Food was bland, not too tasteful. Ordered small plates (what you see in the pic and a side of French fries). Only one drink of alcohol and 5 cokes, total was $160.00 lol. Def not worth the price for that taste. I don't mind spending a bag but I want the food to taste better.

A few friends introduced me to Harry's Daughter this year. We went over early on a Friday evening and I wasn't disappointed. We only had cocktails but the drinks were delicious. I had two of the Rias rum punch and I had no regrets. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Great tropical ambiance and quick service.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Perfect place to catch up with friends and have conversation over drinks.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Arrived on a warm evening in May to find Harry's Daughter jumping on a Tuesday night. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The interior is warmly lit with tasteful tropical decor.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]There was a live band playing old R&B with some newer pop songs sprinkled in.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I started with a bit of sorrel - hibiscus tea for the unfamiliar - which was delicately sweet with a ginger finish. As to mains - I ordered the jerk chicken with pumpkin rice and cabbage. I also decided to be a bit decadent and order plantains on the side. Long story short - the food was absolutely fantastic. The chicken was moist with a kick that wasn't overwhelming. The accompanying rice and cabbage were delicious. Lest I forget- the plain rains were a caramelized delight with an almost orange flavored sauce. 10/10 would come back and look forward to doing so soon.

Horrible Customer Service!!!!! No consideration for customers that have been waiting for near an hour. Called to reserve and was told I had to come in to reserve . I called when I was close to make sure if there were seats and what the wait was told 15-20mins...come in and make the reservation. AGAIN. Finally get here and put our names on the list for 3 and told them I called. Then proceeded to wait from 810p to 9:25pm watching Tom, Dick, Harry, Suzy, Janet and Dawn...go in , come out, wait for others and go in with friends and still I wait. It literally rained, stopped and got so freezing cold and I stayed outside waiting with my mother and daughter. Thankfully about 45mins in a car was moving from the front of the establishment and I was able to bring my car and sit out front. Almost 9:30pm still waiting. Ok, finally got in at 9:35pm and got our drinks and some fish fritters (Fish Cakes), feeling a little more welcomed...thanks for the apology!! The food was good....music was excellent!! Got off to a rocky start, but we'll see how the night goes! Check was a bit much, even if you raised your prices...Mac wasn't a full entree size. Then you add your own gratuity assuming it won't be up to what you think it should be. You guys have to do better than that!!! Ridiculous!! After that check and treatment I feel like Harry's Red-headed step-child that he keeps locked up in his attic. Thanks Harry!!! Looking at the bill the day after...We Did NOT get a SORREL and it was added to the bill. It was three of us...2 Shirley temples & a Virgin Pina.. We also didn't finish until around 10:45pm. I guess the Sorrel was the Extra Unnecessary Cherry on top of a Bad Restaurant Experience. The $60 order we took home for my Boyfriend & son had such small portion sizes of the rice and plantains, the goat could have been much more tender and too much cabbage. Personally I could have gotten twice the amount of food for half of that $60 and better in texture variety. So you are literally paying for the party vibe, crowded club like atmosphere...it's truly just a tiny meetup spot!!! Final Assessment

This spot was on my list for a while. Finally got a chance to visit today. I will gladly be going back at some point. I'm from NY, so Caribbean food comes a dime a dozen. But living in NJ, it's been tough to find. This place was really nice. Good staff, good drinks, good food. The jerk Mac and cheese was a hit for me. Definitely enough to share. The oxtail were good. A little more fat than I like but flavor was there. The jerk egg rolls were pretty good too. The crab appetizer was spicy but also tasty. After tax and tip. We spent about $175. I miss the days when food wasn't this expensive. But, I enjoyed my time.

Loveeeeee the coconut rum punch! I order two of them that's how good it was. Jerk chicken egg rolls were delicious, a bit spicy but good. The Mac and cheese was very bland, this was sent back. The honey wings did not taste good either. They sprinkled honey over some lightly seasoned wings. Curry goat was good! But I've had better. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I think i would go back for drinks, apps and a vibe.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They played good music. Our server was decent.

Amazing restaurant! The food here is so flavorful. You can't go wrong with any dish (I think). The service was excellent and the plane was cozy with a DJ. I had the: Salt fish fritters: 100% recommend. So so good. Absolutely love them Shrimp curry: super flavorful and filling.

I've wanted to come here for a while because of the videos I've seen on social media. A friend and I came here for brunch. The staff was very helpful and friendly. For appetizers we had the saltfish fritters and jerk egg rolls. Definitely recommend both of those appetizers. They were very flavorful and piping got when we got them. For my main I got the banana flambe French toast which someone next to me recommended because of how much she enjoyed hers. It was very good and it wasn't overly sweet or too indulgent. My friend got the buttermilk pancakes which I tried as well. The lemon maple butter really elevates it and take its over the top. In my opinion everything we had was a 10 out of 10. I would love to come back to try their dinner.

