I'm reviewing two experiences, one ordered on Grubhub and the other a dine in experience with family. The sandwiches and pasta dishes at Borgata are nice and big: great for sharing. Even the side house salad is big enough to share. Definitely plan to go family style so you can try lots of different dishes. The 16 inch pizza comes with 8 large slices. One slice is pretty filling. All the food is fresh and flavorful. You can't go wrong. It's called Borgata Pizza Cafe, but I would add it's so much more than pizza. read more

My first time and tried the pizza. It is a New York style with the center of the pie almost needing to cook longer. It was OK but not a stand out for me with all the other pizza out there. Another in our party had chicken parma sean and said it was barely warm when service. The place was clean and nice, a lot of energy there and in the area. Our service was also good as the staff was friendly and attentive. If in the area, I would consider trying. read more

The pizza is overrated. I ordered two cheese slices and the first managed to have hot cheese and sauce but the dough was woefully undercooked. The underside of the slice was white and when folded the slice had the texture of Wonder Bread. The sauce was way too sweet. I requested the second slice be cooked in the oven and the let it stay in there a bit too long to the point that it got charred. It did improve the pizza as it turns out they don't cook their sauce enough. If you plan on getting pizza here ask them to put your slices in the oven to brown the underside of the pizza without charring and drying out the cheese. Lastly, having grown up in NYC and eating pizza in all of the 5 boroughs, I cannot fathom why Borgata imagines their product to be New York Style. Also, maybe lose the authentic Italian sign on the front door. If you seriously crave New York pizza hit up Brooklyn Pizza in Powell. Seriously, pizzerias in Central Ohio aiming to make New York "style" pizza should visit Brooklyn Pizza as a refresher. read more

I'm definitely a sucker for homemade pasta and meatballs and this place hit the mark for me on multiple accounts. I ordered the spaghetti and meatballs which has several options of sauce to pair it with. I chose the creamy tomato and opted to get it on the side because I wanted to be on the safe side after a recent bad experience with over sauce dispersion. It came with two cups of delicious sauce that were so good I swear I could almost drink it as soup. And two large pieces of garlic cheese bread that were also on point. And the actual spaghetti and meatballs were delicious, with a large enough portion to save some for lunch tomorrow. And if you are looking for some good NY style pizza in Columbus, I highly recommended Borgata for that as well. My husband said it's the best he has ever had and he does not make those comments lightly. The Tuscan Pesto Bread was great too. The last two times we ordered from this Borgata, the pizza was undercooked. However, this last time was so bad that I could pull off pieces of dough and form them into a mushy ball. Even the cheese on the pizza had a weird texture. This used to be one of my favorite pizza places, but now I'm turned off after this. read more

I recently had a bad experience ordering delivery with GrubHub; actually it was a pretty terrible experience, and decided to give them another chance at redemption . I have had Borgata in the past and it was great, so I figured it was GrubHub and not them. The beer selection was great, although online menu vs paper menu was in conflict. No biggie. The pizza was phenomenal. Not only was it a delicious pizza, but it was cooked perfectly. Borgata knows how to make a perfect pizza, and they have to be top 3 in Columbus! I am happy to say that my previous bad experience was more about GrubHub and this visit proved it. Unfortunately, my previous experiences with GrubHub were also bad and I will never use them again. Borgata is highly recommended, but i would definitely not ruin the experience with GrubHub delivery. read more

Upon the recommendation of literally every person who's eaten here, I called and ordered a New York cheese pizza a couple weeks ago. When I picked it up, almost 30 minutes later, I ended up waiting an additional 30 minutes. Needless to say, I felt a little put out when I finally received the pizza. Guess what? It doesn't matter how long I waited because the pizza was AMAZING. I mean, absolutely, positively amazing. The service was great & for that I give it 3 stars. The drinks came at a reasonable amount of time. We sat outside on their beautiful patio. There were 7 people in our party one was a vegetarian and he liked the Margherita pizza. Everyone seemed to enjoy their pizza. I've never had a Margherita pizza that way. I thought it was a 2. It seemed flavorless and the basil was all shriveled up and mushy, the tomato was slimy and had no flavor. I was really unimpressed. The ham and pineapple/Hawaiian was flavorless their was very little ham and it just didn't taste good to me. The pineapple tasted like it came right out of a can and had a metallic flavor. I like fresh flavorful ingredients and Borgata really missed the mark. I will give them the benefit of the doubt. I won't be trying the pizza again. I expect good flavor and I just didn't experience that. I will try some of their other meal options. read more

