Last year for 2025, Tucson took six coveted spots on Yelp's 100 Best Places to Eat in 2025. This…read moreyear there is only one spot at #32 and it goes to Tumerico, a vegan place. You bet your ass I am going to check it out on this Taco Tuesday. Okay, the guy that greets you welcomes every customer with wide open arms. I mean, never ever have I ever met someone that awesome!!!! He walked us through the menu that seemed to have a hundred plus items. We were so overwhelmed. He told us his favorite and that is what my son ordered. The guy took the time to ask what we were in the mood for. And as we were leaving he shouted goodbye all across the room. When someone is that happy, it's infectious. Here is what we ordered: - Chocohata (authentic Oaxacan chocolate) - Mesquite Latte - Frida Khalo Tostadas - Chile Relleno - Taco Plate Warning: portions are huge!! Everything is so fresh and delicious. Vegan at its best. I could not tell that I was not eating meat. I can see how it made it to the top 100. The hours on the business page is incorrect but I am too lazy to make the correction so make sure you look it up on Google.

For what it's worth, I don't necessarily agree with Yelp's rating that Turmeric is the #1 (!) spot to eat in America. That's a stretch. HAVING SAID THAT, Turmeric is doing everything right and is outstanding in every way. The service the minute you walk in is friendly, patient, and welcoming. The salsa bar is well-stocked and flavorful. Coffee for while you wait, which honestly isn't long even when it's busy. The turnover on tables is fast because the food comes out hot and fresh, you can't stop eating The cuban tacos!!! Wow - really couldn't have told you the difference between these and actual meat tacos. Juicier than most and definitely more flavorful than any other vegetarian option I've ever had. The Freida tacos were alright - a little blander than I had hoped and wasn't trying to be anything other than a veg taco. Personally, get the Cuban tacos. You won't regret it. Promise. Salud, Tumerico!

Coming into Tesora, my son and I were admittedly a little nervous because we had saw the Yelp…read moreratings averaging out to 3.7. Reading through one of the three-point reviews, we decided to take a shot anyway since it was only marked down two points for some issues with the server. So in we go. We are in a Friday around 1:00 PM. Just after the lunch rush expect expecting there to be pretty far tables. More people receded than I expected in a large room had a private party going on as well. The place is actually quite beautiful with wonderful color schemes aren't very comfortable chairs and tables sit around. The hostess, who I believe her name was Angelina was incredibly polite, energetic and helpful. Got a seated got us water got us chips and salsa while our server Jackie was finishing up her tables in the private party to come out to us. Jackie was quick, efficient, friendly, and checked on us as often as we needed to, which wasn't much From a food perspective, we got the lunch specials for Gorditas and I tried the combo with a corn, tamale chicken enchilada, and Carne Asada taco. The presentations were simply stunning, but more than that they were functional. All of the flavors mixed in created some exceptional dishes. I have honestly never had a corn tamale as good as that one and I've lived here most of my life. The chicken enchilada was so incredibly well seasoned with just enough cheese on top to add a little extra punch along with the Crema, and all the other flavors. Tortilla bread was perfectly balanced with the meat, tasting so good you didn't eat any of the toppings. But the toppings turned it into one heck of an adventure of flavor. Yes I know. I'm waxing a little philosophically here, but the food really did impress the hell out of us. Service was great, food was great, presentation was great, environment is great we recommend coming here and we will be back. Price wise for an upscale Mexican restaurant this one's right in line around $16-$20 a plate foremost dishes. Of course you can spend more, of course you can spend less. I would have added a picture of the food, but at this point, all we have is empty plates and I didn't think that would do any of you any good.

I dropped in here yesterday for an early dinner by myself. I ordered the Pineapple Adobada Burrito…read more($18). It came with a bunch of sides: rice, refried beans, green salsa, guacamole, a grilled jalapeno and slaw, plus complimentary corn chips and red salsa. The beans and rice were perfunctory, but with the addition of salsa and bits of jalapeno they were OK. The burrito itself was large and had plenty of pork, though I didn't care for the marinade. The two salsas were good. All in all, it was just OK. The ambiance is nice and service was fine.

The caramelo was tasty. I also got birria. As far as birria is concerned, I can take it or leave it. This birria, however, I finished it to the very last drop. It is really good stuff. Add a little limón and mmm, mmm, mmm! In case Yelp powers that be don't update the info I gave them, he is open everyday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. -ish. Open at least until 4:00 p.m. Sometimes 5:00, sometimes 6:00--always at least until 4:00. And also, his location is across from the Pilot truck stop on the corner of S. Burcham Ave. and E. Elvira Rd. Cash only. 5* = A top favorite. Mind-blowing good. I will definitely return and I will go out of my way to go here. Worth every dime of my money. 4* = Outstanding. Top-tier. Some elements not quite as good as it gets, but it still is worthy of my regular business. 3* = Good experience. I might do repeat business if it is convenient, the only option, the only one in its category, or on a whim, but would not be among the first thing to come to mind. Would definitely recommend you trying it to get your own take on it. 2* = Not so good. Would not recommend at all. Waste of money. 1* = How are they still in business? Stay away at all costs!

I ordered two carne asada tacos and a Sonoran hot dog. Although El Amigo does not bacon wrap theirs, it was damn good! Perfect amount of everything and only $3. I will be stopping here after work far more often now. It was truly delicious! ***edit to add I'm an idiot and they definitely bacon wrapped it!
