I have a pair of Weekday Warrior work pants and a suit from Bonobos and they are my absolute favorite. The fit is the best fit I've ever had from any pair of work pants. They have 4 to choose from (tailored, slim, regular, and athletic I believe), and it has a slight stretch to it. Good for pigging out after work! When I bought my suit online, I had ordered the wrong fit and wanted to come in and try the various options to ensure I got the right one for an exchange. I did a walk-in (you can set up an appointment) and was blown away at the customer service from Scott. He offered us waters and was extremely helpful, and genuinely wanted to get the perfect fit for me, spending a good amount of time doing so and offering great recommendations. I came back for a friend for his suit a year later and Scott was there again and was just as awesome he was the first time. Prices may be a little high, but if it's within budget, I cannot recommend the brand enough - and the customer service that comes alongside is undoubtedly a huge plus. read more

I have been a customer with Bonobos for over four years and they consistently deliver excellent quality, fit and service. Recently, I had an issue with my wardrobe of weekday warrior pants prematurely aging and everyone at the guide shop was completely understanding and did more than enough to make it right. I'd like to specifically shout out Sona, Eddie and Lucas for their phenomenal customer service skills and for helping me get this issue resolved promptly. Nice clothes poor customer service! I have several pairs of the bonobos chinos because they fit very well without needing to be tailored. I called and informed them that my chinos were in great shape and I liked them very much but the proprietary button snap closure broke and I wanted info on how I could purchase a replacement. The only response I got was "have your tailor fix it or we can help you select a new pair of pants". Yes I get it my pants are old and I don't expect you to give me a lifetime warranty but I expected bonobos to have a way to purchase replacement snaps. Same thing happened to my descente ski pants and they shipped me new snaps the next day free of charge. I expected more from bonobos. read more

So Walmart bought this company and, based on this fact alone, I should have known to avoid. Went in last Tuesday and was assisted by the manager Sarah who was nice enough at the time. As others have noted, you will not walk out with anything, they only have "try on" pieces. The suit color I wanted was not avail in my "try on" size so I tried on another jacket color in the same size, cut, etc. so I could obv see what it fit like before ordering. Fit well, not too tight, not too loose, really minimal altering required. I needed a travel suit and this was perfect. Sarah even mentioned how nicely the suit gave me room as I needed that particular feature since I was traveling. This relevancy of this point will come into focus shortly btw. Bought the jacket and pants and left. Suit arrived FedEx a few days later, packaged well, no problems there. Tried on with wife present. Pants fit fine, just like in store. The jacket, however, was beyond tight. I went to scale and verified I had not gained 20 pounds in less than a week. Seriously tho the jacket was ridiculously tight, nowhere close to the fit in the store. So, I trekked back to Fashion Island this am (Sunday) and lo and behold Sarah was working. I thought, "Oh this will be easy." I explained my issue with the jacket, put it on and said, "I don't know what happened, it fit so well in the store." Instead of immediately agreeing with me, however, Sarah started babbling about "mechanical stretch" fabric and other nonsense. I felt my blood pressure tick markedly up and a vein in my forehead start pulsing. I politely replied that unless I wanted to deal blow in 1992 Miami the jacket did not fit me by any reasonable measure. I was amazed she was, apparently, attempting to say the jacket fit. So, I looked at her and asked point blank, "Wait, are you saying this jacket fits?" She kinda hemmed then said no but it was the equivocation that was baffling and infuriating. Compounded by her saying the jacket I tried on was actually different than what was ordered. Wait, what? Dear Lord. I was entering aneurysm territory at this point and was ready to just return the lot and leave and mentioned that to her. Sarah (to her and their bare minimal credit) said that was not a problem. Because sometimes I hate myself and do destructive things I actually elongated this experience by asking to try on the "exact" jacket I could expect to be shipped to me. Ya know, so I can receive the exact jacket size and fit as I tried on in the store. What a novel concept! Of course, it wasn't available in the store. At this point I just wanted to be sucked into a different dimension so I said, "you guys really should have all your styles available in the store for try on to avoid this type of scenario, just refund all of this." She promptly processed my refund and I left. The entire experience was a massive s*it show. If you want to learn how not to run a clothing store most definitely stop in Bonobos. Otherwise, avoid this place at all costs. read more

Wish I could leave no stars. Ordered two shirts, one came in about a week and the other I got an email that said it was cancelled. Then I get an email stating they are sorry, their inventory system was off and they do have it in stock. I said that was fine and called for them to re-order to ship the stock item. Two weeks later I ask where my shirt is and they say they are having warehouse issues and deliveries are delayed. What? They said they would get back the next day on answers. Didn't get back when promised and now got back to say it's still now shipping. Really disorganized company for premium pricing products, I can see why they have a dark outlook when googled. Would not recommend anyone buy anything from them. read more

I'm a fan of Bonobos -- my brother is a big fan of their pants and shorts, but I was really blown away by their customer service. After shopping online, I accidentally shipped his birthday presents to my old address! I realized this at 10 pm, and found out from UPS that only Bonobos could correct the shipping address. I sent a message to their "Ninjas" and got a response back at 11:40 pm saying they had fixed the whole problem! Crisis averted, and can't wait to receive the package. As an online merchant, they haven't figured out how to let people purchase in store. They should have tablets for customers rather than making them use an awkward laptop if they're still shopping. CS agent should have the laptop if needed. Also, if people are bringing things into the dressing room, they could be adding those items to a cart so you don't have to have this long wait afterwards. Also, they were out of their only size of the pants we needed to try on. Good thing they give Free Lagunita or Kona beer or else I would have thought shopping there was too confusing and weird to go back. read more

