After having a terrible experience at another pizza place last night, not receiving an appetizer after being in the restaurant which was empty by the way for an entire hour, I left and went to Borgata which I've been wanting to try and I'm soooo glad that I did. I went in an hour before closing so I was a little nervous about that and I was greeted when I walked thru the door. The staff were super friendly. I placed my order and my pizza came out super fast, probably 15 minutes if I would have to say. Back to the staff multiple people came to my table and asked if I need anything and how was the food, I am big on customer service so that alone is 5 starts. Now back to the pizza. I'm a frequent traveler of NY. I must say this is probably the best NY style pizza I've had in Columbus OH. Foldable crust, perfect amount of cheese, the amount of sauce was perfect, I can keep going on about this pizza, like it was absolute perfection. I'm glad I have leftovers or I would have to drive back to worthington today when I live all the way in New Albany lol. Thank you Borgata Pizza for having friendly staff, an amazing ambiance, clean restaurant and amazing food. You made a terrible Friday night a much much better one . Borgata has the best New York style pizza in Columbus! We ordered a pepperoni pizza, garlic cheese bread, and a side salad with house made Italian dressing. If you love New York style pizza, you will not be disappointed. The crust was crispy on the outside but perfectly chewy inside. Our single order of garlic cheese bread was enough for 4 people, which isn't a bad thing, but be aware that the portion size is large. The bread had the perfect amount of cheese and garlic. The bread was browned enough to make it crunchy without being too hard. You can't go wrong with the dipping marinara sauce - it's so good and you can absolutely tell that it's homemade. The side salad included cheese, tomatoes, mixed greens, and your choice of dressing served with two slices of crostini. I recommend the house made Italian dressing! I think the pizza is better if you eat it at the restaurant. We had a 20 minute drive home and the bread lost a lot of heat during the drive. We've eaten in at the other location and it was a better experience. They have plenty of seating for small and large parties at the restaurant. There's bar seating in the front as well as bar seating in the back that looks over all the action in the kitchen! A couple of years ago, we had Borgata and it was great. Then we had it about a year ago and it was not good--soggy dough, flavorless toppings. We went last week to dine in (thinking perhaps the delivery trip had led to our pizza's demise) . . . . but that was not the case. The middle of the pizza was limp, sad, and lifeless. This is the closest pizza spot that I could find that serves pizza closely resembling New York style pizza. My family and I are from New Jersey and we are always looking for a large pie that's flat, with crispy crust, and lots of cheese! This place is amazing from the pizzas to the salads to the wings. The pizzas have the flat style we're looking for but, sometimes struggles with the crispy crust. Sometimes it feels soggy, and even if you ask for well done, it's still doesn't get that New York feel. However, in Columbus, nothing has gotten closer! This was my second time in Borgata. Service was fantastic both times. The CBC IPA was super fresh and very cold. Happy hour is a great deal for food and drinks. The NY style cheese pizza is probably a 4.6/10. Lots of flop, little flavor in the sauce and over the top cheesy. We also got a gluten free veggie pizza. The veggies lacked a lot of flavor. Not many people were ordering pizza when we were in there so I don't know if they are known for other foods on the menu. read more

I met a couple of friends for dinner tonight. I always get their pizza - WHICH IS AMAZING! Tonight I ordered their wings, dry and extra crispy with sauce on the side. Unfortunately, they weren't crispy at all. I only ate two-hopefully my air fryer will improve them. I also ordered the sausage sub. I expected a big piece of sausage. It was cut into bite sized pieces (how they put it on the pizza). The bun was soggy. I've had much better sub buns and sausage subs. I will always go back for the pizza! It's my favorite!!! Borgata has New York Style pizza at its best. The whole pie is the biggest I've seen in the Columbus area and the pieces are easy to fold over and enjoy. The sides are all great as well. I have to say that I love this place! When I lived in Westerville, I would go to their store on East 161 at least once a month. Having moved to Powell, I have now visited