Adrian's service in the Barrel Room was outstanding. He was knowledgeable and humorous with every tasting. When he mentioned the pool, our group of 4 was curious. We ventured outside, found the expansive patio, and sat down for a last glass of wine. When approached by Char, we were immediately made to feel like we were intruding as non-members onto an otherwise empty patio. The "just so you know" lecture we received was both demeaning and condescending. Clearly, we were not welcome, so we left. Bummer because the location is new and beautiful. I would imagine that, at this point, they would want to grow their memberships, but it's hard to do that when customers are not treated well. We have no plans to return. read more

The meats, cheeses (smoked gouda & sage cheese were delish), bread, olives, almonds, & sauces (Dijon mustard & a sweet jam) were amazing. Would highly recommend ordering this with your wines!!! Wines: So you can either choose between purchasing wine by the glass, bottle, OR wine flight. With the wine flights you get 4 glasses with tasting portions for the wines of your choice. I highly recommend doing the flights first and then purchasing a bottle because they have such a good variety of wines! For myself, I loved their sweet wines (like the Late Harvest, which honestly was the perfect amount of sweetness) & Aglianco ( I might have misspelled that, so sorry) red wine (very dry). I was reading the reviews and I swear some of you guys have been so privileged that you've never had to experience stuff like this. 1. You guys clearly don't understand how much harder it has been for businesses to re-open after COVID. It requires staff, which ALL business are having difficult finding. If you actually take the time to observe the staff, you'll see that their running around doing their best to cover as many bases as they can WHILE trying to keep 10/10 customer service. 2. The staff, just like the rest of us are human too. Mistakes are going to be made. And when they have people constantly complaining to them about small little things from different tables, they're going to get stressed. And when they get stressed, they're going to sound stressed, again, just like the rest of us. So if your server sounds a bit like they're stressed, just encourage them & tell them they're doing a great job. Especially in this heat. Be grateful that the winery is even staffed so that you could enjoy a place like that. Until then, if you can't mind your manners and overlook some things, then don't be going out. Loved our wine and charcuterie experience!!! Definitely different from most wineries. Reservation recommended. They set you up in a separate room and prepare an incredible charcuterie board for each person. Well worth the price!! A bit different from most, they choose which wines they are serving you and it's the same for both people. They then let you know which meats go best with it from your platter. Super fun and cool. The service was mediocre. The food was mediocre . The atmosphere and vibes were not winery vibes at all . The customer service needs to be addressed . Hospitality needs to be taught . And on top of it I came in with a party of 15 people and we couldn't split our checks . We had to ask for refills the whole time . Some of our drinks that we ordered got forgotten. We had to remind the server . I won't be back . There are way better wineries in the area . But the older man out front was super nice and super cool . Keep him ! read more

While, the other guests are enjoyable to schmooze with. I did not enjoy the food at all. The flatbread pizza was not crunchy. It was way too moist and droopy. Chicken dish was not my favorite either. Gorgeous winery with stunning views and great wines. We did a tasting in the barrel room which was kept super cool. My favorite wines were the Barbera and the Spumante Rose. The tastings are preselected fyi. The atmosphere of the winery is wonderful with various seating options. The pool area offers a variety of beer and cocktails made very well. The grounds are immaculate I was impressed how helpful every single staff member was and kind offering great service. I may consider membership @ Bottaia in the future. read more

