The Taziki lacked flavor (literally it was just yogurt). And the baklava (not pictured) crumbled at the touch. If I could give them a NEGATIVE ONE star I'd gladly do so. We went there for the Saturday lunch they were half booked. They took 40mins to take our order then completely forgot about it. We showed our concern to the manager which he didn't even care or said at least sorry for such service. We decided to leave and seeing this they brought our food, I didn't want to take it but my husband wanted to calm the situation down and took the food to go. On the way home we realized that they charged for the soup but never gave us one. We had to go back to return everything. Yet again manager did not care, wasn't even bothered to apologize. I recommended to a friend that we meet here for lunch, but I had forgotten how wonderful it was. We started by splitting a Meze platter with the awesome bread and then I had a Kofta Kebab. The complimentary Turkish Tea made for a pleasant thing to sip on as we continued to catch up. The food was great, the service was great, we were unrushed. First couple times my wife and I stopped by everything was pretty good, good food, good service, not long times between somebody checking in. Last time we stopped by we almost had to beg somebody to take our order or to cash us out. And we had 3 different people checking in. At one time we overheard one guy, seemed to be a superior, asking one of the young ladies that were also helping, if she checked with us, she said she had us covered. Bosphorus is my go-to for 'healthy-ish' take out! We typically get the chicken kabob and lamb kabob which are both delicious. The meats are seasoned well and very tender. I also love the hummus! We've been here a few times and it consistently has been spot on with quality and quantity of food. Staff is attentive and accommodating. The bread comes out right away and it is warm, crusty and delicious with the flavorful sauce. They refill it without being asked. Vegetarian options available. I love Mediterranean food and where I used to live, there was a large Turkish community where I've ordered various dishes over time. On this day, I ordered a Greek salad with gyro. This disappointingly came with a few slices of preprocessed gyro on top, not quite my expectations from previous experience of sliced meat from a spit (i.e. a doner kebab). The tzatziki sauce didn't quite have the right texture and feel I'm used to (hard to put my finger on it), but the salad itself and side of bread was delicious nonetheless. Harrison and comes with an equally tiny parking lot. With the sports bar as a neighbor, you fight for parking space. It took 2 trips around the buildings to find someone coming out. There's a few spaces in the back which were full, including the no parking spaces. There didn't seem to be any other parking lots in the area where you could park and walk back to the restaurant. The service was very good with friendly servers and pretty quick delivery of orders considering the place was packed. Considering the popularity, it's a very small place and they tried to lay out the tables in the most efficient way they could which makes for a pretty loud place with everyone packed in so tight. The Cigar Bourek was very tasty with their marinara dipping sauce. The Chicken Shish Kebab was a bit light on amount for the price since really all you get is the rice and salad to go with the kebab. Many places offer larger chunks of chicken, hummus, pita and tabouli or tzatziki. The chicken was spiced very well. I would definitely recommend it but suggest going either during lunch or early dinner to avoid fighting the sports bar crowd for parking. read more

Thank God for the bread. The bread and dipping oils are amazing and tasty. Including the Lamb pide also great. But the meat portions are so skimpy it becomes disappointing. Asked if I could get the gyro as a sandwich and they couldnt even though a picture was posted on here. My wife asked if she could get a chicken kabob with the hummus plate appetizer. They couldn't. So if they just added some fries to the menu and charge more but add a bit more meat it would be much better. read more

If you're a fan of Turkish food i would say this isn't anything to write home about. the appetizers were a pretty good start to a mostly mediocre experience; we all ordered kebabs that turned out be rather over cooked and dry on all 3 of the plates. we saw our waiter maybe twice during our visit, during which we never ended up getting the complementary tea we were promised with our food, so ended up going elsewhere to get a drink to wash the palette down. pretty disappointing service and unimpressive food. We were starving in the middle of the afternoon and found good ratings of this Turkish place. Who knew there would be a line of people waiting to eat at 3pm on a Sunday?! This place is absolutely fantastic, the food and service was top notch. We came for the first time during a dinner service, was able to be seated quickly and greeted as if we had been a regular patron. This being our first time, we sampled a variety of items of the menu and ordered way more then we should have. However, it was a great sampling and they did not fail to deliver on any items. Appetizer's and entrees very well spaced out, we did not feel rushed in anyway to finish up and get out. Not for me. I can't get over how bland this food was. Place smelled delicious, everything looked great, but literally had to put salt on everything to make it even remotely flavorful (except for the bread). Nothing was spiced, the garlic yogurt sauce was just a whisper of garlic, and the "famous tomato sauce" was just a couple steps above a canned tomato sauce. Baba, hummus and the rest of the meze platter (except the dolmas) were super bland. Hummus was gritty and super cold. Not what I'm accustomed to from Turkish places (was shocked by but open to the fact that everything comes with bulgar pilaf instead of rice...but this too was bland). Maybe this is from a different region than the other Turkish foods I've had ‍ but I'm not understanding the hype here. To their credit we did have great service and the employees we encountered were warm and friendly. read more

