Botanic and Luxe combines all my favorite shoppable things into one place: gorgeous healthy plants, local delicate jewelry, pillows, baskets, handcrafted goodies, candles and other scented gifts, wall art, travel and cook books, fine kitchenware. I mean seriously, did someone read my journal of Favorite Things and create this store just for me?!! L-O-V-E! There is no walking around downtown Santa Cruz without stopping by Botanic and Luxe. I have purchased gifts here as well as framed art (with a locally-made wooden frame) that hangs in my home, and recently attended their anniversary event where they had local vendors serve matcha and desserts, and they provided 20% off the entire store, so naturally I went home with another plant baby. Even though the store was PACKED with customers, they asked me if I needed help twice and also spent time giving me plant care instructions! Botanic is a higher-end plant shop, so expect to see some matching "luxury" prices as well. But people don't usually come here to get the best deal; they come to feel a certain way while they peruse a beautiful shop that sources many items locally, to get a certain level of service, and to be ensured a certain quality of product. read more

I absolutely love this cute little spot in Santa Cruz. I have a little tradition that every time I come here I buy a new plant. The day I bought the cutest little mini monstera. They also have a wonderful variety of different artisan crafts and very delightful scented oils. If you want to uplift your mood, come into botanic and lux. Lovely little shop with a muted palette and lots of botanically themed and based things, as you might expect. My favorites were the collections of dried flowers and stems near the front, but they also had jewelry, candles, other plants and pots, baby gifts, sage for smudging, just tons for the nature lover in your life. read more

Cute plant shop! So many wonderful plants that are so vibrant on color and offered other novelty items. I didn't purchase a plant this visit but did get a cute pot. Guidelines for how many guests listed everyone was wearing a mask and just by hearing the staff they are very knowledgeable in teaching customers how to care for certain plants when needed. Stopped by for the first time today and loved it! Very dog friendly and amazing customer service (Courtney was great!)! Bought a bright and cheery plant and a cute speckled pot to put it in. Will def be back! I was greeted right away when I walked in, and I asked if it was cool to bring my dog in (she was in her stroller). They said it was cool and were very friendly. I then wandered around the store a bit. Lots of cute plants of all sizes, pretty pots of all varieties and sizes, and cutesy stuff you'd see in a boutique (like journals, scents, etc.). I gotta admit I was a bit lost looking at the plants. I haven't had a great track record with plants, but the last time I tried to have any I worked 24/7 a few years ago and lived at the office, so figured it was about time to try again since I'm actually here at home now lol. One of the staff members, Courtney, saw me looking a little lost and asked if I needed help. I said I did and asked which plants might be more low maintenance for a novice like me. She helped me pick out a pretty cheery plant and pot. She was super helpful in letting me know what the plant needed, the next time I should water it, and what the prices were for the plant and pot before purchasing. She also complimented my dog, so of course loved that lol. It's been one of those places that I always pass by and think "I should stop there, it looks cute." but then i'm usually on the way to something. Not this time! I actually left my apartment specifically looking to get a plant. Just felt like my apartment could use something to make it a little brighter inside. I am super disappointed because it was my first time shopping at this store about a month and a half ago. The location is good, and the products are really nice. I wasn't expecting top-notch inventory, but I wanted to support my local businesses. So, I purchased three plants. I'm an experienced plant grower (I have proof to back that up) and I know what I'm doing. With these three plants, I followed all the right steps. However, my Monstera Deliciosa has been a complete disappointment. It's not the plant's fault, nor is it my fault. I feel like it's the fault of this so-called plant boutique. I tried calling to find a solution, but to no avail. Overall, it's just very disappointing. I have attached two photos below. One is of the Monstera I purchased from Botanic & Luxe, and the other is a Monstera I bought the same day from Safeway. You can be the judge. I've spent more money trying to save this plant than I actually spent on the plant itself. It's overpriced and of low quality. read more

Every time I visit Santa Cruz with my girlfriend we make a stop at Botanic and Luxe. They have an impressive collection of plants and pots and the staff is super helpful and nice every time we visit. There is usually a candle or diffuser going so it smells divine. Also sometimes they have an event running and they serve champagne and hand out discount cards so keep a look out. This place is kinda hidden from the main downtown but it's worth the walk to check it out. read more

