It has been along time since we have been here. I regret I have not been here more after last night. The atmosphere was what I always would like to find on a night out. I won't talk of food here cause I don't think you get to be a place like Bonefish without good cuisine. What I will talk about is teamwork. Our evening service was provided by Chad. One that did not push us or more importantly, not stay in touch with us. It was not just him but the whole staff from the front end floor mgr to the buses and other wait staff. There was no situation where a water glass went dry, an appetizer or entree sat under the heat lamp or the endless delayed check waited for Chad to bring it. The WHOLE STAFF serviced our table leaving us not to want. The food was very good but my true compliment is to the emphasis on service and the attitude of the people who provided it. read more

It's a chain. It's in a strip-mall. But hey, this is Indiana. What are you expecting? I do give them credit for having Tanqueray Ten (a very good thing, considering the banality of their wine list). My last trip to Bonefish reminded me why I hadn't been there more than once or twice since they opened. I'm pretty sure the mahi - mahi I ordered wasn't even mahi and my husbands sea bass had zero flavor and was smaller than the ridiculous spoonful of au gratin potatoes he ordered as his side. I will say that my salad was good, probably the best part of my meal. Our bill was $85 and my husband only had two Makers Mark on the rocks that was more like a splash of makes with melted ice. We only went because we were given a gift certificate...only to realize when I turned it over we could have used it at Carabba's or Outback also...Although I am not a huge fan of chain restaurants, I am certain we would have had a more enjoyable meal at either. This restaurant is a favorite of my son and daughter in law. My wife and I have joined them twice for dinner. Weekend reservations are a must. The specialty is as the name implies. The seafood is amazingly fresh and perfectly prepared. I had the rainbow trout and my wife had scallops and shrimp. Our kids had salmon. Everything was fresh and delicious. The shared chocolate creme brûlée was the perfect choice to round out a delicious dinner. Tables were a little close, and every inch of the dining room was filled. This is my favorite area restaurant. I could eat there every night. The saucy shrimp makes my mouth smile. They have the best ahi tuna sashimi of any place I've tried. Very good! I went with a coworker. It was kind of early (5:45?) and we were seated right away. The place started to get crowded as we left. Our server was very good, she had just the right timing. I ordered the special which was Wolf Fish with some kind of creamy spinach. It was excellent. I wasn't crazy about the sides it came with (rice and something I was unfamiliar with) but in the name of eating healthy, I didn't plan to eat those anyways. I love this place. In an area of the country where good food is hard to find, I am thankful for this place! I love their bang bang shrimp. Their white tuna Sashimi app is also outstanding!!! If you like Seafood then there is no better choice in the south bend area. The sea bass and imperial longfin are 2 of my favorites! I came here for a date night and had a very pleasant experience. I called ahead that day to make reservations. I recommend making reservations if you are going during busy hours and especially on Fridays. We were seated promptly. The wait staff was very friendly and helpful. I ordered the Wild Orchid Hawaiian Martini, it was excellent! I ordered the special that evening, Spinach Bacon Gorgonzola Atlantic Salmon topped with sauteed spinach, crispy bacon + creamy Gorgonzola cheese for $19. I usually get my fish pretty plain so I thought I'd try something different. This salmon had all the trimmings, it made for an interesting flavor combination which I mostly enjoyed. The fished was cooked really well. I had a side of garlic mash potatoes. It was good but a little too salty. I think it is better to have less salt and let dinners add in their own to their taste. The meal also came with sauteed veggies like zucchini and tomato. The veggies were cooked Al Dente. My boyfriend ordered the Kobe burger, he is not a fish fan, and had no complaints. I also love the pesto bread dipping sauce and ciabatta bread they serve while you wait for your food. We had a really nice time and plan on coming back again soon. Reservation a must. Great for dinner and drinks. Place packs out. Staff is standard. Food is good. Expect to be there atleast an hour 20 minutes but the appetizer salad main course are spaced appropriately. The bill sneaks up on you but portions are good. Can't pass on the bang bang shrimp. I always really like my visits to Bonefish. Even though it's a chain, they're consistently on point with service, food and drinks. I had the mule last weekend and it was fantastic! Fresh candied ginger, quality vodka and crushed ice - so delicious. As always, the BB shrimp was great. I had the filet and it was cooked perfectly and cut like butter. My husband had the pork chop and he was incredibly happy with his meal. I always make it a point to eat here when I'm in town. It's one of the better quality restaurants in the area, IMO. read more

