Let me start by saying I just moved to AZ from Laguna Beach, CA. This was my first time going out for food in downtown Chandler. I had no idea where I wanted to go (was just walking around and exploring). I chose born & bred for two reasons: it was the last restaurant left on my walk and the atmosphere seemed to be the best. I order a salad w chicken, fries, and 2 beers. never would I have imagined that this would be over $60. A meal like this in Laguna Beach looking over the ocean probably would be $50. The portions were very small considering the price as well. I'm still giving 3 stars due to the kindness of the staff and the atmosphere, but I will not be returning here due to the price. read more

Tried out born and bred and was very impressed. To start off, service was excellent. Our server was so nice and friendly and just added to the experience. Ordered a few items to share with the table.. Mac and cheese app was delicious! Ooey gooey just as it should be. Chopped salad was a hit! Couldn't get enough of the blue cheese spread. Mori Madeira chicken was perfectly cooked and the pretzel bread pudding was a great ending to a fabs meal! Visited this place for the first and last time on Monday. My salmon was like a rock; way overcooked. The food is way overpriced.

The wife and I went to B&B on a Thursday at around 6. Sat at the bar and let it all sink in. Relaxed and a great vibe. Mixologist Mat was warm and knowledgeable. Shocked at my experience here. Their menu is pretty small and focuses on classic brunch options, which you would think would make them hard to mess up. I ordered the steak and eggs which was $48. The steak here was pretty weird and slimy(?!) which I really did not know was possible. As I chewed, I regretted even taking another bite. We came for Easter Brunch. We arrived much earlier than our nephew and we had a morning cocktail. Let me tell you have the NEW COMER it's amazingly delicious. Disappointed. Their Open Table posted they have happy hour daily, Hostess scoffed at the suggestion. The place was dead between 4 and 6. I told server I would help them bring attention to the false claim. claim and try to increase their business. I guess time will tell. I won't return until they correct things. Dined here for the first time this weekend, and man oh man.. the food was spectacular. We got a couple drinks, oysters, chicken, and a burger and everything was fantastic. The Caesar salad with the burger was amazing, the dressing had cilantro in it, which was different but great. Heard about this spot and had to give it a try. First off the atmosphere is modern and sophisticated. Don't pass on the cocktails because they are truly one of a kind. The Hawaii-five O has so many flavor profiles! The Brussels sprouts appetizer was a hit and the goat cheese definitely set them apart from any other I've had. Very much enjoy burrata, frites, braised carrots, and brussel sprouts. Picky dad loved the mac and cheese. Also tried scallop risotto entree- delicious but risotto needed another 5ish minutes. Mildly al denté. Restaurant was a little chilly and music was loud but everyone was kind and accommodating. Never filled up in terms of tables and were there 2 hours. First time here and loved every minute! The atmosphere is very fun, even on a slower night. Our server was very attentive and filled waters often. The food was delicious. The truffle frites and aioli were to die for. Rigatoni had lots of flavor and the right amount of heat (did not over power). Key lime pie for dessert was a great finishing note. This place was OK. Food was not worth the money. We had two entrees and few drinks and our bill was just under 200 dollars. If I was to go back it would be just to meet a friend for a drink or two. Here's the deal, will I come back; yep. Everything was good but something was missing. Service was good, food was good, but it was just short of that wow factor. It was pretty loud and tables are fairly crowded on top of each other along the banquette so maybe that was it. This restaurant is in a beautiful part of chandler with great view of the sunset and classic hotel park. The cocktails are impressive, my favorite being the spicy margarita with the tajin rim. This dining option in downtown Chandler has a great ambiance. Open and modern while being welcoming. The service was prompt, attentive and ensured we had a great dining experience. As for the food. For the most part it was really good. Sadly they burnt the bread and unlike my grandma who used to scrape it off they served it. The short rib and swordfish were really good. Just an overall strange experience for us. Hostess was not friendly greeting us at the door, the wait was so long we decided to grab a spot at the bar. Thankfully, the bartender was very kind and made a fantastic Mocktail for me. After the drink order is when the experience became very weird. We ordered an appetizer and entrées. After waiting for about 45 minutes, none of our food came. The bartender was frantically checking with the kitchen. Our appetizer never came out, my husband's burger came out probably 20 minutes before my entrée. I ordered the scallops and risotto... The risotto was hard almost inedible, had maybe 3 bites, nobody ever checked to see how our food was. My husband did love his burger, said it was delicious and had a lot of flavor. We ended up ordering dessert, we got the bread pudding with salted caramel ice cream. After what seemed like a very long time, someone came out with a single scoop of salted caramel ice cream. We saw the bartender stop the food runner before getting to us, check her computer, take the ice cream and then brought it to us, indicating that the bread pudding was still cooking, but she was giving us a complementary scoop of ice cream... I think she rang in the wrong order. Dessert did come eventually, and was delicious. Before we cashed out, a cockroach ran across the bar. The bartender assured us that they clean thoroughly, and that bugs are common due to leaving the doors open. I think this place has potential, but definitely some areas to shore up. Seemed very disorganized, and given that the hostess is the first impression of the restaurant as soon as people walk in, you may want to consider hiring or training people to be friendly to guests. read more

