He checked on us often without being overbearing, and was prompt with anything we needed. His friendly attitude and attentive service made our dinner even more enjoyable. Sat at the bar. It took a while, but eventually i had to wave at the bartenders for some menus. Mixed drinks were ok- too sweet for me, but im sure many people like that. The food: the tacos were a complete disaster but the egg rolls were decent. The vibe was decent. I think having an experienced bartender would help. Someone who is paying attention to the customers sitting at their bar and offering options. Went straight from work on a Tuesday for happy hour, and wow--what a find! The happy hour menu is just $5 per item, and we tried the Honey Butter Savory Chicken Wings, cheese fries, and fried chicken sandwich. Everything was freshly made and absolutely delicious--perfect for the taste buds. They have all kinds of selective foods you can order. Make sure you don't miss the honey butter wings--they're a must! I even got a sneak peek at some items not yet on the menu and spotted Chicken Tikka Masala with garlic naan, one of my all time favorites. I asked about it, and the Chef & owners were kind enough to make it for me on the house--even though it wasn't officially available yet. I took it home to go, had it for dinner and let me tell you: No lie, "This is the most authentic Chicken Tikka Masala I've ever had." You must try it once you get the chance to order it. Absolutely perfectly made and delicious with the garlic naan!!!! I'll be ordering it every time I have an Indian cuisine craving. Can't wait to try the rest of the menu. I also love the self-pour drink setup--I may have had four glasses of wine, lol! My favorite was the Ricco Mango Moscato--highly recommend. The place itself is clean, relaxing, and has a great vibe. You can even work remotely at the bar or sit wherever you like. You get a card to pour drinks anytime, and it automatically charges your card--super convenient. This is a nice spot for happy hour. Prices very reasonable. Very airy location for warmer as well. As a Jersey City resident it was very convenient to take the light rail which stopped right in front of the restaurant. The food was really tasty! I had the loaded fries and fried chicken sandwich. This place is nasty. There were dead flies in my Sprite. My strawberry garnish had mold on it. I didn't even drink it. I decided to leave. I will never come back unless MAYBE I know they get their stuff together, and properly clean and disinfect the whole damn place. Interesting concept of sorts in the Newport Mall. I've seen these self service taps before in Charleston, at one of the hotel bars. So this wasn't new to me, but it wasn't something I thought was very common. Anyhow, I came here on a super slow Friday afternoon, so I had my pickings of what I wanted to drink. There's a bit of a process which takes getting used to. You have to sign up, give your card, tap in and tap out, etc. So not easy for a newcomer, but straightforward. There is free wifi, but the connection + service is a bit spotty as you're sitting closer to the bar so you might be better off just using your phone and sitting closer to the exit (or further near the mall). Not really sure what's going on with the restaurant side of things as I didn't enjoy any food here. read more

Tried here on Friday night and left impressed and satisfied. The service was fantastic and everyone was very friendly and attentive. They came by frequently to fill up water and check if we had everything. The pour your own beer is a fun concept and I like that it's charged by the ounce. It allows you to do beer flights and sample many beers. The food was also great. I had the Whiskey Barrel burger and it was one of the most flavorful, juicy burgers I have had in a while. The website clearly states the $5 Happy Hour runs Monday-Friday from 3PM to 6PM, but our waitress told us it ends at 5PM when we tried to order at 5:10PM. Frustrating to be denied the deal when the website says otherwise. To make matters worse, we ordered a holiday flight and waited over 20 minutes before having to flag down our waitress--turns out she forgot about it entirely. The self-pour tap concept is cool, and I wanted to like this place, but the service issues and misinformation about happy hour times left a bad impression. 3rd time here and the novelty has become annoyance. Having to fill a card like Dave & Busters is tedious; as is guessing how much you should add like pre paying at a gas station. It should be straightforward but there are all these annoying hurdles. They say you can add funds online, but on the phone there's no way to sign into your account without finding some secretive unlisted site, so you're still stuck going to the bartender. And it turns out you can't empty your card. My final pour was cut off with nearly a dollar left. So they screw you at a nickel and dime level, which is pretty cheeky. For as long as this place took to open, it's insane how poorly thought out all the processes are. On top of which the beer selection is still super mid. They should really hire someone with better taste for the taps. And a full time IT person. Am I gonna have to get a pre movie drink at Cheesecake Factory like the dad from Stepbrothers from now on...? read more

I am not sure if it was because I wasn't ordering mix drinks and that I just wanted beer. Tapville only accepts card. So there goes at least 10-20 percent of your patrons. Also I waited a good amount of time to pay my tab. Not sure what I was tipping for because I got up and poured my own beer. Not worth it at all, save your money! It's a bar that doesn't play game sound during the NFL playoffs and chooses to play pop / radio music rather than the games.