We celebrated a friend's birthday here and we had a wonderful experience. The place had a mellow feeling to it, especially with the candle. The waitress knew her stuff from how the food is prepared & all the ingredients in each dish. The manager was also welcoming & gave my friend a small box of chocolate for his birthday. The asparagus I paid $3.50 extra for was cold and bland for peak season. I got up to ask a waiter for something & was given a look as if I had the plague. How rude I was to even bother to ask! We loved the food. Got the hamburger meal and the stuffed tilapia which both were amazing. However, the waiter that we had was very disrespectful. We came to have dinner here with my husband's co-workers. When the waiter asked is this our first time, my husband's co-workers said that it was their second time while my husband and I said it was our first time. The waiter ignored us and directed his attention to my husband's co-workers. Hence, as the waiter continued his rude service, he asked my husband's co-worker what he would like to order, my husband's co-worker told him, "Let's let the ladies go first" as he was looking at me. The waiter looked at me and looked right back at my husband's co-worker and asked him again what he would like to order. My husband's co-worker repeated his initial response. Then, the waiter rudely commented, "It's the 21st century, I serve left to right and then, right to left." He disregarded the simple fact that my husband's co-worker was being polite and a gentleman that, we ladies, should be served first. Not that we expect it or feel entitled to be served first, it was just the polite and ethical thing to do regardless what century we live in. We're not sure what era this rude waiter lives in or how he strongly feels about serving ladies first, but he surely showed how he has no respect for women. I go on to say this that when the check came and my husband gave him our card, the waiter rudely made sure to hand me the card with the bill instead of handing it back to my husband. This waiter surely has women issues in his life and possibly treats his own mother and grandmother with disrespect to have the audacity to treat us women including at our table with such disregard and disrespect. Mind you, I'm no feminist and don't ask or demand respect or authority over men. My husband and I have an amazingly loving and respectful relationship and treat each other as equals, but my husband treats me like a lady as he as the gentleman. So, for us to get treated this way at what we call a five star restaurant, it was a very uncomfortable and discriminating experience we ever received anywhere. read more

I have had an excellent experience every visit to this place. There are more in other cities, but this one has been one of my favorite. My wife and I celebrated our 46th anniversary here. It was great! Robert waited on us and the service was excellent . The seared ahi tuna was presented with Jasmine rice, mixed Asian veggies, wasabi and soy. Cocktails were well made. The meal was affordable considering the price of seafood in the marketplace. I went to the Sips and Sampling Brunch today. I had attended other similar events at Bonefish so I expected the brunch to be like those. Although the food was excellent, I was very disappointed in the seating arrangement. Instead of sitting at tables in the bar like usual, we were stuck at a communal table with everyone attending the event. I would not have gone had I known this would be the seating arrangement. We went to have a date without the kids and we couldn't talk to each other without at least seven strangers listening in. The restaurant was virtually empty so the seating didn't make sense. It actually hindered service and timing of service, which was slow. I won't go back to an event like this again. Waste of time and money. read more

Not usually a fan of chain restaurants but this one has the feel of a locally owned business. A little more elegant than most family restaurants but not pretentious. Range of prices was good. Our server, Rachel, was great! They are opening a restaurant in Minneapolis (Rachel will be here to train the staff) and it will definitely be on our list of places to go. read more

Bonefish is one of our regular dining places where we meet with friends for a good dinner. The only thing that is not topnotch is their margarita. The manager explains that they make their own mix instead of using a standard. And he kindly offered to replace mine even though partially consumed. Well, the 'tipsy' glass is clever, but it doesn't make up for the poor taste. I must remember not to order one when we visit. read more

The Bonefish Grill is a great place to eat at if you are on a date or just a special occasion. I do not, however, suggest bringing small children due to the atmosphere. The majority of the customers are adults. The Service is always very good. I have been to Bone fish Grill many times before. And yet, it has not yet disappointed! As a 13 year old boy I have not traveled a lot, nor do i not know anything about fine dining or 5 star cuisine. Bet yet I find the Bone fish Grill is One of the more fancier dining places in South Bend, Indiana. Lets face it there's no Food Network chef's restaurants here, and this is probably the more etiquette dining place in South Bend. It did not disappoint nor has it ever. The only time we ever were unamused was when it was fully packed and we had waited about 30 minutes, and decided to go to the TOYO grill next door. The food takes a little time to be delivered, but it is always worth it. It is a rather quiet restaurant so you may want to think twice about bringing small children (the restaurant still has high chairs) so if you bring small children bring something that may interest them. Now some children may not like Creme Brule or Coconut Pie, so there is a Coldstone Cremery just a short walk away. Anyway, Bone Fish Grille is a great place but if you go you HAVE to try the "Bang Bang Shrimp" but come on Bang Bang Wednesday's were it is only 5 dollars. It is a fried shrimp in an spicy, orange sauce. It is the greatest apetizer or Entree in the whole restaurant in my opinion. I even saw a 3, maybe 4 year old toddler eating it like it was candy. I would recommend it to anyone in the South Bend, St Joseph County area. I only gave it 4 stars because sometimes the wait is a little to long.
