they were made by someone who knows what they're doing. The fish was also mid. We ordered the ceasar salad, which was bland and dry-I'd skip this. I ordered the filet because it seemed the least likely to mess up. I would expect the steak at a restaurant like this to be amazing, but sadly it also was just okay. Not much flavor...I ordered it medium rare and it was on the boarder of medium. Overall it just wasn't a great dining experience and I wouldn't come back. I know options for fine dining are slim at the beach, but there are other places that have great service and delicious food, you don't have to settle. I want to end on a positive note-the cheese biscuits and challah bread were good! So maybe come for drinks and bread?

Wonderful! They have the best martinis in the area! The gluten-free bread is amazing. I had a sushi roll that was delicious. Our server was kind, efficient and really made us feel special. The view is the best on the beach. Highly recommend! 10/10!

Wonderful sunset experience with my hubby! Juan Carol was well-versed on the menu and quite jovial. Recommend the crab cake, the grouper, the 9 oz filet, and a mocktail. Skip the soufflé potatoes. The Cesar salad was larger than expected (see other pictures/comments), dressing was nice but too many crunchy toppings. Recommend going at sunset and making reservations.

Visited Caretta on the Gulf for my friends 21st and absolutely loved it! Tried carpaccio and a virgin watermelon drink that was recommended, very refreshing. I ordered a poke bowl as well as a dessert and they were beautifully presented. They lift the blinds up closer to sunset so you get a nice view and service was amazing giving a free dessert to the birthday girl. Definitely a great spot for photos too

First class experience - beautiful view, incredible service from Waitress Sam - and food and drink exceeded expectations. Cant go wrong with the Spicy Marg and Spicy Tuna Roll.

Wonderful food and service. Went for Easter Brunch and had Sea Bass Benedict, Macadamia Crusted Grouper, Lobster Ravioli, Pulled Duck Confit Spring Roll, Beef Tenderloin, Oysters, Sushi, and Mini Desserts. Tyler and Amanda handled our table and were both friendly, helpful in answering our questions, and very attentive despite it being very busy. We'll definitely be back!

My husband and I both ordered a medium cooked steak and both of them came out well done. We had an amazing waiter (Juan-Carlos) who noticed right away and was great about asking for one replacement for us to share. The replacement same out medium well, however also very close to well done. The side that came with the steak was also not very good. Will not be back ):

Gulf Grouper - roasted corn & poblano risotto, foraged mushrooms, artichokes, heirloom tomato, aged goat gouda, lobster béarnaise

With a desire to sit outside the reserved table took a little longer than expected, but that was okay. It was good to start at the bar and be called over when it was ready. Sitting outside on a Saturday night in April had the bonus of listening to the wedding party still going on full tilt below. The CAESAR - chopped baby romaine, shaved parmesan, tomato confit, brioche croutons, reggiano tuile, housemade dressing, to start was amazing. I have never had tomato confit like that before. Wow! For my main I had the Gulf Grouper - roasted corn & poblano risotto, foraged mushrooms, artichokes, heirloom tomato, aged goat gouda, lobster béarnaise which was perfect. Plus, I had a small taste of the CHILEAN SEA BASS - pan-seared, spaghetti squash, scampi butter also at the table. Though I still preferred mine you couldn't go wrong with either choice. Overall, from start to finish it was a great experience and service outside was excellent.

I was visiting Clearwater Beach to see the Phillies play in spring training and stayed at the Sandpearl Resort, which is also the home to the restaurant Caretta on the Gulf. Caretta on the Gulf is easily the best restaurant in Clearwater Beach and is one of the best dining experiences that I have had anywhere! In fact, it was so good that we went twice! The ambiance of Caretta' did beautiful. There is a beautiful view of the beach and ocean. If you come for dinner, you will also see the beautiful sunsets at night. There is indoor seating, which we sat in, but also outdoor seating. The food here is delicious. Every item that you get is guaranteed to be high quality and scrumptious. I had the Chilean Sea Bass and the Wild Mushroom and spinach ravioli in both times I was here and they were amazing. Fresh ingredients, served hot, perfectly seasoned and nicely presented. The bread they serve here is also very solid. They serve fresh and warm challah bread and cheese rolls. Very tasty! They also have a sushi bar here. Very wonderful! I had the bagel roll, which is very similar to the Philadelphia roll, and the surf-and-turf roll, lobster, asparagus with a thin slice of steak on the top. These were some of the best sushi rolls that I've ever had. Very filling, so don't get too many, though, or come with a big party. The waiters that I had here were classy, professional and attentive. One of my waiters, Devin, was very professional and nice. He knew the menu well and help guide us in the right direction. The waiters here are definitely well-trained and could be working in a nice New York steakhouse, but also balance their professional with the fact that this is a restaurant on the beach, so a bit more casual. The chocolate ice cream that I had here for dessert was the best that I have ever had. Extremely creamy with a distinct chocolate taste. The chocolate skillet cookie was also good, but it's massive! Be prepared to share. Altogether, I highly recommend Caretta on the Gulf! This is the best and nicest restaurant in Clearwater Beach. One if the best dining experiences that I have ever had!

