    Banana bread latte
    Jenny R.

A cute and delicious breakfast spot on the west side of Indy! We need more places like this over here! We took advice from other Yelpers and shared a giant cinnamon roll that was gooey and indulgent. I tried their seasonal banana bread latte and the special pancake breakfast sandwich. Never would've guessed dill pickles on a breakfast sandwich made with pancakes would work but it added zesty flavor and a good crunchy texture. You cannot reserve a table during brunch on the weekends, but we had no issue being seated immediately at 9 on a Sunday. They also have a little market attached with baked goods, fresh produce, snacks, gifts, and plants.

WHAT A GREAT PLACE! The bright colors and big smiles are so welcoming ! I have been seeing this establishment come across my Yelp feed, and I knew I had to try it. As soon as I walked in I got a whiff of the aroma and it was amazing. Though the menu is not big, I had a hard time going back and forth on what I wanted to try. I ended up with the loaded biscuit bowl, and it did not disappoint. It is not your ordinary biscuits and gravy, it's much more elevated with a hint of spice. Right up my alley. My drink did not disappoint either. I got the Max and Rhuby Highball tequila cocktail, and it was perfect. Not too sweet, but great flavor. The flies were the only thing that got under my skin...but I guess if they smelled that food, they wanted to try too. I can't wait to go back and try out their dinner!

Borage never disappoints! Tonight's choice, Fish and Chips dinner! It is always cooked perfectly and pairs with the French fries wonderfully. It always feels so nice to just be in their space, its so laid back, everyone is so friendly as well!

I finally made my way to Borage this morning. The FOOD was delicious. The pancake was as big as the plate, airy and delightful. All the food was 1000/10. Our server Allie was pleasant and attentive. The inside and outside decorated with beautifully with different flowers outside. There is accessible parking and entry way but parking lot is small. Next time Im that way the will make to the market to get some take home pastries.

If you haven't been to Borage yet make it a goal for 26. It's a great addition to Speedway. It's a fun combination of a cafe, market and bakery. A very creative food and drinks menu with a focus on local ingredients. We went for breakfast and had Cinnamon Roll Lattes and Pistachio croissants. The croissant was one of the best I've had. Definitely want to go back for brunch and dinner next.

Stopped in after a 14 hour workday. I placed an order for fish and chips. The fish was decent. There were three decent size fillets. The fries were just average. I like the way the place is decorated. It also has a lot of local affair to purchase. It's a great place to stop if you need to pick up a quick gift. I was disappointed to see the man behind the bar area blow his nose and not wash his hands. I did wait for at least 30 minutes to get my food so that was the second disappointment. For $28 I thought the food could have been seasoned better. Not sure I will go back. This is the second time I've went in and neither time was I been impressed.

Picked up some breakfast sandwiches, coffee, and pastries, and I can't wait to go back and dine in. The market side is perfection - places to sit and hang, a bar area, and a wonderful selection of trinkets, produce, and to-go food. Such a fantastic vibe and perfect addition to the area. The coffee was delicious, the pastries were incredible, and the sandwiches were exactly what you want out of a breakfast sandwich. I can't believe it took us so long to try this place! Run by incredible people, which is always a plus, and there's a parking lot?! 10/10 go now

You ever go to a place and feel like you aren't even in your own city? Borage feels like a hip place that belongs in Chicago or NYC. The inside is so well designed. I ordered the all day breakfast and added the pancake. The food is great. The staff were kind as well. The market is a nice addition as well- I can see myself popping in here more than the restaurant for a quick treat.

Delicious food, cozy seating with eclectic decor, and excellent service. They don't take reservations for breakfast/brunch so don't be discouraged when you see no reservations available. We had the biscuits and gravy, a frittata, and the Turkish poached eggs with a hash brown. Everything was delicious. The Turkish eggs were just what I wanted, light and delicious. They could have used some salt, but I was too hungry to ask for it. The hash brown was incredible. Super crunchy and a little mushy inside. It's the gold standard hash brown, promise! The Bs&Gs were made with a bacon gravy, so different from the usual but equally delightful! I loved the dressing they used on the greens that accompanied the frittata. The frittata was great too! We like swinging by the market for a coffee and a pastry occasionally. Borage is a great addition to the neighborhood.

My husband picked up cinnamon rolls from here and brought them home. The rolls were really good. He called before going and said the person he spoke to was helpful. However, whoever helped him when he actually arrived, he said wasn't very friendly and actually a bit rude. Since we didn't eat in, I can't speak to the ambiance.

