Honestly for $80 gel x new set you would thinkbyhey offer cuticle care, the lady said its not part of the service, like how are you doing my nail bed and not working on my cuticle, I found her a bit rude as well, she finished my nails and didn't even offer lotion on my hands, just said "I am done" and went to service the next guest. I walked out with my hands ashy and dry more so after she had soaked off the old nails in that acetone like liquid. I really want to like this place... my daughter and I have gone off/on and while it's beautiful inside, there isn't anything special. This recent trip rubbed me the wrong way and you won't find me going back. My daughter wanted a gel x fill and polish with a design and was sure to get a quote as she had a budget and only so much money. The girl who quoted her said $35 total after my daughter asked about gel x fill and showed her inspo picture. My daughter wasn't even serviced by this girl who quoted her and ended up with someone else who was unable to do the requested design, and then was being asked to pay $70 at the end of the appointment. When I questioned this, they said that $35 was for the design and that a gel x fill is $50. I was really confused then as to why the service was $70... the math doesn't add up. That aside, the fact remained that my daughter was quoted $35 for the total service. When she seemed shocked by the price, I stepped in. The girl who quoted her came over and was very rude and said she did not quote that and that she gave two price quotes... one for the fill and one for the 'design' which as I said the nail tech who completed the service was unable to do and gave her something else. My daughter was polite and said that was not what she told her. The nail girl just smirked and walked away. At this time, I was left standing at the counter while the receptionist who was going to charge my daughter and the original nail tech walked away. I had to ask for a salon manager or someone to help me and their only solution was to charge my daughter $10 less. So rather than $70, they charged her $60 after quoting her a total of $35. Needless to say, I will never be going back to this place. I don't know if they thought they could pull a fast one on my daughter, but I'm not sure what they would've done had I not shown up during her service to pay the difference. My daughter knew she could afford the $35 quoted price, but she didn't have $70. This is unacceptable and poor business practice. I've been there a few times because it's convenient, but reading through the other comments here, they are correct. You're lucky to get greeted when you walk in even with a receptionist sitting right there, sometimes they seat you and you wait quite some time without anyone saying 'We'll be right with you' or any acknowledgment for that matter, and then you have to know that the price on their brochure doesn't include all the extras. It's a shame because there are a few great techs there. My advice would be to get several quotes and if one person quotes you but someone else completes the service, be sure you ask again!! The customers are sometimes awkwardly waiting and the employees don't seem to be too pleased to be there. I've been here a few times for a pedicure and every time I mention I don't want gel (only nail polish), they always ask if Im sure, sometimes try to convince me to get gel, and after I insist, they'll rush through the pedicure as if it's a waste of their time- today's literally took 20 min. So I found Bonjour Nail Bar on Yelp and stopped by around 5:30 on Monday and was seated right away by May, who was also my nail tech. She removed my acrylics like a pro! So fast and smooth, I was really impressed. Then I opted to get dip nails and chose a pretty nude pink color and I really love how they turned out. Very clean and simple, just the way I like them. I learned that they have only been open for one week! So it felt good to support a new local business. Dip nails came out to $45 for a set and she included my removal in the cost. May was friendly and a very skilled nail tech, and I will definitely be back again. The salon decor is super chic. Very clean and modern. I didn't get a chance to sit in the chairs for a pedicure but I will have to next time for sure! They look really comfy. Today I paid $25 for a regular manicure and didn't even get the full service. No lotion, No massage, and left with a broken fan to "dry" my nails. He did a very thorough job and even worked on my corns (most times no one notices them). I chose the $37 pedicure which I felt was priced fairly for the work that was done. Tried out Bonjour Nail Bar after I couldn't get into my usual nail salon (last minute appointment). Although I enjoyed my services today, the menu is a little confusing. I asked for a combo package for gel mani/pedi, and they couldn't do it cuz it's really for natural nails. I asked if I could add gel, and was told no. So ya, separate mani/pedi with gel. Again, everything was great, but kinda felt jyped on my services. There was nothing boujie about it. Again, still great, but very basic. I asked for one service, but didn't get that. The technicians were very nice, lots of mail colors to pick from, and the salon is very pretty. Not sure I will be back, but at least the gel mani/pedi came out good. Gave me mediocre service. Left the towels placed on my kegs during my pedicure, finished and migrated to my manicure and I had to ask her to take them off (they were cold)... Tanya's response was, "Oh they're cold hah." Tanya finished both mani & pedi, without any verbal communication ... no "thank you or come back again,." I've been coming here for over a year, sporadically for 2, and have gone to Jen the last year. Although she is constantly late, always double books me, is always doing someone else's nails when I show up, etc. I have always given her the benefit of the doubt because she's always apologetic and is human. Well, today, the day after Donald Trump was elected, I go at my 12:00pm appointment, and not only is everyone extremely rude to me, asking me in a confrontational way if I have an appointment and rudely telling me to sit down, but Jen is doing someone else's nails and tells me it's going to be 30 minutes. When I ask if I can run an errand and come back in 30 minutes, she tells me she won't have TIME to do my nails, as someone who had a 12:00pm appointment, she told me she wasn't going to do my nails because she was with an appointment and had an appointment too close to when she'd be done. And the worst part is, she wasn't even a little apologetic about it. She did not say sorry, and when I expressed how mad I was and left, all she said was thank you. I want to be clear that not only is this disrespectful, it is racist. Because of who was elected yesterday, she did not see a reason to accommodate my nails or show me respect, because she didn't feel like she had too. This is extremely disappointing as someone who has been a paying customer for over a year and has always tipped generously. I have done nothing to be treated in the way that the staff and this salon has treated me, and if you have any sense of morality, you won't go here either. Also, I 100% cussed Jen out, and I'd do it again. To the Salon -- I hope you know that without Black women, you wouldn't have a business. On the morning of April 12, I had a delightful rendezvous scheduled with Jessica for an acrylic fill at the early hour of 10 a.m. As I arrived promptly, I proceeded to check in as any responsible client would. To my surprise, the receptionist informed me that my nail technician had been switched to Angie. Politely, I corrected her, pointing out the confirmation of my appointment with Jessica on my calendar. However, it seemed as though my words fell on deaf ears as the receptionist appeared baffled and unwilling to admit her mistake. She simply brushed me off, looking disinterested, until the manager intervened. To my dismay, the manager excused the lackluster behavior of the receptionist, who seemed to lack any motivation or enthusiasm, solely focused on her own nails. She moved sluggishly around the salon in her loungewear, paying no heed to the needs of the clients. Even when the manager, Jennifer, attempted to rectify the situation by fixing my half-done, crooked nail, she nonchalantly brushed off my concerns, promising to do better next time. It became evident that this establishment exuded an air of arrogance, gossiping about clients in their native tongue, assuming we were oblivious to their conversations. Needless to say, this is not a place I would recommend nor wish to revisit. Beware, for they may be discussing you in their native language while you sit there unsuspecting. It might be wise to use translator app for your next visit. not to mention being overcharged for a basic pedicure which shows on their catalog $29 and $40 acrylic fill which shows on the digital confirmation screen. I was charged $107. also the nail polish chipped and started peeling after three days horrible service and old nail polish. The appearance of the nail spa looks luxury however, they provide mediocre service. Do yourself a favor go somewhere else. read more
