I've been going to Bo's Imports since I was 16. Bo was always honest, helpful and his prices couldn't be beat. When recommending him to friends they would get quotes on work from somewhere else, I'd tell them to call Bo for another quote and his was always lower. Over the years Bo helped me keep several vehicles running, replaced several windows, and gave me rides back to work when I was going to call a cab or an Uber or a friend to come and get me. I regret not writing a glowing review sooner because I believe the quality of work, integrity, honor and kindness I found at Bo's Imports is rare and to be highly commended. When I heard that Bo retired I was naturally concerned about where I would go when I needed work done on my car. I had heard that someone had taken over the business so when my check engine light went on, I took it to Bo's and hoped for the best. My check engine light was on because a couple of days ago I took my car elsewhere for a routine oil change and after pulling away I could feel a difference in my car. There was a problem while idling and if I put my foot on the gas it was struggling to engage. It also stalled a few times, thankfully not on the freeway. During the oil change, they disconnected something despite having no reason to do so. This has happened to me before when I took a tire in to be repaired at a well known tire place but that time I did stall on the freeway. I got to Bo's, met Pravi and told him what was happening. He immediately took a look, we spotted the sabotage (let's face it, that's what it was), he put the air intake piece (or whatever it is) back in place and reset my check engine light and sent me on my way without charging me a penny. I'm so glad I get to say that Bo's Imports will continue to be my go-to shop and I'll never go anywhere else if I can help it. read more

I am new to the area and was (urgently) looking for a mechanic for my Land Rover. I say "urgently" because these folks rose to the challenge, they really showed up for me in my time of need! Great service! Went in the morning without an appointment to get my front tire that was losing air looked at. They told me they were busy, but to come back in the afternoon and they would look at my car no problem. When I went back, they inspected my tire, found the nail that was stuck in it, and repaired it all under 20 minutes. This has definitely become my go-to auto shop. I have a 2013 GMC Savana that's one of the electronic part doesn't let us start the vehicle so I had to Tow it So the tow truck driver Told me that he have somebody that can help me with that So I agree he tow it Around 5 o'clock and by the morning my van was here I came here in the morning to see what's going on the guy told me it's gonna take about an hour diagnostic So I agree I got here at 9:35 am And I was reading over seven hours that nobody touch the car or check what's going on with it after seven hour the guy came to me and told me we cannot do anything you can tow it to another place I had The worst experience In my life in this place I will never come back here and I highly recommend to everyone Do not deal with this people they are very unprofessional and then they will waste your time read more

Never take it to these guys. I had to get my brakes fixed on my BMW X1 and they charged me 1000 dollars to get them done. First the brakes were not fixed and they were squeaking hard braking everywhere. They damaged my wheel lock for my car didn't put 2 wheel locks on the front tires. They said they put BMW ordered parts but when I went to another place to get the squeaking fixed they said they put "cheap parts" and threw them together so they weren't meshing well when braking. Warn you, these guys take your money and "fix" the problem. DO NOT GO HERE read more

This place is no longer owned by Bo but instead owned by a man named Pravi who took over ownership in recent years. In the past, Bo and his team would take great care of either my dad's old Pontiac or Volvo and I could drive either car after getting it serviced and know that the job would be done right. I kept that same expectation taking my dad's Volvo here in 2019 and after learning about the new ownership, I hoped the quality of work would be the same. Nope. After taking it in to examine my check engine light, I was told the circuitry was messed up and I'd have to buy a replacement part to get it fixed. Opted not to but got the vehicle serviced as it was time for the usual oil change. There was no problems with the car besides the check engine light which was caused by the faulty circuitry HOWEVER when I came to pick up the car, Pravi tells me there's a little coolant leaking and tops me off with coolant. Bo and his team would never have let me drive off but this guy does and after driving it less than 5 miles, the coolant completely empties. I then am forced to go back to pay thousands to get it fixed. Should have just junked the car. I'm done with this place. It lost customer service when Bo left. Oh and the "straight to voicemail" reminders for a service appointment? Ha! Put me on a do not contact list, thanks. read more

