Here is an update to my review of a few years ago. My wife and I have returned at least a handful of times and it was one of the only locations in town to have the NFL ticket last year. While the men's room is still overly small and gross, the nonsensical behavior we witnessed within my first review has not been observed again. The menu never really changed and as long as the items were prepared consistently we knew what we were getting into. Service has been very good and that is with some changes behind the bar and on the floor. Is it still loud? Yeah it can be and probably still isn't a great venue for families with kids. If you do go and it seems busy you might want to ask your server how things are moving in the kitchen... we visited about a month ago and were unaware of like a million pizzas going out for some Troy or NG Police event - that night the wait was excessive but they did make it right by comping a bunch of drinks. Know your crowd, it's mostly regulars and college kids. I still believe Valenti's has the only pool table in the area. read more

Fantastic service and okay food. My chicken was overcooked (but that's better than under), and the Reuben was tough. Parm boat was excellent. I took off stars, like others did, for the smell. It was awful--cigarettes mixed with who knows what, but I cannot say I'll return for that exact issue. read more

I hadn't been back since '08 when I was a recent grad and thank my stars this place hasn't changed much at all in a good way. It has the same cozy charm of the neighborhood bar and still has some of the best wings and service I've ever had. Hot wings all the way. They are not lethal on heat level but they pour on the flavor. It's funny to remember when I first came and went from mild to medium. The wings are super addictive. Also one of my friends had the Stromboli and it was amazing and enormous. If you want a reliable reasonable local watering hole look no further. It might not be hip or trendy. Ordered a pizza when it got here took out a piece took a bite couldn't eat it. The whole bottom was black it was burnt. Called and left a message they said they would call me back and replace the pizza or credit me they never did read more

Food was good. Service was good. But the reason for the 1 star is that patrons were smoking pot right outside the exterior entrance to the dining room. We went to dinner with our son, daughter in law and 6 year old grand daughter. When the outside door was opened, the pot smell and smoke was overwhelming. My granddaughter had to be exposed to that. Upon leaving I spoke to the patrons still smoking pot outside and told them they should be ashamed of themselves for smoking pot in a location where the smoke would enter the restaurant occupied by minor children. Their response was that management told them that is where they could smoke their pot. I don't believe that but if it is true management should be ashamed of themselves. I also complained to the staff and they stated there is nothing they could do. If you looking for a place to take your family with small children to dinner, go somewhere else! read more

Placed an order through yelp for over $70-got confirmation that order was rcvd and to pick up around 8pm. Showed up to puck up food and was told that the kitchen was closed and there was no order. I was still charged for all the food. Yelp says i need to complain to grubhub-grubhub cant get through to anyone. WTH!!! I just want my money back. read more

What an awesome place! Spent some time visiting family over the past week and stumbled upon this gem. Great pub with delicious food - try the wings for sure. The owners went out of their way to talk to us and welcome us - really nice, seems like they are breathing new life into a classic neighborhood pub. For those of you old enough to remember this used to be the Albia Tavern in the early 80s run by Jack Stapleton brother of Jean Stapleton of Broadway Fame. It was the classic neighborhood bar, dive if you would, but there was never trouble. Recently I stopped in. I guess it's been Valente's for quite some time and it was a shock. The smell of piss was overwhelming. I should have known better, but I sat down at the half full bar. Most people were drunk at 6pm and I'm no prude and as a former flyer for the Navy no stranger to crude language, but this place took the cake. Sat for 10 minutes caught the eye of the bartender several times; she immediately looked away each time. I left never to return. read more

UPDATE: It's now called the Villa Valenti Pub, which is the most popular place to go out drinking in the Albia/Wynantskill area. The parking lot is very tight, so there are lots of vehicles parked along Pawling Ave. One of my former classmates is a bartender here on the weekends. OLD REVIEW (3/2007): My buddy and I enjoy the food, beer, and atmosphere at Valenti's. They have live bands too! We enjoy the Chicken Parm dinner, which is a generous portion over spaghetti served with garden salad & bread. We dip the bread into the sauce, which has a bit of sweetness. The draft beer is served by the glass or pitcher. The pizza here is good too! read more

