I wanted to get out of my bubble and remembered Launch. Hadn't been there in a year and it was a nice homecoming. Plenty of outlets, cranking A/C, and a surprisingly great patio with protective umbrellas on those hot summer days. I asked the baristas if they'd make me a cold brew lemonade and though confused by my request at first, they obliged! Later in the day I ordered an Americano and it was hot and soul soothing. Unfortunately, I do have to give some criticisms on the food I had. Shantytown ($15.50) // Chicken breast, bacon, baby greens, tomatoes, ranch, brioche bun. This simply was not good. The chicken was dry, the greens were dry, hell the bun was dry. For $15 (and no side!) this was a slap in the face to all the great chicken sandwiches out there. There's a chance they forgot the ranch dressing. If they didn't they were just very stingy with it. The bun kept tearing apart as I ate. It was just a really disappointing eating experience. Next time I'll walk over next door instead to grab a bite. I say all the above in hopes of them reflecting on the current menu and hopefully making improvements. I understand pricing is insane right now, but you still have to execute and deliver. And for a coffee shop that I highly doubt is making everything fresh to order (even the bacon was precooked and reheated) there has to be a better way. Food aside, come here for the vibes. Crowded in the morning, emptier in the afternoons. A solid place to work remotely or bring the family. Love how they serve cocktails, beer, and wine too!

Plenty of bicyclists visit. If you're going to buffalo bill's grave/museum, boettcher mansion, or anywhere else on lookout mountain, then this is a must-stop. Even if you're not hungry, spend some time here. It'll be worth it. The selection was not as enormous as some other places throughout Denver, but the items they make are absolutely delicious. I had a smoked cheese baked into a split bread, and it was so good. We also got a citron tart, an apple tart, and gorgeous. All satisfying. The coffee... I didn't expect it, but it is top-tier coffee. I ordered the americano, and it was bursting with complex flavors. It wasn't just chocolate or burnt or, god forbid, dirt. It was more than just a diner coffee. A real coffee nerd would appreciate this coffee. I should have asked where the beans were from. Honestly wouldn't be surprised if they got it from one of Denver's top roasters. What a treat. We'll be back for sure.

So refreshing to hear that authentic greeting since I worked in Paris, France. The place is big and airy, similar to a warehouse. Everything is made on-site the day of. I opted for the pomme de Tarte (Apple tarte) and the olive baguette, which is Amazing! They told me that the baguette dough takes a few days to rise and sit. So it takes three days to make it. It tastes chewy and a little hint of sourdough taste, so good! It brought me back to Paris! I'll be back to try coffee and other things on their menu. I also noticed they sell the famous tea du marriage frères. I think if they offered a light lunch menu like Niçoise salad or croque monsieur it would be nice.