Returner here. Consistency is so important to me and they always deliver. We were there for Valentine's Day. Reservations were booked in advance so we were seated immediately. Tried a new appetizer this time- the beyond beef patties- just delicious. The patty crust and the flavor in the filling was amazing. But I also ordered the saltfish fritters again. They are always a hit. And the soup is another go-to that did not disappoint. I love the fish and pumpkin rice so I did not deviate and it did not disappoint. (chef's kiss). I did spot the curry fish on another table so I'll consider it for next time. The manager (not sure if she is the owner) stopped by to say hi and she even remembered us. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was a pleasant vibe with a mixed crowd while sipping on my delicious strawberry pina colada and dancing in my seat.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Food was rockin...ambiance was on point. We were glad we tried it. We had chicken wings, jerk egg rolls, shepherds pie (best my husband has ever eaten he said )... Our server was also amazing...we will go back for sure.

The food was delicious. The music was bumping and the staff were very nice. Let's get back to the food! I had the short rib bake and it was so savory. Also the hibiscus sangria was strong and tasty. Ok for the price this was also a win! I loved this place and I look forward to making my way back when I come to town.

Every course was delicious, beautifully prepared, and exceeded expectations. That alone would have made for a great evening. What truly made the experience exceptional, however, was our server, Kyle. Having managed fine dining restaurants myself and dined at many high-end establishments, I pay close attention to service. While this isn't marketed as fine dining, Kyle delivered a level of service that absolutely was. His attention to detail, professionalism, and cleanliness were second to none. After every course, he didn't simply clear plates... he thoroughly cleaned and reset the table with a level of care and precision that I honestly haven't seen from a server in a very long time, anywhere. Every detail was handled seamlessly, making each course feel like a fresh dining experience. Kyle elevated an already fantastic meal into a truly memorable one. Restaurants can teach the mechanics of service, but genuine hospitality and pride in your work are much harder to find. Kyle clearly has both. The kitchen deserves compliments for an excellent meal, but Kyle deserves recognition for providing some of the best service I've experienced in years. He's a tremendous asset to your restaurant, and I hope his hard work is recognized.

If you're sober or the night's DD, you'll enjoy the tart and fruity Blackberry Jab with lemon, pineapple, pomegranate, and of course, blackberry. However, save your stomach space for elsewhere. We were intrigued by the unique-sounding dishes (no mozzie sticks here, y'all) and excited to try them. But words on paper didn't translate to tastes on tongue--most things felt off or fell flat. - Duck Poutine: As someone born and raised in the Great White North, my arteries basically pump poutine (or are clogged by them, I'm not sure which anymore). So I was looking forward to this duck confit twist on my national dish. Unfortunately, what I got was an over-peppered cauldron of soggy fries with a few nubs of cheese curds in an oddly seasoned gravy. It might be the only time in my life I've pushed away a plate of poutine. No bueno. - Brussels Sprouts Caesar: This was fine, though I failed to taste any miso in the dressing. Generous portions size. - Spicy Elk Meatballs: Spicy tomato sauce, yes. But the elk again tasted over-peppered. And I'm all for trying new meats, but I'm not sure elk translates well as a meatball--too tough and chewy for my liking, even when drowning in aforementioned sauce. The accompanying swiss chard and goat cheese polenta weren't bad--wish there'd been more of those. Service was decent the first time we visited, but not so great the second time. It's also worth noting that the inside is DARK dark and the menu is via QR code, so prepare to blind everyone with your phone throughout the night unless you were bitten by a radioactive spider with night vision.

The weather was absolutely ideal -- warm enough to enjoy being outside but still crisp, with very little humidity. Basically, rooftop weather perfection. The biggest draw here is, without question, the view. The space itself is beautiful, with a nice mix of indoor and outdoor seating, but seeing the Manhattan skyline illuminated at night is what makes this place special. It's one of those views that reminds you why people romanticize New York and the surrounding area so much. They offer a full food menu, although it appeared to be available primarily for guests seated indoors. The outdoor area seemed to focus more on drinks and lighter bites. Just know before you go: this is definitely a splurge spot. Everything is priced at a premium, so prepare yourself accordingly. Unfortunately, the service experience got off to a rough start. Both the security staff and hostess came across as unwelcoming and not particularly friendly. Whether they were overwhelmed or simply having an off night, it didn't create the best first impression. My biggest disappointment, however, was the restroom situation. By around 9:30 p.m., the bathroom was already in pretty terrible condition. Honestly, it was hard to believe it had deteriorated that much in just a few hours, and it gave the impression that it may not have been properly cleaned earlier in the day. Overall, Rooftop at Exchange Place delivers exactly what most people come for: spectacular views, a beautiful atmosphere, and an unforgettable skyline backdrop. Just be prepared for premium prices, a potentially lukewarm welcome, and hope that someone has checked on the bathrooms before you arrive.

I waited in line for an hour and 15 minutes and only received a wristband as the fireworks were going off and after arguing with the manager Jude. He consistently let walk ins in before dealing with any reservations. We also paid 35 dollars in advance. Once I got up to the rooftop, I was informed I would have to wait longer as they were kicking people out of our table. I asked to speak with a manager and again was forced to wait 35 minutes and witnessed a hostess quit mid shift. I do want to note, while waiting in line, a kind security guard informed me that the manager was letting people in who were late to their reservation. For example, a couple came at 8:00 for their 7:15 reservation and were let in. This was a horrible experience and will never be back. I understand the craziness of the 4th of July but this could have been avoided. Do not spend your money here, there are plenty of amazing places in Jersey City. Check out District! We went there instead and it was 10/10.