their store on West 161, and it is just as great. Since the Great Quarantine of 2020 kept my wife and me from celebrating my birthday at a restaurant this year, I opted for a pepperoni and onion pie that we could take over to Lake Antrim and enjoy while sitting under a tree next to the water -- it was an awesome way to celebrate. When I moved to Columbus five years ago from Connecticut, I immediately started looking for a pizzeria that served up traditional New York and New Haven-style pies. They are few and far between in Central Ohio, but Borgata is one of them. When anyone asks me where my favorite pizza places are in Columbus, Borgata (both east and west 161) are at the top of the list. Not only are they delicious, but they are a good price as well. Borgata will continue to be one of my go-to places for pizza here. If you're in the area and are craving a good East Coast pizza, stop in and see them. For those who don't know what that means, you'll get a pizza that is large, cut into PROPER triangular slices (not those tiny square pieces so popular around here for some obscure reason), with a thin crust that is cooked through though not crispy on the bottom. You should be able to fold a slice of pizza, and this is what Borgata gives you -- none of that awful hard, crunchy, cracker crust stuff that cuts your mouth as you try to eat it. Go! Get yourself some Borgata! You'll love it! If you don't, you're a weirdo. read more

Pretty good pizza. The crust is great. Good mozzarella cheese I like a little provolone added as well. The sauce in the pizza was good. My family likes bread so the appetizers were bread and garlic cheese bread. Both were good as their bread is awesome. We preferred the regular over the garlic cheese bread as the marinara that came with it was not as good as everything else. My wife had a drink which was well made and the beer selection was good as well. Took canolli and the ricotta cake home to try. Well, the dessert decision is in both really good. Borgata is a word in Italian to designate a clan of la cosa nostra--the mafia; a gutsy name as most Italian places tend to shy away from such stereotypes for they can be overbearing. But this thing of theirs is about NY style pizza and several mainstays of Italian cafe. Though I would not make them don of the city's Italian cafe syndicate, caporegime is a fitting rank. Though with the grandeur of the marinara sauce served with my garlic bread, consigliere may be the right position--they could tell many places how it is done. A sharp shop this is their second store in town. It's in the new plot that just popped out of no where in Lindworth 161, a modern prefab clashing with the roadside rust of the older builds in the village. Clean and contrasting, a darker environment with plenty of lighting, a red brick theme stands out. In among the frame of earth tone and black trim windows are two bars, an alcohol one and a pizza bar bordering the busy kitchen. Standard Italian-pizza joint table and chair sets are spread under the electric dazzle of blue and red beer signs. Loved my meal. A spiral of cut garlic bread and cheese obriting a cup of house made marinara was for starters and a made to order 12-inch NY style pie with green peppers, pepperoni, and mushroom was my main. Plentiful garlic bread and great cheese almost filled me up. The marinara dip was done right. The pizza, in its eastcoast genre, was nicely done, though the ingredients failed to jump out; their taste was a bit lost in the sauce. But still it was a nice pie. My one gripe was the atmosphere for happy hour I came on Friday afternoon. There was no one serving the alcohol bar when I cane in. I sat at the other bar but with the business of the staff with the phones blowing off-the-hook it felt like taking lunch in the middle of a work station. There was no music and the service was rather thin--I was never offered another beer after my first. It lack that sanctuary feel, that shield and escape from our stresses and hustle that a restaurant should offer. It could just had been the time I came. But they need to improve that. All in all, a great pizza Italian joint wirth it for some good Italian food. She had a veggie sandwich and she loved all the fresh grilled veggies, said the bread was soft and warm and will order it again. Ed, owner, has done a fantastic job opening this second Borgata Cafe location. Nothing has been lost or removed for budget reasons. Love their open kitchen, so if you feel the need to check on your order, no problems. Great lighting, open and airy. I'm a sucker for neon signs, whether they're run of the mill beer ones or not. Staff was great, and our waitress was