First time at Bonrue and the food looked amazing. The sandwiches had great flavor, but the bread was way too hard for my liking. Sea salt vinegar chips were excellent, and both the cheesecake tart and fruit tart were delicious. Ambience is cozy, staff are super friendly, and service was great. Prices are a bit high, but overall, worth a visit. Only downside was the bread so that's why I'm giving it a 4 star. read more

This is the best bakery in Hurricane! We came here two days in a row because it was one of the best shops in town that open at 6am and still have a wide selection of items available that early in the morning. Both days we arrived when they opened and got breakfast and also lunch to pack as lunch on the trail for the day. The service was incredibly fast and the same lady who helped us out was very kind. She even wrapped out sandwiches that we wanted to save for the trail. The tabernacle croissant was my favorite item I tried during my trip. The vanilla bean custard inside was incredible and magical. I never loved a pastry item so much in my life. I wish I got it again the second day. The almond croissant, vanilla kroughnut, and vegetable quiche was also amazing. The cinnamon roll was good but I thought the glaze frosting on top was too sweet for me. The egg salad sandwich was delicious although the croissant sandwich part had a bit too much everything bagel seasoning which made some bites very salty but I still very much liked it. For lunch to-go, I got the chicken salad sandwich which was just heaven after being halfway into a hike. Best croissant sandwich ever. This will always be my morning stop before the start of the day when I'm in the area. read more

Drove by this gem on our way into St. George on Friday & then stopped on our way out on Saturday. Even though hubs & I were full from our earlier meal, I purchased these 2 beautiful cheesecakes for a later treat. Boy, am I glad we stopped. These cute little gem is just that, a GEM! Cute bakery with a wide variety of pastries and some sandwiches. It was hard to pick just one thing. The folks were so friendly and helpful and we even had quite the discussion about which was better - Coke or Pepsi. They serve Coke products! If we lived closer, this would be a regular stop for me. Was visiting the area and went on a Saturday morning. They have great service and a friendly staff! I ordered my boyfriend, a cold brew coffee, which he loved. I ordered myself. The banana fosters latte, which is really delicious. I will be craving that from now on! I also got the egg salad sandwich which I really loved. This is an absolute hidden gem. 100% must go if ur in the area. Beautiful bakery, modern look, quick service, and tons of workers. The baked goods are all filled to the brim. Something posing as a cinnamon roll (was supposedly fresh baked 5 minutes ago) came out on a plate and it was so cold and dry, I could've used it as a hockey puck. I couldn't even cut it with a knife. I give a 2 star for service as that was good. The drip coffee was so stale, I'm not sure when it was brewed or if the air pot just needed a good cleaning. Facility was clean and everything presented well, but if a bakery cannot produce a simple ooey gooey cinnamon roll, it would be hard to trust anything else. I've been a baker for 25 plus years. Yes, I'm quite certain ... is this not your togo box? It holds the driest overcooked sticky bun I've ever tasted. I really didn't want to knock a star off... but let me tell you why. My family and I loved the display case, many choices of coffees/beverage to choose from, clean restrooms and very "coffee-shop-modern-farmhouse" aesthetics... good food. Coffee was decent. BUT staff needs better training on allergies. Every single item that I've ordered, I've specifically asked if there were nuts inside. She said no to everything besides the chicken salad sandwich. I told her my kids are allergic to nuts, is the reason why I'm asking about nuts. (I also work in the industry, so I understand you HAVE TO disclose everything). Well when it was time for boxing up our food (which idk why it was boxed up when we wanted to eat it there). She had boxed up the chicken salad sandwich in an extra large box; she tried to put my kids' pizza in the same box as the chicken salad sandwich. I told her MULTIPLE times that it cannot touch bc of the pecans in the chicken salad sandwich. She then proceeds to TOUCH my kids' donut with the same glove she touched the chicken salad sandwich, to put in the same box as chicken sandwich bc she "couldn't put the pizza in that box"... I had to physically pull the dessert box out of her hand and tell her AGAIN, my kids are allergic to nuts, please do not put the chicken salad sandwich with the donut and cheesecake... I was told by a friend that this place was a 'must stop' while in Utah. If you're nearby one of their locations a 'must try' is their Kouign Amanns!! You cannot leave the shop without trying one or maybe three of their signature pastry. Lots of delicious options from pastries, to pies, to sandwiches, I don't think you can go wrong. There is two Farmsteads, one near Zion national park and another near Hurricane. Some pastry restaurants look very authentic but don't taste good. Farmstead nails it in the head! The pastries are a work of art, absolutely beautiful and they taste authentic (for an American who has never been overseas). I went here two times in my four day stay near hurricane and I wish I went more. Their drinks are delicious! For someone who hates coffee and tried their coffee in desperate times it was perfectly sweetened and delicious... rare to say. Their pastries are crispy and light and have some surprising flavors depending on what you get. The almond croissants have almost a marzipan filling in the center, which is delicious(makes it on the sweeter side). Their apple fritter should be named world famous apple fritter, and is must try. The sandwiches are fresh and savory paired with fresh mozzarella and their baguette. Overall this is a must stop place in hurricane. It's fast and opened for most of the week. I recommend early in the morning when everything is fresh and there are lots of options to choose from. read more

