Falafel platter with all the fixings and the Nutella cookie because...life's short.
Marlene M.

Bonn Boni is a staple of the Ballston lunch scene, and after 4 years of working in the area, I am just discovering why there is always a long line. The falafel platter is worthy of a round of applause. A very reasonable (especially by Ballston standards) $8 will buy you six freshly made falafels alongside a generous mound of basmati rice and a mixed greens salad, all topped with their homemade sauces and aiolis. The textures and amount of flavor packed in this little dish is amazing! The garlic from the falafels and the aioli; the crunchiness and buttery taste of the homemade - or at least what I think are homemade - croutons; the sweetness from the corn; the cardamom in the basmati. Man! And everything comes together just beautifully. Absolutely, one of the best dishes you'll have from a food cart. And then there's the Nutella cookie. The owner recommends heating it lightly for the chocolate and Nutella to melt inside. There's no better sight that splitting one in the middle and watching all that chocolate-hazelnut-ty goodness ooze out (cue moaning sounds). It's easily the best food invention created, and even if you don't think so, it's the perfect indulgent ending to a great meal. The only reason this isn't a 5-star review is because I was mistakenly overcharged as if I had substituted quinoa for rice on my platter (I would never do that, for the record).

Who knew this little gem would produce perfection!

Okay, so I think it's appropriate to give this food truck 5 STARZ. I knew the food had to be good, because there was a huge crowd waiting on their food..... 1st off the cookies they put out for customers to sample were maybe top 5 I've ever had (very strong statement). I ordered the chicken shwarma sandwitch. I wanted the platter (but they ran out of rice). He sandwitch was sooo good. The meat was marinated (I could tell by the flavors). I love the roasted veggies they add. They also put 3 different homemade sauces on it, which all three were amazing! I will definitely be back .... a hidden gem in Ballston. I may even double back again tomorrow.

My all time favorite food cart in Ballston area during lunch time. Every time I see this place I immediately walk that direction to order before there is a line. I always get either the Jolip, or a shwarma here with lamb meat. The lamb is amazing, and I love that you can get your order with quinoa. I like to think that I am eating healthy when I'm here lol. The dish also comes with decent helping of vegetables, and there's about two servings in one order. It's almost impossible for me to portion the serving as I typically end up eating the entire bowl in one sitting =P. I will definitely continue coming here every time I see the cart =D. P.S. Their cookies are to do die for! I only got a bite in from a friend, and it was enough to end my cravings.

Pop up truck is incredible! Best falafel I have had in DC, and don't miss out on trying their homemade croutons/garlic sauce. So so so good!

Chicken Shawarma

I've got to give credit where credit is due. Decided to give Bonn Boni another shot and they did not disappoint. Ordered the Chicken Shawarma sandwich which was outstanding! The pita bread was fluffy and delicious. They put plenty of chicken in the sandwich, along with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, cucumbers, and 3 different sauces. The sauces seemed to compliment each other really well together in the sandwich. All the ingredients tasted fresh and flavorful. I must have finished my sandwich with 5 minutes of sitting down and could have easily had another. Sandwich is definitely much better than the bowl. I will be back!

One of the best food carts in the Arlington area! Love the sauces, especially the white gold!

Bonn Boni is one of the best food carts in Arlington! They often have new menu items and different seasonal toppings. They even make their own sauces--the white gold is my favorite. It's so great having Bonn Boni for lunch because it's consistently good and their quality is always top notch.

Iman was an absolute pleasure to work with! The cake looked and tasted amazing; and definitely made the event memorable. I know where to go for my future cake needs, and will certainly recommend Bonn Boni to everyone!

Some of the best food truck eats in the DMV!....And, giving huge serving portions "ain't never hurt…read morenobody!" After pondering over the usual lunch options, I decided go on a food truck excursion for lunch today. On any given day, just outside the office, there's always several food trucks making their rounds in the Arlington-Ballston area. Luckily for me, Over the Rice decided to show up! Over the Rice seems to have a cult following. As soon as they tweet their location for the day, you can bet there is a line of folks waiting to partake in their fare. This I know, because every time they are anywhere near my office building my coworkers run for the doors during lunch like a cow herd. And, I see why! The food is always fresh and the flavor is there. This is my fourth time visiting this truck and I can attest one thing for sure....the food and taste is consistent....actually, really good. You pick your choice of meat(s): Steak, Grilled Chicken, Lamb, Pork and there is a vegetarian option as well. Then, the assembly of a great meal begins. If you are indecisive like me, they offer a combo meat option which is usually my go to....Chicken n' Steak or....when in the mood to change things up....the Chicken n' Lamb! One word...its "HittinNStickin!" The meat is so tender, juicy...and most of all seasoned! It is served over rice (yellow basmati rice), of course and comes with a side salad and two quarter slices of pita bread. The food is more than enough to share...in my opinion. The finisher that makes the food a hit....is the Tzatziki sauce ANNNDDDDDD this spicy kind of sauce I can't seem to put my finger on it! But, whatever it is.....make sure you order extra of both!! lol THE GOOD IN A NUTSHELL: Overall, you can't go wrong with this food truck! Fast friendly service, fresh tasting, flavorful food, good portions, and you don't get a sense of bad food handling practices like some food trucks or feel like you are going to need a pack of Tums to alleviate the bubble-guts...after consuming it. Nothing but a thumbs up experience and clean operation here. THE EIGHT BALL IN THE CORNER POCKET: The long lines are the only down side, but look at it this way...."good things come to those who wait"....besides, if there was no line then that may not be a good sign for sure! lol

This food truck, though, has. What to get: whatever she gives you. That's not just for this truck but general advice for life. Amazing service from a woman that really cares and will stuff your box (so to speak) full of all kinds of crazy wild food. The service definitely gets a 5. The prices and food are a 4. They are good but not amazing. You get a ton of food, including meatballs and drunken noodles and all sorts of other weird stuff. It's all good but none of it was like, omg wow I can't wait to come back. The Thai Tea Bubble Tea was pretty yum, but the bubbles in it were not so fresh at all. I'd have enjoyed it more if I had ordered it without bubbles. Overall a great experience. My first food in DC after driving non stop from Pittsburgh, where I had just driven to from Buffalo. A crazy long drive which ended in me eating a ton of food from this truck and so it will always be a really positive memory for me. But if you've already tried it and enjoyed it, then I just Sang to the choir. Wheeeeeelllllls... I better be going. I have to talk to my friends from Ireland, Scotland, and Wheels.

Separate baggie came with your sprouts, jalapeno, and some amazingly fragrant Thai basil! I of course got some of the standard Sriracha and fish sauce to add as well! The pho hit the spot for sure!
