In one word how would you say Loardy Loardy, OMG, Fan-F'en-tastic. There wasn't just one thing good, but everything is dressy and unbelievably good. First starting with the massive Mary, Bloody Mary was really the quintessential beverage for this boutique restaurant/bar. Every accoutrement on Mary was fresh. Plus it was so well made. Now for the food, and after that Mary, you really don't need anything, but well splurged on the food. Starting with Onion Rings, Fried Cauliflower, Drunken Mushrooms, Butter Burger, strip Steak Sandwich, Fried Perch Sandwich and finally Peanut Butter Pie. As you can see that's a lot to review, so to some it up, just read paragraph 1. This writer and his friends rolled out of here, 10 pounds heavier, but so very satisfied. This is truly one of the best spots I've been to in a long while. Also, making this place so special was Sheila our server. A big personality, she makes everyone feel special. She's quick with suggestions and recommendations. There are very few Sheila's left in the restaurant community, so finding a place like this is very important. We came in as a group of 8 for appetizers and drinks. They squeezed us in at a table for 4 but the couple next to us was super nice and let us use part of their table. I don't think the staff loved it but they were nice about it. We all shared the jumbo onion rings and beer battered cheese curds. The jumbo rings were HUGE. I could have slid one over my hand and worn it as a bangle! They were really good, when you bit into it, it wasn't like other rings where all the breading just falls off. The cheese curds were quite good as well. I am not a fan of the breading to cheese ratio that you find in mozzarella sticks and these fixed that problem. Bit size is the way to go. My sister and I went there looking to have a great steak dinner. The entire experience was awful. We had ordered the chilled shrimp for an appetizer. You could tell the shrimp was originally warm shrimp (you could order either way) that they put in ice water. The shrimp came out in the ice water. It was still warm in the inside and the texture was mushy. We both ordered our steaks medium rare. They came out medium well to well. Hardly any pink, no juice, hard to chew. When asked the manager he indicated that was how their medium rare was served there. The mushrooms we ordered for the steaks had a strange taste to them. Not edible. We won't be back. Saturday I picked up a takeout from the bar and was surprised to see that my salad and chicken strips were 38 dollars, since there were no prices on the website menu. Thinking this was overpriced I left no tip to Bearded deliverance behind the bar. He has very rude and started swearing when he saw I left no tip for him taking my money. This is one of our go-to spots. Honestly, all I can say to sum it up is that it is really friggin good American food. Though somewhat pricy ($16 for potato skins), the food does not disappoint. 2 orders- Excellent spare ribs on special for $14.99. They fell off the bone using the fork. I didn't need my knife. Burger was fantastic. Stuffed Pepper soup was was scrape your bowl and lick your spoon good! Hawaiian chicken was just right. Light hearted atmosphere was fun and made the night full of laughter. My son ordered mashed potatoes with his ribs, and they told him that mashed potatoes were not on the menu. Next time we look up, Wendy comes out with a baked potato, milk, butter and a potato masher! Non-white and well traveled people beware. This is white food. Down home comfort WHITE food with white people. They're nice, but don't believe the star rating if you like food that is not pre-prepared or frozen. Nothing original here. Seriously. Just like anywhere during these Covid days they are lacking in staff and difficult to staff which means longer wait times for food and drinks. My wife and I were at the restaurant on Saturday June 4, 2022. After waiting for sometime our waiter asked if we wanted anything to drink. My wife ordered Diet Coke and I ordered Iced Tea. After approximately 10 minutes the waiter finally returned with our basic beverages. The waiter walked away again without taking our order. After another ten minutes our waiter finally returned to ask for our order. I asked if he would recommend the burger or walleye he said either is ok. I decided to order the walleye and asked if I could substitute onion rings for fries. Upon receiving my dinner I was taken back to see my dinner was a less than stellar and overpriced single piece of walleye. To top it off when we got our bill, we found out the up-charge for an order of onion rings was $8. This food is overpriced, the service is sub-par And the restaurant is underwhelming. read more

This was my first visit to Boone's. The restaurant was packed when we arrived, short wait for a table. Great little pub with a fantastic atmosphere. Nice selection on the menu. Absolutely everything we tried was AMAZING! Drunken mushrooms, clam chowder, Blue Cheese burger and the Drunken Mushroom burger. Our waitress, Sheila, was fantastic. Very helpful with her food suggestions, very friendly and made us feel right at home. She even took a few pictures for us. Overall great experience. We'll definitely be going back. read more

