If dogs could design a café, it would probably look a lot like Boris & Horton. This is one of my favorite places in NYC because everything here is built around dogs and the people who love them. Humans are welcome, of course, but let's be honest--we're the main attraction. Over the years I've visited for several events, including an Italian Greyhound meetup and most recently the World Pup Cup. There's always something happening, whether it's movie screenings, comedy shows, trivia nights, breed meetups, adoption events, or seasonal celebrations. The atmosphere is welcoming and community-focused. It's the kind of place where you can strike up a conversation with another dog parent in line and leave with a new friend. They offer treats and food for dogs, drinks and snacks for humans, and regularly support small pet-focused businesses by hosting pop-ups and showcasing new dog-friendly products. It feels less like a café and more like a community hub for NYC dog lovers. One thing I especially appreciate is how many different dogs you get to meet during every visit. Whether you're social, shy, young, old, tiny, or enormous, there's usually a pup here who wants to say hello. This is one of my favorite places in nyc! I always take my pups here and we have such a great time. They have coffee/pastries but also delicious food including breakfast and lunch foods. I especially love their humus dip! Everything I've eaten is so fresh and delicious! The staff is very lovely. The space is large enough for a bunch of pups to play at once. Either way, it's a great place to visit and truly one of a kind. They've thought of almost everything - dog safe baked goods for purchase, extra protection to make sure your pup doesn't escape when someone is walking in, and even a doggy hall monitor paying close attention to see if there are any accidents to clean up. You're not visiting here for the beverages or food, so with that being said, they're okay. Not the best coffee and not the best sandwich I've had, but it's a place to bring my dog while I work and have a strong internet connection, so that's a win for me! The concept of this dog cafe easily makes this 5-stars for me to start off with. I truly wish there are more places like this as someone who is always looking for dog-friendly spot. The biggest different is that you pup can join you inside instead of most other spots that only allow dogs outdoors in the patio. No, I do not want to sit outside with my dog on a super hot/cold day. Anyways, there's a separate side for the cafe and another for the dog side. On the dog side, dogs roam free without leashes like a dog park. Of course be responsible and watch your dog in case anything happens. They also had a lot of doggie treats and accessories for sale, so I had to treat my dog to a Puptart ($5.50). It's super cute and my dog loved it! There's also a dog affirmation vending machine that I was obsessed with for only $1 each print. I seriously wanted to get all of them, but stopped at 3.. for now. My partner and I were looking for a dog cafe in Manhattan and found that Boris & Horton was a popular place. We ended up going on a Saturday afternoon. Once we arrived, our order was taken in a timely manner and realized there was good seating in the cafe as well. Definitely a great place to study or do work remotely because of how spacious the area was. We got a cold brew with milk and it was very bitter...I will have to say that it wasn't the best in town. Also, the matcha lemonade was alright and towards the bottom of the drink, there were a handful of chunks that wasn't mixed correctly. I thought this was a dog cafe where there would be many pets wandering around, but I guess it's based on whether owners will bring their dogs, so not what I was expecting. As a dog lover but not ready for the responsibility of being a dog owner, this place is ideal. I always think to myself having a dog for 2 hours a day would be perfect. Maybe I have commitment issues idk. How could I not crack a smile? I got to talking to one of the staff who was working on the floor, and it turned out to be the owner. His dog is Boris and his daughter's, Horton. Coppy's passion for his business oozes out of him and brought a smile to my face. He created this because either him or his daughter would always have to wait outside with the dogs as the other got their coffee. Visited on sunday at around noon time. The place is a cute cafe and indoor dog playground. There are many street parkings available. It's pretty easy to travel via Subway. There are some ev charging stations around the neighborhood. The place is pretty clean. The manager usually cleans right after if there is any accident. There is a double door for possible run out. Make sure you open one door at a time. There are many tables and outlets. Ordered avocado toast. It was amazing. Avocado paste tasted very fresh and well seasoned. The price is a bit high. They have the cafe split into a humans-only and dogs-only side -- the puppies are really well-behaved, albeit chaotic. We finally checked out the reopening of Boris & Horton. There's two separate rooms and entrances, one for humans and one for dogs. I liked how they have a controlled door where you can enter one at a time for the safety of dogs. When we entered, tbh, it was a bit chaotic. It was filled with both people and dogs, but more people than dogs. It was super loud in there and not a lot of space for dogs to roam around. There were a couple of people without dogs dining and felt a bit