on her game. Very cool how they now carry small touch pads, so ordering's put into the the system as I relay what I want. They also take your payment and give you your receipt in a matter of seconds. Super snazzy. Yep, the food is all kinds of deliciousness! My concoction of cavatelli pasta, locally sourced sausage, Tuscan blend veggies and a mix of Alfredo and pesto sauces was, well, let's just say I was stuffed and damn happy I ate too much homemade pasta. Wonderful flavors. Incredible, al dente pasta. The sausage is not spicy, perfect mixed with the sauces. Food made with 100% love. You'll have plenty of leftovers, don't fret. Oh, and the two slices of cheese garlic bread? Yeah, good luck passing those up. PS, the Lemon Ricotta Cake is to die for. Got it too go, ate it before getting a pic. Just trust me: Get it. Moist. Good pizza, but they don't follow simple instructions very well. We ordered a pepperoni pizza (for my son) and another pizza with tomatoes and green peppers (for me). I asked them to go easy on the cheese on the tomato and green pepper pizza. When I got it home, not only was the tomato and green pepper pizza swimming in cheese, there were barely any green peppers on it. For $1.75 a topping, you can give me way more than just a few strips of peppers. A good pizza has each ingredient covering every piece. A few of the pieces had none. Was disappointed in that, plus the fact that the cheese was very thick and way too much. And yes, I can hear people now saying "Who complains about too much cheese?" Well, I do. I'm not a huge fan of cheese and like my pizzas with a minimal amount (plus I can't eat too much saturated fat for health reasons) hence the reason I asked them to go easy on it. That request was ignored. However, overall, the pizza was good and the crust was pretty tasty. We also ordered 2 of the chocolate chip cannoli. Probably one of the best things I've eaten in a long time. The cannoli shells were perfectly cooked (not overcooked like I've had from other places) and the filling was delicious. Not sure, though, that I will ever order from them again if I can't have a simple request fulfilled. It's not difficult to go light on the cheese and I just can't risk that again. I had heard about this place and was so excited when I finally got to try it! The food is awesome, all made fresh, nothing pre-made ordered from a vendor. All the pasta and sauces are made at one location, and split between the two, so if you love the food at the first location, rest assured it is the same quality here. I absolutely love gnocchi, but it's sometimes pretty disappointing when ordering someplace new, have been served all sorts of craziness including gnocchi in what I'm pretty sure was just A1 sauce...not here. The gnocchi here was perfect, and served with a wonderful Alfredo sauce, yum! The stuffed pepper though was the star of the show-if you don't like spicy maybe think twice, but if you like some heat, theirs is delicious! Of course the pizza is good, but then you probably already knew that. The cannoli is really good too, assuming one still has room, and a great way to end an Italian meal. We tried the worthington location as previously we always went to the East location closer to New Albany that's now closed. Tonight we got a couple of pizzas and appetizers and the taste was just off. It tasted like the gas from the oven even the appetizers had a slight after taste. Nothing at all like the old location off 161 near New Albany. The service was great but food had that natural gas type taste to it. read more

I took the whole family to this restaurant because I was in the mood for some east coast style pizza. I had never been to this place but i have been to the Borgata that is off of 161. I was hoping that this place was going to be just as good or better than I remember the other Borgata was. I must say that this place indeed did not disappoint us. The service was fantastic. It was fairly busy in there but we were seated right away. Our server was very accommodating and made sure that we were taken very good care of. The owner happened to be there that day as well and he came over to make sure that everything was to our liking. He suggested the meatballs and we listened to his recommendation and ordered that as well as a pepperoni pizza. The meatball was pretty freaking awesome and the pizza was great. Authentic Italian food made fresh. A large group of family were getting together. I suggested we all go to Borgata's new location. There was so many great food choices that we all wanted to taste. Our server suggested we dine family style on multiple dishes. That was a winning suggestion. Add in some great wine pairings, and this place was a complete hit. This is the most recent location(2017), which we anticipated for far too long. There were all kinds of brand new plaza construction delays. No worries. We always had our E Dublin Granville location to feed our desires. 