Took my mother for an early Mother's Day dinner. Everyone, if you have not been, go now! My mother…read morecan be particular about her food, she loved everything! Our server Selina was wonderful, super helpful guiding us with the menu, attentive, but not overly attentive where it's too much. It was the right amount! Also super sweet personality! The place felt very high end and not too loud, but also very relaxed. My mother and I shared the queso fundido with chorizo and empanadas! Yum!!! Queso and chorizo went well, not battling each other in flavor. Empanadas, the pastry nice and flakey, but not dry. We both got the rib eye, cooked to perfection, the rice flavorful and oh my the corn elote, delish. The side salad it came with was a nice fresh and crisp salad. The flan was a little harder to my liking, but still tasted great with the fresh strawberries! We met the manager/owner(?) Jose, super nice guy and was telling me how they are bringing live music on weekends and mariachis! I can't wait to go back! This place is great, don't miss out, support local, support fresh. This place could be great for all kinds of days, need some refreshing ceviche and a nice cold margarita or beer, the bar is nice and classy atmosphere, want to celebrate a special moment, feels like you're in the foothills! A fun place for maybe a big event with great music, food and drinks, this is your place! Don't walk run!

Not worth the price. Service was meh. There was only two of us, they stuck us in a horribly situated tiny table. I mean if your restaurant is obviously empty, don't stick people at a table with no elbow room! May or may not return.

So good! Today I had a Sonoran dog and an asada caramelo. The caramelo came with beans. His wife…read moremakes the beans. They are some of the best refried beans I've ever had. The caramelo was tasty. I also got birria. As far as birria is concerned, I can take it or leave it. This birria, however, I finished it to the very last drop. It is really good stuff. Add a little limón and mmm, mmm, mmm! In case Yelp powers that be don't update the info I gave them, he is open everyday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. -ish. Open at least until 4:00 p.m. Sometimes 5:00, sometimes 6:00--always at least until 4:00. And also, his location is across from the Pilot truck stop on the corner of S. Burcham Ave. and E. Elvira Rd. Cash only. 5* = A top favorite. Mind-blowing good. I will definitely return and I will go out of my way to go here. Worth every dime of my money. 4* = Outstanding. Top-tier. Some elements not quite as good as it gets, but it still is worthy of my regular business. 3* = Good experience. I might do repeat business if it is convenient, the only option, the only one in its category, or on a whim, but would not be among the first thing to come to mind. Would definitely recommend you trying it to get your own take on it. 2* = Not so good. Would not recommend at all. Waste of money. 1* = How are they still in business? Stay away at all costs!

I ordered two carne asada tacos and a Sonoran hot dog. Although El Amigo does not bacon wrap theirs, it was damn good! Perfect amount of everything and only $3. The tacos were delicious and perfectly tender as well. The man running the truck was very friendly and kind, the food came out in about 4 minutes. I will be stopping here after work far more often now. It was truly delicious! ***edit to add I'm an idiot and they definitely bacon wrapped it!
