After trying to find a restaurant in the area to accommodate a party of 20 Bonefish was happy to help. I spoke to Niko the manager. He was accommodating with making a special menu and giving us a semi private area. Our reservation got moved to another date by mistake but let me tell you Niko more than made up for the error. He stepped right in and became a server himself! He showed leadership, humility, poise under pressure. Everyone in our party commented how awesome Niko and the other server working with him were. Our food came out timely and sincerely the staff really were incredible. I attribute that to excellent leadership and creating a positive work environment where a manager doesn't think he's too good to work alongside his staff. To see a manager roll up his sleeves and work and help out staff and everyone working well together I will definitely be back. This was maybe the best experience from a bonefish I have had. Everything was steaming hot. Fresh. Not frozen. Obviously prepared within the same hour. Wow wow wow, how this place has changed. I know the pandemic has affected a lot of places but boy has if negatively affected what use to be one of our favorite restaurants! The fish, (Seabass and Tuna) were not fresh, which is what we always order from here so we expect better quality! The poor staff has changed almost completely, it's sad how inattentive most of them are now, we have learned to ask for Mikaela or Justin (the few remaining that have been there for years and give great knowledgeable service!) Don't even get me started on the Host stand. The management is a complete joke now, it use to be amazing two/three years ago! They absolutely don't care and it reflects in the way this restaurant is ran and how it's presented to the guest. They obviously are there to do the minimum just to get a paycheck... This location NEEDS help. We miss our old Bonefish, we will probably be taking this place off our lists for now sadly. read more

This place is in a really nice neighbourhood, so we thought we would give it a shot. It is in a row of shops, which is often where you find the hidden gems, and this is certainly one of those hidden gems. Upon entry we were greeted very warmly, and seated, where we wanted promptly. I wanted to watch the baseball so we sat near the bar, but the noise levels weren't high. Perfect. Our waiter was very friendly and recommended the mango salsa, so i tried it. We got talking and it turned out his wife was from England, and he talked to us for a while which is great, i like it when a waiter takes genuine interest in you instead of it being a ploy for a higher tip. Starters arrived, the scallops were very nice, perfectly cooked, just wasn't keen on the bacon. American bacon just isn't the same haha. The Sashimi was nice but not the best I've had in this area, so i would choose differently next time on the starters. The main courses arrived after a nice break. The grouper was wonderful and the mango sala accompanied it just great, the carrots (cant remember what glaze was on them) were also very tasty. The Fish and Chips were sensational, my friend had them and she could not stop raving about them. Good Fish and Chips coming from a brit is a good sign. Went to Bonefish Grill on Tuesday as there is a special menu that evening with good deals and we had a lovely meal on our first visit a month or so ago. Our server Dominic was pleasant, attentive, served us a delicious meal and offered us a glass of house wine/ or beer in place of dessert as this was an option in the past and he thought it was still available. It wasn't. I ordered a glass of Chardonnay and opted out of the dessert. Dominic stopped back at our table a little later (obviously uncomfortable) to explain that he had made a mistake and the wine would have to be added to the bill. We asked if he could explain the oversight to his manager Morgan since my husband is a diabetic, I had already ordered the wine and they both have about the same value anyway. Nothin' doin'!! Morgan never did bother to stop at our table, Dominic was very apologetic and seemed worried about what was in my mind a minor mistake that could easily have been handled by a capable manager (perhaps Bonefish Grill will consider hiring one) It was just an uncomfortable situation that dominated what would have been a pleasant evening. I frequent Bonefish so I was surprised to have this experience. Arrived late on a Friday, tables were available but it took us 15 minutes to be seated. Upon walking to our table I almost slipped, the floor seemed to have a layer of grease. When I questioned the host about the safety of such an environment, his response was there was nothing he could do about it. At 4pm it wasn't hard to get a table but this is not usually true as the evening goes on. John greeted us and asked about drinks, we decided to share a Shrimp appetizer, and only wanted water. He quickly brought the shrimp, water and tray of bread. There were 8 jumbo shrimp with 3 dipping sauces, definitely enough to share, at $12.90 not cheap but delicious. I ordered Rainbow trout with complementary mango salsa for $19.10. My husband had one of the "specials" for this evening mahi-mahi with macadamian nuts for $23.90. We like our fish well done, but he had forgotten to mention this. John took it back to be cooked more and returned it a few minutes later cooked to perfection. Morgan the manager came to our table later to see if everything was satisfactory. Each entree comes with two sides. There are 5 or 6 choices of sides and some upgraded sides for an extra price. We chose the house salad for a $2.up-charge, I had the Jasmine rice with my fish, be advised it's delicious Asian sticky rice not mushy Long grain rice. My husband had the steamed Broccoli and received a huge portion. We never felt our service was decreased because we didn't order drinks. We love coming to Bonefish to sit at the "bar" on Tuesday evenings to enjoy the great service and of course, the food and drinks! Did I say food? Simple as that for us, Bang Bang shrimp Caesar salad and Lemondrop Martini for my wife and a Gibson martini for me...I might add, the only place we have found in the area to properly make that Gibson...you know, the one with cocktail onions! We recently visited here for a special occasion dinner and was very much pleased with the food, the service and the atmosphere! My husband and myself both ordered one of the specials, which was black cod (sablefish), with a vegetable side and salad. We had also ordered the bang bang shrimp. As we were finishing our salad the entree came out and we hadn't gotten our appetizer yet. So they took our food away and our server, Amanda, immediately came over to our table and apologized for the untimely delivery of our meal. Right after that the manager came over and apologized as well and offered us a future bang bang shrimp appetizer and deleted the one we got, from our check. The meal was so good! We used to live closer to this area and frequented the establishment often, but forgot how good the food is! Had been awhile and really plan on much more frequent visits in the future! What a joke of customer service! Walked in (Valentines Day) to an empty Bonefish Grill and to our surprise it took about 3 - 5 minutes for the host to appear while about 5 waiters/waitresses were "chilling" in the back of the restaurant. Why is that (employees relaxing) significant? Well, when we FINALLY got seated, a couple who came in well after us was served first after another loooooooong wait! I had to ask 3 employess for the GM or Manager who finally came and to our surprise, once again, another "let down." She (Manager) was loud when addressing us and only asked us if we wanted water. What a waste of a time and HORRIBLE service! I DO NOT recommend this location, especially on a special evening. I've dined here many times and it's always been consistently good - I usually have a fish or one of their steaks. This last evening I decided to try a burger...Big mistake. I ordered it medium rare, and it came out well done. When the server who was very good, stopped by and asked how everything was, I just showed him my burger and he said "oh that's too well done". He took it back to cook another have another one prepared. And guess what? That one came out well done too. The chef does not know how to cook a burger so do not order any burger - they are crucified. It was dry, tough, tasteless. I'll go back, but never for a burger. read more

