This is one of my favorite places in nyc! I always take my pups here and we have such a great time. They have coffee/pastries but also delicious food including breakfast and lunch foods. I especially love their humus dip! Everything I've eaten is so fresh and delicious! The staff is very lovely. The space is large enough for a bunch of pups to play at once. This place truly gives you a boost of euphoria! I mean who doesn't love dogs and food?? The best! Highly highly recommend a visit!

If you're visiting Boris & Horton, it's because you're either looking for a place to bring your dog, or you're looking to play with other people's dogs while they work. Either way, it's a great place to visit and truly one of a kind. They've thought of almost everything - dog safe baked goods for purchase, extra protection to make sure your pup doesn't escape when someone is walking in, and even a doggy hall monitor paying close attention to see if there are any accidents to clean up. You're not visiting here for the beverages or food, so with that being said, they're okay. Not the best coffee and not the best sandwich I've had, but it's a place to bring my dog while I work and have a strong internet connection, so that's a win for me! If deciding to come check out this magical place, be sure to make a purchase in support - don't just visit for the free petting zoo and leave.

The concept of this dog cafe easily makes this 5-stars for me to start off with. I truly wish there are more places like this as someone who is always looking for dog-friendly spot. The biggest different is that you pup can join you inside instead of most other spots that only allow dogs outdoors in the patio. No, I do not want to sit outside with my dog on a super hot/cold day. Anyways, there's a separate side for the cafe and another for the dog side. On the dog side, dogs roam free without leashes like a dog park. Of course be responsible and watch your dog in case anything happens. They also had a lot of doggie treats and accessories for sale, so I had to treat my dog to a Puptart ($5.50). It's super cute and my dog loved it! There's also a dog affirmation vending machine that I was obsessed with for only $1 each print. I seriously wanted to get all of them, but stopped at 3.. for now. Also, got an Iced Green Tea ($4) for myself, which was very plain. I didn't care for it too much, but will definitely return here because it's perfect place to bring my pup while I work.

It was such a cool place. But it gets too crowded and I suggest that if your dog doesn't like to be around other dogs don't bring them. I was afraid to let go my dog because he almost got attacked 3 x . I couldn't enjoy it . I was so scared. It was a friend's dog birthday party. I must say, great place to have it in . Just the dog situation I have a problem with . Everything else. It nice . I will return.

the arepas were the perfect balance of sweet & savory! it was full of meat & topped with guava -- a unique combo that works so well together. there were a ton of cute & friendly dogs running around! just a heads up, there's a $5 fee on top of your order if you plan to sit inside the dog section of the cafe & don't have your own dog

Boris and Norton. You know everyone raved about this place on tik tok! A dog cafe! And the idea is there, but in reality is it something you really want... Well think about it. Who doesn't love dogs. However a bunch of dogs in one confined place, with no open windows... that's a whole lot of smells hahaha! If you can handle it and work at the same time, this is the place to be. However if you can't, you are better bringing your hot spot to central park and sitting there. The staff are friendly and the coffee is good! You order in a separate area, away from dogs. There is also outdoor seating, which allows you to interact with dogs as they come in and out. Definitely an experience!

Excellent food - had a chicken wrap and a macchiato and they were delish! Service is above and beyond! I wanted a caramel macchiato but the Stbx style and they gave me the traditional style. I was ok with it but why saw the surprise on my face and they made me the other one for free! Sooo sweet! Was totally surprised by that gesture as I was happily eating and drinking away when they came with the extra coffee! Ambiance is just fun and puts a smile on your face because it's a doggy cafe after all! Would go back anytime here! Pls check them out if you haven't already!

My partner and I were looking for a dog cafe in Manhattan and found that Boris & Horton was a popular place. We ended up going on a Saturday afternoon. Once we arrived, our order was taken in a timely manner and realized there was good seating in the cafe as well. Definitely a great place to study or do work remotely because of how spacious the area was. We got a cold brew with milk and it was very bitter...I will have to say that it wasn't the best in town. Also, the matcha lemonade was alright and towards the bottom of the drink, there were a handful of chunks that wasn't mixed correctly. I thought this was a dog cafe where there would be many pets wandering around, but I guess it's based on whether owners will bring their dogs, so not what I was expecting. A great place to bring pets any day though. Food: 3/5 Service: 5/5 Ambiance: 4/5

As a dog lover but not ready for the responsibility of being a dog owner, this place is ideal. I always think to myself having a dog for 2 hours a day would be perfect. Maybe I have commitment issues idk. Anyways, there are few cures in life for having a rough day like a little labradoodle named Tata running up wagging his tail 100 miles an hour while you are trying to get some work done ahahah. How could I not crack a smile? I got to talking to one of the staff who was working on the floor, and it turned out to be the owner. His dog is Boris and his daughter's, Horton. Coppy's passion for his business oozes out of him and brought a smile to my face. He created this because either him or his daughter would always have to wait outside with the dogs as the other got their coffee. You have to respect this level of innovation and follow through, a true entrepreneurial spirit. The coffee is great as well, as the cold brew had me LOCKED in.

