Meh bland and uninspired Mediterranean food should be bolder zestier tastier the only Good Shawarma Ive had in Boston is at a grocery on Broadway in Revere the ones in Boston seem pedestrian by comparison.

I was happily surprised when I walked in here and found an amazing shawrma joint in Boston! We got here and ordered 2 plates, the chicken and falafel one. Both had amazing flavor. Each came with hummus, rice, a salad and fries! A great spot with great food!

Solid shawarma spot with generous protein. The food was served very quickly so this spot is perfect on the go too. The food is really flavorful too so I do think this is also very worth the price that you pay. Would highly recommend stopping by here to grab a quick meal!

I was in the area and wanted a quick bite before my ride home and came across Boston Shawarma. It s a cute little shawarma place in Newton with a few tables for dine in. The are many Mediterranean food options to choose from. Theres shawarma, kabobs, falafel, grape leaves and more. The food is very filling and the portions are very large yet tasty. Jimmy took care of us and was generous with the portion sizes and served us the food quite fast. Boston Shawarma is definitely a convenient and healthy food option.

When they say meat sandwich, they mean MEAT sandwich here. I don't think I've ever had a bigger daily dose of protein before, so you get your money's worth if that's something you enjoy! Unfortunately it was a bit much for me - I usually prefer something more balanced with veggies. I ordered the lamb meat sandwich to-go on a weekend evening. Although they were a bit busy, the nice staff prepared my food quickly and it even stayed warm during my trek home. The sandwich was fresh and tasty, but as previously mentioned, I wish I ordered something else that had a bit more veggies. The prices have definitely gone up recently, which is disappointing but expected, but I was caught off guard by the additional surcharge for paying by card (around 4% extra), which I didn't see clear signage about.

My husband went to school in Boston & consequently has very good memories associated with this place. He visited it after 4 whole years & it still continues to be his fave food spot in Boston. Theres plenty of indoor seating & the service is very prompt.

This place is disgusting. I don't know how it has good reviews. I ordered the lamb shawarma and it smelled and tasted like dog food. It had the consistency of jello

Great value! I ordered the chicken shawarma plate which was delicious. One order is enough food for two people. I liked the spicy sauce that they included next to the hummus. I also got the baklava which was not too sweet (in a good way) - I feel like there are baklava out there that is just dripping in syrup but this was definitely more nutty. Absolutely a no frills shop. Minimal indoor seating. The staff are efficient. Even on a random weekday lunch there is a steady flow of customers, but I didn't have to wait long for my food. They were even frying new french fries for my box.

This place absolutely delicious. I got the Mix It Dinner Plate. It came with fries, hummus, and salad. They give really large portions. They give free water with a plate or sandwich too. The food was ready really wuic Definitely recommend coming here, especially if you're a Northeastern student.

I was in Boston visiting places I used to frequent years ago near Northeastern University and I came across this spot. If im not mistaken, this restaurant has been here since inwas here back in the mid 90s. I wanted just a taste of lamb but ended up ordering a lamb gyro wrap. It was delicious and worth the price. I could hardly finish the entire thing...but I did, lol. I highly recommend this spot.

We ordered the cheese topokki (soft rice cake, fish cake, vegetable, & mozzarella in Korean spicy sauce) & the beef bulgogi bowl (fried marinated beef, vegetables, steamed rice & side of soup). The cheese topokki was just as good as we remembered - chewy, flavorful, comforting, & a little bit weird. The cheese was poorly distributed, but it was still very tasty. The beef bulgogi bowl was really underwhelming. Firstly, it was very little food. We were promised vegetables, but there were only a few scarce onions & zucchini pieces mixed in. It was also dry. It was devoid of moisture & sauce, so we added some from the fridge at home. The side of soup was a joke. It filled only about 2/3 of the container & looked so sad, we wondered if it was the sauce that we we so desperately needed. Nope, just a meager amount of watered down miso soup. So the conclusion - great topokki, sub-par bulgogi, non-existent soup.

For the food, we got the tuna kimbap, Seoul toppoki, and bulgogi hot pot for two. Everything was SO good. The ingredients were fresh and the food was flavorful (sweet from the bulgogi, savory from the mushrooms, spicy from the toppoki sauce, salty from the tuna, and sour from the pickled vegetables). The price for the portion size was a great value and we ended the night feeling very full and even had to pack up an entire container of the hotpot for two that we didn't finish. Overall, we had a great time and I can't wait to come back again. This might be my new favorite Korean food spot in the Boston area.

