Not only did they fail to fix the original problem, the console came back in worse condition after their work. At one point it was completely unusable. Each time I brought up a new problem that had appeared after their repair, they refused to take responsibility and suggested it must have already been that way. Somehow, though, they would take the console into the back, tinker with it and get that particular issue working again, only for another problem to surface. After multiple visits, lengthy arguments and failed attempts to simply return my console to the condition it was in when I originally brought it to them, the owner/manager essentially decided they couldn't have caused any of the problems because they've "fixed hundreds of consoles." He refunded my original payment, told me not to come back and said to take any further issues up with corporate. They also repeatedly tried to insist that my original crashing problem was software-related rather than acknowledge that they simply couldn't diagnose or repair it. I ultimately took the console to a different repair shop. They determined that the crashing issue was, in fact, hardware-related and also found stressed/frayed ribbon cables inside the console. One of those damaged cables was causing my optical drive to malfunction. After replacing the damaged cable, the drive works perfectly again and the console is finally back to the functional condition it was in before I brought it to uBreakiFix. While I can't speak for every uBreakiFix location, I would absolutely avoid the Midway Dr. San Diego store for anything requiring more care or technical skill than a straightforward repair. I'd give zero stars if Google allowed it. And after the conversations I had with Sayed, I fully expect a circular explanation below about how none of this could possibly have been their responsibility.

I was absolutely panicking because I had recent photos and other important data that hadn't been backed up yet. (I manually back up my photos to an external hard drive, and I hadn't done so in about a month.) The day before, I was at the beach and my phone got splashed with a little water. It was never dropped or submerged, but around midday it went into Recovery Mode. I couldn't find anyone willing to even discuss whether it might be a hardware issue. Over and over, I was told my only option was to restore the phone to factory settings... even at the Apple Store. I found data recovery companies online, but they were expensive and would have required shipping my iPhone across the country for an unknown amount of time. Thankfully, the team at DC Computers recommended Logic Fix. Kyle took one look at my situation and explained that, because of the water exposure, there was a good chance it was a hardware issue. He was honest from the beginning and made no guarantees. He explained that if the memory chip had been damaged, my data might not be recoverable, but he knew what to look for before telling me to erase everything. In my case, he found and replaced a failed sensor, and in probably less than half an hour my iPhone was back to normal with all of my data intact. To him it was no big deal, but to me it meant getting back priceless photos, voice memos, documents, and everything else I thought I might have lost. He also charged a very fair price. What impressed me most wasn't just that he fixed the phone ... it was that he understood preserving my data was more important than simply getting the phone working again. Instead of immediately recommending a factory restore, he took the time to diagnose the actual problem first. I really hope I don't need another iPhone repair anytime soon, but if I do, Logic Fix will be my first stop. TL;DR: Kyle is honest, knowledgeable, and incredibly skilled. While everyone else I spoke with recommended restoring my iPhone to factory settings, Kyle looked for the underlying hardware problem first. The side effects are far worse than the minor crack I had. Weigh your options carefully. Other side effects include loss of water resistance and strength of screen. I should have done my research first but this was not disclosed by the staff other than a little printed disclaimer on the side of POS that I read after the repair started while I was waiting. This was not disclosed at time of intake and transaction. I am surprised by all the positive reviews. Yes it was installed quickly and cleanly but the product is inferior and expensive and the impact to the phone's performance is continuous and significant.
