A recent Elite Event gave me a chance to enjoy most of Natalie's devine chocolates. But some of us wanted to try her high tea. So on a chilly Saturday afternoon we made reservations for High Tea. Each of us received our own teapot with our choice of tea. There are three categories- herbals ( caffeine free), green (medium caffeine) and black (fully caffeinated). I learned something new. After each pot steeped, we then poured into our cup through individual strainers. Our treat tower had the following bites for everyone. Sandwiches- prosciutto and apple, cucumber, pastrami, and chickpea with tahini sauce. All delicious and served on crust less bread. Just like the Queen likes. The next layer was raspberry scones with clotted cream, lemon curd, and grapefruit marmalade. I loved the curd with the raspberry the best. Finishing touches were a buttery shortbread biscuit, chocolate filled pastry, a dark chocolate dipped strawberry, and a strawberry cheesecake bonbon. Natalie did a fabulous job on all of her house made goodies. You have two hours to enjoy your treats and friends. The cost is $45 a person. I also took home the Chocolate X3. She was out during the event, I came too late. OK. This dessert is true decadent heaven. A crisp chocolate cookie base, with a fluffy chocolate mousse, blanketed by a dark chocolate ganache. How is that not a chocolate lover's dream. $9.50. So between High Tea, the dessert case and the bonbons- can I highly recommend Bouchée for your chocolate needs. I really recommend going in early in the day, late afternoon several of my new favorites were already out. What a fun treat yourself high tea service! I cannot recommend the afternoon tea highly enough- proper setting with the cutest pots and teacups accompanied by elaborate, adorable strainers and milk cup. The tea itself is refined and delicious, we tried the holy detox and love teas which are both herbal and incredibly delicious! I really loved that you could taste the star flavors like rose and turmeric and lavender without it overpowering the entire tea, it was fun to try bold and different flavors! You can't go wrong with flavor selection because all the teas are such high quality. The delicate finger sandwiches were scrumptious. I particularly enjoyed the eggplant one and the meat and cheese one. I know white bread is the classic look, but would also recommend throwing in a dark rye or hearty grain bread into the mix! The only thing I didn't enjoy on the tiered trays was the orange jam it was a bit bitter with an odd aftertaste! For the desserts on top- the highlights were the choux pastry creme puff and the dulce de leche type caramel candy heart! Everything was delicious and I was full for most of the day!! My recommendation is to not drink too much caffeinated tea because it gets really strong! Make sure to have a good mix of non caffeinated herbals w your caffeinated options! I originally stopped by for the Yelp event and saw that they did high tea. I knew the wife and I had to go. We were a party of the and the table was already set for us when we arrived. They have the most adorable tea ware! We each got our own pot of tea and a tower of fantastic tea treats. All of their spread and Smallville were house made, and they ended the tea worth one of their amazing bonbons. We all had an amazing time trying all of the delicious food and chatting over tea. If you have not attended a high tea at Bouchée Confections, you are missing a fun experience! I was not sure what to expect but I'm always on the lookout for unique things to do. This experience did not disappoint! The shop is cute and cozy, and all the tables had little vases of fresh flowers and the most adorable mismatched, delicate china. Our table had 4 of us and none of our cups or saucers matched and it only added to the charm. There is a menu with the tea selections. There were a few caffeine free options, some green tea options, and black tea options. I went for the Love Tea organic blend which had notes of orange, lemon, sage, rose hip, and hibiscus. My tea came out in an adorable china teapot that again didn't match anything. It was lovely just sipping on our tea, looking out the window at the chilly afternoon, and doing some gossiping about the royal family. After a bit, a three-tiered plate was placed on our table. The food looked wonderful! We had finger sandwiches, scones, and homemade sweet treats. The food was delicious! We had a great time and thoroughly enjoyed our high tea! Price : High at $45 for 4 small pieces of petit sandwich, scone, and 4 mini bite treats. Could have done brunch at Perenn or museum or Claio and spent less with amazing food and dishes. Ambiance - beautiful dishes, nice music, would've preferred nice table cloths to paper. Perhaps cloth napkins. ? It's a classy experience right? Visit Claio and you'll see what I mean. Service: We were not received with love or gratitude. Our server had all opportunities to make us feel special and she wasn't bad she just could've created a better relationship and her service and the other gal up front made me feel like they wanted to sell us other things in the shop and she rushed us due to the next seating. We spent around $180 for all of us so I expect to feel a little special. She did take a nice picture but we didn't even get a hearty thank you. This was a place that a friend kept INSISTING was soooo good and I absolutely needed to go to to try. Earlier in the week was my first time visiting and the timing was just perfect. During this visit I got to try the tiramisu which was absolutely delicious. My friend got a citrus based chocolate pastry (pictured) and that was also very delicious. We had the opportunity to have a conversation with the owner, Natalie, and she's not only super nice and great to talk to but