Super adorable plant boutique that smells so good you will feel inside a spa in th woods. The smell of precious woods and fresh leaves of various plants (carefully curared) was a feat for my eyes. My nose got saturated or amazing smells from precious oils for the face or the body and the essential oils to the house are super concentrated. Same with the high end candels. I may not have a green thumb whatsoever, but after checking out this shop, my thumb might be turning a faint shade of green! We discovered Botanic & Luxe while walking over to Abbott Square Market next door just a few days before Christmas, and ended up finding a couple perfect gifts in here (and something for ourselves of course!). From cute little air plants and succulents, to fun tropical home décor, kitchenware, and even jewelry, soy candles, and Māile Organics body products, there's a little bit for everyone in here! We had a chat with one of the owners, Leilani, who told us she grew up in Kaua'i. Well no wonder I love this shop, there's certainly a warm "Aloha" vibe in here, not just because of the tropical and botanical theme, but also because they were so friendly and welcoming. I moved here from Oahu a few years ago, so it's always great to meet fellow islanders here in Santa Cruz and the Bay Area. So stoked we found a locally owned shop that will help us bring a little more of nature and the islands into our home, and one that focuses on natural, beautiful and holistic living, while supporting local artisans and fair trade organizations (which I read on their website). It smells wonderful, there are a million beautiful things to look at, and each gal who works here is extremely knowledgeable and friendly. There's always a variety of unique plants and planters at reasonable prices. Be sure to ask at check out for some care instructions for your new plant! One of the best hidden gems of downtown Santa Cruz! I've been shopping here for the last three years and without fail, I always make a stop here to pick up some indoor plants, candles, and and other gift knick knacks whenever I visit Santa Cruz. Everything is of great quality and reasonably priced. The ladies are always so welcoming and nice without being overly pushy which is great for a relaxed shopping experience. Update - shortly after posting my review I was contacted by the owner Leilani. I must say I was surprised but also it goes to show the level of attention and care to her customers. I really appreciated her response and hope that going forward I can continue to have the same experience I've always had prior to yesterday! Thanks again Leilani Writing this review in hopes that it can be used as a training tool. Went in today August 12th at 5:05pm. I'm used to them closing at 6 and that's what their door says also. As I approach a young lady inside the store (I'm assuming an employee) looks right at me as I try and open the door which was locked. I thought "ok she's gonna come and tell me they are closed and ask me to come by tomorrow" but NO! She instead walks away and closes the door that led to a room with flowers hanging from the ceiling. How terribly rude. I've shopped here before and have always been satisfied until today. Sad that one young lady's actions and lack of customer care can taint my perception of this place. Oh well. Hopefully a manager/owner reads this and let's their employees know to at least engage the customer if they make eye contact with them. read more

One of the my go-to shops for plants and unique gifts. Nice selection of plants that aren't too expensive and are well taken care of. As a plant person myself, I'm glad they wipe the leaves of their plants so it doesn't collect dust and improves the health of the plant itself. The reason for the 4 stars is that they can be very pricey on some of their items, so I always like checking the price. It's a mixed bag sometimes so you always gotta check. This place have the cutest things like planters, decors and all of the trendy plants like Philodendrons, Hoyas and peperomias that I collect and love! I purchased a couple of tropical plants and they were healthy and beautiful. A bit pricey... but it's worth the money as the staff were friendly and helpful. This is a gift store located right behind santa cruz coffee/palomar. It's actually connected to both of those via a breezeway. Parking? Well that's always tricky in Santa Cruz. There is the usual street parking, but it's also located right next to a sizable city owned parking garage. So parking here will not be an issue. This is very carefully curated store, with a pleasing aesthetic. It is thoughtfully laid out and filled with botanical scents via the small samples laid out for your aromatic pleasure. The stock has a fairly broad range of items from coastal chic home decor, small garden (botanical?) items such as potting soil and air plants, stationary, kitchen items (bamboo dishes and cutlery), gift and party items (crackers, party in a box, those color changing fire additives etc). Also of course a good selection of botanical/ayurvedic items. This location focuses on quality over price, thus while you won't find better quality items anywhere in downtown Santa Cruz, the pricing is not bargain bin. Plant heaven! Botanic and Luxe looks like it comes straight from the pages of an interior decorating magazine. It is so pretty, well thought out, and relaxing. They have a wide assortment of plants for sale which are beautiful and well cared for. They also give you tips on caring for your plant. There's also a fun mix of gifts, home goods, art, etc. I do think it's a bit pricey and employees didn't offer me help, but maybe that's because it was busy. read more

This place is great. Such a beautiful selection and the staff is so friendly. Every time I go in they always help me design what I want my plant / succulent arrangement to look like. I bought a bunch of stuff last time and the woman who rang me up was kind enough to help take things out to my car. They have sales pretty frequently and everything is affordable. Their customer service is amazing. I encountered a problem with one of my plants and they were super responsive and helpful on instagram, and then when I came into the shop for a follow up they did everything to make sure I was satisfied.
