I took in my RV to replace catalytic converter. Apparently the joker i bought it from put 2 of them in a row, not how it was supposed to be done. These guys replaced those with 2 new ones but that's totally not how they are supposed to be installed and having two in a row causes them to burn out. As professionals they should have known better. Wouldn't pass smog with two and then they failed. As install was bad warranty is worthless. I just had to buy ONE new one, now installed properly by another shop. read more

I had my car towed here due to AAA's recommendation. Even though they're closed on Saturdays, they opened to let me pull in my car (which I really appreciated). They don't work on sundays either so they got back to me on Monday about how much it would cost for diagnosis to see what was wrong (my car wouldn't start anymore and I was also experiencing a whirring sound). It costed $145 for the diagnosis and to replace my fuse which seems fair to me. However for all the different things they recommended fixing, I think they seriously overcharged me. Even though my right front wheel bearing was the only one damaged, they recommended I replace both my right and left (total 753.80, if I just fixed one 376.90). They also recommended I completely replace my brake rotor which would cost 396. I thought that cost a lot so after they replaced my fuse, I took my car back and decided to shop around for quotes now that I knew what was wrong. I ended up choosing a place that cost only $330 to replace one wheel bearing (they thought replacing the other was unnecessary). They didn't think replacing the rotor was necessary so they just turned it instead and that cost me a lot less than replacing it would. I just don't like that they recommended services that weren't necessary given the condition of my car. All in all, the people are nice at Bo's imports and thorough, but I docked two stars because I think they overcharge for their services compared to other places. read more

These guys are not to be trusted. The first thing I observed when I walked in, I was welcomed and talked to like we were all buddies. I explained I was a new owner of my used Mercedes Benz S550 and wanted to have a few things checked out as well as the first major service done on it. Pravi gave me a quote for the first major service at 29,000-miles of $84500. I told him that I had recently changed the oil one week before and he could deduct that---- he said, "he already deducted that cost." So, I scheduled an appointment for the $84500 service. As a precaution I contacted Mercedes of San Francisco service department and I was given a quote of $710 to provide same full first-time major service including the oil change. Since the oil change was about $100, I would then assume the cost for the service would be $600. I called Pravi and asked him if his shop was normally more expensive than Mercedes or cheaper, he replied saying that "Mercedes always charges twice as much as we do." I then informed him of the quote I had from MB of SF, at which time he immediately dropped his price from $845 to $610. Now... I've got to think, if I can't trust this guy to give normal pricing for a first-time service what on earth would make me think I could trust him to actually do the work, he could "say" he changed the fluid and simply not do it--trust now gone. As with any auto mechanic, number one is trust--these guys don't deserve any. By the way I was requested several times during the course of our conversation that, if I liked the service to go on yelp and say nice things. Well I'm definitely on yelp but, I'm telling the truth. read more

First time getting my car serviced there this past week, and the experience was ok. They were mostly nice and friendly (offered to drive me to work), but there was some miscommunication upon pickup. When I had called to follow up on my vehicle, the rep over the phone told me my air filter was dirty and it needed to be replaced. I then told him he could do it if he could get it done before 12pm, in which he told me that would be cutting it close. I then told him never mind, I will just do it next time, as I was short for time that day. Upon pickup, the person told me they had replaced the air-filters, which was sort of a shock to me. If you're going to do ANY work, that has not been approved by the customer, you should probably call them first. Although I didn't mind getting the air filter replaced, I did mind not getting a call first before the filters were going to be replaced (after I told him I'll wait to get it done). Luckily it didn't cost too much, but I may be cautious going back here for bigger work that may need to be done. They may, again, initiate into something I didn't consent to, in which I deem unprofessional. I would have given 1 or 2 stars, but the person took a small amount off the bill for the miscommunication on their part. Not enough of an amount to warrant a 4 to 5 star review, as I essentially paid for an extra service I didn't consent to. read more

I would've given this place 4 or 5 stars but for one thing... brought my 95 honda civic in the morning (6/28/10) to have the radiator replaced. The original estimate was for $250 incl an oil change. This is an incredible price and I jumped at it. But I didn't receive a call from the shop the afternoon I brought it in. Yet when I came to pick up the car, the tab was for $379. Bo was kind enough to knock off $60. Even so, it was a shock to be presented w/ a bill 50% over the original estimate. I also had an oil change which was a bit pricey - but I'm satisfied with the work nonetheless. And the quote for that was upfront and accurate. I think the work done was good. The car runs great. I'm not averse to bringing my other cars here - and if so I'll edit this review and bump the rating. But I'd be pro-active and diligent about following up to make sure the final price is what I expect next time. read more

Best Service Ever! I rarely write reviews but the service provided by Bo's is exceptional so I believe they truly deserve credit. If I can give them 10 stars I would. I brought my VW Jetta here because the earliest appointment I was able to book in VW dealership is Monday and I am worried because the emission malfunction light in my car is on & I am not sure whether I can drive it safely until that appointment (my commute is from SF to Hayward everyday). Not only did they fix it for free (he said the work done is not that much so no need to charge me) but they also spend some time observing/driving my car around because of another concern I brought up related to maybe (this is my own diagnostic) transmission. I have been looking around for a repair shop as I am new to the area and had one of the worst experiences at his place. I had a 27 point inspection done and Bo flagged 10 items for follow up. He brushed me off when I asked him to explain his findings and what needed to get done. Since I was pressed for time, I planned on calling later that day to figure out what needed to get done. When I returned home, I saw that my sunroof was derailed and completely broken! I called Bo immediately and brought my car back. Bo did not apologize for the damage done to my car and again brushed me off. Even though they were able to fix my sunroof, I was completely turned off to this place. I wish I could rate this place with no stars whatsoever. Don't bother going here-- they are rude, sloppy, and completely unprofessional. read more

My only advice would be to drop off your car with a friend and have them chauffeur you around for the rest of the day. Bo and his team performed a 4-wheel alignment job on my beloved Honda today and as far as I can tell everything is working the way it should. I was impressed with the friendliness of the staff; Bo was always near by to answer questions. Everyone seemed very friendly and not at all overbearing or egotistical. I liked the detailed alignment report that informed me of what changes were made. I also like the fact that the shop is prepared to do everything from smog checks to transmission overhaul; I'm loathe to take the car from place to place to have specific issues corrected seperately. They even have free wifi and coffee so as to care for the vehicle's owner as well. I know that eventually the Honda will need service....knowing that Bo's will be there to help is a load off my mind..... read more

Was approaching 100k miles on my '08 Audi A4. Brought the car right at the opening of the shop at 8am and got car back at around 3:30pm later that day. I had timing belt replaced, oil/filter change, new air/cabin filters and new spark plugs installed. All that work done, final bill came to $1574. Very reasonable price as I had checked other shops and quoted me $1500 just for timing belt alone. After driving the car around, noticed an improvement in throttle response and mpg. Toyota Corolla 2009 was vibrating while idling. Went to Bo's. He charged around $360 for doing nothing. The car was supposed to have a full tune up and a replacement of certain wires. Did not happen. I came here for the first time a few years back. I remember looking for a reputable mechanic on the BBB cause we have an Audi. Came to them... and never looked back. It is SUCH a peace of mind to be able to drop our cars off to them and have complete trust about what they do and their prices.