radiates the passion in her craft. All other pastries have so much attention to detail that the time, effort, attention and care is noticeable. During this visit we got to learn a bit about her high tea/tea time seatings. The menu changes every month and we were in luck as she had an opening for the weekend. Prior to going, I did not now what to expect but I was looking forward to it. The high tea/tea time is so cute! This is absolutely perfect for anyone that wants to dress cute, have good food and enjoy the moment. I mean, that set up is just the cutest and a list of all the tea options are provided. Anyways, the food was absolutely delicious! Four different types of finger food sandwiches were served and each was different and delicious. The scones served were so soft and paired so well with all the provided spreads. The chocolate covered strawberry was delicious and dusted with gold. A little Easter bunny chocolate for Easter was also provided and so delicious! The extra mini carrot cake was so soft and (sorry in advance) moist. We celebrated Mother's Day tonight with dinner, but the desserts at the restaurant didn't quite meet our expectations. So, we searched for the best desserts in Reno, Nevada, and discovered this amazing place. It truly lives up to its rave reviews! I cannot express in enough words just how lovely Bouchée Confections is, particularly their High Tea Service experience. I have had the absolute pleasure to dine here twice. The most recent time was Mother's Day weekend. My husband and I treated my Mother in Law to the High Tea lunch that is offered every other Saturday. I reserved the date several weeks in advance which is highly recommended. The first time my husband and I came here we loved it, but the second time only confirmed my admiration. The assortments are delectable. Every savory bite to every sweet bite was perfection. My favorites were the finger sandwiches and spinach/feta/manchego open face sandwiches. I could easily eat those every day! I wish they were available for purchase because I am addicted. The first time we went I believe the open face sandwiches were made with some brussel sprouts instead of spinach and they tasted pretty identical each time. The scones are delicious and moist just enough. I've had scones that are dry and these are not. These were strawberry scones and were so good that they didn't need the various homemade jams and clotted cream that went with, but those were lovely as well. Rounding out the tiers were truffles, key lime bites, cream puffs and chocolate covered strawberries. I am drooling just thinking about them. Now, the tea! Each person has a choice of bottomless tea served with cream and sugar. I chose Lavender Chamomile, my husband Blood Orange and MIL Love Tea. The great thing is you each have a teapot and can try each other's tea. I don't know how much very young children would enjoy it here as there isn't a special children's menu and I'd be weary with all the delicate China breaking. I do think that a well behaved child around 8 and above might think it's fun, otherwise it's best to keep the kiddos at home. It's small inside and just large enough for the reserved seating. The shop is open to patrons who wish to buy bon bons and all the delicious desserts in the cold case. Every treat looks almost too good to eat as they look incredibly perfect. Honestly I find myself wanting to come here often but to have such an experience is a treat in itself. I'd love to bring my friends and have already looked into reserving when my next visit can be. I'm spoiled that this place is so close to my home. Reno doesn't have many places to have High Tea Service, so it's a unique place in that aspect. I hope the word gets out more for B.C. but at the same time I don't want it to be harder to make a reservation - haha! I don't know how I missed this place before! I randomly came across it after visiting coffee and comics next door. I learned about their high tea, offered once a month, and immediately booked a reservation. There's not many places in town that offer high tea. Absolutely worth the price. Small shop, so nice and intimate, good for chatting over tea. The sandwiches were good, but the highlights were definitely the tea and baked goods. The cherry vanilla scones came with fresh clotted cream, cherry and lemon curd. The shortcake was crisp and soft inside, while the chocolates were a beautiful blend, not too sweet. Not only does Bouchée make a gorgeous and elegant selection of unique truffles and chocolates, meticulously crafted by hand. But they also offer a high tea service the the FIRST AND THIRD SATURDAY of Every Month at 11:00am, 1:30pm, or 4:00pm. We had the pleasure of getting into their April high tea service, which was held in their quaint little shop room with 6 total tables of guests ranging from 2-6 people. Although the space is small, it didn't feel cramped, although the table got a little crowded once we got all of our goodies delivered. They offer several different types of tea organized by caffeination level and you get an entire pot per person with unlimited refills. The selections for this month offered a good range of finger sandwiches (the pastrami was my favorite) a fresh scone which was light and fluffy with a nice crunchy outside, homemade spreads, and some small baked good and chocolate of course. It was a lot of food for the two of us and we left feeling very full and satisfied. They even accommodate allergies and dietary restrictions when notified ahead of the reservation arrival! All of this was offered at around $50/person with tax and tip, so this was a great value and a really cute and fun way to spend some quality time with friends. read more

