This is a restaurant/bar that serves American BBQ and Southern soul food in a country-inspired environment. We visited late on a Saturday evening and easily got a table for 2 without reservations. I was surprised it wasn't crowded... maybe because it was the weekend after Christmas? I really liked the rustic "Wild West"-themed interior! The space has neon cowboy decor, barn wood furnishings, Western wall art, saddles, dark lighting, etc. One thing felt completely off, though... to my disappointment, they didn't play ANY country music that night!!! :( Booooo. There's a large bar, plenty of TV screens, booth seating, high top tables, and even a selfie machine! The ambiance is fun, lively, and casual. It's a good spot for a date, a girls night out, celebrations, or for watching sports. They also host events like live music performances and line dancing. The menu is a blend of classic Southern and Southwestern (Tex-Mex) dishes. The most popular items are the signature BBQ meats (slow-cooked beef brisket, chopped pork shoulder, smoked chicken, St. Louis-style ribs), brisket sandwiches, birria tacos, & quesadillas. There are endless options for drinks like themed cocktails, wine, beer, shots, and seltzers. They offer plenty of deals including Happy Hour Mon-Fri until 7pm, daily specials/discounts, NFL game day specials, and a brunch on Sat & Sun. What I ordered: *3 Smoked Brisket Birria Tacos $17 (includes oaxaca cheese, shredded brisket, onions, & cilantro with a side of consomme) - Oaxaca cheese + smoked brisket = perfection in every bite! The tortillas were fresh and soft. There was a generous portion of meat in each taco. The brisket was juicy, beefy, and packed with flavor! I loved how gooey and creamy the cheese was. The only disappointment was the consomme - it was bland, watered down, and under seasoned... It's a shame, because when made well, it has a rich and deeply savory flavor. On the bright side, they gave me green & orange salsa that absolutely SLAPPED - both sauces added some tang and spice to the tacos! *18 Hour Hickory Smoked Beef Brisket $26 (includes fries, dill pickles, coleslaw, and toast) - Slow and steady wins the race... I got 5 juicy slabs of brisket, cooked low and slow. It was tender, smoky, and well seasoned with a texture that melted in your mouth! While it was delicious, it didn't stand out compared to other BBQ spots. Do NOT compare this to authentic Texas BBQ. *Corn Bread with honey butter $6 - This is different from traditional corn bread that's usually served as a square slice; they give you 5-6 pieces in the shape of a mini muffin. They were buttery and lightly sweet with a toasted corn flavor. The outside was slightly crispy while the inside was soft and crumbly. Although they were good, they could've been more moist. The sweet & salty honey butter dip definitely elevated the overall taste with its lightly whipped texture. I wouldn't order this again. The service was average, but could've been better. We had to wait for someone to greet and seat us since there wasn't a host/hostess when we arrived. Our server was friendly, but didn't check in on us frequently enough, so we had to flag him down ourselves. Overall, this place is worth a shot! The brisket is a must try. It may not be the best BBQ of your life, but the atmosphere and happy hour/daily deals make it worth a stop. P.S. Stopped by for happy hour while waiting on my friend. Fairly nice day before the cold set in. Waitress came out quickly, very attentive and nice. I thought happy hour started at 2 but it's actually 3pm. I ordered the garlic parmesean wings and the garlic parmesean fries. For drink had the Aperol Spritz. The garlic wings and fries did not dissapointment. They were fried well and were basked the in the glory of what is garlic parmesean sauce; needless to say, the sauce was saucing. Finger licking good. I saved the rest for my trip since I couldn't finish it all. I appreciate the shavings of garlic parmesean on the fries as well. (Can you tell that's my fav sauce?) Of course the Spritz was good. I would def always reccomend boots n bones. I have to say, the food is good. The energy was fantastic for a Saturday night especially with the MLB 2025 World Series shown on most screens. There are plenty of TVs where they play various sports. This was a nice reminder of when I traveled down south; just for a little bit. It's a fun and lively bar and all seatings are in booths very retro. I like the rustic, cozy vibe and western theme they have. Ordered the platter 4 with no appetizers before and we thought we'd finish it. We didn't. The servings were just right for a party of 4. This is my 2nd time going here and both experiences were exactly the same. The venue is such a vibe. Always decorated nicely and a great rotation of music from country, to pop, to hip hop. They also have a speakeasy on the bottom level. They also have a selfie machine by the hostess stand with a saddle you can take pictures on. A great place to grab a drink. Now the food...truly terrible. It's really a shame since everything else is good but if you are a foodie like me...you leave disappointed every time. I have tried probably 5 or 6 different menu items and each one was worst than the last. The best items are only ok. Nothing was good. This place seriously lacks flavor and seasoning. I did the three amigos tacos, and all three meats tasted the exact same. When you order three different kinds of meats, they should be separated by flavor profile. I was warned this place wasn't good and shouldn't have tried it tonight. The bacon wrapped jalapeños - those are not supposed to be cooked in a way that your bacon is soggy either. They call that spicy mayo on top I believe, and it tasted like mayonnaise with a little bit of paprika in it. Definitely skip this place and find better food elsewhere. read more

