Came here as a pre race meal the night before my big 100 miler race. We showed up and waited to be greeted and seated for a bit. The town was crazy busy in general with multiple events happening over the weekend so it was not a problem to wait a little. We got seated and then a server made their way to us after some time. I ordered a spaghetti and the server let us know it would take a little longer than normal but tp our surprise it was only going to take 15/20 minutes which was not bad at all! Overall it was busy but they still made it a point to get everyone situated and food coming out. At first arrival, super cute! As I walked inside and patiently waited, there was a father of four in front of me! And no one behind me after about five minutes or so people started coming in at that point in time me and the father move over so the waiting area could be filled with people out of the cold! At that time, your employee tayla got off the phone and started taking names to seat people! She asked the father of four overlooked me and went straight down the line! Not a problem I went up to her and corrected her, letting her know that I was next because society obviously couldn't correct the situation! I don't know why people go out in public and if you're not next to be courteous and say hey, I wasn't next. Learn respect folks.! After I politely let her know that there is a line of people she again overlooked me and seated 4 people ahead of me! When she decided to seat me, I asked for her name and at that point in time she apologized for what she did! I sit down. I order coffee, eggs Benedict pancakes! over easy eggs, slices of bacon, orange juice.! The eggs Benedict was disgusting. The hollandaise sauce was sour and the potatoes weren't even cooked and the pancakes were thinner than a hair on a chining chin chin so now after I get served with poor customer service, I got served with poor food. !! We eat with our eyes first, followed by our nose and lastly to taste. Rooster Run is on a main street connecting locals, tourists, and traveling business people (truckers and sales) thus it's popularity is because of location and alternate selections. Eggs, sausage, potatoes, and a single pancake was just food on a plate. The only decorative, appealing addition was the scoop of butter on top of pancake. The coffee was so-so. The syrup containers, small and slight drip drip on the pour. A sliced chicken on a salad was blah. The chicken was the same color of the lettuce. Nothing to see here folks. Seating was prompt for a Sunday morning, while parking lot was full. The ambiance? It's a diner. Staff dress looks like they rolled out of bed, dressed in black and added an apron. There were too many negatives. Cook should have paid more attention to how plates were to be presented with food looking it's best and being the center of attraction. Too many fails to make this a return visit. Travelers? Drive a little further. Owner. Do better. Not ready for prime time. Customers deserve more attention to the food for their hard earned dollars. read more

Went for a late breakfast. Food was okay. I had eggs and bacon and my husband had an omelette, which he said was good, plenty of fillings. The hash browns were not well prepared. He had lemonade which was pretty gross. The service was incredibly slow. We waited over 30 minutes between ordering and receiving our food. The table next to us received their food, ate, paid, and left before we ever received our meal. The waitress checked in with us only once during the entire time. If you have a choice, go to Main Street Cafe. Unfortunately for us, they were closed today. read more

