They have taken a lot of shit from me in the past year or so and they haven't given me any shit back for it, so I appreciate that.... Kind of amazingly, this is the only diaper service for the entire Chicagoland area, from southern Wisconsin, through Chicago, and all the way to the far south side down into the 100s. They do what they do well. Really well. For the first eight months or so of babydom, I paid them about $16 a week and they provided me with soft and super clean cloth diapers and they took the nasty ones away, so I didn't ever even have to see them - except of course when I took them off of his wee bootie. Triple washed and very timely - completely dependable. The only small pain in the butt - only one person (I'm assuming the owner) answering the phones usually, so you have to play phone tag with her sometimes. A couple times we missed our diaper delivery from our own new-parent-sleepy-headed-forgetfulness - like we just plain forgot to pay or something, but totally not their fault. This service made the first month with baby boo boo soo much easier and - a super bonus - no, none, nada, zip, zilch, ZERO - diaper rashes throughout baby's whole first year of life, so I am forever sold on the power of cloth. The cost was actually WAY cheaper and easier than the disposables I mostly use now. And it's a mom owned business. I would rush to re-up my service again if I was having another baby and I recommend it - I recommend it a lot. read more

We used Bottoms Up starting when our son was about a month old to when he was 13 months old. You can pick how many diapers you want, and it's priced accordingly. For ex. we were at 60 large diapers a week for $16.45, so it's very competitive with disposables. You don't have to rinse the diapers before returning, which is gross for them but great for you. They come in small or large thin or large regular sizes. Deliveries happen overnight (my husband would always tell my son that the diaper fairy had left him a present in the morning) and 99.99% without a hitch (once a new driver missed us, but diapers were delivered about two days later.) They just leave them by the front door, or wherever you indicate. We bought a house and will now wash our own diapers (yay?) to save money. But I really could not have been more pleased with Bottoms Up. Yeah, they're the only gig in town and a small business, so it's not like they have a 24/7 hotline. But the owner is nice, responsive and takes good care of her customers. I'm surprised there aren't more reviews. At least in our old neighborhood, you could easily spot the tell tale yellow bags on front porches on pick up night. If you want to go cloth, are too busy to wash your own or live in a complex with shared laundry facilities and don't want to gross out your neighbors, this is a great solution for you. read more

They are very reasonable~ you'll spend the same on disposales. What I like is the ease of not having to rinse out toddler poos. Which are notorious in their noxious stench. You just throw it all in the big yellow bag! I've accidentally also sent covers, and they called me to tell me before I even noticed it was gone. :) They're a mom and pop operation so sometimes you'll have to wait for someone to call you back but someone always does. :) read more

Ok, so I'm still on the fence about if I'm keeping the cloth diaper service or not, but that's based on how awesome of a mom I'm willing to be once my little doll is in daycare. That being said, Bottoms Up is amazing. For being kinda "mom n pop" they are a well-oiled machine. The woman I spoke with a few times (I didn't get her name, I was in the last days of pregnancy, first days of motherhood and a true idiot...) was so helpful and clearly had dealt with a lot of idiot parents like myself in the past. The cost is based on the number of diapers you'd like per week, and if you're willing to be on the ball about changing your babe, it's cheaper than disposable. Like cheaper than Costco disposable. If you're not willing to change your baby every two hours (or 15 minutes after you just changed her if she pees again) then it can get a lil costly. These cloth diapers are just that, cloth. So when your baby is wet, she knows it. That's the whole point. My baby has taken a few four hour naps in a fifteen pound soaking wet cloth diaper, so she may be just a gross kid, who knows? But if you're a very green person, into saving money, maybe a stay-at-home mom, and want to go the cloth route but don't want to launder the diapers, this is your place. The deliveries come every Sunday night/Monday morning and they pick up the dirties. You do not rinse the soiled nappies. Let me repeat: YOU DO NOT RINSE THE SOILED NAPPIES. How sweet is that? I used Bottoms Up with my 1st baby. This was the only service I found in Chicago at the time. Their website is crammed with information, and is obsolete and not the easiest to navigate, but all in all their service was ok until I ended the service. I was accused of having kept/stolen/lost a number of diapers for which I was expected to pay. During the time I received the service in three occasions I received less diapers than agreed upon. I contacted them and was told "dont worry about it, probably someone made a mistake counting on our end", then they tell me I had lost diapers?? Now with my second baby, I was so happy to find CLEAN GREEN NAPPY SERVICE. What a joy! Not only are their fees cheaper, but their service is comparable to Bottoms Up (they do all the cleaning for you, weekly pickup/delivery, you decide the number of diapers, etc.), but what really sets them apart is their outstanding customer service. Super approachable, fast replies, automatic monthly debit of your credit card (with a discount too!), and they even send an orange scented pail freshener with your diapers :) Bottoms Up charges an additional fee ($19?) for receiving diapers a week before the baby is due. It never made sense to me, and I see I was right because Clean Green Nappy does not have this ghost fee. Coincidentally and very randomly I found out a couple of weeks ago that the practice of making up lost diapers is not unusual for Bottoms Up. They have an account with a daycare center in Chicago and recently they have started charging them 100 lost diapers per month! This confirmed my decision not to do or recommend business with Bottoms Up. The service is acceptable if you don't know any better. read more