My boyfriend and I are from Wisconsin and traveling the west coast. I found this bakery since it was close by our hotel and I came in with high expectations, and left VERY happy. I ordered a lot, the BLT- phenomenal, chewy only becuase of the baguette, the mozzarella really brings it all together. The fruit tart was delicious, not too hard and not too soft, full of flavor. The chocolate cookie was delicious and huge! The strawberry croissant was delicious as well. we got the carrot cake slice, nothing too special about it in my opinion, not bad at all, to me just taste like regular carrot cake. All of the food really exceeded my expectations-I've been to France a few times and would compare their pastries to French Pastries which is difficult to achieve. Last but not least, I got a brown sugar, cinnamon latte, iced with whole milk, added vanilla and got vanilla cold foam as well. It's very good, can't taste much cinnamon which I like because I think it can be overbearing so I think it's the perfect amount, I work at a cafe and this latte was delicious. I used to just die to get to Farmstead the minute we drove in to St. G. But not so much anymore. Most of the pastries are bland. And the servers behind the counter used to be friendly. The last time we were there the guy serving me didn't speak except to tell me my total. And he scowled the entire tine and I was quick to tell him what I wanted, so it's not like I was taking too long. They also ignored my friend for a good couple minutes until she asked "can someone please take my order?" Okay Hurricane location! The cheese cake here, at this location specifically is absolutely the best cheese cake I've ever had. Phenomenal, I'm SUPER impressed. Cheesecake is never my go to but here, yes I would certainly order the cheesecake and all four family members agree. The second best item at this location is the ham and cheese croissant, we asked them to heat it up which they did and I would give it 10 stars. We've had our share of these around the world and this one is outstanding. We popped over to the St. George location the next morning bought 3 cheesecakes and two ham and cheese croissants thinking it would be the same and it wasn't. Not very tasty at all. I also snagged a couple chicken salad sandwiches at the St. George location but they didn't have much chicken salad in them......I did enjoy the guava cheese danish from St. George farmstead and ordered another the next morning. So delicious both days. The strawberry rhubarb pie had a nice punchy flavor which I like and the mozzarella, tomato, lettuce, bacon on a baguette was lovely as well in Hurricane. Coming from California, I had this place on a "must-stop" list and I'm so glad we visited!! We arrived 4 minutes before opening and the staff welcomed us with smiles and let us know not all the food was out and ready yet. April, one of the workers was the kindest soul ever. She showed us every food item of what was about to be layed out and apologized for not being ready (we didn't care, just happy to be there!). She recommended her favorites to us, to which we bought and holy moly was she right. We had a chocolate croissant and a buttermilk style bun with crusted sugar and it was AMAZING. Their food is so light and doesn't have that heavy greasy feeling that many American pastries have. This review is mostly for April, we will definitely be coming back because of the welcoming atmosphere and yummy pastries. read more

Wow. Just wow. We must have looked like kids in a candy store as we stared into all of the offerings. The yogurt parfait was absolutely perfect. Then got some pastries and sandwiches to go for our day up to Bryce. Chocolate almond croissant was maybe the best I have ever had. Chicken salad sandwich, very good. Turkey Swiss sandwich also very good. The ham and cheese on baguette was good but a little rough on the roof of the mouth with the baguette being kind of dry and hard. Some people hike, knit, bowl, race cars, or some other type of hobby. Me? I try every coffee shop I can. They always earn bonus points if they have great pastries. I've been to nearly every coffee shop in Salt Lake, Utah and Davis county so of course on our road trip I had to try Bonrue. They had something for my husband who doesn't do sweets, my teenager who is picky, my baby who is just learning to eat, and of course myself and my high standards for coffee and pastries. This will definitely be a place I go out of my way to visit in future trips. Very cute atmosphere - modern and clean. The pastries were delectable. For savory, we bought a ham and cheese croissant and a St. George sandwich. Warmed up everything was melted and flaky croissant. So good. The sweets were a guava cheese danish, pistachio kronut, and pumpkin pie donut. All were unique and more flavorful than we could have hoped for. 4 of us had everything polished off in less than 10 minutes and were fighting for last bites. If you are anywhere near here, stop.