From the time I walked into the door, I was made to feel welcome and asked for my drink order. I had gotten there early for the Columbus Pizza Connoisseur Club Meetup. While I waited, the manager came over to talk to me. I ordered my normal, 12 inch pizza with pineapple and ham. I also ordered it with extra sauce. Only took 10 minutes to come out, but the place wasn't busy. As the others came, drink orders were taken and everyone had time to look over the menu. All the pizzas came quickly. One strange thing was the "plates" to use was the 12 inch pizza pan. Luckily, only half the group showed up because between all the pizzas and the "extra large plates" room on the table would have run out quickly. I did take my normal star off for Pepsi products. The pizza heated up well and the take out box let it come home in one layer. I don't know why some pizza places give you a small styrofoam containers. Good pizza cheese does stick to the bottom of the piece on top. Maybe we should take that as a sign that cheap cheese is being used. Plenty of parking, at least during the week. A few more places to eat are located in the strip mall, so parking could be a problem on Friday and Saturday nights. read more

Place wasn't that busy but took a 1/2 hour to get a drink ordered....newer waitress so gave a break. Ordered cheesy garlic bread app which was pretty good and plentiful for the 4 of us....Main dishes weren't quite as impressive....I got the chicken Parm which was like 2 frozen chicken patties with a slice of cheese on top....wife got gnocchi that had somewhat cheap marinara on top and was very average.....on flip side our friends did get the pizza which was good....bottom line, if we ever go back order the pizza, but prob not gonna get there! read more

During covid we have tried to be very careful and what we do and how we are exposed because I have a serious health condition. After seeing so many raving reviews online; I decided to drive the 30 min to give this place a shot and it was a total let down. 1. Order was wrong - ordered a 1/2 cheese (for our vegetarian and 1/2 pep for the carnivore. Got all pepperoni so when I got home had to cook ontop if the carry-out. Additionally ordered the cavatelli (as few restaurants have this on the menu in central Ohio and was feeling nostalgic for my hometown). I asked the person taking my order if the red sauce had any chunks of tomato as I am did not want the order if it did. I was reassured by Derek that it was a smooth sauce with no chunks of tomatoes. When I opened the lid the pasta was covered in chunks within the sauce and missing the meatballs. So either he wasn't familiar with the product or I was deceived to increase my order amount either way it left me with another meal to make. So after spending more than $40.00 plus a tip on carry out I was left with 1 of the 3 people I was feeding food. 2. I called when I got there as pick-up instructions were not provided to see if they delivered food to the car or if it was carry out. I was told I had to come in and pick it up and my order was there ready. I walk in to get the food only to then have the order not sitting there ready and having to wait 15 more minutes. It was extremely important that I didn't have to sit there and wait while others people were picking up orders and they just didn't seem to care about the precautions I need to take. I'd highly recommend a lesson from kitchen Social in flawless carry out service. 3. Gloves - while everyone was wearing gloves no one was removing or replacing gloves. This then makes the gloves useless and of little value. Again people are putting their trust in the management and oversight during a pandemic and trying to support local; but the business has to be accountable for their practices and safety and care about their customer more than ever. Watching you touch a phone, counter The highlight - the carnivore in the house thought the pizza was really tasty. I'm disappointed not being able to try a slice getting the wrong order. the 2 pieces of garlic bread was awesome for the cavatelli dinner - wish I could have enjoyed the pasta. 12.00 is a lot to spend on a pasta dinner that also was missing the meatballs the carnivore was planning to eat. We ordered cannoli and chocolate raspberry cake they were good but not great. Cannoli was truly the highlight of the order. Both the chocolate chip and buckeye were a delight. the cake was pretty disappointing, very grainy and a funny texture for cake. The raspberry was way too faint of a taste. I'd been to the other location and this one was on my radar, but I'm not over this way often. Surprise visit today, when we were waiting on something nearby, and the Irish pub turned out to be too chaotic, even at 3pm on a Tuesday, for a grandma, me, and toddler. Borgata was more laidback, and had more food options (and more things for Baby K to eat.) We got her a kid's spaghetti, which my mom shared. It was a big portion, good pasta and sauce, with good garlic cheese bread. I got a piece of pizza. Huge, floppy, NY style, with a good crust, good sauce, good cheese, and good toppings (I chose sausage, and they were not shy about loading it up.) Service was great, even though it was our server's first day. Only drawback was it seemed slow, for a pretty simple order when they were almost empty. I mean, the pizza was surely, made, and some pasta, so it was just a matter of putting it all on plates, I assume. Still, not crazy long, and it was good, and were on our way before long. It's a pretty basic menu: pasta, pizza, wings, subs. But they do all those things really, really well. They had me at house-made pasta. Gwen W. invited my husband and I to join she and two other yelpers, Tom H. and Kym H., for dinner a few nights ago. I'm so glad we did, as this cafe was not on my radar. We got there by 6 and it wasn't busy. It actually didn't get much busier, but then it was 2 nights before Christmas. After arrival, I ordered from the cocktail menu: Makers Mark Manhattan, but they were out of Makers, so I okayed Bulleit as a substitute. They serve the usual Italian restaurant pizza, pasta, and salads, but I don't think the quality is typical. I started with a small house salad with house-made raspberry vinaigrette. Kym H. said the gnocchi was amazing, so that's what I had. I added chicken, and there were 4 sauces to choose from. I asked for both pesto and the tomato cream sauce. Excellent. It came with 2 pieces of garlic bread. I loved it. I then ordered a piece of the Lemon Ricotta Pie to go (another fine Kym recommendation). Great company, and very satisfying meals. read more