Really disappointing this trip. And that's the trouble. Here, and VI are consistently inconsistent. While the food here is typically always good, the service can too often greatly compromise the experience. Call me high maintenance, but I don't WANT to have to trek across the restaurant to retrieve my own cutlery, OR down the stairs and to the accessible expo-line to ask for condiments. All while my server continues to take orders from other tables. STAAAP. Get YOUR arse down the stairs and get the sour cream I asked for AFTER you delivered my food yet BEFORE taking other tables' orders! Five stars for the institution that is Boone's Prime Time Pub! Boone's is like a big warm bear hug.. A hearty "welcome home" that envelopes you in familiarity and comfort. I've been to Boone's plenty of times as I grew up in the area and spent my formative years in Suttons Bay. Now I return as a semi-native and never skip a chance to enjoy some pub fare at beloved Boone's. Perched as you enter downtown SB from the south, Boone's is a mainstay in the village, complete with the look and feel of a place you want to return to. Full of locals, but the door is always open to visitors as well. It's just a damn good little place. Our most recent visit was a blustery day before NYE with some out of town friends. We were looking for a great lunch nearby, and Boone's more than delivered. Dare I say it was the perfect vacation lunch. The kind of lunch you take when you have long forgotten what day it is, and are in no rush to be anywhere for anything. As we cozied up in one of the fireplace booths, ordered a round of beers (and a well received bloody mary!) and started to peruse the menu...it struck me that this is such an enjoyable place. The food is above average for a pub. My M-22 classic burger was deliciously sinful. The cottage chips I stole from my husband were LEGIT. The homemade chicken soup? Probably suitable to cure any illness known to man. The service was delightful. The beers are of good quality and selection (my preferred is the Bells Two Hearted), but also the regulars to keep the traditionals happy. Strikes a great balance and appeals to a wide demographic without overdoing it. This is a cute little place in the adorable "sea side" town of Suttons Bay, about 20 miles from Traverse City. I'm hesitant to suggest the restaurant or the city as a destination place, because there is quite frankly, so little to see and do there. But if you happen to be in the TC area and are looking for something a little different, it was a nice distraction. It's also part of the bike trail network, so you if you're biking from TC or along M-22, you could use this pit stop to "break up" your ride. The place is small, cabin-like, and pretty cozy. Two dollar Bloody Mary's got me in the door, but the appetizer I split (Arizona Egg Rolls) was actually really good too. I only glanced at the rest of the menu, but it looked a little on the pricier side as far as casual fare goes. Wish I had more info beyond this review and pictures I added, other than to say it fit in perfectly with it's surroundings, and that I'll be back when I am up that way! read more

Service here is über friendly and attentive. Good mix of the locals and tourists. They do a good job with local fish and burgers. Their onion rings can't be beat. We placed a 2nd order after the first was quickly gobbled up. I normally am not a ranch dressing fan, but theirs is homemade and tasty. Our group today had 3 orders of the perch Reuben and a perch sandwich. Nice portion, I'm saving my 2nd half for lunch on the beach. Also appreciate a few local wines and beers. Took the family here for dinner, there is limited seating so prepare for a wait. My mushroom burger was cooked perfectly and pretty delicious, but my sweet potato fries were over cooked and greasy. The hubs and I love us some small town pub action. This place has a really great atmosphere and the staff are very friendly. We sat at the bar, but there is a beautiful fireplace that you can sit near and enjoy. I had a bowl of delish Italian vegetable beef soup and yyyuummmmm. Hit the spot on a cold day. The hubs ordered the grilled chicken with fries. I liked the fries - crispy and a little towards well done but that's just how I like them! Naturally I dunked them in ranch and was pleased to find that the ranch is made onsite. The bar features local tastes of wine as well as draft and bottled beers. The bartender let us know that the onion rings are hand dipped and are quite tasty so we'll have to try those next time! read more

Wow what can I say this place was absolutely amazing! The service, the food and the drinks were all outstanding. They are located in a small town tucked away from Traverse city. They are a small mom and pop pub and they definitely know what they are doing with those wings! They are now one of my favorite wings I have ever tried, you can tell they cook them with lots of love. They smoke then bbq them and toss them with their homemade honey bbq sauce which is amazing. No leftovers at all! Make sure you try their refreshing drinks as well because they were also so good.