I was very excited to try this place and unfortunately was very much let down and we won't be back. What was the point of putting down on the reservation that it was my mom's birthday for it to not be acknowledged whatsoever? To top it off, they gave us the SMALLEST table at the restaurant and we played balancing glass plates the entire time so we couldn't have a peaceful conversation because we had to keep moving stuff and adjusting plates until we finally dropped a knife on the floor that TWO servers stepped on before it was finally picked up. The menu was extremely small so I ended up ordering an app for dinner. the waitress spoke so fast she had to repeat herself multiple times and we felt rushed out. The manager asked the beautiful huge party how their service was..we were not asked and barely acknowledged the entire time. I was really excited for this place in downtown Chandler. Two stars for the waitress just being nice in general and the wings were good. I'm a local in Chandler and think I speak for the rest of us locals when I say this is a fantastic addition to our downtown area. I usually come alone and sit at the bar, and while I love all the bartenders- Bailey is a personal favorite of mine. She's the first one I met there and has remembered me every time since. This place sucks!! The service is god awful. We were here on a Sunday morning, right before noon. We were quoted a 25 minute wait and the restaurant was half empty. Ended up waiting the full 25 minutes before being sat. It was another 10 minutes before the server came over. She took our drink order. She got my daughters drink oder wrong and forgot the sweetener that my wife asked for. We put our food order in. My daughter asked if she could sub out the bacon for fruit. The server said she would check. After several minutes, she came back and said there would be an uncharged for fruit instead of bacon. Huh? Anyways, because she took her sweet time finding that out, she delayed putting our food order in. By this time, it's past 1pm and we still don't have food. We got up and left. I realize that our server was training. Why in the world is there no supervision or support? I don't blame the server. I blame the management, or lack thereof. We came here on a Saturday night. We were able to snag two bar seats ( we had a reservation but it was 30 mins before we arrived). I would like to say the staff was very welcoming. We ordered drinks 2 drinks and they were great. We attempted to order oysters as an appetizer. They apparently were out on a Saturday night at 6pm. We ordered the roasted brussel sprouts. They were not roasted and very soggy - not to mention cameout literally 5 mins (that's being generous) after were ordered them so they were either someone else's order or had been sent back by someone else. We then attempted to order dinner - my husband did the steak and frites and I tried to order the scallops - again they were out of the scallops. At this point we were super underwhelmed by our experience and cancelled our dinner order. We ended up going down the way to Elliots. I wanted to like this place. The atmosphere was fun and energetic but with an already limited menu and being out of items that we wanted I can't say I'd be back for dinner.
