I've been to this place a couple of times and, perhaps too early, has not been busy. From what I have tasted here this is very surprising as I hear often how "they just don't have good bakeries around here." Well, look no further. Everything made from scratch, with lots of care I might add, and you can certainly tell from the very first to the very last bite. Matt runs an incredible little place. It is worth the little, tint extra effort to navigate the parking lot to get to his store. He, his wife, and his staff are all so friendly. They recognize patrons, and always talk to everyone. Now, his baked goods are out of this world. Everything from his cookies, to scones, and breads are awesome. His croissants are by far the best my wife and I have ever had. They are so tender, and flaky. Along with anything else that uses the same dough. He does specials, daily or seasonly, and they aren't to be missed. His English muffins and pretzels are incredible. I am a huge fan of the breakfast sandwich as well. The eggs are always cooked just right, and the cheese melts into the croissant. Just the best way to start a day. And what others might not realize, he does catering. I'm not talking the boxed lunches he offers. But pastry catering. We had him cater the dessert table at our wedding. He was great to work with. He asked about flavors and themes, and came up with recipes and ideas to fit everything. The pricing was very fair, and I don't think there was a crumb left over. Make sure to try the ginger molasses cookies, white chocolate cherry scones, and the cranberry walnut bread. All personal favorites of ours. read more

We have driven by Boosalis Bakery and Cafe several times and it looked like it was closed. We went by today and it was open and WOW! This bakery and carfe has the greatest Cranberry and Orange Scones! They are so creamy...and the brownies are to die for! They are just sweet enough not to hurt your teeth and are a delight! I was in the area for business, in from Columbus, and stopped by this gem! First of all the owner was wonderful! He gave me samples of some of the most popular items and everything was DELICIOUS!!! I come from a family who can bake and bake well using organic real ingredients, and this was better than anything I've tried. The Kouign-Amann was to die for. Flakey, buttery, absolutely yummy!! The Chocolate croissant was one of the best I've had, and peanut butter cookie was melt in your mouth good!! Needless to say whenever I'm back in the area this will be my stop!! Why am I just finding this bakery?!?!?! I've lived in Dayton for a little over 2 years and missed a bakery where real croissants and fresh baked bread were the stars of the show. OMG, I am munching on their AlexBell Panini and savoring every crunchy, gooey cheesy moment. This is the first time I've been here and SO glad I stopped in. The gentleman waiting on me was knowledgeable and very pleasant. When he heard it was my first visit he gave me a taste of... I don't remember the name but it was a smaller, crunchy version of a croissant. Total heaven. Highly recommend this place. A neighborhood gem! we discovered this bakery when we first moved back to Centerville and it has already become a favorite. You can tell a difference in the pastries here-- I know it's the European butter but the flour is also exceptional. Even the usually-ubiquitous scone is amazing. OMG...the scones are awesome!!!!! I have been coming here since they opened across the street from lexis nexus 6 years ago I believe. I have NEVER had anything I didn't like. Best bakery, period, in Dayton. Ginger scones have a loyal following. They aren't like biscuits, they are made with cream and butter and are real scones. Brownies, macaroons, bear claws, blueberry muffins, cinnamon rolls, caramel popcorn, croissants. tarts, quiche, chocolate croissants, sandwiches on bread that they make, ginger spice cookies and other favorites. I was in the hospital and all I craved was scones! I haven't had a pie yet but I am certain they are delicious. The bread that matt makes is so good! Mindy is great, she is always smiling. I stopped in here for lunch between stops on the Aviation Trail around Dayton. I fear that its neighbor across the street, Starbucks, may be stealing business from them because of its name brand....but trust me when I say that this bakery is leagues ahead of Starbucks in the pastry department. While I was waiting for my egg and cheese croissant sandwich, I was offered a sample of their delicious whole grain loaf and charmingly persuaded to consider their scones. I am glad I was persuaded because their Cranberry Orange Scones melt-in-your-mouth. They make all of their baked goods from scratch, and the proof is in the taste and texture of their amazing baked goods. The staff was friendly and outgoing and clearly very passionate about their craft. I left with my egg and cheese croissant. The eggs were fresh and fluffy, the cheese was good quality and the croissant a buttery delight. Being a vegetarian, I order a lot of these when I travel to non-veg savvy places, but this was quite possibly the best I have had in years, if not ever. I would really encourage anyone in the Dayton/Miamisburg area to skip The 'Bucks and try Boosalis for a refreshing and quality small bakery. read more

I am presently enjoying a wonderful (as usual) sticky pecan bun with coffee at Boosalis Baking in Springboro. I lived in the Dayton area when Matt (Boosalis) first opened his place six years ago. I have since moved out of state but do return to Boosalis Baking whenever I am in the area. For anyone who has not visited the bakery, Matt bakes wonderful breads in addition to pastries.