Right now, they're the only diaper delivery service in the area, and I'd rather do diaper delivery than use cloth and spend all my free time doing laundry, and certainly I prefer cloth to disposables. The price is reasonable, and the few times we've called them with an issue they've gotten back to us quickly and resolved our complaint. However, every so often we just get a week of terrible, thin diapers. Usually, we'll be back to decent (thick and absorbent) diapers the week after, so we spend the week double-diapering, whining a little, and using some of our emergency disposable stash. I know they reuse/recycle older diapers, but I just wish they did it sooner. Also, not a fan of their website. It's not well-organized and it doesn't look very professional. read more

There are so many reasons to love Bottoms Up and really any diaper service (each big city seems to have at least one!). First, no trips to the grocery to buy diapers since they deliver clean diapers to your front door weekly and take away the stinky ones. Second, no yuck diapers in the landfills. Cloth is much better for baby's bottoms as well! read more

I think it is actually cheaper than disposable diapers. They seem to be a good company. Communication is a little off though.

Love Bottoms Up! We first used the service 16 years ago when we lived in the city. Not one diaper rash while baby #1 was on cloth diapers. Blessed with another little one 14 years later, we lived in southeast Aurora and thrilled that we were still (although just barely) in Bottoms Up delivery boundaries. We've been using Bottoms Up for two years now. Again, not one diaper rash for baby #2. I've always worked FT and barely have time to do "regular" laundry, let alone wash diapers. Having the option of a diaper service is heaven-sent. The delivery is always on time, even in snow storms. Customer service is excellent and the owner will work with you to figure out the right number of diapers, leaving town for a week, etc. You cannot beat the value, especially when you consider the benefits for your baby and the environment. read more

I've used this service for many months with both of my children 2010 and 2014. They are terrific. Never has an issue with the quality of the diapers especially with my most recent child. The staff is amazing, and respond immediately to any questions or concerns you may have. My wife and I started with Bottoms Up for the birth of our first daughter. After 6 weeks, we could not be more pleased. The diapers are delivered soft and clean every Sunday evening, and the used ones taken away. It's that easy. It's also very cost-effective. We receive 80 diapers per week for about $18, which by my reckoning is far less expensive than disposables. The diapers are very easy to get on and off the baby. There's a cloth diaper that wraps around her bottom, which is layered into a plastic diaper cover that holds it in place with velcro straps. An elegant solution to an abiding problem. Honestly, as a new parent, I'm convinced this is the best deal in town: You get really nice diapers delivered to you for a price far cheaper than disposables; you never need to run to the convenience store at 11:30pm on a Tuesday; you don't end up committing an environmental atrocity in the local landfill. Best of all, our little girl clearly prefers the cloth diapers over her occasional Pampers. We strongly recommend this service. read more