3 BIG changes here are the larger space, patio dining(see pic), and of course a full bar. One crucial piece missing is signage. This is not the businesses fault. It is the building developers design flaw. I do love landscaping and greenery, but the street lined young trees hide this beautiful new spot. The plaza is right on the southwest corner of 161 and Linworth. Spacious parking lot. Well lit for safety. Approaching the glass door entrance is a big arbor patio with tables & chairs to your left(see pic). Some twinkling light strands and mature vineing floral is going to make this a hot spot patio. Now you walk inside to see an open kitchen directly ahead on the far wall. The lengthy bar on your right, reaches out to welcome you. With a red brick front and wood top, it draws your eyes upward. There perched on a large overhang is a big chalkboard(see pic) with colorful chalk menu items. Black ceiling with exposed ductwork and lighting. These are the same iron and wood tables as the other location. Good call on that decor. The service was spot on. They had great menu knowledge and suggestions. Beverages were continually filled, and plating cleared. Tough job for a party of 30. They did it all with a smile. There is no kids menu but our server did suggest a couple small pasta plates. The kids were eating off all the plates anyway. The portions are quite large to share. I think the kids were all quite happy, judging by the smiles. The food here was consistent with the East spot. I think they are making sauce at one spot, for both places. Same with some of the other items. Everything is made fresh daily, or to order. We could see into the kitchen as they were pounding and breading the chicken for the Parmesan. I've previously tried and loved the fresh salad, pizza(see video), chicken parm, cavatelli, marinara, meatball, garlic cheese bread, and canolli. So I was all about sharing some Chicken pesto pizza, Gnocchi Alfredo, and that delicious Sausage stuffed pepper. That will be the first item I order on my next visit. What a fireworks of favors on the palette. This location has a FULL bar. 6 beers on tap(see pic), and Borgata labeled wines from Camelot Cellars. Great Chianti style with wonderful fruity flavors. I admit I sampled many of the wines on the table. Pino Grigio. Barolo. A red Montepulciano which must of been good, because it was gone, and I only got a sip. There was a special seasonal wine in house that night. A cranberry Malbec that blew us away. I took home a bottle. It will be a great wine with the upcoming fall holidays. I bought it has a host gift. We'll see if it makes it that long. The restaurant does have a retail license for selling bottles out the door. As you do go out the door, you can look down and see two footprints on the floor. These are the owners granddaughters'. She has Cystic Fibrosis, and the owner does benefits each year for several local childrens illness fundraisers. I have to agree with MC! I'm from NY and it hard to find good pizza here. When I found this place a few years ago I couldn't stay away. Then one day I went and the crust was so thin you couldn't fold it without it flopping over. It was so thin it fell apart! Hardly no cheese and I asked for extra cheese! It did change! It's too expensive to be so skimpy.at as well go to Whole Foods...which by the way I've been doing. 12.00 for a 15 inch pie. read more

So, we were looking for a great NY style pizza and Borgata was recommended to us. We ordered their supreme pizza. I hate getting pizza when peppers and/or onions and they are still crunchy. This was not the case with Borgata. The veggies were soft and flavorful. We also ordered a meatball calzone. It was a real calzone in which it contains ricotta cheese with the sauce on the sauce. We loved their sauce, not too sweet, not too acidic. We will definitely visit again. read more

What happened to the Borgata I used to know? We went there to eat last week for lunch, and it just wasn't the same. It's been about a year since we've been there, and it used to be our favorite. Food was pretty darn good! Recommend giving it a shot! Only negative feedback was on the service/time it took to get our food. Example: It took almost 45 minutes just to get our appetizer. While they were cranking out the take out pizzas, I felt the dining room was a little neglected. The whole experience was about a 1.5 hours. read more