Look, it's certainly pizza. But don't get the NY style because people on r/Columbus say it's good NY style. It's not. I'm not being some NYer pizza snob here, I'm not from there and don't hold it as holy, but I have lived there and this pizza...well, it's not even close really. Everything is off. Not sure why they call it NY style. Dough: it's not particularly thin, definitely a lot of dough there. I'm the type that can put away 4 slices usually and two kept me uncomfortably full from around 7pm til I fell asleep at 1am. And I couldn't even finish the crust I was so full. Zero chew to it at all. Weirdly light for how much dough seems packed in it. It would be a nice enough, interesting kind of dough as it's own thing that I'm sure people would enjoy if not expecting what was advertised. Also fairly undercooked. Seems like their ovens may not get hot enough for a proper NY style or any other style honestly. Sauce: not sure what to say, didn't taste much of it as it was swallowed up by aforementioned dough. Cheese: completely wrong taste for a NY style. Didn't really taste of anything at all. Not sure if they pregrate it days in advance, get it pregrated or if it's just bad cheese. There's just no taste of anything. I see a lot of people like it, maybe they have decent toppings that cover up the soft bland base or something, I don't know. I do know it's not about lack of access to the right things because east coast pizzeria does just fine. They were closed Monday so took reddit at it's word and feel like I wasted 25 bucks lol. Usually I'd be excited for leftover pizza for my lunch, but not this time. Pretty disappointed. Originally was going to give three stars because it IS pizza but it's just so damn flavorless and mushy I really can't bring myself to. Delicious and HUGE pizza! We had ordered takeout through Amazon about a year ago and thought nothing special about the pizza. It might have been due to the fact that our order took over an hour and the pizza was cold by the time we got it? We decided to give it another try because this place continues to get great reviews and their wait times are long (2 hours), even during a pandemic. And boy we were sure glad we did! I loved the pizza sauce and the proportions were just right for everything: sauce, cheese, and pepperoni. I even ate the crust and I don't even like pizza crust (typically)!! It's so big so you can definitely make two meals out of one 20 inch pizza for two people. My husband was raving about it because pizza is his favorite food. So we will definitely be back! Also, they had good sanitation procedures in place during the COVID-19 pandemic. We had food delivered, and the chicken on our salad came completely frozen. When I called the restaurant, they did not care that their food was a poor quality and told me I had to reach out to GrubHub to get refunded. The refund is second to the fact that we had no food which seems like that should be a priority for a restaurant, especially a local one. We will never go here again, and we encourage others to avoid it as their customer service and customer care is absent. read more

When going here they had tremendous sweet tea and their Pizza is incredible I had a supreme pizza and it knocks Pizza Hut supreme pizza out of the water doesn't even close I got to experience a great time with Krista her service is legendary and I'll definitely be back she paid attention to me while she was doing the register and her closing responsibilities but she still took enough time to say hi to me and her partner Christian made sure I got silverware and made sure she gave me conversation in the midst of a busy atmosphere. Also the decor is built well, and the owner used to be an executive chief at the brown Derby!! Love the $8 lunch special for 2 slices and a soft drink. The thing NY style pizza is swrved pipping hot. Once it cools, I love to fold it in half and dip it in a side of marinera sauce. My son ordered a child's portion spaghetti with mariners and a meatball served with a generous piece of garlic bread with cheese. The interior walls are lined with lots of TVs great for watching the game. We enjoyed the patio on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. Staff was attentive and the food was great!