It's a chain restaurant, so there's that. Sometimes the food is great, sometimes it comes out sort of thrown together. If you complain to the manager, or have to send something back, they're very friendly and accommodating. Best thing on the menu, in my opinion, is the Tokyo Style Tuna. It's just seared tuna, but the quality of the tuna is always good and the sides it comes with are tasty. Also, don't forget to try the Bang Bang Shrimp - many restaurants have tried to copy it, but Bonefish has the best. Wednesday nights it's the special. I've eaten at this Bonefish about half a dozen times over the last 4 years (it was very close to where I lived) with various friends and family. The food has always been consistently good, and the service prompt regardless of the size of the crowd. As others mentioned, the Bang Bang Shrimp is worth trying for an appetizer. While others in my parties have been more adventurous, I've usually had the grouper (often blackened) or grilled salmon, always with good results. While there are a number of small, local, non-chain fish restaurants in Pinellas I prefer, Bonefish offers a nice place for a good meal entertaining small groups. Yes, it's a chain and I do support local family owned businesses however I will not rule out a good restaurant on the single fact that it's a chain. That being said, I think Bonefish overall is a damn good restaurant. I've been to several locations and have never had bad food or service. We enjoyed Sunday brunch at this location. Everything was VERY good from start to finish. We were seated promptly and our waiter was spot on with service. I drank 3 huge glasses of water and never once had to ask for a refill, he was right there. They have a deal for $19.99 you can get one breakfast meal (omelet, benedict etc.) and bottomless Mimosa's or Bloody Mary's. I think it's a great deal. Sadly, we had shit to do so alcohol was not involved for us this time. Next time, I'll plan for it! We both ordered the surf and turf benedict which was outstanding. It was hot, the egg was perfectly cooked and the hollandaise was rich and creamy, as it should be. I went with the potatoes au gratin and he got fresh fruit. Both good. I would not hesitate to order this dish again. A couple of things I will note: The English muffin was very well done, not burnt but it made it a little hard to cut all the way through. The steak was not seasoned. Again, just small details nothing to get my panties in a wad about. There were a couple of very large groups enjoying libations and each others company that appeared to be regulars as I noted some mingling between tables. The food was great, the service was poor. It was a rainy not all busy Saturday. There were maybe three other tables of people. Our server was pleasant just not good at her job. She spent all lot of time chatting with the bartender and wasn't attentive to the tables, no refills etc. The drinks are always strong and delicious however! The one thing that definitely needs to be looked into is how slippery the floor is. I'm not sure how someone hasn't gotten hurt yet. read more

I went to this restaurant on a very busy Friday night. I was able to make a reservation and because of this they got my family and me in within 5 minutes of us arriving. You could tell the waiters were extremely busy but our waiter still made to to take our order in a timely manner and deliver it quickly. I had a small child with me and he was good about bringing some extra good in advance to help appease my one year old. Actually, any time we needed something he was very quick. That made it so much easier because my one year old was quite fussy. Overall the service here was excellent and the food was good as well. My husband really liked his bang bang tacos... he is an extremely picky eater, so that says a lot! I had the fish and chips... it was tasty and hot. My one year old had a side of their fancy Mac and cheese and he seemed to enjoy it. My older son had the burger and said it tasted good too. read more