My wife and I dined at Garrett's for the third time. Dane was our server and his professionalism and knowledge was very impressive. We had another of wine and ordered several starters to share. The bread they bring is the best I have had in any restaurant. Our experience was never rushed and enjoyed a beautiful sunset while dining on delicious and creative dishes. We will definitely return again.

How do I make reservations? The website isn't working.

You just call them on the telephone.

Is there valet parking for dining?

Yes! I made the mistake of not driving by and asking first and ended up having to pay, but they do have complimentary valet for guest who are only dining as well!

    What is the dress code?

How much is the Sunday brunch breakfast?

    $45 plus tax and tip

Does Carettas still do a Sunday Brunch buffet?

Yes. They offer the full buffet and bottomless Prosecco. It's amazing highly recommend! They did however switch from Lamarca Prosecco to another brand.

Do they allow dogs for outside seating?

Outdated answer but since people are still rude enough to ask-NO ONE WANTS TO EAT ON THE PATIO WITH YOUR DOG. STOP BEING SO ENTITLED-DOGS SHOULD NOT BE IN RESTAURANTS!

Is there a private room for a group of 13?

Yes there is a very nice private room that 13 would fit nicely.

We started with 3 orders of grilled oysters, 3 for $5 is still a great deal. The cajun seasoning and cheese on top made them incredibly flavorful and enjoyable. They were so good we basically decided to order a second batch the moment we finished the first. We also got the fried Brussels sprouts and coconut shrimp. The coconut shrimp was delicious with the sweet and sour sauce, and the brussel sprouts were just pure yum. We were so into the appetizers that we almost skipped entrees, but decided to share a shrimp po'boy. The shrimp was perfectly crispy, exactly what we were looking for. Overall, great location, great food, friendly staff, fast service, and happy hour makes it all that much better. Will happily return and recommend!

Salty's Review…read more Stopped in for lunch shortly after arriving in Clearwater since we were hungry and it was conveniently located right across the street from the Opal Sands Resort. When we arrived, the hostess initially tried to seat us in direct sunlight even though there were several shaded tables available. I asked if we could sit in the shade instead, and she happily accommodated us. Our waitress appeared to be the only server working, yet she did an excellent job keeping up with all of her tables. She was attentive, friendly, and provided great service throughout our meal. We started with the coconut shrimp, which were perfectly crispy and delicious. The only odd thing was that they were served on a bed of rice, which didn't really make sense with the dish. We also ordered the grouper po' boy, and it was huge with well-seasoned, flavorful fish. The crab cakes, however, were a disappointment. They were heavily seasoned with Old Bay to the point that it overpowered the crab. I actually had to scrape off the top layer of seasoning just to enjoy them. For drinks, I ordered an IPA, and we also tried the Strawberry Smash that our waitress recommended. Unfortunately, the cocktail was the weakest part of the meal. It tasted more like club soda with muddled strawberries and mint than an actual mixed drink, and it was surprisingly difficult to drink through the straw. Overall, Salty's is a solid spot if you're looking for a casual meal that's convenient and satisfying. The service was excellent, and a couple of the food items really stood out, but nothing we ordered was memorable enough that I'd go out of my way to come back. I'd recommend it for a quick bite, just don't expect to be blown away.

What makes this place unique? They offered Caymus Cabernet BY THE GLASS, which I have not found before, and I frequent higher end restaurants often. The spicy fish tacos are Mahi Mahi and a MUST if you like Mahi. I will only eat Mahi if close to the ocean, and it was great. No fishy taste, nice and tender. For mains I had the Birria tacos with onion rings. One daughter had the same. Great taste, but if I had to do it over I would get a side of salad or coleslaw as it was a lot of fried on my plate. That said, finished it all! My other daughter had the chicken Cesar salad and loved it. Chicken was very tasty. My wife had the grouper basket. She thought it was tasty and hit the spot. Service was not bad but not great. Just not friendly. Overall a great stop. Be prepared you are outside and if the weather turns you are on the hook. Also, no reservations so first come first serve! Go. Here.
