    Mussels

I've always had good experiences at Taxman, so this may have just been an off day. I ordered the mussels, and while the mussels themselves were fresh and cooked well, the broth was just okay and didn't have the depth of flavor I was hoping for. That said, I'd still recommend Taxman because everything else I've had here has been consistently great. The service was friendly, the patio is a great spot to sit outside, and the location is perfect if you're heading to or from Gainbridge Fieldhouse. I will definitely come back and will probably just order something else next time!

We braved the cold for Devour Indy to try out this spot which has been on our list for some time. There is metered parking along the street as well as some parking garages but keep in mind you might have to walk a bit. The space is nicely lit and has a fun patio which would be great in the warmer months. It is mostly windows and has a fun bar area so plenty of seating which highlight the city views. We made reservations but there seemed to be plenty of tables (probably as super cold). We tried various options and everyone exclaimed over the salmon, the frites and the grilled cheese. My gnocchi was amazing too! The showstopper though for me was the flourless chocolate cake! I will go back soon for that option! A fun place with lots of tasty options and easily accessible once inside. Definitely a place for a quick bite or a fancy meal as a fun atmosphere. The staff was kind and offered me tonic water either lime since couldn't have any alcohol this round...loved the fizz! A fun evening with yummy food!

    The patio is superb.

It's downtown Indianapolis and it's a great afternoon evening spot too. Lots of people and downtown goings on to see. The service started off slow, but it all turned around nicely. The burgers here are great. I got the special burger. Teresa got the steak salad. No complaints at all. We stuck around for another cocktail and because the live music was too good to leave. Emma Richard's was super great. We loved our stop here. Looking forward to coming back too.

I visited Taxman for a team dinner on a weekday and overall the experience was 4* I say that cause my grilled cheese sandwich (pretty much the only vegetarian option) was too sweet. Granted it came with fig jam but the abundance of sweetness didn't sit well. The Brussels sprouts were a crowd favorite and we ended up ordering twice. Service was a tad bit slow despite Taxman being visibly empty. Overall ambience and vibe weren't the best, something was off for a downtown location. Will have to give it another try to enjoy the place.

First stop on our date night. Beautiful restaurant and bar and the service was very speedy. We shared the cheese curds and they were so tasty! I especially loved my drink - the lock and key. Would come back again for a full dinner.

Good food. Good ambience. Okay service- frisco melt had good flavor but was cold, fries were great, cheese curds were what dreams are made of. I'd definitely go back, I want to try the Brussels sprouts!

Short review: over priced, unique menu, very little seasoning. It's a really cool location, atmosphere and menu. But the food just doesn't hit the price, and the service is slow for the location. I'd love it here if they nailed the menu, but pretty much everything fell clearly short of good.

We booked a private room at Taxman for a conference, and it was great from start to finish. The staff greeted us upon arrival and led us to our room, which was set up for us in advance. We started off with cocktails, and everyone in the party enjoyed theirs. They were well-blended and not overly sweet. The two people in our party who ordered mocktails also noted that they were well-made. Everyone in our party ordered something different, and we were all happy with our choices. The burgers were cooked perfectly, the truffle fries were crispy and full of savory flavors, and the Mac and cheese had a great cheese blend and very tender beef. Our server Jake was great. Our waters were never empty, and he checked in with us frequently. I am not from Indy, but I absolutely recommend Taxman to those who do live here and those visiting. You will not be disappointed!

Beware of making a reservation here on the OpenTable app. We had a reservation for Wednesday (today is Sunday) for four of us. We were hoping to grab a bite to eat at a place that wasn't too far away from Gainbridge before the concert we were going to. We got a message today stating our reservation was being cancelled due to being booked by a group, and could only offer us seating on the patio. Mind you we have been under consistent thunderstorm warnings the past week, and Wednesday we have rain and cold weather in the forecast. Now we are left scrambling trying to find somewhere to eat beforehand. In my opinion, the restaurant handled this poorly. They should only allow bookings within a certain timeframe, so that people with reservations don't get the short end of the stick. They also could have offered us some sort of incentive for the inconvenience to visit on another day.

