What a great find on my most recent trip to the Northwest. I can't speak for the wine yet, but this is the place for craft beer lovers in Spokane. They hit the nail on the head with a great bottle and tap selection, especially local, that's accompanied with friendly, helpful service. I wanted to take my brother-in-law to some place that didn't have your same old, same old beer selection because I wanted to introduce him to the world of barrel-aged beers. Bottles had just what I was looking for with aged stouts from Fremont and Bourbon County. Needless to say my brother-in-law has joined the dark side of beer and won't go back. If you don't want to take your bottle to go, you can select a brew from one of the 20+ taps, which includes some solid selections from the aforementioned breweries, and drink it out back in the heated tent. The bottles are organized by style in each cooler which cuts significantly into your search times. The friendly staff was more than willing to answer any questions and you could see the knowledge and pride they had in their beer and wine stock. The only genre they're missing is the growing Berliner Weiss/sour/slushy/cobbler group which I think could help bridge the gap between wine and beer drinkers. After dropping 3 bills on two trips and drinking some of the beers at home, I was no doubt impressed and will probably make Bottles my first stop every time I come into town. read more

I've been to pretty much every tap house and brewery in the area multiple times over and can say without hesitation that Bottles is the best. Best friendly bartenders, freshest craft beer on tap, good group of locals, and on and on. I really enjoy how they always have sports on TV, specifically a lot of golf. They always seem to be first to get the newest beer releases in cans. I don't know what else to say except if you had a bad experience here it's probably because you are a little too sensi-poo. read more

I've been to pretty much every tap house and brewery in the area multiples times over and have always had a great friendly/inviting experience everytime. Which makes this all the more surprising for me. This is technically my second visit to Bottles, the first was a quick take out and Louis was so awesome, super friendly and helpful. Tonight was quite literally the total opposite. From the moment we got there to the second we left, it felt so uncomfortable and weird. I will say all of our interactions were with a 40-50 looking year old woman with glasses and brown hair. I waited patiently at the bar while she served others, when she approached me I asked if I could purchase a flight of beers. She didn't say a word, just stood there and shook her head which felt like forever. Am I not worth conversing with? Just tell me you don't have flights, I will understand. I then ask for a couple half pours(schooners) which she again tells me they don't, words finally, but they have 12oz pours, that will do just fine. While I was in the restroom, she felt the need to card my 35yo girlfriend, again totally fine, but why not card ANY of the other 12 women in the establishment? After finishing the first round, she amazingly asked me if we would like anything else. Finally a somewhat normal encounter, I politely say I will probably just grab something from the cooler. Then she feels the need to say "okay but don't open it". Really? Why not go all the way and tell me I can't go and pour my own tap either? Common sense must elude her or the common clientele she deals with to have to tell me such a thing. I was done after that, got a few cans(great selection btw) to go. I'd rather enjoy a beer in a friendlier environment anyways. Probably will not be frequenting this venue again and don't recommend anyone else either unless getting some cans to-go. read more

Very rude staff. Almost as if I was an inconvenience. Left money on table for 2 beers - less than $10 total for the beers. Left through side gate and was shouted at from bartender "are you going to pay for these beers?!?" Mind you an employee on her break saw and heard me say I was leaving money for my drinks. This could be a great place were it not for the terrible service of the bar tender and a complete bait and switch. I tried to buy two bottles marked at $9.99 and when I went to purchase, I was told they were in fact $17.99. After I mentioned that they could not do that (legally), I was told that people make mistakes. Nothing was offered, the price was not reduced and I did not purchase the bottles. Surely this is not the kind of service one would expect at a local wine shop with so much potential. read more

Fun, modern neighborhood watering hole! We love that this place is walking distance from our house. Great selection of beer on tap, as well as a fun selection of cans and bottles. Extensive wine selection. They've recently added food (appetizers) to their menu and EVERYTHING we've tried is fresh and delicious! I recommend the shrimp tacos, chips and salsa and the grilled cheese. This is the perfect place to stop in, have a drink, a bite to eat and socialize! Also, a great place to try some new beer or wine. Bonus: During the summer on Wednesday from 3-7 the Millwood farmers market takes place just a block away. My husband and I were in town from Seattle visiting family and popped in to kill some time. We were greeted at the door by two of the owners, Jenn & Josh, where they offered us to join the tasting of their wine of the month, which I was happy to do being that I prefer wine over beer. When my husband said he wasn't much of a wine guy Josh took him to their beer & cider tasting room. Before we knew it we had been at the shop for nearly an hour purchasing a growler of beer and several bottles of wine. We found Jenn & Josh to be very knowledgeable and personable, and the shop prices to be competitive. We'll definitely return when we're back in town. read more