I'm so glad Uyghur cuisine has made its way to Boston…read more I was first introduced to it years ago at Silk Road in Cambridge, and I've been hoping more Uyghur restaurants would open ever since. Jahunger truly delivers. The restaurant immediately sets the mood. Candlelight, the scent of incense, traditional instruments on the walls, and pothos plants growing from mounted glass jars all make the space feel warm and inviting. One warning: unless you arrive around 6 p.m. or earlier, expect a wait. (It's popular.) Oh, and the food is worth it. The leek and egg dumplings tasted homemade in the best way: slightly rustic, fresh, and delicious. The hand-pulled noodles are the stars. Every noodle dish we ordered had the perfect chewy texture. My favorite was the Laghman noodles, though the Jahunger noodles were a close second with their rich spices and satisfying heat. The mee fen and stir-fried green beans both packed a respectable kick and leaned a little salty, but not enough to keep me from happily polishing them off. Don't forget the tea! It's beautiful to look at, filled with all sorts of ingredients (Chinese jujubes!), and only lightly sweet, which I appreciated. Then came the showstopping honey cake. The cake itself was fluffy, while the filling had a firmer, almost sticky texture with deep caramelized flavors that reminded me of burnt caramel in the best possible way. Paired with what tasted like coffee ice cream, it was the perfect ending to the meal. Jahunger is one of those restaurants that makes you want to come back before you've even paid the bill. I'm so glad Jahunger made it to Cambridge; the Boston food scene is richer because it's here.

We came in and the restaurant was filled with younger people who were hanging out. To start off we ordered lamb dumplings and scallion pancakes. I was familiar with both of these appetizers and they were the same as anywhere else. To eat, we ordered chicken stew. The waitress told us that one stew was spicy and the other was non spicy. We decided to order the non-spicy one since others were not big fans of spice. When we received the food it was very spicy. It was hard to eat and we did not enjoy it. The waitress came back and thought we wanted the spicy chicken stew which was incorrect. She apologized and wanted to switch it. At this point we were running late so it didn't matter. We just packed it and gave it to our family member who likes spice. This place was okay. I will have to come back here and give it another chance.

Through extensive travel across the U.S. and internationally, I had never come across a Yemeni restaurant before. What made this experience even more special was how authentic it felt from start to finish. Everything, from the food to the atmosphere and even the diverse mix of diners enjoying their meals at tables and on traditional floor seating, made for a truly immersive experience. I ordered a dish built around falafel and rice, something I've eaten countless times at Mediterranean and Middle Eastern restaurants over the years. Yet somehow, Bab Al Yemen transformed familiar ingredients into something entirely their own. The execution was flawless, and the seasoning and flavor profile were unlike any version I've had before. If there's such a thing as an elevated falafel-and-rice dish, this is it. For anyone looking to explore a cuisine that's difficult to find and experience something authentically different, Bab Al Yemen is absolutely worth a visit. Sultan: The lamb was stewed for a long time until incredibly tender and melted in your mouth, with absolutely no gamey taste. Although it's called "sweet lamb", it didn't have a strong sweetness; instead, it had a typical mild, complex flavor of onions, cumin, coriander seeds, and other spices. The Yellow Rice was likely seasoned with turmeric and saffron, making it very flavorful. The basmati rice grains were distinct but not too dry, perfect for mixing with the sauce. The White Garlic Sauce wasn't overpowering; it mainly added a touch of acidity, which, along with the cool, sweet corn, helped to cut through the greasiness. Actually, it was completely different from any other Moroccan lamb stew I've had. It was more like Yemeni Mandi, but with more layers of flavor and a more universally appealing taste. As a fusion dish, how can it not be considered a success? This restaurant offered self-build options, but I was rushing to the World Cup Fan Festival and didn't even have time to look at the menu carefully. The staff quickly recommended dishes and adjusted the ingredients based on my preferences. Excellent service.

It had a flakey crust and interior with spiced beef. Probably my favorite! The bean jelly was ok. The jelly rectangles were a little firmer than I expected and bit spicy but not bad. The laghman noodles were a little overcooked. The restaurant staff were nice to accommodate us and make the Laghman substituted with chicken instead of the usual beef (for our friend with dietary restrictions). The chicken I think was unseasoned because of this because it normally isn't in the laghman.
