I give this place a 5 star for atmosphere! This was exaccttllyyy what we needed on a rainy, blustery, November Saturday. The interior has a very English pub feel, dominated by reclaimed wood(handcrafted by the owner), vintage photos and maps on the wall, and a fireplace at the back of the tavern. Service was excellent, and we had a nice chat with Brett behind the bar. I highly recommend the Vanilla Porter (and then a nap). The food was good- I want to come back and try one of the burgers, they looked amazing. It was seafood chowder and salad for us. Great spot for a cozy date or relaxed dinner at the bar. PLUS they have a fundraiser going all season long every year where for a $1/roll you can roll yahtzee dice. If you get 5 of a kind you win a $25 gift card. The money goes towards a local cause during the winter lime a family who needs heating assistance or if there's a fire. Love that community feel. Def will be coming back read more

We stayed at the campground here over the weekend. The bathrooms were roomy and spotless. The staff was very friendly and engaging. The pizza is top of the line. They have an extensive array of pizza. All flavors that I tried included very fresh and flavorful ingredients. The dough was thin (as I like it) and had a nice taste and texture. The harvest salad was fresh and delicious. The building is interesting and comfortable. The outdoor patio is pleasantly shaded by trees and has a nice fire pit for cool evenings. Had a fun time but it was a long wait for food and the pizza was just alright. They told us it would be about 20 minutes for pizza and it ended up being double that. We ordered the sweet and "sassy" pizza and the margarita. I feel like they needed to be cooked a little longer since the cheese was extremely gooey. I will give it to them that the outside atmosphere is awesome! They have cornhole and bocce ball. It was nice to play some games while we waited for our pizza. We first visited The Watershed in June, and were satisfied enough with our experience to return. This time around? Totally different. Seat yourself, write out your own order, deliver it to the bar, wait forever for food, putting up with attitude from staff in the meantime. It seemed like we inconvenienced them by being there! My husband is a chef and has worked in the industry for years, so we are no stranger to the way a restaurant should function or how employees should act. Wanting to give the benefit of the doubt (everyone has their bad days), I got onto TripAdvisor first and now Yelp! to see if it was just an off day or a new recurring theme - had others had the same experience? Sadly it in fact seems to be recurring. I was hesitant to write a review at first since the owner, Win, seems to have a snippy response for anybody that doesn't rave about his establishment. Business owners should learn to be more respectful of their patrons, AND their staff, as they are what keep a place running! The owner isn't hard to find on Facebook either, which put the final nail in this restaurants coffin for me. The owner has a lot of colorful things to say about employees and the current generation; I'd say it's nothing short of his own fault for being short staffed and left holding his own arse. Sadly the food doesn't even get a mention because the horrible service and staff behavior dominated our experience more than anything. Everything from start to finish perfectly emulated Win's attitude - p*ss poor. Long review short? Stay away. Stay far away. This guy does NOT deserve your money. read more

We visited this restaurant last week on our vacation to Maine and we totally enjoyed our experience there. The owner met us at the outside pavilion and offered help us order when we told him we were from out of town. My husband and I both ordered beers and we ordered the cheese and Camden special pizzas for our family. That night they were also offering brisket dinners. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience there! Good place overall. Ordering and paying is a bit of a pain. You wait for a table, then get handed menus, write down what you want, and order from the bar, making sure to indicate which table you're at, based upon the unique item identifier if had on it. (Tongs, wrench, etc). Weather was crappy the day we went, so waiting space was cramped, but manageable. Beer delivery after ordering was quicker than expected, and how you pick your beer flights and then keep track of which is which was cool and easy. The food we had was all pretty good, and came out quickly as well. The Haddock Reuben had me nervous, but it ended up being great. As far as beer quality, some are pretty good. My favorite was Thirsty Botanist, which is a semi-hazy, citrusy, New England style IPA. Flights are a bit pricey considering the cost for the cans. You could just buy a few single cans, take them home and split them up amongst a few people and save some cash. read more

