I passed it the first time and had to turn around. Several other businesses also occupy parts of the same building - so it's easy to miss. I ordered their Nova Lox Bagel sammie: Lox, cream cheese, red onions, and capers on an Everything Bagel. I wished they offered fresh dill on it. In any case, it was a very tasty Lox & Bagel offering. I grew up going to botta bing so when back in my hometown I knew I had to stop in! As always the service is amazing and the prices are great! My steak was tender and the bagel had a great flavor. I will say the bagel texture left a tad to be desired - not as firm as I prefer but I still enjoyed my sandwich. Good News/Bad News- Stopped in Botta Bing on my way to pick something up in the area 10 minutes before they opened. Got a dozen bagels, reached into the bag and they were all refrigerator cold. When I asked the owner if these were yesterdays bagels she told me they are made in NY and are driven down every night/early morning. The bad news was she wouldn't give me the name of the company who delivers them. Since I live an hour + away I was trying to see if the delivery company dealt with any retail outlets closer to me in the N VA area. And she was adamant about not revealing her source, even though I told her there was no way I would drive 2 1/2 hours round trip for bagels. My bagel was good, not anything special. You'll spend around $10 per person. They refused to accept credit cards, so I had no method to pay. That is my primary source of payment. I had to ask my 20 year old brother to pay for me since he had cash and then paid him back. The man that was working here when I visited was rude not even the slightest bit friendly. Looking for a good place to pull off 95 for breakfast, my partner and I ordered two bagel sandwiches. I got the classic with bacon, egg, and cheese on an everything bagel. He went for the steak and egg on an onion bagel. The service was fast and police, the prices good. My biggest disappointment for bagels is when they are little more than round bread. These bagels at least proved fairly chewy even if they still weren't right. The ingredients that made up the sandwich were a solid four. The biggest problem with this place is that when I asked to use the restroom the couple that owns this place told me their bathroom was closed "due to hygiene reasons for the pandemic." I would be willing to entertain that faulty logic if either of them had been wearing a mask, if they required customers to wear masks, or seemingly taken any steps to create a Covid safe environment besides closing access to the toilets. I'm tired of businesses using the pandemic as an excuse to not provide vital services to their customers. If they would have even just said the bathroom is only for staff that would have been very different. Please stop using the pandemic as a pretense to deny customers basic services. read more