Let me start off by saying WOW! Decided to stop by and take our chances without having a reservation and are SO GLAD we did! Shar was so sweet and accommodating. She helped us to a beautiful, shaded, poolside table and seemed glad to do so. She was so welcoming and warm, what a gem she is! She started us off on a good foot and really helped set the tone. Throughout the entire experience the service was great and the vibe was incredible. My friend and I shared a Caesar salad & a Hummus plate. I am a Caesar snob and this salad is a MUST try. The dressing had a traditional taste with a twist about it that was unmistakably fresh... something about the flavor was absolutely addictive. The hummus as well was so FREAKIN GOOD! To drink we had hand crafted cocktails and let me tell you.... the Veneto - UNREAL! Fresh blueberries, mint, acai vodka, lemon... need I go on? We thought we would try a couple different cocktails but had this one and we sold! The Veneto ended up being the second (and third) round choice! If you get the opportunity, this place in incredible. I only ordered a glass of Montepulciano, which was full bodied and smooth on the plate. I was looking forward to a big bold red and that style did not disappoint... It is their tacky attempt to be hip, young and exclusive, as a previous Yelper has mentioned, that was disappointing and, ironically, borderline classist IMO. I've lived in St. Helena, Napa Valley for three years and I've never had a wine experience more off-putting than that on "The Deck". It was over 100 degrees this weekend, and regardless whether you're a wine club member or not, your guests should have respite from the heat. There was ample of vacant space indoors and under the misters, but we were denied these basic accommodations, bc they "were reserved for wine members only". There are better wineries in the area that are beautifully and functionally designed providing indoor tasting or tables under misting fans for members and non-members alike (WIENS FAMILY is an exceptional example). Until they improve their guest experience, I will not be returning or recommending this winery to anyone. read more

I've been enjoying being part of their Vinters select club. I always have excellent service in the tasting rooms. LOVED their wine lab experience. I'm just disappointed with their pool cafe service. Our waitress is nice, but the food service is sooooooo slow. Had to reschedule our tasting time! Edit: our waitress more than made up for the long wait for the food, which was excellent. My friend had their chicken panini with apple and Brie... we all had some and loved it. They have yum sweet potato fries, and I love the veggie burger. read more

My girlfriends and I had a fantastic time at Bottaia last Sunday! Not only was the view and surroundings amazing , but our server, Carrie, was one of the highlights of the day. She was very personable and attentive the whole time and very sincere and knowledgable with the wines. She even explained how to do tastings and what to look for while enjoying. The cannolis were great and the charcuterie board was beyond fabulous (we loved the purple cheese). We will definitely be back again. The service here is really nice and friendly. The 2 stars are just for that. The wine is mediocre and if we were to purchase a bottle, we commented they were overpriced. This review is only for the pool, not the winery itself. I've been twice now...both times we did a full day and rented the cabine. It's post covid times so I'm all about supporting the service industry. So please take this review as a request and not a complaint. I was lucky to have the same waitress both times and was pleasantly surprised when she remembered me. She was kind and worked really hard. She had a large group of thankless moms gone wild who kept saying there drinks were taking too long and she never got short with them all. She stayed professional and pushed on. It would be great especially on the weekends to have more servers or so the buddy system to help turn drinks and clear the too small tables. Towel service is short...we didn't get towels on our first trip and I had to take them off another chair. And when I asked for towels on our second trip it took awhile. As for the the cabine's...it's nice to have a place to shower and change at the end of the day especially before the drive in traffic back to Orange County...but they are so hot and once again no towels to clean up with. The fans are on a timer and barely blow even when they come on. Trying to bathe 2 kids and yourself in there was like working out in a sauna. Having a DJ on the weekend would be awesome just for the entertainment value. And price wise...I'd say it's a lil expensive for what you get. read more

This was my first time at this winery/pool. And I have to say it's absolutely wonderful. The vibe, the music, the view, the relaxation at the pool was exactly what was needed for the weekend... I visited Bottaia this past weekend with a group of girlfriends, excited to have a fun, carefree Saturday but things quickly took a hard left turn during our experience. After our tasting we gathered our belongings and began to make our exit to the next establishment. As I walked out of the front of the building, I noticed that another group of our party was outside the front of the building, visibly upset. I saw a security guard near them and a woman, who I quickly came to learn was the manager of Bottaia, Shar. She was holding her phone in a manner that suggested that she was recording my friends. I very calmly approached her to ask what had transpired -- which she should have on video, as again she was recording us. She very rudely told me that she was no longer discussing the matter, she had called the police, and that myself and the rest of our group -- who was inside unaware of what had transpired -- were associated with "them" and therefore needed to leave the establishment on our own or the police would remove us. I explained to her that I was genuinely confused, had been inside and unaware of what had occurred and would like to know why were being asked to leave. She again refused, rudely and told us we needed to leave the premises immediately. While this was happening, I simultaneously learned from my friends that a simple misunderstanding had occurred which was then escalated by Shar's actions. I have never in my 30+ years of life, been told that I was having the police called on me or any of my friends. We are a group of educated, professional black women. Given the numerous racial injustices and police brutality incidences in today's society, the action or even threat of calling the police on people of color is very triggering and traumatizing, especially when we have done nothing to warrant such behavior or action. Every single one of us was and is still horrified and appalled by how we were treated. I will never step foot back here again. I encourage Bottaia to have their staff participate in racial equity and injustice training and until then recommend all people of color avoid this establishment. read more