Great service. Cinnamon roll and psl brown butter latte was yummy!! $14 total Love to see places decorate for Halloween. Loved the no ice sign on the door. Love all the goodies in the shop. Unique flavorful pastries available. Parking lot only holds about 16 cars so may have to park across the street. Came on a Tuesday and only a few spots open

Overall, we really like this place. It is a great spot because even if it's busy and there is a wait you can go over to the market that is connected and get a coffee and pastry while you wait. The cold brew is quite good and we got a cinnamon roll as well. The cinnamon roll was decent, I'm not a cream cheese person and if you are either, I wouldn't recommend it. But not bad. Service overall was just okay. I give them a pass because the place was pretty busy when we came in on Sunday. We were seated for over 10 mins before we got our order taken. If we didn't have coffee already, it would've been a little more annoying. When the waitress finally came, she just asked what we wanted to order and not "have you been in before" or explain the specials which was a little off putting. Also, when they dropped off the food they didn't ask if we got everything or needed anything additional. We also had to flag someone down to bring ketchup over. As far as food goes, we both had decent meals. We had the shakshuka and the biscuit bowl. The shakshuka was very spicy and good flavor which was good and the biscuit bowl was good as well. The biscuits seemed fresh and not smothered in gravy which as appreciated. Forgot to take a picture of the bowl before I dug in, sorry! :) We will definitely be back, but in all honesty disappointed in the service we got.

The start of my birthday month calls for Borage for breakfast! Started with the seasonal lattes and the humongous cinnamon roll. So very good! I had the matcha latte that had the perfect hint of orange. The cinnamon roll is a huge, gooey sponge of dough with the most delicious cream cheese frosting. We had the All Day Breakfast and the Frittata. The ADB never disappoints. Eggs of your choice, a sausage patty flavored with maple and fennel, toast hit the spot. Enough food to take home for a second breakfast! The frittata had roasted veggies and was topped with perfectly cooked bacon strips. A spring mix of salad was served as a side. The staff is super friendly. The atmosphere is bright, open and very clean. A must try!

Now we have to talk to someone if we want a salad, and point at what we want like a child. It's all your fault! Actually, it's probably for the best because the salad bar did look delectable and immaculate. So many fresh a clean vegetables! They also have an area with soup and chili, which the staff will also help you with. There are some tables in the salad bar area, so you can sit and eat your food inside the shop. Lots of old fashioned candy, hot sauce and barbecue sauce, novelty sodas, so many different flavors of Moon Pies, and random things like salted peanuts in the shell. It's also a little farmers market, so you'll find lots of fresh fruits and vegetables. The Famous Tomato feels like a hidden gem, even though it's right there in plain sight in Speedway. For some reason, I would pass by it and I thought it was a Fazoli's? It's most certainly not, though. When you step inside, you'll see that this is a special place, with lots of special and local foods.

You can also place orders on their website and pick up at one of the places they regularly attend (including Statehouse Market, Irvington Farmer's Market, Fishers Farmer's Market, and Avon Farmer's Market. Product offerings include cakes/cupcakes (also Keto and Paleo options among others, though flavor options are more limited). breads, rolls, pretzel products, cinnamon rolls, Danish, and other items. Lydia can also make yeast-free breads, sweet breads, pies, cookies, cake donuts, brownies, scones, etc. The list is available on their website with pricing. I've tried the brownies (Yum!), cinnamon rolls (even more yum!), and cookies (Yum Yum). Yes, the pricing is a little higher than mass-produced products. These are specialty products from a local, woman owned business. Easily worth supporting in my book. When you add in just how sick you can get when you don't follow the needed diet, I find it balances out. I mean, seriously. How often have we violated the gluten-free diet and paid for it with digestive issues requiring OTC or even prescription meds? So, we end up spending more and feeling lousy. Lydia makes quality products that are healthier and does so at a fair price. She's always friendly and helpful and always willing to brainstorm ideas. I can always tell by the steady line at their stand that they've earned a reputation for quality baking. If you need a gluten-free baking option, Gluten Free Creations is definitely worth a visit at a local farmer's market or through their website.

Vegan, paleo, gluten free, many items allergen free. Scones, cake doughnuts, cupcakes, cookies, cakes, sandwich and other breads. I try to write somewhat useful reviews so I definitely want to give this place a shout out and bring it to anyone's attention who may have concerns about certain allergens. Surely you know someone because I don't think a person counts as an actual human being these days if they don't have at least some food sensitivity (I can't believe I'm one of them!). Things to keep in mind, this isn't Ezra's, so their aim isn't necessarily "healthy." Sugar is typically a no go for me, and if that's you too, this place is probably a no go. But if you're entertaining where there are many actual human beings ( I would definitely have a human authenticity device on hand for those who claim to have none. Aliens are real, people!) or you're someone who has food sensitivities, you've got to check this place out! I haven't found any baker in Indy who only does gluten free, so again, worth the review and checking them out for this reason alone. They have no brick and mortar establishment but all local farmer's markets, and they have their schedule listed on their website. If you want to place an order other than what they offer that particular day, contact them but you will have to pick up at a farmer's market. Do I recommend them? Well, truthfully, I've only tried a delicious mini scone so far, but I am excited about their brand/their concept so if you get excited about this too, and you're not afraid of a good ol' fashion American baked good, yes, id recommend them! However, if you are looking for guilt free unbaked goods, I'd probably say go to Ezra's, as I usually do. I can't wait to read about your experience!
