They have different areas for kids to play, 2 Lego tables to play, different walls to put Lego and other wood sticks to put into the wall, a "sand" box which has small wood blocks instead of sand, lots of activity toys and overall many rides and toys to try out! They also have a supermarket and kitchen area for creative play. The other part of the play universe is arcade games and mini rides for kids from small to older. The space is really trippy with the UV lights and the music playing on the speakers was kid friendly. There's imaginative play spaces, like a diner, grocery store, and even a classroom for kids to touch and play to take a break from the obstacle course. My high energy 4.5 year old loved crawling, climbing, jumping and sliding all over! I had to coax him to come out to take a break for some water! He didn't stop smiling the whole time! There's a little cafe/bar for drinks - hot and cold - for the adults with pastries and cookies too! There's free water jugs to keep the kids hydrated. Once the 1 hour for play was over, we transitioned upstairs to the party room, which was big and spacious for everyone. Plenty of seating and ledges to lean on. The staff had this place running seamlessly and kept everything moving without us feeling rushed. The only thing to note for children that have sensory processing concerns, is that the music is a little loud and there are strobe lights. They all seemed really happy with their jobs and the owners were there, welcoming us since it was our first time. We had an orchestra from NYC play every Saturday night starting at 6 PM for the little kids, teenagers danced to records, then the band came back at 10 PM for the adults. We participated in all sports. My first kiss, first beer, first dance all happened at Cedar Grove. We lost our house in 1992 to a strong storm, and I understand the entire beach was decimated during hurricane Sandy. Of all my life long memories, Cedar Grove Beach Club is my most favorite, sacred of all others. I cherish those summers.

I am also so happy that Wheeler park welcomes everyone from all over NJ (and elsewhere). Coming from out of the county will cost you a bit more, but not much. If you live outside of Union County it is $4.00 for kids ($2.00 in county) and $6.00 for adults ($3.00 in county). This splash pad has every water feature a kid could ever need - from bigger twisty water slides, to a small dragon water slide. Also, water guns that you can shoot each other with, a pirate boat, water shooting up from the ground, and much more. My kids spent a little over 2 hours here and had an absolute blast. We've been here about 3 times and it never disappoints. Just be sure to bring some sort of shade covering. There isn't much cover at the splash pad so we usually bring our small beach tent with us. There is also a dry playground in the splash pad gated area where kids can play too. They have staff who help keep the kids safe and to make sure everyone goes down the water slides safe and sound. I highly recommend Wheeler Spray Park on a hot summer day.

The place itself is very nice and clean for the kids, however, the owner of the place is extremely stingy and cheap. We did various group play dates and she would charge us $25 a child and only give one pizza per child! And when a child would ask for more she would say "oh we usually only give one slice per child" seriously with $25 I could get two full pies of pizza with toppings. Wouldn't do a play group at this place again just from how stingy she was. At least offer two slices per child. Spent $75 for three kids for less than two hours of play and left hungry and had to feed them again right after. And to note it wasn't even a full New York slice pizza ( it was cut in halves). read more

Boomkidz has become my daughter's favorite place to go for open play, so of course she wanted her 7th birthday party there and it was a hit. Ms. YElena and the staff are friendly and accommodating. Everything for the party was taken care of and the decorations exceeded my expectations. My adult guests were happily surprised and comforted by how clean everything Was there. The rooms are spacious and so much for the kids (and even adults) to do. The party host had high energy and did a fantastic job entertaining and including all of the kids while also making the birthday girl feel special. Here are the reasons why I wouldn't bring my child here. When I first visited (2021 spring time) I went for an open play class. Upon walking in no staff is wearing a mask or asked for vaccination cards (FINE, I'll wear my mask and try to make sure my child isn't near other adults). The front desk person told me I could join the ending of a class (bubble time). So I went in and my child enjoyed the bubbles and crawled all over the place. Now here is where I am at fault. I didn't realize till maybe 20 minutes into my free play class that at no point at the end of the first class that they came in and rotated or cleaned the toys! So not only do they not clean between classes - they do not require anyone to wear masks (I am talking adults here, I don't expect children to wear masks). My child is still small that he is putting things in his mouth. Not to mention I saw older children doing the same. So these toys need to be either rotated or cleaned between classes. I called my husband to pick me up immediately. Forget about COVID! There is other viruses that can take out children! I recently tried to give this place another chance because they offered mommy and me classes. I called to see if they would at least require masks and they told me they don't and they don't look at vaccination cards. So that's a easy NO for me and I will not be going. I know I probably sound like a crazy mom right now, but I found other places on the island that when I walk in it smells like Lysol and they require adults to wear masks and be vaccinated. Very disappointed in Play Lala.

Every time I called or spoke to someone, they were so kind, willing to answer every question I had and assured me that everything would be perfect. They were right. The space for the carousel is for 50 people because that is how many chairs they have available. We had over 50 people there and you never felt crammed or squashed. There was SO much space. We had entertainers come and they had room to set up and put on their shows as well. They park provides 6 rectangular tables for guests to sit at as well as 3 other tables that could be used to food, gifts, favors..etc. The carousel operator ( I wish I would have remembered her name) was amazing- she was so kind and attentive and even gave the baby a t shirt! The staff working at the concession was also so helpful in letting us unload the food and drinks prior to the party start time. A special thank you to Emily who really went above and beyond to make sure everything went right. The weather was perfect too and it helps that the entire carousel section is covered so even if its hot outside, it was nice and shaded. Our guests were raving about this party for many days afterwards. We even had many native Staten Islanders who had come there for the first time. They will definitely be returning. I want to have every party there from now on.