I ran over a chunk of metal on the freeway and it just destroyed my transmission. I had never heard of Bo's Imports before. The AAA driver recommended them. I have to say, I was not disappointed. Mohammed at Bo's Imports is super friendly, always available, and hung in there with me despite a nightmare of a claims adjuster that we were both forced to deal with. I got the car back, the work was completed in a very timely manner, they did a great job on the transmission, it runs great. Very happy with them. I have a 2007 997 Targa 4 that was due for not only its annual service, but it's 12 year service as well. After researching for several days and calling various shops throughout the Bay area, including a few dealerships, I came across Bo's Imports in an unexpected way. Upon searching the work required in forums and various websites, I knew that I could possibly accomplish some of the work myself, but not the heaviest and most involved aspect of it. I discovered that the rear main seal was going to need to be replaced as well, which is a feat only very few DIY'ers can accomplish with the right tools and equipment. (For those of you PCar owners, you know what kind of work is involved with the aforementioned.) I left messages with several shops and surprisingly, never got a call back nor were the ones that were a possibility of my choosing to do the work readily available. Anyhow, one evening I came across Costco's Auto Program (you have to be a Costco member to take advantage of this offer and a coupon code given to you afterward) which refers participating auto services located nearest to you at a 15% discounted rate. Upon entering the required information, I had 2 shops recommended to me, the dealership (obviously) and Bo's Imports. My thought was that if an independent ("Indy") shop is being recommended by Costco, it's gotta meet certain requirements and have outstanding ratings. I looked into the business and upon reading reviews and checking the history through the BBB website, I reached out to the shop the next day and spoke with Muhamed. I gave him a run down of what my car needed and mentioned the Costco program discount. He was very patient and friendly and was able to give me a quote over the phone including the 15% Costco discount. I informed him that I already had most of the parts/oils on order but if I needed anything else would he be obliged to order it and he agreed. I dropped my vehicle off and considering the amount of work involved, I got it back in exactly one week. I must say that I was impressed with the level of communication and professionalism. Muhamed is a man of his word and given today's Indy mechanic shops' reputations, it's really challenging to come across an honest and trustworthy shop such as Bo's. For all of the above, I rate Bo's Imports 5 stars! They've definitely made a new customer out of me and I will continue to bring them my business (and hopefully other's) when vehicle maintenance and repairs are needed. Their mechanics are highly skilled and for all of my fellow PCar owners, save the $$ you'll spend elsewhere and bring your car to Bo's Imports. My cousin took her car in here because it wasn't starting. After they fixed it, it started spewing liquid everywhere. When I took it back, they said I had leaks everywhere, which was never a problem before. I took it to another mechanic and he said that Bos imports and lied and my car was just fine. I read the reviews here and I needed some advice about a persistent problem with the engine dying on my older model car. I stopped by Bo's and was very impressed because after listening to all my explanations Bo made a quick inspection and found a problem with the air conditioning unit. He recommended that I take it back to the shop that had replaced the compressor to see about warranty work, etc. I highly recommend Bo's because of his Aloha spirit in dealing with customers and his expertise in providing a recommendation based on what he feels is best for his customer's situation. read more

My car was shaking horribly and I didn't want to drive it very far to avoid worsening the issue. My usual mechanic is in Daly City, and I was in Hayward so I knew I couldn't risk driving all that way. A good friend recommended I take my car to Bo, so I thought I'd give it a try. I dropped off my car early in the morning before work, and the checkin process was quick. Bo was very friendly and professional, I immediately felt like my car was in good hands. He offered to give me a ride, and also told me that if I was interested in renting a car he could offer me a special deal through a rental company. The deal really was excellent, and even though I wasn't planning on renting a car I decided to because it was really affordable. Later that day Bo's associate called my husband with an estimate and was upfront and honest with us and layed out which repairs were urgent and which could wait. As soon as we told him what we wanted done he told us the car would be ready to pick up the next day. When I arrived to pick up my car the price was exactly as I had been quoted. I was very happy with the service and I really appreciate their honesty. I defnitely feel I can trust Bo's and in the future if I have car trouble I'll be going there. read more

An all around wonderful experience. I will be going back. I brought my father's van in to check a sound that I was hearing. Carlos was very thorough with his investigation and did not give up until he heard the sound. He and his team narrowed it down to a transmission issue, and recommended I see a specialist. They did not charge me for their diagnostic work stating that if the transmission was the problem, I'd likely be paying quite a bit.... which turned out to be true, about $5k! Another nice touch in my opinion was that when I gave Carlos my keys, he took the house keys off immediately and gave them back to me. I was in a fender bender last December, insurance was slow on the claim, auto body shop was horrible (took 3 months to fix my car) and still didn't fix everything and even outsourced to another auto body shop?!?! Their names: George McGill's and Wright's Automotive. I DO NOT recommend these folks for even an oil change. I eventually had to have my car fixed by Bo's Imports. Took them about 2-4 hours, but same day! I highly recommend them for anything, even an oil change. From my limited experience, when a mechanic shop has been in the business for a while and is well established, customer service tends to decrease, because they don't need the business, but these guys are still hungry to take on new jobs. Customer service is great, they go the extra mile and do a detailed inspection of your car, just like a dealership would, without the inflated price. As I walk out the door after paying my bill and collecting my keys, Bo says to me, "Your car will drive like a brand new car" . I thought to myself, "Yeah, right. I'd be happy too if some handsome devil just swiped his card at my business for $1,xxx". I didn't think much of what he said and continued on to my car. I put the laser-cut key into the ignition, turned, and Vrooom! The engine roars to life. At this point, I'm still none-the-wiser as my engine wasn't having issues. I was here for suspension work. The car slowly rolls down the driveway and I accelerate onto Industrial Blvd. I was beyond pleased. The ride of my car hasn't felt this luxurious since I first drove her so many years ago. I came in for suspension work, and the quality of the drive is night and day to when I brought in my car. The handling feels tighter, the ride smoother, and the drive much quieter. I came into Bo's with concern over a problem, and they fixed it immediately. While I am very happy about the service I received, I was informed that the total price would be about $200 more than the estimate. Ron, who works up front in the reception area, took a great amount of time explaining why the actual cost would be over the estimate. I went with Ron's advice, paid a bit more than anticipated, but I'm extremely satisfied with the end result. Also, I dropped of my car at 8:30am on Friday morning, and the car was ready to go by 4:45pm as promised. Things I didn't like... I find the cost of labor to be quite high, BUT the work is quality. They're closed weekends which isn't convenient, but this may be the norm for the industry. I was told that there was a chance that my car could be completed before 2pm. Well first I would like to say this review is well overdue. My car had gone through some problems as I was living in Vegas pre-pandemic. Once I got back here and settled in I was able to take my car in the Bo's. They were super helpful and welcoming to me.