uncomfortable because my pup likes to jump up on the table and smell/eat the food, so I felt a bit uneasy because I didn't want my pup to disturb them. There was also a big group that was celebrating a birthday, which was not the dog's birthday but the owner's (I just don't think it's the right place to have one, tbh). However, I did really enjoy the cold brew and cheese danish, but dogs aren't allowed in the other room where you have to pick up the order. I felt uncomfortable leaving my pup alone in the other room, so you'll want to have someone else with you at the time to watch your dog. My pup loved eating the pup cake, which they had a variety of along with pupper cups. On the other hand, it was cool to see my pup's picture being selected to be hung on the bathroom wall. Another day, another doggie cafe. Me & my uncle love checking out dog cafes with my pup so we decided to come here on a Sunday afternoon! There are two entrances once you go inside - the cafe & then the puppy area! I liked that you couldn't open up the front door if the puppy area door was open! This was a smart concept so there are no puppies running out! We decided to go for some pastries and coffee but there are food options available such as avocado toast, sandwiches, etc. Prices were okay! The coffee was pretty good, pastries were fresh! The aesthetic altogether is super pretty, it's spacious for puppies to play & the AC was blasting which we love on a sunny summer day! We walked into the cafe right next to it so called a doggy cafe with my dog, the staffs were very rude to me and my family and shouted at us "dog is not allowed here! We served human food". I feel extremely disappointed of how their staffs react to customers with dogs when they are a dog cafe business, and my dog is a service dog, also you have a clear sign board with dog portrait right in front of your door, if you don't allow dogs pls PUT UP THE SIGN! Bark of the town! This is such a cute dog cafe, one side for humans & food, one side for pups. They have doggy treats and goods (toys, clothes, accessories, etc) and they have coffee and small bites for humans which is pretty delicious considering it's a dog cafe! The ordering system in place is super convenient for the hectic environment (order on app/site and pick up alert when ready) so you don't miss a beat with your pup! Dogs running around, avocado toast and tasty coffee.. This place is an absolutely dream! We found Boris & Horton coming back from the Tompkins Square dog park and so happy we did! It's a restaurant on one side and a dog cafe that allows dogs inside on the other but you can get to either easily. We hung out in the cafe and the moment we walked in, there were so many happy dogs off leashes, running around playing, having the time of their lives! There's a little counter where you can order human or dog treats. I loved the lavender latte and avocado toast (super basic, but no shame!). Staffs so friendly and happy but how could you not be if you work there?! There's a cute little area too where you can pick up some sweaters for your pup or even a puppy backpack, like we did. This would be a great place to work from one afternoon when you need a change of scenery! My favorite part about this place is how much they want to help dogs without homes! Even if you don't have a dog, I think the ambience is a great place to study or work because you can always take a quick break to pet some cuddly dogs. Though, I recommend some good noise cancelling headphones. Layout 9/10 The layout and setup of the store is thoughtful laid out. There's a dog free section if you don't want to be disturbed. In the doggy side there's a shopping section for supplies and organic freeze dried treats! My dogs loved them. They also have some free ones by the counter to treat the pups while you're at the cafe. If you want the undying love of dogs, grab a few and see what happens. Food 7/10 I got an avocado toast and latte. They were both good portions and tasty. Usually food at pet cafes are low quality, but I think the quality here is almost on par with a regular neighborhood cafe. Don't expect gourmet though. read more

We hosted our Apex for Youth volunteer fall social at Boris & Horton from 6:30-8:30pm on a Saturday night. The space is amazing with enough to host 75 people and numerous dogs. We had two restrooms and didn't even need the outdoor space. We loved working with Melissa and Sonali throughout the night, they were fantastic at getting people their drinks through all the noise & managing our tab. We brought our pup here last year for their first birthday and then came back again for their second birthday this past weekend. We love the dog friendly baked goods, the kind staff, and all the fun pop ups they do here. We visited during a Happy Bull Pizza pop up and enjoyed our za with a latte from next door while our pup frolicked with new friends. I was bummed to find that they no longer had the photo booth which was always so fun. I typically love coming here, but today i had a terrible lavender latte. It tasted a lot like soap, which i have never experienced before. I even asked if they could remake it (something i never do) and even the remake was terrible. I passed it around for my friends to taste as well and they said the same. That being said, the other drinks are delicious. In my past experiences here the coffee is always delicious. I'm hoping this is just a one time experience, and maybe next time (if there is one ha) the drink i order will be a lot better.