I am a bit of a wine snob so when my husband suggested we go wine tasting in Temecula, I think I snorted. We've been to Napa, Sonoma and Paso Robles and love wine tasting in all those areas but my experience with Temecula wines has been underwhelming. Eventually, he convinced me. The first day, we visited South Coast and Callaway and there was not a single wine that I truly liked. On day two, our last visit was Bottaia. What a difference! The restaurant and patio is modern and beautiful - overlooking the vineyard. The tasting room was beautiful and we could sit at tables instead of standing at the bar. Bernadette was our hostess and she did a terrific job. She was friendly and knowledgeable. She handled a room full of people gracefully and still made us feel special. The wine as surprisingly good. They make Italian varietals and do and excellent job. We were so impressed that we joined the wine club. Two weeks later, we were back for our free wine club member classes. Our server, Carrie, was friendly and generous. She made the experience a lot of fun. Bernadette stopped by and said hello. This place combines good wine with a friendly, warm, non-snobby atmosphere. If you've written off Temecula wine, give Bottaia a try. read more

This is one of the newer winery's in Temecula and is geared towards a upper end clientele. They have a beautiful winery building and another building with a swimming with lockers that you can rent. The wines are nice but the prices of tasting and pool usage are high. They are still figuring out their policies ( as I said they are new) and I hope they review their pricing. So. My review of the POOL and winery. COME to Bottaia. For sure. ENJOY the wine. ENJOY the pool. ENJOY the wonderful service. HOWEVER---- CALL ahead of time if you plan on EATING. Make sure the kitchen is open. Because the "food truck" providing sustenance right now, SUCKS. Really sucks. Limp, not warm fries. Tasteless fish. Burger RAW in the middle. So disappointing. Sent the burger back. FIFTY-NINE minutes later, my husband is presented with a BURNT burger. Ridiculous. Bottaia staff was incredible and so apologetic. Not at all their fault, but I am starving now, and headed elsewhere to eat. Bottom line: eat before you go or wait till the kitchen's back up and running! read more

In response to the managers comment You paint a vulgar and inaccurate picture of what took place. No one was asking for you to break the law. When asked to adhere to the rules we accommodated your request. Your statements about erotic gestures and crossing the lines of decency escalate an otherwise subjective matter. As for the baby sitting in the chair at the bar, when your bartender advised we could not have the baby there, we again accommodated your request. The last straw for us was the lack of common business management sense. Your manager chose a adversarial approach where she could gone around the bar to speak with us instead of whistling. We were never asked to leave, we left on our own accord. I recommend you find better management with more experience in dealing with the public. We pay your bills, you don't pay ours. We do not plan on attending your venue agian and will make sure to share our experience with many more. Finally your response is appalling, as we were hoping for an apology or least an admittance that your response to our group was strong and did not fit the occasion. read more

Secondly, a tasting costs $26 per person. Insane. Again...this is Temecula, not Napa. And their random pool makes no sense. Costs $30 for a lounge chair and it's not even a hotel. Random. I cannot say enough good things about this winery. Sunday was my first time going here though I've been to probably over a dozen Temecula wineries. My boyfriend and I loved it. Everyone was incredibly friendly! We did a tasting in the barrel room. It was such a cool room (decoratively and literally - bring a sweater!). We each did a tasting which included 5 samples each of wine. Our bartender - Bernadette - was the nicest, most bubbly person. When we mentioned that we had never been to Bottaia before, she took us on a quick little tour! She showed us the members only deck, the guest deck, an aging room (I think), and the wine experience where you can mix and create your own wine. She explained each of the tastings we tried in simple terms. The wines were excellent. I'm not usually a red drinker, but some of the reds they have here are way too good to pass up. We ended up joining the wine club, which I highly recommend, and buying 4 bottles before we left. It was a truly wonderful experience and we already can't wait to go back. read more
