    Thank you!

In early 2020, I discovered Lowenkind Bakery on Instagram. I wanted to make a purchase but I was sheltering in place. So I figured I would wait until I was able to attend a farmers market close by. For some reason, lockdown kept happening for me. One reason after another, I had to shelter in place and couldn't go purchase a European pastry. I was getting so discouraged. And then, the option for Thanksgiving delivery appears!! I immediately contacted the baker and ordered! I can't wait to order more! It helps that the goodies are clean eating!

The absolute best baker in Reno! She is the sweetest soul & every single cake or pastry we have tried has been ridiculously delicious. My partner & I struggle to stop ourselves from eating the entire cake in one sitting let alone share. The pictures do not do the decadent flavors justice!

WOW!!! We were at the Carson Farmers Market this morning and picked up the Berry Hazelnut Cake. It is gluten free and made with high quality ingredients. The baker was there and explained all the desserts and ingredients. The cake is absolutely delicious! It's moist, not super sweet with just the right amount of tart. Perfect!! A piece of this cake and a cup of coffee... oh yes! I will definitely be a repeat customer and cannot wait to try her other desserts.

    Amazing French almond pear cake!

This is the second cake I've had from Lowenkind Bakery. It was absolutely incredible. This is a French almond pear cake which is a moist almond flavored cake that has little pieces of chocolate as well as little pieces of juicy pears. Covered with a thin layer of icing. We added the fresh berries when we presented the cake at a recent birthday gathering. It's not a big cake but what it lacks in size in packs in flavor. And the best part is it's gluten-free. So yummy and delicious. Can't wait to try my next cake from this amazing bakery!

Today I had some of the best gluten-free cookies, they are called Amarettis. All of the other pastries here look delicious, looking forward to trying them out again next time I'm back in Las Vegas. I found Lowenkind Bakery in a stand at the Fresh 52 Farmer's Market at Tivoli Village.

The Minced Pork Dumplings, however, were not for us. I believe the flavor of the Chinese leek may have been what turned us off. As for the Napoleon, it wasn't very sweet or particularly flavorful, and it made quite a mess to eat. Not something I'd reorder. The Sui Mai was delicious, and I would definitely order it again. This was the winner of our take home feast. While not everything was a hit for us, we'd return for the Sui Mai and BBQ Pork Buns and other explore some other items that we have yet to try.

I was hoping for a larger variety of flavors and more items available, but the display felt a little limited during my visit. I would have loved to try more of what they have to offer. We got one of everything they had and that ended us up with lots of earl gray flavors admittedly not my favorite. That said, quality definitely won over quantity. Specifically, they do a coconut cloud matcha, which is a base of lightly sweetened coconut water topped with a matcha foam. It's perfectly sweet and incredibly refreshing on a warm day. The ambiance here is perfectly upscale and accessible. The decor is very chic, and their outdoor patio space is very nice. The service is always great, and though there can be a huge line, it often moves quickly. My only wish for Perenn would be that I could visit more often! I love watching the people and cars go by in Midtown while enjoying a great meal. We started with drinks. I ordered the Limoncello Spritz, and wow--it was absolutely out of this world! My husband ordered the Chardonnay, and owner Claudio explained that it's made in the traditional Italian style. Instead of being buttery like many California Chardonnays, it's slightly sweeter and very smooth. After trying my cocktail, my husband decided to order a Limoncello Spritz too, and he ended up enjoying it even more than the wine. We skipped the appetizers and salads and went straight to the main event. I ordered the mushroom ravioli, which I had been dreaming about all day. It was light, delicate, and packed with incredible flavor. My husband, who is from New Zealand, chose the lamb chops. They were cooked to perfection, so tender you could cut them with a butter knife. He paired them with the asparagus risotto, which was delicious but a little heavy alongside the lamb. We ended up taking some home, and next time I'd recommend pairing the lamb with a salad instead. To finish, we shared the large ricotta cannoli topped with chocolate chips. It was heavenly, light, creamy, and it practically melted in our mouths. Honestly, every dessert we've had here has been fantastic. Dolce Caffè continues to impress with its authentic Italian flavors, warm hospitality, and wonderful atmosphere.
