Context: - Delivery through Uber Eats at night What I got: - Chicken Shawarma Wrap (5/10) This was a very average wrap - the chicken was quite dry and was not particularly flavorful. I expected the sauce to come out more, but this was not the case. The vegetables were also underwhelming - although this was likely due to sitting in a delivery car for 15-20 minutes before getting to my door. Overall, although there was nothing bad about the wrap, nothing about it stood out to me either. - Side of Falafel (4.5/10) As with the wrap, there was little inspiring about the falafels. While the flavor was fine, the falafels were nowhere near crisp enough for me to enjoy - again, perhaps a function of getting it delivered. The vegetables that came with also suffered from the same problems that the wrap had. Additional notes: - Price is very reasonable, especially for the amount of food they give you. Always a good thing! - The hot sauce I got on the side was rather good and probably the best part of my meal Final Comments: While I would consider eating here in-person to see if the delivery really did affect the quality of the food, I will likely not be ordering delivery from here again. Firstly, most people who eat here has never experienced authentic shawarma like I did. Now that that's clear, let me begin. Took them over twenty minutes to come up with three shawarmas *cough* more like wraps man. The seasoning was off, way too much tomato. Tasted like stir fry meat! Also, didn't taste the tahini and garlic sauce (thoom) at all! And, lettuce in shawarmas? To make things worse, the cashier charges me twice for the order and also mixed up the sandwich with a platter first and denies that and then tells me there's no receipt. I ask the manager and she tells the manager that I didn't ask for a receipt. I asked for the receipt because the staff probably don't know what they're doing, which I realized at that point. Found a shawarma place near my college and ever since I moved to Boston my bf and I have been dying to find another good place in the city. This one is SO GOOD. I bought the beef shawarma sandwich/wrap and my bf got the lamb version. Both were good. The beef dissolved in your mouth, and the lamb was more chewy. I don't think I could choose which one is better xD I was also pleasantly surprised that for every sandwich you got a free soda?! That's gotta be the best policy ever. It's not only filling but also not super expensive which, in my books, is ALWAYS a plus. My wife and I were really impressed with the food here today. We both noticed a sign that said it was under new management and something about better food, better service and "Lebanese style." I'm not really sure what that means, but the food was pretty stellar. This was the first time I saw vegetables - tomatoes and onions - sandwiched between lamb shawarma on the spit as it was roasting. I think it's an awesome idea because the shawarma sandwich was delicious - perfect meat, tomatoes, onions, lettuce and sauce. We also had a huge portion of fattoush salad, one falafel on the side and a honey sweet. All in all very good, Alhamdulillah, and we look forward to returning in the future. Oh and it's halal!!!! I've been Jonesin' to get a taste of Halal - esque Manhattan fare for a while now, so I journeyed into Boston Shawarma to attempt to satisfy the craving (Bus Rte # 39ers are in the house tonight. Get at me.). It was a slow weeknight when I asked the owner/cook if the pita is the same as it is in Midtown, in which he replied yes. That was indeed false, the pita wrap here is much thinner, but still held it's own. After a few minutes of reviewing the menu I went with the safe bet (Typical, right? Whatever) with the Lamb Shawarma - lean meat slowly roasted and thinly sliced w/ seasoning. The wrap was pretty good, but a little over salted. He puts a lot of trust to his customers, as you pay after dining in, instead of up front (at least for me and the party already eating). Overall I will be a repeat customer, but it doesn't stack up against The Halal carts. That may not necessarily be a bad thing. One day, we'll meet again. Haven't been here in years, but was in Boston and decided to get both beef and chicken shawarma for friends that I was visiting. I called for about an hour while driving there. The phone line was busy every single time I called. I can't remember when I last heard a busy signal. But I guess they don't have call waiting. Anyway, I ordered 3 chicken and 2 beef shawarma sandwiches which came to $42 I'm Lebanese and I'm sorry, but they were barely edible. The beef "shawarma" was clearly gyro meat. Come on. It was perfectly acceptable gyro, but don't call it shawarma! The chicken was bland and dry. Completely tasteless. After a couple of bites of both sandwiches, we threw our $42 food in the trash can. The four Latin American guys working there were very nice. But maybe an Arab woman would help get their food up to the expectations of a middle eastern palette.