Staff is rude, doesn't know their menu when you ask questions and didn't ask how we want to split our check and just combined it and put in one of our faces to pay, and then basically told us to get out when it was 15 minutes before they close. Yum! Bosphorus is a casual family-friendly restaurant serving up a variety of fresh and authentic Turkish/Mediterranean dishes. Judging by how packed the restaurant was for lunch last Sunday, this place must be local favorite! My friend and I shared the Cigar Bourek (fried feta cheese in filo pastry, reminded me of lighter version of mozzarella sticks), the Spinach Pide (white Turkish pizza with generous amounts of chopped spinach and feta), and the mixed grill plate (traditional mixed grilled meats with sides of rice and salad). Let's start with the good. The food was delicious, including the complimentary tea and bread. Baklava was also buttery and delicious. Parking was decent as well. My boyfriend and I were really excited to try this place since it was highly recommended by a local. However, the service was terribly off. We observed other tables receiving better service, with some light conversation by the waiter, having the bread brought to them as soon as they sat down, and offering tea and water. Our waitress did none of those things. After we sat down, it took 10 minutes for the waitress to acknowledge us and then just said are you ready? I also had to ask for the tea. My boyfriend ordered the mixed platter and I ordered Ali Nazir because I saw it came with pita bread and bulgar rice. When the dishes arrived, we didn't notice that the order was incorrect at first, but after awhile I noticed there was no bulgar in my order. I mentioned it to the waiter who said that you didn't order the Ali nazir, so you don't get bulgar. At this point, I had already eaten part of the meal so I didn't want to make a fuss and mention that the order was incorrect, but still feel like I didn't get to try what I wanted. I feel very wishy washy, this could've been a better experience but I definitely felt unwelcomed here. Probably wouldn't recommend. read more

I cannot believe I have been missing out on such a good Turkish restaurant in Cary. This place is always busy and the food speaks for itself. The portions are very large. My friend and I shared an appetizer and 2 plates but we had so much food left over. They give you bread and I could literally eat it all day long. There's sesame on top which really brings out the flavor. The Bosphorus Meze Platter is the perfect companion for the bread. I love hummus but the hummus was my least favorite of the platter...not because it wasn't good but because everything else was so good. If it is your first time here I would highly recommend this platter. It allows you to sample a little bit of everything. If you love pizza the Pide here takes it to the next level. It is crispy and the toppings and sauce complement the crust so well. We had the Chicken Pide which was savory and delicious. I would love to try the other Pide in the future. The Gyro plate was not what I expected because I was expecting Gyro meat wrapped in a pita BUT the flavors were there and because I had so much bread prior to the Gyro plate...I didn't really miss the pita. The service here is always great. I would highly recommend coming out to downtown Cary for delicious food! read more

Went there on Sunday at 5 to avoid the crowd and boy, I couldn't have been more wrong. It was packed with people with not an inch of free space left, which is to be expected from a popular place such as this. The server recommended the adana and kofte Kabab entrees, so we went with those. The complementary bread with the oil was just okay. The entrees came with salads and lentils. The adana was a tad bit better than the kofte and both were okay in terms of the seasoning and spices. There isn't adequate spacing among the tables and they are not keeping any tables reserved for the covid scenario. They do not accept amex which is a bit surprising but they do accept discover. Overall the place is a bit congested and I would consider this more of a take out option rather than dine in. read more

Meh. I got 4 cheese cigars which was very yummy. I liked these a lot. Unfortunately I liked it better than my main meal - the gyro sandwich. The bread on the gyro was a little too dry for me. The taziki sauce was not quite the tangy version I am accustomed to. The other choices were just not options that appealed to me. The waitress did not check back in on our table to see if all was satisfactory which it was not with my friend's order. When it came to get to checks, you really had to flag someone down to get their attention. I believe this was the first week for the new waitress but I honestly think she had never waitresses before and it showed. The menu was simple, maybe too simple. No sides came with my gyro. The booth style seats were extra comfy. For me personally It didn't meet my expectations. I guess I expected more or had a different idea of what it should have been. I won't be back.
