This is a neat gourmet hot dog restaurant with a large outdoor area where dogs are allowed.

We stopped in on our way home from Christmas Shopping for the best $5 Old Fashioned in the area. We sat at the bar and service was excellent. My wife hadn't seen the Christmas decorations so it was a treat for her.

This place was really good. Very big variety of foods to choose from and from what we picked, we weren't disappointed. We sat outside and even though it was a little breezy, it was still relaxing, even better, this place is dog friendly!! The only thing that was mediocre was the service, not the happiest waiter, but not angry. Overall I highly recommend Boonedogs as a delicious restaurant

On a lovely (Saturday) evening we were ready to wait.... but got lucky with to seats at the bar. Katie was bartending and keeping up well on a busy night. A Lions fan with a nice personality. She took our simple order... asked what was our choice of a side... which we assumed was included... but no. Sides were extra$$! My yummy bratwurst was $14.00 seems a bit high priced. Slaw an additional $5.00 Beers $7.00 too. Long wait for the food... big crowd. Consequently the brat and burger and fries were lukewarm warm at best. Brat dressing was great but hot would have been a lot better! With high prices we will be very careful ordering if we return. Like the place but big jump in prices since our last visit.

Since my last update they have really expanded and improved their menu. They have added Wings, which are deep fried and delicious! I highly recommend the Blackberry Habanero BBQ sauce for a slow, mild sweet heat that builds up until it is hot when you get to your 10th wing. The Country Ham and Swiss sandwich is good and tonight I tried the Grilled Pimento Cheese Sandwich. I have to say that I am not a fan of their pimento cheese or their beer cheese. Maybe they will change it someday. I love their fried bologna now and they have improved it quite a bit since the early days. It is excellent.

I came here for the first time with my fiancé and my brother while they were both in town to visit me for graduation! We went to Ravens Run and had a great hike, it only made sense to get delicious hot dogs afterwards! It was quite busy since it was a weekend day, so just be prepared to wait almost an hour before getting your hot dogs. Our server was very friendly and apologetic when our meal started to take a while. The hot dogs were epic and totally worth the wait! The ambiance was like a fun outdoor picnic where kids are running around playing while the adults are chilling/eating food and snacks while the kids tire themselves out haha. Overall, a novelty spot!

First I want to point out the good. The location is fun. You get to sit out side on pic nic tables that are spread apart anough that you are not crowded with other people. The atmosphere is what should bring you here. The service while we were here was not great. We waited over 30 minutes for two hotdogs and waffle fries. We ordered beers too, but they didn't bring those until they brought the food. The waitress apologized as they were understaffed on this day. The hotdogs looked good, but it was not my style of chili or hotdog weiner. The buns were delicious. The waffle fries were old which was surprising since we waited so long for our food.

my first time coming here was in 2024 for a dog event they were hosting (pictured). i thought this was an extremely cute event and it definitely got us talking. my husband and i have come back many times since. classic hot dogs with fun modern twists is the best way i can describe it. our personal favorites are the pimento, the hot brown, the bratwurst and and philly cheesesteak. we love the appetizers too and the mushrooms are actually what inspired the review. i love deep fried mushrooms, they have been one of my favorite hotdog "add ons" since i was a child. a big problem i have with getting take out is the mushrooms will be soggy by the time i get home or to wherever i want to eat them. tonight we ordered boonedogs and asked them to double fry the mushrooms until they were crispy and they definitely did it! they came out absolutely perfect. their customer service is above and beyond. the atmosphere is really nice too! tons of outside seating and the location is far from a lot of heavy traffic/footwork. can't wait to come again!

I am not a hotdog person but I love their hamburgers. I love their waffle fries that are loaded with all sorts of things like jalapeños and bacon and cheese and sour cream. I love their old-fashioned. In general it is not a real cheap meal but it is close to where we live, I like the atmosphere, the service and the food.

A really fun spot! We brought out of town family here for a kid-friendly dining spot and it was a great evening. We sat outdoors which is a large fenced in area with picnic table style dining tables. It's great for kids with lots of space to run around. As a vegetarian it's great to see they have a meatless option of a "beyond sausage" which freaked me out a bit it tasted so much like meat! There were a ton of topping options & I went with pickled jalapeño and grilled peppers which were great additions to the dog. Everyone enjoyed their meal! I do wish there were a few more veggie options for sides but I understand this is a hot dog joint & not a salad bar.

Whatever issues they had been having with service seems to be resolved. I've been here a couple times this year with great service and food...which is great because it really is a favorite of mine. Every time I look around they are updating or otherwise making improvements to food/atmosphere/service. Everyone should come once this summer.

Amazing service and a great variety of hot dogs. The chicken hot dogs are juicy and flavorful. I love the outdoor seating, as well.

Southern Cookhouse features scratch-made dishes using local ingredients, a variety of burgers, pizzas, and classic Southern entrees. I started with the Chicken & Sausage Gumbo because I love soup and all soup-adjacent things. The gumbo had a good, rich flavor from the roux, with subtle heat and a sweet finish. The chicken had a nice flavor, a little saltiness, and it was tender. The Andouille sausage was cooked well and rounded out the flavor profile. The tomatoes and scallions added brightness and crunch. The rice had a few hard pieces, but overall it was good. I do want to mention that I did find a few chicken bones in the dish, just so people are aware. My wife tried the Dunwoody Cobb, made with Grilled chicken breast, boiled eggs, bacon, avocado, tomato, and blue cheese crumbles, with spring mix tossed in Dijon vinaigrette. The lettuce was crunchy and fresh. The bacon had a great salt level, crunch, and crispiness. The avocado added a creamy richness to each bite, while the tomato's acidity cut through the Dijon mustard's sweet and bitter notes. The star of the show was the salty, nutty, creamy blue cheese crumbles, which meshed well with all the other components. The chicken was cooked well and had good flavor, but it was dry. While I avoided it, my wife said the boiled egg was well-cooked and added it to the salad. I had the Nashville Hot chicken, which comes with spicy pickles, coleslaw & mayo on slider rolls with potato salad. The potato salad was mustard-and-mayo-based. The potatoes were soft but still offered some texture. The mustard and mayo balanced each other and added flavor. There were eggs in the potato salad, but they blended into the background and did not stand out. The sweet pickle relish added crunch and texture without being overly sweet. I'm not sure if it was made in-house or from a container; it was good nonetheless. The slider was fresh, soft, and nicely toasted. The slaw was medium-chopped, with a great mayo ratio and a good sweetness, tasting fresh, crunchy, and creamy without being so rich as to drown out the vegetables or the chicken. The pickle was not spicy, but a thick-cut bread-and-butter type with a little sweetness and a velvety, buttery flavor. The chicken was juicy, tender, and cooked well. The Nashville-style spices were mild to medium, just enough to know it was there but not so overpowering that it was all you tasted. It was not overly oily either, which often plagues sandwiches of this type. The entire sandwich worked well together. Southern Cookhouse has a full menu, but some items do rotate or are seasonal. The bar is fully stocked, offering draft beer, tea, and soft drinks. They offer counter ordering, and the staff is very friendly. The Fat Man says that Southern Cookhouse & Bar is Fat Man Approved with 2 chins.
