Which I guess is okay during the Holiday weekend but it took us 45 minutes to get a table. Soft drinks were included. But the food was mediocre. The only things I really liked was the dessert options, prime rib, and some of the Chinese food. I'd rather just go to the food court next time or another restaurant in the Casino. We stopped by last night before the comedy show, figured we'd grab a quick meal. Upon arrival there wasn't a wait which I was surprised about as it was a Friday night. The five of us went and it came to $220.00 including tip. I don't really do the buffet of AC thing and I was told that's a bit on the pricey side. The place is clean and the waitress was very nice. The food was good, not great. They have a wide selection from Asian to Italian. I did enjoy the prime rib, carved right there to order. The sushi and the fried shrimp were also very good. if you're looking for "Las Vegas" buffet style, yes, this one hits close to home. Nothing compared to the size of my favorite (Bacchannal in Caesar's LV) but quality wise it is comparable. For something I get comped on every so often this isn't really a bad deal. not much of a selection but The food is quality. The carving station is excellent -- they have lamb steak and prime rib, the Asian food is okay, don't expect for a large sushi station- you're lucky if you see one or two rolls. They have swordfish, salmon, clams and mussels which are okay but don't really care for in a buffet. They have adequate choices for soup, cold and hot appetizers, and salad. If you're a regular customer like me (Red Label), it's $31.95 for Saturday night dinner and $10 (Black Label) for those high rollers. The buffet selection is great. Was a nice Breakfast buffet. But in AC I seen and tasted better. I was not impressed with it. The Omelet person was darn near making 1 omelet at a time. And a line was formed. So I opted for the pancakes. And the Portabella Mushroom with egg. Now that was very good. The Apple Creep. Awesome I had a few of them. The pastries were not as tasty as I hoped they would be. So we went Labor day weekend and after reading all the reviews and looking at the small and dried up dishes at Trump's Sultan Buffet, we decided to use our free casino parking transfer and drive up from the boardwalk's Revel to Borgata and boy were we not disappointed. I think we waited on line for 35-45 minutes and got there 7 PM, and the wait plus peeking over to what others were eating made us even more excited! Note: my husband and I only eat halal food so that meant only seafood and vegetarian for us. I thought the banana leaf wrapped salmon was bland so I gave it to my husband with some horseradish sauce and he liked it. I wasn't feeling it. The sushi was mediocre so the reviewers are right about that- take once piece and see for yourself. I tried the shrimp tempura. I actually like runny mac & cheese and so I loved theirs! I even got seconds as it was runny but very cheesy. Their mushroom ravioli and oven baked mushrooms and all the fried rices were very good and the fried shrimp was nice as well. I couldn't try the meats or chicken so no comment on that. The service is good and the quality is definitely there so you don't feel as guilty paying $32 per person. I thought their vegetable soup was too salty, BUT their mashed potatoes were the best! you must try them..they must have had some cream cheese and/ or sour cream in them..soo good! Try the mashed potatoes! They also have a very good salad selection. I liked their ceaser dressing; it was high quality stuff and good Parmesan cheese goes a long way. I was tempted to get more salad but I knew I had to save room and try 8 more items ;p I didn't like their pear salad as the goat cheese turned me off. I personally though the dessert was great. Their cheesecake and hot brownies were excellent, and the chocolate mousse was good. I didn't like their gelato green apple flavor or their chocolate- it felt watered down. The Borgata Hotel seemed like an upscale establishment compared to its AC Boardwalk counterparts. I was amazed that parking in this hotel's garage was only $5 compared to the $10-$20 fee charged by parking lots near the boardwalk. Since the closing of Showboat which once had a scrumptious buffet, so I then had to try dining at Borgata Buffet for $34. I was surprised at some of the limited options & variety of food at the bar. Also when sampling my food selections, it was obvious that the taste was bland and the quality seemed subpar. Service was actually the best part of my dining experience maybe because the servers could possible sway you to return. They even had tofu products in the Chinese section, lots of vegetables, potatoes, etc. The dessert section makes me wish I was obese so that I could stay there all day and eat 5 of everything. I saved room for dessert and skipped the gelato as the line was too long. The cookies were not spectacular, the canoli was deliciously fresh and the mousse came in strawberry and mint -- innovative, but average tasting. So I'm not a huge fan of Buffet's to begin with, even the best ones that Vegas has to offer (Bellagio etc.) only solicit a slight meh in my book. The Borgata Buffet is not bad considering it is the Jersey Shore... We showed up around noon and there wasn't much of a line but the cashiers apparently didn't know that lunch started at 11:30. Two cashiers finally showed up at about 12:15 and then the line moved quickly. We were seated right away and the waitress brought us our drinks as ordered. The food, there was nothing bad about it, but nothing to rave about either. There were no cocktail shrimp during the lunch buffet which I found a bit of a bummer. None of the hot food really stood out. The pizza looked like your typical school lunch room pizza. The beef brisket at the carving station was ok, some of the pasta dishes looked like they had been sitting there since last night. My daughter loved the Mac & Cheese, she's probably the only one that got her money worth since kids under 3 eat for free. I'll concur with other reviews and say that the dessert bar was probably the best part. The gelato was fresh and the Macaroon's where the sh*t! Probably my favorite thing in the whole buffet. So if you can stomach (no pun intended) spending $18 just to get some good ass macaroons then this place is for you! read more