This is a great neighborhood pub. We enjoyed a delicious burger on 2/2/24 and the fresh cut fries are amazing. Why would you ever go to an Italian named pub on Saint Patrick's Day? Well, because it was Third Thursday Tavern Time when a group of us gather to eat pizza, wings, mozzarella sticks with raspberry sauce, and whatever else on the menu sounds cool and inviting. Apparently, a lot of other people, many wearing the green, also showed up to play trivia, madly root on their bracket teams, or just to party. Luck of the Irish for us, we had reserved a table in a corner behind the trivia speakers where it was still a challenge for the eight of us to communicate around the table. The din was louder than a stadium filled with a GAA governed Gaelic football game. With pitchers of Ommegang and Guinness on the table the first round of Mozzarella Sticks arrived. While thought to be a bit salty, they were getting thumbs up from the 4Ts trivia team. The raspberry sauce scored a goal and was considered by some the best encountered since the TTTT tour started. Parmesan-garlic wings and medium-hot regular wings arrived next. Personally, of the two, I preferred the medium-hot wings, but I now know that I would order hotter wings if I were to return. The couple of wings that I tried were meaty and moist, but nothing exceptional. I also would have preferred less Parmesan and garlic on those wings. I'm not sure what others thought (I couldn't hear them talking very well.) Our three pizzas arrived soon after. I think there may have been a consensus that the Fra Diavolo was the favorite. It had their homemade tomato sauce, mozzarella, hot Italian sausage, and chopped cherry peppers on top. There was a nice amount of spiciness to it and good sized chunks of decent sausage. The Villa Special pizza has their tomato sauce, mozzarella, provolone, roasted peppers, onions, and basil. It tasted a bit sweet to me after the Fra Diavolo, but there was a nice creaminess with the blend of cheeses. No spiciness. The Buffalo Wing pizza was topped with their wing sauce, mozzarella, and chicken. Blue cheese was served on the side. There was some spiciness to the wing sauce, but different and not like the spiciness of the Fra Diavolo. I hadn't noticed any of this spiciness on those medium wings. The dough of all the pizzas was flavorful, not too thick, had some char spots along some edges, but lacked any crispiness to its bottom. This did aid, however, in folding a slice while eating. Considering how busy the place was, I was impressed with the quality of our service. She was patient with us, available when we needed her, and cleared our table of used plates and trays. We had the hankering for some pizza so we ordered a large pepperoni and sausage, well done and extra thin. WOW! They nailed it! It's a bar with a full service kitchen. The portions are huge, and good Italian faire. The atmosphere is very cool: typical bar scene with nice lighting, pool table, jukebox, football games on TV. Wish it were in my neighborhood. read more

Went to Villa Valenti recently, pizza tasted frozen. I really hope this isn't true. They've always had excellent pizza in the past. Will try it again. This place has character. And that's not just the character from being packed on a Saint Patrick's Day evening. The character of this place is in the walls. It's in the beams. It's in the staff. Maybe it's seen better days, I don't know. What I do know is that the good things about the experience outweighed the bad. And that would bring me back here. And on the next visit, I'd be smart enough to know which things to avoid. The Good Stuff: - Raspberry Melba Sauce: They use the good kind with the seeds in it - Blue cheese sauce: Thick, flavorful, more sour cream than mayo - Medium wing sauce: Good stuff, a step beyond just Frank's and butter - Garlic parm sauce: Has wing sauce mixed in for a taste sensation - Fra Diavolo pizza: The hot cherry peppers make it (ask for more) - Pizza end crust: Loving the burnished color and occasional bubble - Pitchers of Ommegang and Guinness were $15 The Issues: - Pizza's bottom crust needed more structure (next time ask for well-done) - "Crispy" wings weren't quite crispy (next time ask for "super extra crispy") - Buffalo Chicken pizza was both dry and greasy, which seems impossible The mozz sticks were good. The first batch were more aggressively seasoned, which I like when pairing them with a sweet raspberry sauce. But I do prefer the thinner or lighter breading. The second batch didn't quite have the same oompf, but great melba sauce makes up for a lot. And while there wasn't anything wrong with the creamier cheese on top of the Villa signature pizza, I'd probably opt for something with a bit more of a flavor punch next time. Really, I'm glad to have discovered this place. It's better than some. Not as good as others. And I'd love to go back on a night when there isn't any trivia. That dude was loud, and I was surprised that he was set up in the dining room instead of the bar. Maybe that's because of the holiday, or maybe that's just how the Villa Valenti Pub rolls. First time in and the ambiance is very welcoming. Had a chance to meet the new owners and they made us feel like we were regulars that had been coming for years. It's a little drive for RPI students, but their burgers are the BEST deals ever. My friends and I would frequent here for their burgers all the time. They keep it very simple, but for 5 bucks you get a nice 1/2lb burger and fries. I always got the bacon cheeseburger, and asked for a side of bbq sauce, which they gave for free. Now that I live near DC, I dearly miss the price of this simple, yet well cooked burger. The place has LCD tvs, service is medicore, and parking can be tight...but seriously their burger deals are well worth it. read more

