This is one of the nicest restaurants on Clearwater Beach. It's attached to the Sand pearl resort and is truly a five star experience. The ambience gives off a luxury restaurant and has a dining room and also a bar area. The view of the sunset is amazing! We started off with some sushi appetizers, which were delicious and the scallops were amazing and so tender. Then we had the watermelon salad which was delicious and then also the salmon which had nuts in it and was surprisingly a good combination. Then we finished off with decaf lattes, and the cookie and ice cream, which were so gooey and yummy. We had amazing service from the host to our server to everyone we talk to in between. I love getting drinks at the bar and just relaxing and catching in all of the water views from the bar top and blasting cold AC. It was a hot 95 out so I would definitely not wanna be outside and that humidity for a very long time. The crème brûlée was extremely off today, which is very rare. I've never had it like this before. It tasted very undercooked. The custard had a weird flavor like it wasn't fresh and the sugar crust on top. You could see that they were still crystals of brown sugar or something. It wasn't completely glazed melted all the way it was not like a glazed ice rink top. It was look like little pieces of hail on top or something. It was definitely strange for the sugar coating top. The fruit was extremely fresh. I do love getting extra fruit on top. read more

Yelpie photographer of the year for 2025 brought me here because she told me it was the best restaurant in Clearwater Beach. I rarely ever go to Clearwater Beach, but I'm going to go with probably not. We mainly came here for drinks, but got a few food items. We sat in the bar and it was your typical CWB tourists everywhere. I mean we're at a hotel so that should be expected. Up first, $15 smoked old fashioned. This was the best drink of the night. It was super duper smoky how I like it. Also, tried the $18 espresso martini. I wouldn't order it again. Lastly, had a $15 Spicy Monkey. I've been getting into mezcal and this drink was solid. For food, we tried the $14 bacon brussels. I love all of the bacon, but the brussels weren't charred at all like how I like them. Lastly, had a $12 creme brulee. It was fine, pretty standard. Overall pretty average, but we mostly had drinks. I get brussels sprouts at any restaurant where I see them on the menu. Wouldn't really come back here for anything. read more

The ambiance is cute. It gives old school classic vibes. I had high expectations for this place, but was very disappointed. Writing a review to hopefully help others not waste their time. If you're a foodie, this is a place you're going to want to skip. Everything from the food to the service was mid. Our server seemed like he hated life, so from the get go I was not confident about the restaurant choice. Fortunately we were not staying on property and the restaurant and staff in our hotel were amazing. We ordered sushi to start. The rice was cold and hard and the folks did not seem like they were made by someone who knows what they're doing. The fish was also mid. We ordered the ceasar salad, which was bland and dry-I'd skip this. I ordered the filet because it seemed the least likely to mess up. I would expect the steak at a restaurant like this to be amazing, but sadly it also was just okay. Not much flavor...I ordered it medium rare and it was on the boarder of medium. Overall it just wasn't a great dining experience and I wouldn't come back. I know options for fine dining are slim at the beach, but there are other places that have great service and delicious food, you don't have to settle. I want to end on a positive note-the cheese biscuits and challah bread were good! So maybe come for drinks and bread? read more

We had a 54th Birthday dinner at 5:30 pm and were told they cannot do individual checks for our table of 10 women !?! This has never happened to any of us ever. I don't know where to start with this place. My family (party of 9) walked in without a reservation and got lucky to be seated (with server Devin) at a large table in a spacious room with massive bay windows. The ambiance is classy but comfortable, and my siblings and I could not stop saying how much the building felt like a huge version of our parents' home. The menu is A+++ with top notch meat selections alongside sushi, salads, and a fabulous wine list. We got, in no particular order, filet with peppercorns, Chilean sea bass, rack of elk, and veal chops. All were great, but the filet was a true standout. If anyone you know loves huge, perfectly cooked prime filet mignon, this is your place. I wanted to take a moment to express how incredible Devin was. He knew the menu like a mf PhD. He knew every single detail and nuances answer our every question. Devin was also an amazing personality with perfect etiquette and manners. Visited Caretta on the Gulf for my friends 21st and absolutely loved it! Tried carpaccio and a virgin watermelon drink that was recommended, very refreshing. I ordered a poke bowl as well as a dessert and they were beautifully presented. They lift the blinds up closer to sunset so you get a nice view and service was amazing giving a free dessert to the birthday girl. Definitely a great spot for photos too read more