Oh my sweet tooth goodness! I stopped in to Bouchée Confections today and selected a Strawberry Pistachio Petits Gâteaux. This sweet baby cake did not disappoint! The vanilla mascarpone mousse was light as air and the ground pistachios was a wonderful contrast to the lightness of the mousse. Tip, if your plan is to transport these treats be extra careful. Even with the utmost of care in packaging by the chocolatier, I some how bump the dessert on the side of the box causing a blemish on this beautiful work of art. It broke my heart because it was a gorgeous cake. If this happens don't worry it will still taste fantastic. I highly recommend buying a few truffles while your there. They are not your traditional flavors. Think wasabi, jalapeño marzipan, and lemon milk chocolate. There are a few small tables to enjoy your treats there or you can make your selections (good luck, you'll want it all) and take your order to go. Staff was helpful and patient while I made my choices. You can tell and see their pride in their truffles and desserts. Parking is easy to find as it's located in a strip mall with plenty of parking. Loved loved loved coming in for High Tea! I found out about this place from a Yelp Elite event a while back and saw that they do a High Tea Service twice a month so I knew we would be back. We walked in and all of the tables were set with the cutest tea sets! Everyone got their own pot of tea to themselves with whatever tea they wanted. I loved the lavender vanilla tea while my husband enjoyed his lady grey and our friend had a delicious herbal blend. Then came out the beautiful tower of food. All of the tea sandwiches were fun and different twists on the traditional. Curried chicken, pastrami and an eggplant one! Moving up the tower we had lavender scones with homemade clotted cream, marmalade and lemon curd all of which paired perfectly. We did high tea for four which came with four different types of finger sandwiches. The cucumber dill was my favorite. The next tier up had apple scones with real clotted cream, jam and lemon curd. The top tier included praline candies, chocolate dipped strawberries, date bars and a little donuty pastry thingy that was great with some of the lemon curd on it. We ordered three pots of tea, all were gorgeous in beautiful pots. Men, don't think you can't do high tea! They are only slightly frufru but not old Victorian at all. This is modern and too good to pass up! There were two guys on dates while we were there. On the way out we all bought boxes of chocolates and other items to give for Christmas. The most beautifully crafted chocolates. I haven't been to a lot of other chocolate places, but a coworker shared with us these creations a year ago, as she is friends with the owner. I bought multiple boxes and caramels for gifts because I can't get over how gorgeous and unique these feel. There is real effort in the presentation of not only what is edible but also the delivery in the boxes and storage. This year she has opened up a storefront unstead of operating mostly at markets and such, and has even more flavors, including seasonal ones like mexican hot chocolate and eggnog. The owner, Natalie, is responsive and friendly. I messaged her on IG asking her to hold one of her new "boxes" this year, which she happily did. It's a freakin chocolate box! Filled with individual chocolates! She has also trained with what appear to be, fancy ass people and places like France! She also has other sweet creations outside of just chocolates including caramels and candied walnuts. And in her shop she supports other small artists and businesses that create things like body butters, candles and even bowties and such Overall, feel pretty lucky to have this option in town and like I said, make a great little gift. I made a reservation here for tea for myself, my husband, and my seven month old. Being courteous, I chose a reservation for two people, although there were reservations available for three. Since my infant is not a paying customer, I just placed in the comments that she would be with us either on my person in my carrying pouch or in her stroller. I received the most unprofessional message about how busy they are to accommodate an infant and how this is their busiest time of year. Poor business for having business! By far the rudest and shittiest message that I've received from a local vendor. This is Reno. Not Paris. Although, infants are allowed at teas in Paris. This message typer acted as if he/she was some superior adult letting me know what an inconvenience my infant was, to their "biggest retail day of the year." I literally had the option to make a reservation for three and thought, "No, that isn't kind, we can be accommodated for just two and I'll let them know about my baby girl." Not only was I planning of doing the tea, if I liked it, I was planning on placing individual confections box orders for 60 people for January for an event. Needless to say, I canceled the reservation. I'll never be going here and quite frankly, I hope they go out of business with this attitude. A delicious treat for your eyes and taste buds! We walked into the store today for a sweet treat and we definitely were not disappointed. Not only are there a wide variety of chocolates available, there are a few other pre-packaged in-home sweet treats to purchase along with some local handmade goods (candles and such). The person helping us in the store was quite nice and let us sample a few of the products before we made up our mind. We settled on a 6-piece chocolate box of which we chose our own flavors. We tried butterscotch, chai, strawberry balsamic, caramel, blueberry cheesecake, and raspberry. They were all so delicious and beautiful by design. I personally enjoyed the strawberry balsamic, in particular. We had a great experience here and the gourmet chocolates were divine.