I'm in the same boat as reviewer Zea L..... We were sat in a bay window area of the restaurant which was probably 60 degrees at best. We were told there was a heater in the corner we could turn on if we'd like. The thing didn't even work, and my 7 month old son had to keep his jacket on not to be cranky and freezing. I'm usually very laid back and would think "no biggie" but there was a big sign saying "RESERVATIONS ONLY" on the door, which would indicate to me that the establishment would've been aware of the table's use for the evening and should've ensured guest comfort and just left the heater on. Or honestly fix the heating in the restaurant..... We never had the chance to order a second round of drinks and never had the waitress check back in on us once we got our food. We also had to chase her down to get our check as well. We were also treated rudely by the hostess who sat us as well. If not for the food being really good, I'd rate this place a single star. If you don't like people, maybe get out of a business where all you do is interact with them. If you're looking to get treated like an inconvenience then this is your place. read more

My husband and myself tried this place tonight August 3 2022 ordered beers and a pizza and an order of wings. Pizza got there almost immediately but no wings. We decided it would just come a little later so decided to wait But they didn't come. My husband flagged down a waitress who checked on it for us and said they did not have our order. Now the person who took the order asked him about sauces and things so he definitely gave them the order. the restaurant has you pay when you leave ? So when we did my husband told the order taker we needed the wings removed from our ticket and she responded Well you never ordered them I believe this is rally BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE. I mean even an idiot employee Would just say sorry and go on. But not this lady. Not recommending them for this poor employee response. read more

Call me misinformed when it comes to craft beer in Maine--I did not know the Boothbay Region had a craft brewery, and they've been at it since 2005!! Located just off Route 27 on your way into Boothbay Harbor (on Adams Pond Road), this is a place worth adding to your must-stop list of places off the beaten path. It's well worth the trip. The Watershed Tavern, next to the brewing operation, offers some really great-tasting and carefully prepared pub food that makes a terrific accompaniment to the beer being brewed here. My fave was the FlipFlop, a sessionable ale that I literally could have drank all afternoon. They also make an outstanding brown ale that compares well to the Old Brown Dog brewed by Smuttynose, a personal favorite of mine. I had their grilled reuben, which is made with a nice cut of corned beef, I'm guessing Morse's sauerkraut (didn't ask, but they have their pickles as a garnish on the sandwich plates), Russian dressing, with just the right of Swiss and pressed to perfection, panini-style. My wife went with the eggplant panini, and we swapped halves, so I can vouch for the quality of her sandwich, also. The clam chowder was one of the better ones I've had in awhile, with a flavorful, creamy texture, and ample amounts of clams, potatoes, and onion. No need to season their version, as it really had the pizzazz I like in a good New England chowder. Let me mention that while this is a brewery, my wife is not a beer fan--she'll sip a beer now and then, but really prefers wine. The nice thing about the Watershed is that they have an extensive wine menu, to go along with their selection of beers. A really great find, and I'm really glad we visited while in the area for a few days. read more

Had an early dinner with the family here. The atmosphere is great. Love the simple decor and exposed beams. Nothing too fancy. We missed the tour, but if you get there by 3pm there is a tour and tasting at the brewery. Our orders - two Reuben's, a fish and chips, and the eggplant panini, and an order of fries Reuben's were excellent! One of the best I have ever had. Perfect ratio of fillings, and the corn beef had excellent flavor. The fish and chips were phenomenal. The sauce it came with (not tartar) was delicious. VERY GENEROUS PORTION. You will definitely have left overs for at least two extra meals. Eggplant panini was ok. Not spectacular. The fries were amazing! Whatever spice blend they use was yummy. I stumbled upon this place on our way to the botanical gardens and was starved after wandering aimlessly through the lights and stopped to look at their menu quickly and made a reservation. The staff was not what I would call fast or overly helpful which made for a relaxed atmosphere and no sense of being rushed to turn the table over. The building itself if worth stopping in for a drink to check out but you should just grab a skillet meal, burger, or a perfectly cooked wood fire pizza while there. This is sure to be my annual food stop when exploring the Boothbay area. read more