We ate here a couple of mornings since it was right across the street from our hotel. It's a cute little place with amazing pies behind glass and small items to purchase, ala Cracker Barrel. We were lucky to be served by Carol, who is a true professional and so nice. She steered me towards the Corned Beef Hash, which is a favorite of mine and theirs is house made. It delivered! I prefer mine a bit crispier like they do in Oahu, HI, but that's on me to not order it that way. In fact, many regulars were ordering things to their preference (extra crispy bacon, crispy hash browns, etc), and the kitchen honored every one of them.. We visited on a Thursday at 10:30 AM and waited 25 minutes for our food. Our server explained the delay by mentioning that the other side of the restaurant was full and they had two new cooks, but she offered little in the way of an apology--mostly just justifications when we inquired. The food was just okay. There was no ketchup at our table (though the table next to us had some), and there was no salt or pepper on any of the tables. I also find the prices a bit steep; I ordered the breakfast burrito, which usually comes with a side at other places, but here it came alone. Stopped got breakfast on out way back from Kanab UT to Las Vegas NV. Ashley our server was great and one of the friendliest and attentive that we have had. The food here was also outstanding with a hugh menu selection. This restaurant was also amazing clean. As someone that doesn't eat meat, I was very surprised at their menu. There are many options for me & I appreciate that greatly. Living in a meat world & traveling is not fun a lot of the time. If you eat like I do, you know. We ate here twice while down here for baseball this weekend and had we stayed longer, this would have been our choice everyday. We come down this way a lot for baseball & softball and this quickly became our new favorite place. It was pretty hard to find a place open on Sunday in a town that doesn't have much to offer to begin with, so we were pleasantly surprised by how much we liked this place. Their menu isn't very big, but they do it well. I got the banana nut flapjacks, the flapjacks were fluffy and flavorful. I was surprised they actually had a lot of nuts in them. The banana was perfectly ripe and fresh. Presentation was simple but in a good way. The service was great, fast without sacrificing quality, we were well taken care of but didn't feel like they were hovering. I would say their pricing was pretty fair as well. So I ended up getting this 2 days in a row, as we were in a rush. Day 1: the burrito was bomb. Super tasty, the salsa was fantastic, all around great flavor. The side of hash browns was overflowing, not over cooked, very tasty. The iced coffee was ENORMOUS. Thrilled with it. Day 2: it took an extra 20 minutes on top of when they said it would be ready. It seemed somewhat busy, so I'm not counting it against them. The food, though, which I picked up immediately and was eating within minutes (in the car) was bland, overcooked eggs in the burrito, and the salsa was completely different. It was like... chunky pase picante whereas the day before it was the more fine, restaurant style salsa. Bummer. The ladies at the counter were rude, snarky, and condescending which was a bummer. We were quickly greeted with a smile and welcome as we came through the doors. I felt like I had walked into a country diner in Montana, where I am from. With barn wood on the walls and farm decor everywhere. I was ready for some scratch cooking. They are generous in their drink serving sizes for juices, sodas, water, and other. This is a welcome difference from other places. We stuck to traditional breakfasts but had to try the banana pancakes. The banana is on top so you could have it without, but it was filled with candied pecan pieces and was light and fluffy. It was my favorite part of the breakfast. Poor service from the very start. The host just grabbed 2 menus, walked us to a table and said, "sit here" . No "hi", no "welcome", and no asking if the table was okay. We then waited 20 minutes before anyone came to take our order. 25 minutes later, we still did not have our dinner but the table by us was given their food even though they walked in after we had ordere. When my husband brought up that we had been seated 45 minutes ago the waiter just said that he Would bring out our food when it was ready ( we had ordered a French dip and a Rueben sandwich), after waiting for our sandwiches for over 30 minutes and sitting in the restaurant for over 50 minutes we left. read more

Stopped in and ate at this Cafe after a day at Sand Hollow. I had the biscuits and gravy, and it was delicious. The servers were nice. While we were there the computer system was down and the employees were running around doing it old school. They kept up and the quality of food was not sacrificed. My boyfriend & I were passing through the city from Zion back to our hotel in Bryce Canyon.. struggling to find food past 8pm on Thanksgiving, but then we found this little family owned diner! The wait was long, but SO WORTH IT. They had an amazing thanksgiving dinner that day, and so many other regular options. Honestly, the portions were HUGE! We were shocked (coming from California) we're used to paying $16 for a meal the size of my fist.. so it was a nice change to get a $16 meal that was bigger than my head!!! The overeasy eggs were literally the best I have had as it was cooked to perfection (I ordered a belgian waffle with 2 overeasy eggs and 2 sausage links). I sampled the steamed vegetables which was also cooked to perfection (sampled them off my Mom's liver & onions plate). My Mom, who has been eating liver & onions for decades) also commented that the liver was cooked perfectly, apparently a very difficult feat. I'll take your word for it, Mom.... Hats off to you, sir, whoever you are. I should have asked for the name of the cook that the wonderfully warm & courteous waitress Amy H said has been working alongside her for over a decade.
