Things can get slow, but I'm thinking that's because of inexperienced staff. Sometimes they tend to walk right by you even when you make eye contact. But for the most part, I do enjoy going. Lunch on Saturday! We went to the farmers market and stopped here for lunch. We sat outside and it was a beautiful day. The service was very good. I believe our server's name was Sierra. She was lovely. We didn't want for anything. I already had breakfast so I just ordered some fried pickles to share and I ordered the buffalo chicken dip to share. The fried pickles were really good. They were battered spears and plenty to share! The buffalo chicken dip was really hot. It was good but you must like HOT if you are going to order this. They come with colorful tortilla chips! The bees were pesky but it's early fall and they are confused. They had a "Fly Away" on the table and it seemed to have worked. I appreciated that. This is a nice lunch spot to take a break and people watch while enjoying a meal. read more

We appeared last minute, the host correctly guessed we were en route to a show at Troy Music Hall and rapidly seated us. Our waitress prompt and took our order. Sports bar atmosphere with multiple large screen TVs surrounding us. Our meal (a pizza & burger w/ onion rings) arrived quickly - despite the place being nearly filled. Of particular note were the onion rings in a light, tempura-like batter. We were in & out in time to reach our show. We will definitely be returning. read more

Everything i tasted was delicious. The waitress was fast, attentive, and accommodating. As far as ambiance, it WAS a little loud for my taste. They had a DJ that played music during commercial breaks. I'm not complaining. I enjoyed the music. But if you're not one for loud pop and hip hop music with your football this might not be for you. Came in for the Super Bowl looking for a good time with Eagles fans. Crowd was ok for a Sunday with lots of Eagles fans! Not too many at the bar, maybe 10. Here is the rub tho when I got to the bar, waited over 10 minutes for a beer as the bartender was on her phone the entire time or waited on other patrons. Looked at me 3-5 times. In fact, she spent more time on her phone than anything else. Serve someone, back to the phone. I'm not a "regular" so it seemed I was a bit ignored till she got to her regulars and her text messages. After the 10 Or so minutes, she got my drink order. Although, the pour was off. Take a look at the pic. Maybe someone didn't train properly. When I watched her pour Guinness it was a straight pour, no pause either. Weird!! Did this 3x for 3 different patrons. So not something that is any different than her norm. As a guy from Troy my whole life, I feel like this place is best for "regulars" or the college crew on a Friday night. Boneless wings. Pretzels. Fries. All the bar style food they serve is pretty good. The cheesecake zango. Bomb. Get it. Wow. So good. The drinks are decent too. You'd be surprised how easy I'm finding places can't make even a Jack and Coke. This is a place they always taste fine. My lady also seems to like the drinks here as well as the food. The bathrooms are also not to bad for a bar. There's a room in the back area you can sort of reserve for big groups. They have outdoor seating but of course it's not out there while it's cold. read more

She helped me figure out exactly what I wanted and gave valuable suggestions. Due to poor planning, we didn't have a dinner reservation prior to a show at Troy Savings Bank Music Hall earlier this week. So, we tried 2 different places that were on our list of "must-go-to" spots in Troy but neither could accommodate us due to smarter folks that DID have reservations and/or arrived at said establishments earlier. Our third attempt was Bootleggers and they were able to grab us a high top table in the back room. Much rejoicing! It's a loud, rather cavernous space but we were really just looking for a quick bite to eat. We had an hour before our show and our server asked us if we had tickets....she was fabulous. Zippy, helpful and really on top of stuff. The food took almost 30 minutes to arrive but they were pretty slammed. Our adult beverages were delivered quickly and my Guiness was a perfect pour. My veggie burger with sweet potato fries was very tasty. The burger did fall apart upon pick-up...so I had to fork and knife it. The sweet potato fries were gigantic and such a huge portion that I could barely make a dent in them (which rarely happens). I had a lovely side of chipotle mayo that was nice and spicy. The other burger ordered was a Bistro burger....but they delivered the "Juicy Lucy" burger by accident. It was eaten, anyway (no time for re-ordering) and it was just OK. There's a pocket inside the burger where some cheese and bacon are stuffed....if that's your thing...great. The bacon pieces that were inside were not quite cooked enough....and the burger meat around that pocket was an odd consistency. Regular fries were good. So...overall...a decent place to grab a beer and some pub food. read more

I've been negligent in writing this update for some reason. Previous visits had been for lunch with fellow retirees. This one was actually for lunch with my wife on New Year's Eve after two other places we walked by were closed. Of course a couple of beers here are in order with so many taps to choose from. A pint of Cape Cod's Old Man Winter ($6) at 7% abv is perfect on a Winter afternoon. So is a pint of Ubu ($5) that's been hooked up to the nitro handle. Oh, that was so creamy. My receipt says I had Troy's Favorite ($9.95). My picture shows me corned beef, cheese, egg, and I think a potato on grilled bread that looks like it could have had cinnamon in it (marble?). I don't see anything like that currently on their web page menu, but I do remember that I enjoyed it. They also have really good fries. My wife had the Catfish Tacos ($8.95), also not currently on their web page. Three nicely filled tortillas with ample amounts of catfish, sautéed peppers and slaw with a side of corn chips. She was equally pleased with her food. Service was friendly, the kitchen was prompt in preparing the food, and we're likely to return once again someday since everything continues to be solid. read more

Yes! I have high hopes for this place. I'm so glad one of the new places on this street worked out. After debating where to go for dinner, Frannie Panties C.(I beat you to the review, BOO YAH!) and I decided to walk by this place and check out the menu. When we saw veggie burger was on the menu, it was decided. The service was borderline slow but pretty fast considering there was one bartender and one server for a full bar area and maybe 10 tables. However, they were both cheerful and helpful. They both aided us in the effort to sit outside. The bartender sat us by the window so we could watch when someone left and the server ran us outside when a table was free. We both ordered the veggie burgers. I opted for the sweet potato fries and chipotle sauce instead of regular but sadly I didn't receive them. I decided not to make a fuss about it since the server was already running around like crazy and I like fries in all shapes and sizes. The veggie burger made up for it. So many places take the veggie burger eaters for granted. "Oh, they don't eat beef? They must not have taste buds! Serve them some slop between some bread!" Not this place! The buns we toasted and the whole thing was just yummy. The fries were well, fries. Nothing special but not too bad. The beer selection wasn't amazing but it was admirable. The bill! Food was average nothing overly amazing. Waitress was rude and yelled at me several times. She was clearly overwhelmed and short staffed. I had to wait longer then normal for drinks and to order. She blamed the bartender for being slow and busy. When asked about a particular dish she gave an attitude and said chicken taste like chicken. The waitress was "nice" when it came time to leave. I thought ahhh it's tip time. When the bill came I was told that my credit card was run under a different bill but it was ok because it magically was the same amount that mine was suppose to be. The table next to me over heard this and asked what my amount and what my itemized recipe showed. There was a $5 difference. The gentleman with my bill said it's ok with me I just want to leave. We ordered a variety of dishes- a cup of chili (served on a platter ringed by tortilla chips so it became a communal snack), a Greek salad, a chicken parmigiana grinder, and a turkey wrap. Everything was good/average. Nothing wowed us -but the food was solid. Three soft drinks brought the bill to $41. Not a bad choice for food if you are downtown.
