Greek salad
Brinda S.

We went into this joint expecting something more like Mod or Blaze, but it's not that. (Not a complaint! We love some counter service! But it's very take out coded.) We ordered a 12 inch pepperoni and a 14 inch heritage honey. I didn't clock that the heritage honey had sausage on it, or I would have left it off. It was fine enough, just didn't add to an already pretty good pizza. The super picky pizza lovin kid enjoyed her pepperoni for sure and we were happy with ours. It's a not thin, not too thick pizza that's cut tavern/square style. I'm a traditional wedge pizza girlie so next time I'm going to ask for that. But still very good pizza with an immaculate number of epic cheese pulls. Very generous and yummy toppings. The service was pretty exceptional for quick service. Someone came around and asked if we wanted our salads first, and we did, so they brought those to us. I really loved the Greek salad--my fave Greek salad at a not-Greek spot--and husband was ok with his Caesar, tho he could live without the bacon. He just prefers a traditional Caesar. Our salad delivery also came with a napkin dispenser and thank goodness because the heritage honey pizza is messy is the best kind of way. The salads came in to go containers with lids, in a convenient style that would make walking around with a salad or taking a salad to a pedicure easy breezy. Our pizzas came to the table in the box (excellent!) and we were provided paper plates, cheese and peppers on request. The music was pop with lots and lots of Taylor Swift and by the time we left it was packed with people looking for takeout. I'm excited to try some other things.

Great pizza and super friendly staff. Cauliflower crust was fantastic if you're looking for gluten free pizza.

Unfortunately, the Gina's Gem was nothing like what was advertised. I was expecting warm, crusty bread with a roasted cheese dip on the side so you could tear pieces of bread and dip them into the cheese. Instead, the cheese had already been spread directly onto the bread and toasted together. Because of that, the bread lost the texture you would expect--it wasn't crusty or dippable at all. It ended up soft, almost soggy, and the cheese was baked onto the bread rather than being a dip. The whole appeal of the dish was supposed to be the warm bread with the roasted cheese to dip into, and that part was completely missing. Included with the bread was a hot honey that missed the mark on being "hot" and some kind of jam. These options just made everything even more soft....which should have been impossible. The salad was actually the best part of the meal - even though it was a bit spicy. I've always had good experiences here in the past, so this was a big letdown--especially for the price. I just wish the to-go version of the dish matched how it's described, or that expectations were set correctly when ordering. Unfortunately, this experience made me lose all trust in ordering from here again. I can't believe we waited until exactly 3pm (when they opened) to order this.... At the very least the pizza should have been hot.

The sandwich was honestly the highlight of the meal. It was delicious, and the pizza dough as the bread was such a unique touch that you really don't find at many Italian sandwich spots around Columbus. The pizza itself was just okay. As you can see from the picture, the toppings weren't distributed very evenly, so some slices had mostly sauce with barely any cheese while others had way more toppings and cheese but less sauce. I also wish the pizza had been cooked a little longer overall because it was pretty floppy and doughy. One thing that makes it tough is that once the movie starts, it's hard to go back and ask for changes or anything since the theater is packed and getting in and out of the seats feels disruptive. We'll definitely be back to Grandview Theater because we love the experience overall, but next time I'll probably stick to the sandwiches and popcorn and skip the pizza.

The kind of spot where you expect a solid beer and maybe some decent bar food. What you don't expect? One of the best Detroit-style pizzas of your life hiding behind a window in the back like some carb-based speakeasy. And when I say hidden, I mean hidden. No flashy signage. No "best pizza in town" ego. Just a quiet little window cranking out square pies that deserve a standing ovation. I ordered the classic red top -- already a bold move -- and added pesto because balance matters and I like to live a little. The result? Beyond reproach. Fresh, loaded toppings. Sauce with depth. And that crust... that beautiful Detroit crust. Crispy edges with that caramelized cheese halo, but still chewy and pillowy inside. The textural contrast is what separates amateurs from legends -- and this? This was legend-level execution. Easily top 3 Detroit-style pizzas I've had. And that's not a casual statement. If you don't understand the life-altering power of true Detroit-style pizza, I regret to inform you... you have not been living. Go find the window in the back. Trust me.

When I arrived around 10pm on a Sunday night, the place looked like it was in transition to closing (chairs flipped over on tables, no patrons, staff members watching TV in empty booths). However, I was welcomed in to order by the friendly woman at the counter. She answered a few of my questions and when I asked what her favorite was, she immediately said, "Buckeye Garlic Pizza." I took her advice and was also able to add up to three toppings at no additional charge (mushroom, olive and sausage). I took a seat and waited about 10 minutes for my personal 10" pie, which came out hot and with a friendly, "Thank You, Sweetie." I ran the pie back to my hotel and opened up the box. The pie looked amazing. Perfectly crispy outer crust, six cheeses and garlic, along with my toppings. The pie was pretty damn good, with steam coming off the top. The six-cheese blend was interesting, with the dominant flavors being American and Cheddar. The sausage, olives and mushrooms were all fresh and plentiful. Definitely a good option to satisfy my hunger for a late night pizza in Downtown Columbus.
