I finally got to visit!!! Been eyeing this place on my Yelp for a while and kept hearing from all of our friends that we had to come. Came on a Wednesday morning and they were so so so kind and when we told them it was our first time we got samples of the more popular items- ended up getting almost everything lol Everything is amazing here and this is definitely my kind of pastry bakery place. I can't wait to come from lunch and try their paninis as well. I would say I was pleasantly surprised by this cafe, however the reviews were already raving about how solid it was. They weren't wrong. I was greeted by who I assume was an owner and she was extremely sweet. When asking about different options she allowed me to sample one of their pastries I had never had before. The mini caramelized croissant was absolutely delicious and made a perfect pairing with their black coffee. Although I couldn't help but to indulge in the sweeter pastry I had to make sure to get some kind of breakfast! for me it ended up being the ham & cheese croissant. This light pastry was so savory and just very tasty. Super flaky which I love since I am a sucker for croissant's of any kind. I would definitely go back to get these baked goods again but I think next time I stop in I'll be joining them for lunch so I can explore the menu more. read more

We drove here due to the high Yelp reviews. The owners were awesome! We enjoyed meeting them and felt very welcome. I ordered the Turkey Club and my husband had a Cranberry/Turkey. Both were good, but the club was definitely better in our opinion. The turkey on cranberry bread was kind of plain but the cranberry bread was tasty. We took a bunch of desserts with us for later. My favorite was the cheese danish. We were visiting from out of town otherwise this would be a regular stop. We were disappointed that we didn't get to buy any bread since we were leaving town soon. This little bakery was a pleasant find. We had never had Kougin Amann before. I'd recommend it, although it's a small treat, not a standalone "meal". The cinnamon roll was good, but I wouldn't call it exceptional. The white chocolate cherry scone needed something. Maybe a glaze or more cherries would have made it special. Still in love with Boosalis! If you haven't been, what are you waiting for? Matt continues to be a great host to all the guests who walk through the door. He wants to know your name and I note he personally greets other guests. I love how he takes the time to walk around and make sure everyone is doing well and addresses any needs: water, etc. The food is awesome. We popped in for lunch and we each got different sandwiches, all were delicious and fresh. I'm still in love with the molasses cookie. (All the cookies are amazing, don't get me wrong!) My mom purchased a delicious cranberry loaf and I enjoyed a traditional french baguette. Honestly, they do delicious pastry, bread, sweets, and lunch! Not only that, but they cater too! Wow! What a great place. Owner was super friendly and so were the other coworkers. They kept giving us large portions of free samples because it was our first time. We had a nice chat about the baked goods with the owner who explained everything so well. He gave me a piece of the oatmeal cookie to try as well as the morning bun and we were amazed. The oatmeal cookie was sweet and salty and gooey. Never have I ever tasted such an awesome oatmeal cookie. We will definitely be back! Loved the atmosphere and the kind employees that made us feel so welcome with only being there for 10 minutes! Reminded us of the kind treatment we received in Italy. I've been looking forward to trying the pastries from Boosalis for quite awhile when I found out that Whole Foods in Centerville buys their Kouign-Amann pastries from here. I love that Boosalis is a local bakery in Centerville! It's a hidden gem here and definitely worth a visit to try all their delicious pastries. Additionally, they sell breakfast croissant sandwiches and lunch sandwiches. The staff was friendly and greeted me right away when I entered the store. I visited the bakery in the morning and my eyes immediately darted to the Kouign-Amann. It looked so flaky and glistened with sugary goodness in the display case. For this visit, I ordered Kouign-Amann ($2.40 each), a Chocolate Chip Croissant ($2.55), and a Cranberry Orange Scone ($2.65). The Kouign-Amann and Chocolate Chip Croissant were so delicious. It was buttery, flaky, and so good. You could really tell that they use quality ingredients and take pride in their croissants. I would highly recommend ordering these! The scone was good but not as good as the other pastries I ordered. It was a little dry for my liking but probably would be amazing if I had it with a cup of hot tea or coffee. I can't wait to try other baked goods from Boosalis whenever I am in the area! read more