Visited on sunday at around noon time. The place is a cute cafe and indoor dog playground. There are many street parkings available. It's pretty easy to travel via Subway. There are some ev charging stations around the neighborhood. The place is pretty clean. The manager usually cleans right after if there is any accident. There is a double door for possible run out. Make sure you open one door at a time. There are many tables and outlets. Ordered avocado toast. It was amazing. Avocado paste tasted very fresh and well seasoned. The price is a bit high. It was 13 dollars. Cold brew tasted pretty mediocre. Typical cold brew. Overall, i really enjoyed bringing my little fur baby to this place. I could enjoy brunch and coffee and still have my fur baby to have some fun!!

Dog friendly cafe, offering a nice range of delicious snacks, teas, juices, smoothies and even alcoholic beverages too. I opted to sit on the bench outside and enjoy the weather. I ordered an Americano and regretted it after waiting for what felt like an eternity, It was pretty standard but good. I suggest the cold brew on tap unless you have an extra 10-15 minutes and don't mind waiting. If your looking for a chill spot to hang out with your pup while you get some work done or catch up with a friend there's plenty of seating inside too.

The most adorable dog café tucked into the heart of East Village -- happened upon this spot and it was such a boost of serotonin. They have the cafe split into a humans-only and dogs-only side -- the puppies are really well-behaved, albeit chaotic. It was fun to hang out and play with some dogs while waiting for our drinks, and the owners are all so friendly! I didn't love my matcha, since it felt super chalky. That being said, my friend loved his coffee drink.

This place is paradise for dog lovers! Came today for the second time with a friend and her dog. Ordered a bunch of food to go as I had a gift card. The staff is super friendly and helpful, and the food was delicious. I haven't finished what I brought home yet but the fig and jam grilled cheese and iced green tea were delicious. My friend got lemonade and an egg and cheese sandwich which she enjoyed. The place was packed and all the patrons were really nice, and the dogs of course were absolutely adorable.

Hi there! Boris & Horton is New York's first dog friendly cafe that operates within health department guidelines. While dogs don't live on the premises there will be adoption events on a regular basis. Hope that helps!

Super conveniently located off the ACE line too at Canal St. They provide all the materials and your preference and they help match you with a furry friend. They were advertising a specific pick up and drop off date for the animals for this program, but i wanted to participate for a bit longer so I called a few days before to see if they're able to accommodate. The staff who answered didn't know the answer so they took down my info and told me someone would call me back. Days passed and I didn't hear back so I had to make a trek down there to ask in-person so that was a bit inconvenient. I wanted some time to prep my home. Anyway when I let them know that I'm a beginner foster and would prefer a cat that is generally friendly with no behavior problems, they helped me match with an adorable adult cream kitty. I picked her up with no issues. They provided me with all the supplies (and more) that I'd need for my week-long foster commitment. They also provided a number that I could text with any concerns should any issues come up. My whole experience was very positive. I'm glad to see that they have now expanded their program with allowing folks to take a dog out for a walk. I've seen further Instagram posts posting about these excursion experiences, but I think you have to come early during the day as only a limited number of dogs are eligible candidates daily. I've done similar excursions at Sean Casey in Brooklyn (no appointment necessary) and ACC (booking required a few days in advance online) so I'm excited this opportunity exists here in a more centrally located place in Manhattan. The shelter also allows visitors to come and view and play with their cats. You just need to make sure you wash your hands before interacting with them. I love this but also hope this doesn't overwhelm the cats too much.

I came back an hour or so later and she was in the process of getting adopted :,) happy for her but sad for me. It's ok! I just thought that maybe it wasn't meant to be. A week later, I came back to Best Friends with my boyfriend on a mission to adopt a cat. They had an additional room towards the back that housed kittens!!! There were so many to choose from. We chose Juni because she was very cuddly and had a little quirky mustache. The staff made the adoption process so quick and easy. They even provided us a care package with all the necessities (kitten litter, wet and dry food). I expressed my concerns about introducing Juni to our cat at home, and they provided a step by step guide. They even followed up 2 weeks later with our progress. The employees and volunteers here really love what they do.

What's more frustrating is how much control they want compared to other shelters. Most adoption processes are more straightforward--this one involves initial contact, a lengthy application, an interview that feels invasive, and a two-week trial period where they decide if you're good enough. This isn't standard across the industry, and honestly, it's a deterrent. Worst part? She did all this knowing the cat would stay in the shelter. I already have experience, a safe home, and was willing to adopt an older cat. If someone else truly wanted the cat, I'd be fine with that--I just wanted to see an animal get a home. But gatekeeping isn't helping anyone. The humane society works just fine and it's much easier.