For pub style food they've really gone down hill. I went with a group of 5 people total. My girlfriend, her 2 sisters, and her brother in law. The waitress came right over and took our drink orders, and was pretty attentive to check on us until we were ready to order. My girlfriends sisters both got quesadillas, brother in law grabbed a burger, my lady got a sandwich, and I grabbed a personal BBQ chicken pizza. As an appetizer we also got fried mushrooms. Now I haven't been here in a few years, but the fried mushrooms were about 1/3 of the size that I remember. They also served them on pretty fancy plates for being pub food. Maybe when their 4 star place burned down they got confused, but if I'm paying for cheap pub food, I do expect there's plenty in the basket. The food came out reasonably fast but the quesadillas took extra time for some reason. To be polite we waited for their food to finish coming out to eat, so it was just sitting in front of us for an extra 10 minutes while we waited for the quesadillas. I feel like those are literally the quickest things we ordered. On the upside, everyone I went with seemed to like their food. My girlfriends brother in law said the burger was tasteful but a little overcooked. All in all not bad. The quesadillas were also apparently pretty good, all the vegetables on the side were fresh and seemed to be in good shape. My girlfriend also loved her sandwich. Again the portions were small though. The fries on the side of the burger and sandwich were very few in number. Not a big deal to either of them, but like I said, the portions were much smaller than they used to be. My pizza had to much sauce but I'm sure if next time I ask for light sauce it would be to my liking. This has always been my favorite pizza place in Troy and I used to be all about recommending it to people in that area to eat. Based on what our dinner cost and the fact the portions have gone down in size, I guess I'll be trying other places when I'm in the area. Add that to the fact the parking lot is awful and tight, it's just no longer the place it used to be. I will say the bar portion of the place seems to be the same. Similar prices as anywhere else for beer or mixed drinks, and my girlfriends sister really enjoyed her multicolored whatever she ordered, so at least they still have the bar atmosphere going for them. They also do karaoke on Fridays and bands on Saturdays. Haven't been to either in a while but usually is pretty fun. read more

A group of friends and I went to The Villa Valenti Pub last last night for a birthday celebration. We were so pleased with our experience. The food was served expediently it was delicious. The wings are really something to write home about! Our server (owner) was extremely attentive to our group. I don't think any of us ever had an empty glass or a dirty plate in front of us the entire time. We chose the Villa Valenti Pub because they offered karaoke close to home, and we will definitely be coming back for the Friday night Karaoke. Came in craving Italian food and I am so happy I did. Today their special was Chicken parm! The side salad had homemade Balsamic dressing which rocks! 2 big pieces of chicken, pasta perfectly cooked and the sauce would make any Italian proud. 2 toasted garlic breads! Yummmmmm! I just can't abide this place anymore. The smell of urine when you walk through the side door and the stench from the keg lines is simply overpowering. The take out is consistently wrong. I understand that there has been quite a few changes in ownership, but do something about that odor. If you can't you should close. read more