Sitting outside on a Saturday night in April had the bonus of listening to the wedding party still going on full tilt below. The CAESAR - chopped baby romaine, shaved parmesan, tomato confit, brioche croutons, reggiano tuile, housemade dressing, to start was amazing. I have never had tomato confit like that before. Wow! For my main I had the Gulf Grouper - roasted corn & poblano risotto, foraged mushrooms, artichokes, heirloom tomato, aged goat gouda, lobster béarnaise which was perfect. Plus, I had a small taste of the CHILEAN SEA BASS - pan-seared, spaghetti squash, scampi butter also at the table. Though I still preferred mine you couldn't go wrong with either choice. I was visiting Clearwater Beach to see the Phillies play in spring training and stayed at the Sandpearl Resort, which is also the home to the restaurant Caretta on the Gulf. Caretta on the Gulf is easily the best restaurant in Clearwater Beach and is one of the best dining experiences that I have had anywhere! In fact, it was so good that we went twice! The ambiance of Caretta' did beautiful. There is a beautiful view of the beach and ocean. If you come for dinner, you will also see the beautiful sunsets at night. There is indoor seating, which we sat in, but also outdoor seating. The food here is delicious. Every item that you get is guaranteed to be high quality and scrumptious. I had the Chilean Sea Bass and the Wild Mushroom and spinach ravioli in both times I was here and they were amazing. Fresh ingredients, served hot, perfectly seasoned and nicely presented. The bread they serve here is also very solid. They serve fresh and warm challah bread and cheese rolls. Very tasty! They also have a sushi bar here. Very wonderful! I had the bagel roll, which is very similar to the Philadelphia roll, and the surf-and-turf roll, lobster, asparagus with a thin slice of steak on the top. These were some of the best sushi rolls that I've ever had. Very filling, so don't get too many, though, or come with a big party. The waiters that I had here were classy, professional and attentive. One of my waiters, Devin, was very professional and nice. He knew the menu well and help guide us in the right direction. The waiters here are definitely well-trained and could be working in a nice New York steakhouse, but also balance their professional with the fact that this is a restaurant on the beach, so a bit more casual. The chocolate ice cream that I had here for dessert was the best that I have ever had. Extremely creamy with a distinct chocolate taste. The chocolate skillet cookie was also good, but it's massive! Be prepared to share. Altogether, I highly recommend Caretta on the Gulf! This is the best and nicest restaurant in Clearwater Beach. First of all, you pull up to the Sands Pearl Resort and are met by very polite and respectful valet personnel from the hotel resort. Then you walk into this amazing hotel. Walk towards the back on the right and find this five-star bottomless mimosas brunch. Some of our highlights were the spicy tuna rolls, caprese salad, New York strip steak slices, italian style steak rounds, eggs station, sausages and salmon. Oh, I didn't mention the ridiculously good deviled eggs... wow. It was all five-star dishes in this perfectly decorated restaurant. Elegant and beautiful- a must see. The brunch experience is a must-try if you're in the area. The assortment of food is a good mix for all taste palettes. The tops are fresh and tasty. However, for me, the star of the show is the spinach and artichoke dip. It is addictive and so creamy. The unlimited mimosas is awesome too. This was a big letdown for the price we paid. The steaks were overcooked, as was the snapper. The pork chop was cooked perfectly but it was incredibly salty. Our server was nice enough but looked like they had just rolled out of bed and had slept in the uniform. We were all pretty stunned. This is a review of both a dinner and a breakfast. We were staying at the Sandpearl so we tried both dinner and breakfast here. I heard that if you're here for less than three hours and eat here your valet will be comped. Otherwise it was $42. There isn't any self parking at this hotel, so moral of the story is stay for less than three hours. Dinner: Their bread basket is amazing. The cheese bread was the best thing I ate all weekend. It was amazingly chewy, as if there was a bit of tapioca flour in it. I'm not kidding when I say I ate three of them. For dinner I got the grouper with risotto. Weirdly, there isn't a lot of carbs on the menu (hence the reason I ate three cheese biscuits). There's a lot of spaghetti squash, but no actual noodles. That's why I went with the grouper, I wanted the risotto. After spending the day drinking at the pool I was ready for carbs. It was really good. At dinner the lights are low and there's a wonderful view of the ocean. We witnessed a couple getting engaged on the beach, I feel like that must be a common occurrence here. Breakfast: They have a breakfast buffet and a breakfast menu. After perusing the breakfast buffet, I decided I rather order off the menu. I got the duck menage a trois. It was so good, but a little too fatty for me. The duck confit was fried, so there was a lot of grease. I ended up leaving part of the biscuit. It's a lot lighter in the restaurant during breakfast. Overall, I think this is a great restaurant, which adds to the allure of staying at this resort. read more

Waited literally 20 minutes for drinks to arrive and that was the speediest part of the meal. 30-45 minutes to get appetizer then 30-45 minutes for soup - then 30-45 minutes for main - we were literally there for over 3-hours! We had reservations for 7:30 and were promptly seated. After 45 minutes we were able to get water. At 8:55pm we received our sea bass which stunk of amonia. Bad fish! Carlos the manager said he would take it off the bill but was indifferent. Never ever again. As I sit and write this post I am nauseated thinking about the overpowering smell of amonia and wonder how it made it to the table. read more