I hardly consider buffets as places to appreciate good food so to stave off disappointment, my expectations do a nose-dive when I go. My family went to the Borgata Buffet on a recent Saturday night around 7 PM. No line, although the restaurant was by no means empty. Within the half hour though, the line began to grow and when we left around 8:30 PM, the place was packed. The semi-separated dining areas surround the central food area. Decor is an extension of the main casino/hotel, the Italian-style faux elegance, and is fairly nice to dine in. Tables are very solid. Service for drinks and clearing the tables was prompt. Noise level was very high but what I'd expect for a buffet right next to the casino area. When we went, just about all the food stations were opened, and everything was refilled at a steady clip. Its a broad selection of options, some better than others. Small salad bar, small selection of non-fish sushi, Chinese food section, Italian pastas section, a few meat carving stations, American food section, Latin food section, seafood section, and dessert section. Not everything was prepared well, and the salad and sushi sections were pathetic compared to what I've seen elsewhere (although I wouldn't eat sushi in a buffet no matter the venue). But there was plenty of food that was pretty decent. Some highlights were stir fried striped bass, shrimp cocktail, pork shoulder, freshly fried Chinese eggplant, artichoke and fennel salad, and bread pudding. Borgata Buffet exceeded my low expectations, but more so because with the volume of food available, I found enough well-prepared individual items that together, made a very satisfying meal for me. This review is for breakfast only. At about $15, I think this is a reasonable value, especially since you won't feel like eating lunch that day. On the other hand, the food is very uneven. Presentation is perfectly nice, coffee great, and OJ huge. Our server was fine, and everything seemed clean and fresh. The sweet dishes are the most successful: tiny cheese blintzes, apple crepes, waffles. I would avoid the accompanying fruit compotes, all of which were gloppy and commercial-tasting. The savory stuff did not fare as well, with thin oatmeal, a nearly tasteless frittata, hardened "eggs in purgatory." The chicken sausage was tasty, though. Although I didn't try it, the omelet station was bustling. Pastries are nothing special but seemed fresh. I decided to try this place since I had some slot dollars I could put towards dinner. The line to get in was long. We waited 30 minutes for a table. I am not sure why we had to wait so long though. There were clearly empty tables throughout the place. Maybe they were saving them for the high-rollers, who knows? The best part of the buffet was the seafood. I have some shrimp cocktail as well as the mussels/clams in white wine sauce. I found the salmon cooked in banana leaf to be a bit dry, but still good. I also liked their Spanish rice and potatoes au gratin as sides. The desert section has an assortment of pastries, cookies and fresh fruit. I had some mini pecan pies and peanut butter cookies. Very tasty. (The Chinese and Italian areas didn't appeal to me so I pass on those. The Japanese section was lame with just a few rolls.) Service was excellent. My girlfriend and I ate hear for brunch this past Sunday 2/26/12. They have everything you should expect at a casino buffet. Everything seemed fresh for the most part and the shrimp cocktail wasn't fishy. I enjoyed the sirloin steak matched up with spicy chorizo and peppers. The omelete station looked really good and seemed to flow pretty fast. They also had great fried chicken and really thin fresh dough pizza. The cost was 26.75 per person and seemed fair as long as you were hungry. The staff seemed on point and the server greeted us asap with our drink selections. I am not a huge fan of buffets and there are better places to eat inside the Borgata. This would be a great place for large groups or very picker eaters. Although this place won't make me come back every single day, it will definitely make me come back every time I stay in the Borgata. We came here because we were comped, and my boyfriend heard it was really good. I have to say, it was really good! They have a big chinese food section, which I am ALL FOR! The only thing lacking was the traditional chicken & broccoli, that most buffets have. The only chinese chicken dish they did have was General Taos. I rubbed my baby bump at the Wheel of Fortune slots and won $250 so I treated myself and my husband to dinner last Friday. I skipped the salads, but tried a bit of almost everything else. Everything (except for the roast pork) was excellent. The cocktail shrimp were HUGE. They didn't seem to have too much in the way of sushi, but I can't have any now so it didn't bother me. Everything was freshly cooked (and we came at the end of the dinner rush). The wait staff was excellent as well. The best part of the buffet was definitely dessert. Their mini chocolate cupcakes are to die for - I wish I had snuck some out with me! The chocolate chip cookies were wonderful too, as well as the eclairs.