We stopped in as any craft beer fan should and was so impressed, we came back before we left the area. Our first visit was on a Sunday when they were serving a brunch menu and was blown away by the quality of the food and beer alike. With offerings like a lobster scramble, New England clam chowder and stuffed French toast, it was incredible. The second visit we had to try the burger the staff had recommended. Again, it exceeded our expectations. The chefs really now what they are doing! Lastly, the beer! We tried all their in-house offerings and they were all very good. They have a rotating cask-conditioned offering and a nitro line for specialties and the stout is very tasty. Highly recommend spending some time here if you get the chance! read more

OK hold up, this place is AMAZING. You need to eat there right now. Ambiance is warm and cozy, staff are super friendly, food is delicious, and drinks are very tasty. Wife and I are on vacation and wanted a break from coastal seafood, so pizza and beer was a perfect choice. We got the Forager's pizza which featured locally sourced fiddlehead ferns, mushrooms, and various greens. Delicious. For brews be sure to try the Thirsty Botanist (juicy IPA) and the vanilla porter. We arrived a party of six without reservations after a visit at the Gardens. The host kindly explained that there was no room and offered to call an alternative restaurant to get us on their list. After trying unsuccessfully to do so, he ultimately squeezed us into a cozy spot. We had excellent service, the food was fantastic, and they were so welcoming. First of all, if someone seats us at a place, I do not expect to be told I would need to go to the bar to order. You just seated me. Why can't YOU take my order? Then, there was the fact that the person who took the order at the bar did not seem to know how to do special orders. You see, my husband does not eat mammals and that was all that was on the menu...because we came on a Saturday, where there is a reduced menu for some reason. Anyway, it took nearly 10 minutes to place the order. And then I paid and if I wanted to tip with my credit card, I needed to tip IN ADVANCE. This does not sit well with me. And kind of defeats the purpose of tipping. Unless Yelpers start reporting a different experience, we won't be back. read more

Went to camp here at their resort and made a reservation online. Got a confirmation email and headed all that way from Massachusetts. Come to find no one there, so we called the given number and no answer on the first call, the second call heard someone laugh and say hang up, left a voicemail on the third, and ignored on the fourth. Mind you all these calls were within the three hours that we waited. We also sent an email as well as sent a Facebook message. Nothing. As we were about to leave, what I can presume to be the owners, pulled up and put groceries inside while parking right next to us. Not a single word was said to us so we decided to hook our car back up and leave. During this three hours we spent the time looking for a new place to stay since we have to meet up with family very shortly. We were definitely pleasantly surprised by this place! After exploring the nearby Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens, we stopped in for lunch. It's a small brewing facility with an old pub attached, and it felt rather colonial or British in nature with low ceilings, dimly lighting, lots of wood furniture, and quirky decor. After seating ourselves, we received super friendly service via counter order at the bar. I loved the format, both the counter order and set your own table parts. They basically just have pizza and beer, which was fine with us. We got two of their flagship pale ales and two of the numerous vegetarian pizzas - the botanist and pesto one. Beer was good, and both of the pizzas were really good, but the botanist stood out as unique, loaded with fresh veggies and topped with edible flowers. Very Maine and very on point given proximity to the botanical garden. It was a great stop. read more

I really love the beer and the food at this place I don't like and really don't appreciate the young waitress that works there. She is incredibly rude most of the time. She apparently is the only one in the brewery restaurant that knows how to use a little computer tablet. This causes her to be the only employee in the entire restaurant that can take orders and take payments from customers. She intentionally abuses this task and causes many many customers in the restaurant to wait sometimes up to an hour to place their order or to pay their bill. She seems to enjoy this power and mocks people when they ask questions. It is really a shame that she works here, because if she didn't work there, I would rate this place five stars. If you go there and she is assigned to be your waitress, please ask to have another waitress or you may regret it and have a very bad time. Very Sad.... read more