Awesome experience with Matt Turnbull helping me purchase some gifts for my husband. I told him about a trip to South Carolina and specific attire needs. He helped me to find a perfect blazer, shirt and pocket square. I felt really great about his suggestions and how well he considered likes/dislikes and what I was looking for. The proof came when the items were received and he loved them. Presently each item has been worn multiple times and they were perfect for the trip. We will return. read more

Cool clothes, cool store, and cool idea. The style of clothing is very hip, great colors and prints that are tailored so they feel like one of a kind pieces. You are paying for quality garments that are made to last you a good amount of time. And while this is a men's clothing store, I actually found a shirt I loved and got it for myself while shopping for others. The material is so soft and breathable, I couldn't pass it up. Staff is extremely helpful in answering any questions about the different pieces, alternatives, styles, etc. Great fashion advice/suggestions makes the whole shopping experience enjoyable. I would highly suggest Bonobos for the guy on the go who doesn't have a ton of time to be trying on different things. They take your measurements, see what fits, and then there are multiple options for colors or prints you can choose from and it's all shipped to your home. All of your sizing info is kept on file so getting something new is a breeze. Plus, you get to sip on a cold brewski while your shopping... Doesn't get better than that! read more

Bonobos has it figured out. Trying to find good work pants as a guy can be tough but with the selection and different cuts they offer its pretty easy. Basically you find the fit, size, and color then just choose how many you want and they're shipped to you. So far they've had all the sizes and selections I need which is pretty rare when getting work clothes. Also, the in store experience is great as all the reps I've met were nice to work with and actually helped me find pants I want rather than sell me what they like. Bonobos was cutting edge . . . Ten years ago. Now, they're owned by Walmart and the whole feel of it all has changed. Their fabrics don't seem to be as good as they used to and their business model has been perfected by other companies. Compare the shopping experience at Bonobos and then walk across the path to Suitsupply. Very different experience. Their Italian cotton shirts are great. Customer service has been good, but for the money, not compelling anymore. read more

I have been buying Bonobos pants and shorts at another retailer for a while now. I went to their store for the first time and I was say I found the process itself a bit disappointing for one major reason. The good. The customer service rep was very pleasant and helpful. They have a larger selection of clothes than the other retailer. The bad, which in my view is pretty bad is that after you find your sizes, they have to ship you the goods. From my view point this concept sucks. I don't know any other way to describe it. Living in southern CA traffic and crowds are a problem. End of story. When I go to a store vs ordering online it's a choice. I usually choose online. And when I buy online I get it that it may take a few days to get my merchandise. When I hold my nose and go to the store I want and expect to leave with the merchandise. Unless they are out of my size. With Bonobos I feel like I got the worst of both world. I held my nose to go to the store, yet It has taken almost 6 days to get the goods? That's a major league fail in my eyes. I have no problem paying a good price for a good product. But when I pay a good price, then have to wait 6 days after making the effort to go to the store, to receive that product, I hate that idea. Also, for what they charge if they are going to ship the items how about over night shipping? It's not like I did not pay for it and you are obviously saving money by not holding in store inventory which should pay for the upgrade to overnight mail from standard snail mail. So I view that as, the customer comes 2nd. Again not a good view. Sadly until this practice changes, if I choose to buy Bonobos in the future it will not be at their store, but at the other retailer who always seems to have my sizes. also rounded up to 3 but calling it 2.5 stars...this bad practice cost them 2.5 stars in my view. read more

I own a few pairs of Bonobos chinos that I purchased from Nordstrom and they fit very well. I fit them off the rack so never have to do any alterations. I purchased another pair from Nordstrom again and knew exactly my size so I didn't try them on. When I looked at them at home, I noticed that their proprietary snap button was loose and came off. That tells me that it was never done correctly to begin with. I took them back to Nordstrom to see if I can exchange for another pair. Unfortunately, the color I wanted did not have my size anymore. The alteration person at Nordstrom doesn't have the right machine to repair the snap button. They said it's from the manufacturer. I like the color a lot so decided to hang on to them and see what I can do. I took them to the Bonobos store and told them the situation. The tags and everything were still on which means they've never been worn. The gal told me that since I bought them at Nordstrom and not their store, the pants are owned by Nordstrom and they have nothing to do with it. I said well is has your brand on it so can you try to help and send it back to your shop and see if they can fix it. It's a proprietary snap button that can't be replaced anywhere else. She said no there's nothing they can do with a blank face as if too bad. I said they have terrible customer service. She said no we have amazing customer service just not with merchandise bought elsewhere. Well that was a dumb comment! The customer service at their store level is HORRIBLE!!! If only they would go the extra mile to take care of customers people would return and shop there again. If they had professionally taken care of me I'd would definitely go and shop there. Now, I will never set foot in their stores again and will tell other people about it. read more

Great fits and styles. It's annoying not being able to take an item home after trying it on and liking it. I know it saves them the hassle of operations management for stocking the store and maintaining inventory. It's something you care about or you don't. I just go to Nordstrom and check out their Bonobos stuff so I can bring it home the same day. read more