The pastries and baked goods here are top notch, always delicious. However...we made this mistake of ordering sandwiches to go for a picnic. Know how sometimes you open a pack of lunch meat and then forget it, and give it a sniff 5 days later and KNOW it has gone rotten? That was what was in my chicken sandwich. Husbands sandwich was mostly mayonnaise with 2 strips of bell pepper and some meat. Seriously, the mayo was oozing everywhere and had soaked the bread. We waited 27 minutes for rotten chicken and the drowning mayonnaise wreck. And they prompt aggressively for tips when paying. And, finally, the reason we picked up to go food instead of eating there, is that the abrasive young man working the counter lately is just too much. I stopped getting breakfast here a while ago because it just starts the day on the wrong foot to be snapped at, and then listen to him snap at or just be rude to everyone else who walks in. The food is decent. Got their Cranberry Turkey sandwich. It was a bit dry but the flavor was good. They have a good assortment of pastries and baked goods. Their puffed pastry which I had tried another time was delicious. Would recommend zapping in the microwave for about 5-10 sec. Such buttery goodness. They are pretty quick with service and the lady at the counter is nice. The food came out pretty quickly and the inside is clean. One thing though, I had told the lady I was dining in but received a take out bag and was the only dine in customer that had to go up to the counter to get my food. Everyone else got their meal delivered to them in regular metal baskets. Dont know how I feel about that. Maybe bc I was the only Asain? Would go back again for quick lunch but will probs do takeout from now on. read more

A little piece of Paris right here in Dayton! I'm fortunate enough to have enjoyed pastries in some pretty amazing cities, but the ones made at Boosalis are as good as any I've had elsewhere. They are consistently fresh and delicious, and even if they have sold out of my favorite (Kouign Aman), there are many other favorites from which to choose. Stopped in the Saturday before Easter and it was very crowded but they got thru the line quickly! I'll be preordering next year, but the hot cross buns were delicious and an absolute hit with my family! I also ordered several pastries to enjoy that morning and they were all wonderful. Ask what all they have when you arrive or you'll miss out since it is constantly changing with freshly baked options coming out of the oven constantly. Unfortunately the remodeled Boosalis Bakery under new ownership has lost most of what made it wonderful. The new space has very harsh lighting that gave me a headache. The menu is posted on an 8x10 stand at the counter and is hard to read. The quality of the baked goods has fallen and the service was awful. I ordered the pre baked ham and cheese croissants and pointed them out at the case but was given hot ham egg and cheese croissants instead. After we were given the ham and cheese croissants each on a piece of wax paper, the woman behind the counter yelled across the room that we could throw out the egg sandwiches. They did refund the price of the egg, ham and cheese croissants unasked. I then discovered that they had been made with American cheese which seemed new and terrible. I never expected a high end ingredient restaurant that had only been selling Boars Head meat and cheeses to now serve American cheese food products without even a warning. The prices are not reflecting these cheaper ingredients. Matt, what you created is gone. read more

As always, this place doesn't disappoint. Got the most delicious and moist scones the other day, and their specialty pastry, which I can never remember. They say it's pronounced 'queen-Ahmad' - a round, flaky, buttery croissant-baklava thing with tons of thin layers and then a touch of hardened sugar on the bottom. I can't describe. You just have to try one. Or 5. And they're great about taking orders for bread. I'm starting a regular thing with a friend in MI, bringing her Bousalis rye bread that she raves about!! We love trying little local cafes for lunch on saturdays and Boosalis didn't disappoint! The Cranberry Turkey was delish; the basil Mayo really sets it off. Husband had the Beef and Bleu; super rich and tender roast beef with lots of blue cheese and horseradish Mayo. The owner came over and gave us some baguette slices to dip in their amazing olive oil. We also got pumpkin pie (loved the clove spice in it!) and a morning roll (the hint of orange is so good!) Get here early because they will sell out of their popular items like the "kouign amman". I've been going to this bakery, cafe, and restaurant ever since it opened in its previous location. The baked goods are the best you'll find in the Dayton area and probably in most of Ohio. The bread is artisan baked style bread and the pastries are top notch, akin to what you'd expect to get in NYC or SF or in europe. read more
