The bagels are good with a large selection and the workers are really kind and professional. The bathroom and overall appearance of the place is clean and tidy. The bad is the prices are a little high and the music in the dining area is God-awful horrible. They pipe in some classical funeral music and it's extremely annoying and almost will turn your stomach. I think they want to discourage ppl from dining in. I live in Kingstowne and this is my go-to spot for a quick breakfast. Normally, I get a sausage/egg/cheese on an everything bagel but occasionally I get the Ranchero wrap. The Ranchero is huge with 3 eggs, tons of meat protein (bacon/ turkey or pork sausage) and spicy cream cheese. I also travel a lot for work and either pick up a quick breakfast sandwich or swing by to buy some bagels and their in-house cream cheese (which is way better than store bought in my opinion) for my trip. Service has always been fast and friendly. For those dining in- the location has plenty of parking and ample tables and chairs. Many patrons are regulars and the noise is not too high. This has happened several times... they start to close at minimum, 1 hour before closing. Drives me nuts! Here it is 2:25, I just left because they were mopping the floors. They close at 3:00. The process started @2:00 with the moving of all chairs, filling ice into soda dispenser, breaking down soda station so all parts weren't there and then mopping. I told the young man I would be leaving soon, that I had to use the bathroom. He said "ok. I won't mop that side of the seating area." Yet when I came out, he was doing that area. Clean restaurant with nice ambience. Had a toasted sun-dried tomato bagel with scallion cream cheese. Nice, subtle flavors in the bagel and cheese, but the bagel texture was more dense dough than chewy and tender. The bagel was barely toasted and cold--I think whoever is preparing it needs to understand this type of bagel requires more heat to soften and crisp it. Here's a few things I disliked: The customer service was barely mediocre, the prices were high, the portion sizes were small, and the overall taste of the food was "fine" at best. I was so excited to try this place and loved the layout of it too, but i'm so disappointed after dining in. Great place to grab some to go breakfast! Went in on a Saturday morning and even though it was really busy, we were greeted promptly and given suggestions. I'm thinking that coming to Manchester Bagel earlier in the morning would be the best time because our subsequent visits were a little less agreeable. We came in the early afternoon, and we ordered the toasted jalapeno bagel with one with the veg cream cheese spread and one with the scallion cream cheese spread; the bagels were not as I remember being, with its slightly crisp exterior with the slightly chewy interior; instead, it was super chewy and kind of had a day-old taste to them; they are still pretty generous with their shmears, which I appreciated. Too bad, as I thought that we could make this our regular bagel spot in the NoVA area... Service is still friendly! Note that there are 2 lines in the store - you place your order with one of the staff members on the left, and then you go over to the right to pay and pickup your order. Walking into this joint is quite a welcoming experience. It smells nice, it's warm, and it plays a nice selection of music. Their set up is interesting but efficient. You get in one line to place your order and then you get into another line to pay (the cashier will probably already have your order from the other employee). This helps eliminate some of the wait time for the food because while the food is being prepped you're busy paying and it doesn't feel like waiting. I love these magic mind tricks! For the food, I'd say that this is an average breakfast place. They're not doing anything super creative to make them stand out from the crowd and the food they have is good food that I'd get again. I just won't expect much from it other than to hit the spot and fill me up. Overall, a 3.5* experience. What we got: Sausage, egg, and cheese (on challah bagel) - 4* your standard deli sausage, egg, and cheese. Nothing special here. I really liked the challah bagel though and am happy I finally got to try it. 4* for being good and not making me feel like I'm eating grease. Tostini Country Style - 3* I was excited to try this. I was disappointed by the focaccia though. I think it would've been better if the focaccia had been toasted first, and maybe that's something you can ask for. It's a fluffier bread than I expected and as such the bottom was a little soggy by the time I got home (we ordered to go, it might be better as an in-house eat). Neither bagel came toasted, the lox bagel had onion and the sausage and egg bagel was missing the egg. I don't think my order was particularly complicated and the place was not busy. Long Story Short....Not a bad spot and decent food but I've just been unlucky a couple times. I've had a few bad experiences here but I gave them another shot and it unfortunately confirmed my original beliefs. I paid 9 dollars for a bagel sandwich and when I received it the sandwich was cold to the touch and the cheese was solid and not melted. Just seemed like the sandwich was rushed after the staff forgot about me and I had to ask about the status of my bagel sandwich after almost 20 minutes of waiting. That leads to the food not being prepared with care or concern.  I ordered a croissant with bacon egg cheese (requested added mustard that was not added) and of course a hash brown to go with. Not from this area, I knew I was in the right place for taking a moment out of my busy day to get great food for breakfast. Manchester bagel is open all day for breakfast and lunch. They always have fresh brewed coffee and it's all made in front of you. Getting a platter that includes a medium coffee and hashbrowns, I took a chance on saying, "so what do you like?" I knew I was talking to the owner and said get the challah bagel, steak and cheese, all the way with lettuce and tomato and mayo. I tasted a sample and it was light and flavorful. Was famished so we stopped by Manchester Bagel for a quick breakfast. I ordered the philly cheesesteak breakfast sandwich on an Asiago bagel. This particular bagel was a 50 cent upcharge. Although the bagels are made fresh every morning, I wasnt impressed with the toppings. I'm used to the Asiago bagel at Panera where the top half is covered in a thick cheesy crust. The asiago bagel at Manchester Bagel tasted more like a plain bagel. I read the same thing about their Everything Bagel, that it is lacking on the toppings so the bagel itself isnt particularly flavorful. The philly cheesesteak filling was good although I wish there were peppers too and not just onions. Also wish I had a choice of cheese rather than the American cheese. Fast service and kind staff.
