After going here a few times, initially because my boyfriend needed work boots, later because he offered to buy me my FIRST REAL PAIR OF COWBOY BOOTS!!:D we've had a really decent experience. The girls aren't overly smiley or enthusiastic but they have been really helpful each visit. One of the girls that helped my boyfriend buy his work boots was from New Zealand I think(?) and she seemed to really know what she was talking about and he walked out very happy with his purchase. When I was shopping for my boots, it's seriously harder than I expected! Leather cowboy boots are supposed to feel snug in one place and roomy in another. So, this being my first purchase it was quite the lengthy process. I fell in love with a black hair of boots I now wear allllllll the tiiiiiiimeeee, which is what we were told you're supposed to do to make the boots fit to your exact footing. My boyfriend struggled a little more with his purchase. One pair was uncomfortably tight and the other was too loose. In majority of their boots, they offer both regular and wide options. He ended up going with the smaller pair, the girls said that if they don't stretch after a few wears, he can come in and they'll stretch them out for him (no idea how that works). Don't come here expecting to pay less than $120 for a pair of boots, but these are genuine and will last forever. Of course the girls tried to get us to buy a million other products to protect the boots but we kindly refused because we have some oils at home. Also! My boyfriend got about $20 off his purchase because he had gained a certain amount of points from previous purchases. Super cool! read more

I'm new to the western look. I originally went in for work boots and was pleased with the service. They are always friendly, and one man especially knew the products he sells. They will ALWAYS try to up-sell you and "encourage" you to buy conditioners and things like that. My biggest issue is after buying a hard cowboy hat. She recommended waterproofing it. When I got home and read the directions, I realized that the waterproof wouldn't work and even says that on the directions. Which is my own fault, but has ultimately led me to do business at the Temecula store. Which has a greater selection and more knowledgeable staff. I came in looking for the perfect work boot. I had already been to a couple places to try different styles. One of the saleswoman was incredibly friendly and helpful and truly just went above and beyond with her level of customer service!! She brought me a few different choices but I ended up liking a color of boot in a size they didn't have. After verifying that they didn't have it in the back, Haley (the saleswoman) called the nearest location and had them put their last pair on hold for me. Very happy with my experience here ! It was pretty expensive and the guy that helped us seemed really annoyed like we were wasting just time he got mad at us for no reason and had an attitude. Then when we payed for it he didn't even give us a receipt finally when it printed he didn't give it to us like most stores he just said in an angry voice "get it yourself". I just bought my very 1st pair of cowboy boots and needless to say I'm super picky, but these ladies really helped out with all my challenges. I have been in here several times and seen folks dressed in every fashion style in the book and see them all get treated just as great as the rest. Madison made our visit perfect! My fiancé and I stopped in to pick out the boots I was going to wear on our wedding day. I may have been the most needy customer... Not intentionally, but after picking out 2 pairs that I loved... Madison called around to local stores to have my abnormally sized boot delivered. After our nearly hour and a half visit I changed my mind about 4 times and she patiently stood by my side helping each step of the way. This is one of the smaller Boot Barns I'd ever been to. I was there to get my friends new born baby a gift. Baby/kid section was pretty tiny. I definitely recommend having a little bit more. They weren't in stock so she had to order them for us at 2 different locations. Then she explained to us about the points system and how we can spend the points into cash. I have spend the better part of a decade in retail management and I hate the return experience more than anyone but Boot Barn has really exceeded my expectations for customer service. I purchased my first pair of boots from them in April and had to return them after the first pair was breaking in completely unevenly, they made that exchange easy and painless. Just the other day, two months later, I noticed that my boots were coming apart at one of the seams so I reluctantly went in to see if they could do anything for me (no receipt). I was happy to hear that this was not a common issue and that I could exchange the boots for anther pair. I left today with a new pair of boots to replace the torn ones and I will be back with my wife to purchase some for her as well. The Oceanside staff has made me a lifelong customer and I will recommend them to anyone looking for western style boots or work boots. To those few that received bad customer service here I can only assume that you are a bad customer and likely deserved worse service than you received. Every year I get a pair of boots the company I work for pays for them so I buy them if I need them or not . I live in the Temecula area and hate going to the store there because the staff looks at you as an interruption in there day . The old lady there is the worst . Last week or the week before I was going to Carlsbad and I took a pair of Georgia boots I had bought to see if I could exchange them . One of the pair of Georgia boots I tried lasted 2 months never again will I buy them they SUCK . I walked in the store and was greeted by Lily and Madison both were friendly helpful and energetic an other customer walked in and Madison broke off to help them . Lily helped and I explained my situation .I have to wear a brace and the brace did not work in the boots .She turned to Becky another helpful person and asked if I could exchange them . Becky without hesitation said yes with a smile all the women there made you feel welcome . Lily was patient with me we found a pair that worked and the exchange was made with a smile you could tell they don't judge or take returns to heart . I said to Lily I have 2 other pairs I would like to return if I can . Becky over heard our conversation and said absolutely . I returned the other boots last week and I knew they did not have in stock so I told them to order them and I would pay the difference and wait it out no rush this was on a Sunday , Tuesday Becky called and said the boots were in I told her I would pick them up later in the week she said they would be there .Today I picked them up same great service Lily and Madison were GREAT both work well as a team .In this day and age most people would rather kick you in the ass then pat you on the back .I'm here to say I had a GREAT experience at this store and staff . Ok first thing yes it's a tidy store very good presentation worth 4 starts. Customer service is usually decent not great and not bad, but meh. Most times takes a bit for someone to ask me if I would like some help, worth 3 stars. Last and most important is the stock. When I buy boots I want to try on the one on the floor but I don't want to buy them, because usually only one of the pair is tried on by the average person and who knows how many people have actually tried them on so basically your buying one brand new and one used. When you ask for a brand new pair, the staff says the ones on the floor are the only ones in stock. Where I come from boot stores stock boots. My advice to you is if unless you need them that day go in try them on here and order a brand new pair at a lower price from country outfitters and you'll receive them in less than a week or 2 days if you pay a little extra.
