If you're going, be prepared to wait (and wait and wait) for the waitresses to organize themselves...it was not clear if this place is table service or if you're meant to order at the counter. Despite having both waitresses come to our table, they never made it around to asking for our order (which happened at adjacent tables). I finally gave up and ordered at the counter and the waitress seemed surprised that neither she or her compatriot had taken our order. ‍ Water must be scarce in these parts because they don't easily refill empty cups. Despite asking twice. Here's the good: everything is made from scratch, so I did anticipate a wait. The pastry we ordered (which didn't have a name) was divine. Not overly sweet but full of delicious, layered flavors. The Croq Benedict is hands down one of the best Benny's I've ever had. The richness of butter and the perfectly poached egg made every bite almost wash away the horrid service. Almost. No matter how good the food--and it was fantastic--a restaurant with poor service standards makes for an unlikely return visit. The space is rough, too. It has potential, but it's overwhelmingly loud and seating is limited. My husband and I dropped by on Sunday morning for a hot cup of coffee and brioche breakfast sandwich. The breakfast brioche sandwich comes with fried egg, however I request scrambled eggs and it was delicious! The French sure know how to make scrambled eggs!! The coffee was also fresh and delicious. Finally stopped into Bonjour Cafe for a late brunch and so glad we did! We started off with a Lavender Latte and a green hot tea. My husband ordered The Giant French Hot Dog and I had The Baked Honey Goat Cheese. We both polished every piece of our delightful meals. The baguettes were soft, flaky, and delicious! This is such a cute, little cafe off Kingsland right by the school & the United Methodist Church! My husband and I had never been before, so we weren't sure exactly what we were in for when we entered the building. However, we were greeted very warmly by two ladies who passionately exuded their knowledge about the menu. Everything from their handcrafted desserts, their coffee, and the Croc Benedicts we had we delicious. The desserts themselves were the perfect amount of sweetness to where it didn't overwhelm and you could really taste all of the flavors notes perfectly. Such a different experience from other venues we have been to. My husband and I were especially impressed by the hollandaise sauce, which was a perfect blend of flavor and texture. I hate to write poor reviews for small businesses, but I feel like I would be doing the owner a disservice by not saying anything about my experience here this past Sunday. We tried to order a couple of breakfast sandwiches for breakfast. No croissants? That's okay, it happens. We change our bread order and get iced teas to go with our breakfast. Iced tea takes about 10 minutes to get to our table. The place was full, so once again.. it happens. Takes a good 30 minutes to get our food after that (eggs? really?). Everyone is short staffed these days, so of course there are delays. Annoying, but this also happens. Food finally arrives. All wrong. I ordered an egg, bacon, cheese and tomato sandwich on a baguette. It comes out on a ciabatta roll with no bacon. And 50% green tomatoes. And no bacon. The eggs were scrambled in the most horrible fashion I've ever experienced. They had the texture of cottage cheese, but somehow even more flavorless. Girlfriend's sandwich somehow came out on a croissant. Which was doughy and undercooked. Not sure where the communication breakdown came from, but we won't be back based on too many negatives on our first experience. The extra star was for the nice staff. We ordered two French Toast for breakfast through DoorDash and this is what came to our door. We called and spoke to the staff to confirmed that we got the correct item and not someone else food. The chef said he replaced the bread with some other bread so that's why it looks like that. We had a bad experience at Bonjour Cafe. There was a big group that arrived after us. We waited for our food for 30+ minutes while other people including the big group got their orders served. We do understand that being busy delays service sometimes; however, the owner instead of being apologetic about the delay, argued with us when we inquired about our food, and told us that it didn't matter who got there first!! At least "acknowledge" the customer waiting for a long time, and explain graciously that the food will take longer than usual! A little attentiveness goes a long way. I now have read other reviews in which customers were not happy with the wait time as well and the cleanliness of the place. And yes, the coffee, which we did have, is lukewarm. I agree with all that. So we left and had a very nice meal at Harvest Kitchen & Bakery instead. It's just four minutes away. The food there is high quality. The chef/owner came to our table to check on the service. If you expect not only good food, but friendly service as well a certain amount of attentiveness to the customer with your dining experience, then go somewhere else. There are other places out there where you'll have an all-around better dining experience, will feel welcomed, and will want to come back. read more

A coffee and a water for myself , coffee for my mom, juice for my son. She returned a while later with coffees and the juice, no water. She then asked if we were ready to order and we were. I ordered the morning eggs and my mom the veggie crepe. I also asked for some ketchup at this time for my son ( he's 2 and autistic so I had brought him food from home I knew he'd eat) It took forever for our food to come out and when it finally did , there was still no water and no ketchup. I asked a third time for a glass of water and a second time for ketchup. After another 10-15 minutes I finally got the water and ketchup. The food sounded delicious and with the prices I expected it to be amazing.... I was very disappointed. The food I got didn't even have everything that was in the description, no bell peppers or tomatoes.. not a huge deal, it tasted fine. Not amazing but still good . My mom didn't like hers that much. The worst part is that I was ill the rest of the day. Something I ate there made me sick . I wouldn't recommend this place for these reasons. Well the taste exceeds the photo. It's topped with a poached egg- for those that want it ! It can come on a croissant with the avocado spread, a huge slice of a Wonderful mozzarella then a sauce of a balsamic reduction. Topped with the Poached egg. You will cry Viva De France!! So good. However, the size of the kitchen hampers the orders and whether or not the food is HOT (instead of warm). Expect a 30 minute MINIMUM wait time for your food (order for 4) if there is more than a table; our order of 4 took nearly 40 minutes and only 1 item was hot. Also, don't hesitate to ask for items on the side to control the "sweetness" level which can be quite high. read more

The green salad was tossed in a homemade French vinaigrette that was delicious. Not usually a fan of vinaigrette, but that was great!