The most fun space! We wondered in for post dinner drinks and stumbled on the brewers guild after party which was so much fun!! The beers were good and the staff were incredibly friendly. They've got a great fenced in patio space with stage, cornhole, and connect 4. Lots of seating and standing options! 100% a spot we would frequent if we lived there!

Brussels sprouts - toppings were flavorful, but they were cold and fried until they turned into dust

I'll start off by saying I had heard nothing but rave reviews of this Taxman location, so I've been dying to try it. We grabbed a seat at the bar and were greeted right away by the bartenders, who gave us some recommendations. The Brussels sprouts appetizer had good flavor, but they were fried into oblivion and cold. It was like they had re-heated them multiple times. I got the chicken sandwich, grilled, which was the best thing we had. Tons of flavor and the fries were cooked and seasoned perfectly. The short rib, which all the staff raved about, was cold and tough. Once again, it seemed like it had been re heated and sitting out for a while. This was strange because we got there at 5:30pm. Considering we paid $120 dollars for that, I wouldn't go back unless it was for the chicken sandwich.

What a wonderful experience. Came in on a late Saturday night and it was quiet, musician playing live music. Bar staff was super friendly. Food was delicious. I had a side salad and the chicken and waffles. Highly recommend. If I visit indy again this will be somewhere I will most definitely visit.

I had the opportunity to organize a corporate event yesterday for 50 people and I just can say THANK YOU! Ashley who helped me with the organization in the last minute, was able to accommodate everything for me in the last minute without hesitation. Madison and Sophia were incredibly kind and sweet helping with all the details during the lunch. PS: thanks for the awesome Arnold Palmer and Margarita! The Chef and kitchen staff out of this league. Food was awesome, perfect quantity, flavorful. The place was cozy, clean and ready waiting for us despite arrive earlier than expected. Again, great job and thank you so much for taking care of us.

We got there early and were able to have some drinks and food, including the nachos. Man, I was not expecting BBQ sauce and like a mustardy sauce and cheese and it was flavor exploding, loved it. With the event we had catered pork/chicken as well as sides. Everything was great, the peppercorn dressing for the salad was so amazing, I would definitely think of a salad here in the future. The venue inside the space, with the car, is quaint with seating and you get to see everything happening outside the space as well. This last time, we were in the original Guggman Haus brewing building that houses the coffee. This is adorable! We had service the entire time, including a bartender and the beer. They made everything super easy and I would consider this space for a baby shower, bridal shower, etc. We had 25 people and it fit wonderfully. There is also outside space for overflow, so it makes it very reasonable. Now onto the beer! I had the IPA Riverside, very hazy with a great flavor. Then I went off the rocker and ordered some prickly pear drink, I was not expecting how good that was! Refreshing and light, easy to drink (probably too easy) and the flavor was perfect! Try it if you are there, it is a newer option. PROS: Parking easy, street and lot Many open spaces and areas to rent Games are included, so eat, drink and enjoy company They have trivia nights, woohoo CONS: Sometimes the food is not always a hit, nothing to state specifically today, but I recall in the past saying to myself, don't order that again. The brewery is housed inside a beautifully restored church, and walking in for the first time is worth the visit alone. The soaring ceilings, stained glass, and original architecture make for one of the coolest brewery spaces I've been to around Indianapolis. She walked us through the beer flights, made some great recommendations, and never made us feel rushed. The flights were also surprisingly affordable, which made trying a few different brews an easy decision. For lunch, I ordered the pulled pork sandwich with fries, while my friend went with the Italian sandwich. Both plates were generously portioned, and neither of us left hungry. The pulled pork was tender, flavorful, and piled high on the sandwich, while the fries were perfectly crispy alongside it. Between the quality of the food and the reasonable prices, it felt like an excellent value. The atmosphere strikes a nice balance between historic and casual.