this is a really decent neighborhood joint. it has an association with the now defunct Vila Valenti restaurant that used to be on NY 150 a bit to the south, but i don't know the details of that association. Allison had a salad which she thought was really well done. my burger was a real burger, chargrilled, and not a meat puck from a box. i think that the traditional medium(rare, well) scale is actually trustworthy here, unlike many places these days. they have some good craft beers on draft as well as the usual subjects. the service was friendly and excellent. the only caution is that the place can be pretty loud on nights where there's a sporting event of NY interest. we were there during a NY Giants game and it was really loud at times. read more

My boyfriend and I recently moved to the Albia/Wynantskill area and Villa Valenti quickly came our favorite place for take-out. Their pizza is, in my opinion, the best in the area, and I have dreams about their garlic parm wings. I just tried their chicken sandwich last night and it was equally delicious and cooked perfectly. All of their sandwiches come with seasoned steak fries, which are amazing! I've never been inside the pub so I can't comment on the cleanliness and staff, but whenever we order take-out the delivery people are always cheerful, friendly, and fast. For a pub, this is pretty good. They have your standard pub fare - pizza, wings, nachos, sandwiches, etc. - and I have had a little bit of all those things one time or another, and I have no real complaints about any of it. The only thing you should keep in mind when you go - if you are not a football lover, maybe stay away on a football night. The crowd gets really rowdy because they have big screens for the games, and service can be a little slower cause it can be busy. But, if watching the big game at the bar is your thing - then this is right up your alley! Otherwise, on most other nights, either dining in or delivery is the standard time you'd expect for either of those services. I prefer the pizza a bit more to the sandwiches - it really is their bread and butter, and they do a really good wing as well. But, if you really aren't feeling pizza, you will be just as safe ordering their sandwiches, cause they are pretty yummy too. read more

This review is on Food,Staff,Cleanliness of the facility, and Other events observed during the multiple visits. Food:The food is great here.The wings are awesome since they changed the sauce. The pizza was good but extremly greasy.The Loaded Nachos are the best bang for the buck. The meals you get here are great and are good for the price. Drinks: They have a wide variety of mixed drinks and beers on tap. the pub did for a while $1 shots but have not seen or heard of them doing it since i was here. Staff: The staff is are friendly when you can get them to your table to take your order. On almost each time i came in later in the evening around 9pm i could not get a server to come over one of the DJ's staff member got the bar tender for us. The bar tenders are no very friendly at night they will not hold a conversation like other bars I've been to. It was more of here is you drink and get lose feel. Cleanliness of the facility: The pub was clean in the dinning area and around the bar everytime I was there.The Bathrooms are a totally different story. The bathrooms are as bad as it gets. The smell is sometimes overwhelming and are never clean. The doors don't shut for the bathroom stall. On more then two occasion I witnessed customers doing drugs in the side lot were you park and the kitchen staff just watched with out saying anything to the to move them from the side door. They need to clean this up cause I would not bring my family here or even a date here unless you are into drug friendly atmosphere. The parking is very tight in the parking lot but lot's of street parking. Other events observed: The pub has Small HD tv's in each booth and about 7 large HD tv's around the bar. No cover charge for events other then when there is bands playing. This pub has a wide and great variety of entertainment going on durning the week and weekend. On Friday and Saturday night they have a live DJ. The DJ has 2 Dance staff that gets the party going and keeps it going all night long. The DJ has some very explicit music videos he play's and some that can make you sick to your stomach other then that they do a grea job. They have triva night with great prizes on tuesday night. read more

My co workers ordered food for me after surgery they paid and my son had to pick it up. The order was not found and many phone calls needed to be done. Then they charged my son when it was already paid for. My friend called to inquire why I was charged and a young male answered the phone And was less than helpful and proceeded to make excuses. She asked for manager and he never put phone on hold and she heard this young male calling her fowl and disgusting names. She got the manager who really didn't seem to care. Won't ever go there after this! Customer service was horrible! Oh and the pizza wasn't that great! read more