Was this place quiet? No (simply put, it's not that kind of place). Was the service super fast? No. (They were pretty busy even at nearly 4pm). But was it good food, with super friendly service? Yes! We visited during a March madness game and all eyes were watching the nearly 1 zillion tv screens surrounding us. If basketball was my thing, this def would have been a dream location for it. Lol. This place is a dangerous joke. My brother ordered a simple CHICKEN sandwich -- he is severely allergic to seafood -- and within TWO bites he went into an allergic reaction. Sneezing, coughing, his throat tightening. We had to rush him to the bathroom and leave immediately for the hospital. Whether they gave him the wrong item or there was cross-contamination, it doesn't matter -- both are unacceptable and show they have ZERO control over food safety. And the manager? Absolutely unbelievable. No apology, no concern, no basic human decency. Just attitude and rudeness. He didn't care at all that someone was having an allergic reaction in his restaurant. Instead, they still charged us for the sandwich that triggered the reaction. I work in the industry -- I know how serious allergies are, and how strictly kitchens must prevent cross-contamination. Boots & Bones FAILED on every level. Unsafe food practices, careless staff, and a manager who clearly shouldn't be anywhere near customer service. This place is a serious risk. I wouldn't send anyone here with allergies -- or anyone who expects even the slightest bit of professionalism. read more

The girls and I got together for drinks and food. When I arrived I parked a little distance because parking is hard. I walked in and they greeted and walked me to the lower area like a speakeasy. It was dimly lit and the music was great. Miranda was our server and she was very nice just super busy. I think she was the only server. I ordered the chardonnay and that was good. My friends enjoyed their food of the salad and mac. My friend said the mac was just a little soupy. Came here on a Sunday afternoon with a friend. I parked in a near by parking deck. The place is cool with lots of dim lighting and plenty of tv's. I ordered a berry mocktail and my friend ordered a margarita. Both were good. They also give you pork rinds to snack on wail you wait. I dont eat pork but my friend said they were ok. I ordered a pulled chicken sandwich and my friend ordered the whisky burger. Both came with fries. The food came out fairly quick. My sandwich was ok. The chicken was very dry like sand, and took a while to chew, and my bottom bun was soggy af which wasnt that pleasant. My friend had the same issue with his bun. The buns they use cannot stand up to the meats they put on there. The bathroom wasnt clean. No toilets flushed,Very dim lighting, and no toilet paper or paper towels. Luckily I carry my own paper. All in all, it was underwhelming. A one and done restaurant. I wouldnt drive 45 min to come here again. But this place is ok if you want to sit at the bar, get drinks, and watch sports while eating lack luster food. read more

My review is months old - whoops. My friends planned a surprise celebratory dinner for my recent engagement. We were a group of 11. Our waitress was Madison. She was absolutely amazing and really patient. The manager (or owner - sorry not sure!) was also extremely attentive and friendly. We observed him helping his staff and he was respectful toward them which we respected and appreciated. We had a great experience. The food and drinks were good. I absolutely loved Boots & Bones! Came here for one of my best friend's birthday dinner and we had the best time! It was the perfect setup, with the US Open playing on one screen and the Yankees game on another, with delicious food being served to us right away! The only confusing thing is that we had like 5 different servers/ people coming to help us. But, the food was so good that I didn't really care! I had the delicious truffle mac & cheese and even though it was a side, it was so filling that was enough for the night! We're living in Jc less than a year now and finally tried this place. It's very loud, so I wouldn't recommend for a first date or if you really want to have convo while eating. My boyfriend got the Cajun pasta which had a kick to it and I got the crispy chicken sandwich which was fine. The cocktails aren't strong in my opinion so I stuck with margaritas. We were disappointed to be seated by our host with a cluster of other customers when there were private and open seats/booths all over the restaurant. Some of the seating is way to close so patrons are next to each other even if they want privacy. The service is good - they're attentive and cheery but prob wouldn't go back since we like more low-key and quiet dining experiences. We had a reservation for 11 and were seated in a corner booth which seemed to be the best they could do with such a large group. Servers offered complimentary shots and were super kind. I ordered expresso martinis and they were not the best. Tasted like vodka. I ordered a frozen expresso martini and that was better but just okay. I ordered two because why not but wish it was better. I ordered the birria quesadilla and that was VERY good. Definitely recommend! We were given pork rinds for starters. I didn't try them but they looked good. Soo came here because there was a lot of hype about it on social media. This spot is so cute inside with the design and set up it take you on a ride to the country side! Service was spectacular! Our waiter was friendly and let us know about the happy hour deals! He was very attentive in a good way making sure to clean up the plates on our table once we were done and ask if we wanted more drinks once we were almost till the end ! Food was tasty! I was full off just eating half of the grilled chicken sandwich! Was glad I could bring some left overs for the next day! My friend said the birria tacos were also delicious and well made. My other friend said her Cajun pasty was tasty however complained that the salmon was a bit dry. The nachos were a good starter we added the shredded chicken and were not disappointed.
