    Lobster Roll Sandwich
    Michael-Anthony T.

This review is mainly for the lobster roll. Probably the most dry lobster roll I've ever had. I mean, what should I expect right? It's not like this place specializes in lobster rolls, but I just wanted everyone to steer clear from it. If you've had a lobster roll at other places, do not have high expectations. Overall, the service was good. Nothing to complain about.

Brown spots on my lettuce. Must be from the previous day.

Let's start with walking in the young lady standing at the front, looks at me and gave me the impression to you the kiosk to order rather then taking my order right way. After seeing that it was taking me some time to find what I wanted, she then asked me that she could take my order. I ordered two salads at 11am, the lettuce must have been from the previous day because it had brown spots all over them and my order was to go so I didn't notice it till I was home. Very disappointed in today's service and the quality of the food. Maybe It's not too smart to order food in the morning time at this location.

Came into Main Place mall just to walk around this week. We ended up eating at Boudin. Restaurant was fairly quiet. I got a half great bacon and cheese melt and yummy rustic tomato soup. I really liked and enjoyed my meal. Hubby got a turkey with cranberry and chips. He liked it and said the sandwich was refreshing. The cashier that helped me informed me that I had earned a $3 dollar reward after purchase so I decided to get a peanut butter cookie that I thought had been discontinued for sometime but glad to see that it was not or that they brought it back because it is delicious!!!

Who doesn't love a good bread bowl??!? Ok, and if not, they have pretty tasty salads as well. ;) The service is quick and friendly, and the ambiance matches the SanFranTokyo vibe, with plenty of seating outside as well. A good place to stop and have a snack. :)

The soup is too die for This is the best soup you're gonna get Even if you get the half and half you are doing yourself a service The sourdough bread bowl is why you come here! Legit best thing you're gonna have and it holds to the same quality as the original in SF Great prices too

First time eating here and glad we did. This is one of those places thats just a secret gem and wow to think I've never been here before is weird. The food is great and very fresh and the bread is spectacular whether you get a sandwich or a bowl. Server was very friendly and helpful. Inside is clean and quiet.

Bitter lettuce core in my salad.

I wrote a similar post, 9 months ago and unfortunately, things haven't changed. I just love Boudin but I hate getting the bitter lettuce core in my salad. Not just one, but multiple pieces. Unfortunately, I may need to give Boudin a break until they can fix their prep methods. I just don't understand why they can't remove the core before they chop the lettuce. I now tell my husband that it's not a Boudin Salad without bitter cores. Disappointed.

The holiday turkey sandwich was delish! It tasted fresh, and the flavor combination of sweet cranberries, and savory turkey was great however, the crust of the sourdough at the edges of the sandwich was a little tough to eat/chew. The clam chowder in the bread bowl was a hit and an all time favorite.

My first experience with Boudin SF was in San Francisco a few years ago, where I was instantly impressed by their famous sourdough bread bowls filled with delicious soup. I had no idea there were actually a few locations in OC until we took our little one to Discovery Cube and stumbled upon one nearby! We ordered through their kiosk and tried a variety of dishes: chicken pesto sandwich, butternut squash soup in a bread bowl, Little Gem Cobb salad, and a kids' cheese pizza. The real star of the meal was the kids' pizza, our usually picky 3-year-old devoured the entire thing, which almost never happens! He even finished the chocolate chip cookie that came with the meal later in the day. As for the rest of the food, the butternut squash soup was my favorite. Sweet, creamy, and the bread bowl was the perfect chewy vessel. The chicken pesto sandwich was solid. The Cobb salad was fresh and crunchy, no sad wilted lettuce here. Prices were fair, portions were big, and everything tasted good. Now if they'd just open one even closer to me, that'd be perfect. Until then, I'll be back next time we're near Discovery Cube--mostly so my kid can inhale another pizza.

Didn't want to drive to get food today but this has good reviews and it was recommended on uber eats. Got here pretty fast. Not much to say about service since I didn't go in person and not sure how it is at the actual store so as for as ambiance not sure as well. But the food we got was an Asian citrus chicken which was probably the highlight of the food just because the sweet fruits mixed with the spicy salad dressing was a good contrast. The broccoli cheddar soup was really disappointing. It was so salty I had to stop eating it because it was not enjoyable. The bread bowl itself was good with the butter they pack. And fries could actually use more seasoning.

Mac & Cheese & Turkey Cranberry Sandwich

Came here for a quick lunch. Similar to another sandwich place you may be familiar with they do offer a pick 2 which was what I got. The staff appeared to be busy working on orders to go. While dining in I noticed that the place was clean and staff was awesome at doing their jobs as they were on top of their orders! I got my food fairly quickly. My mac and cheese was tasty and warm. While my sandwich was decent in that it could have had more turkey, however the bread was soft and just right! Can't wait to try other options!

Service was ok. I ordered at the kiosk. I only fries and they were blah. Nothing special and I wouldn't go back. This little bag for $5+. Not worth it.

Lived in the Bay Area and nice to have a slice of SF in OC. That being said it's good but not like the original. The turtle was a little hard but the 4 cheese pizza my son almost ate it all. Quick service. Place is nice and clean.

Told us everything is made in-house, even the sauces! That's really good to know and makes me feel better about the food. She even gave me a free delicious cookie for being a first timer! And she comes around from time to time to check on us to make sure we're enjoying our food. Really nice to receive this kind of attention from a fast-casual restaurant. The Santa Maria BBQ Salad looked good but I asked her if they could substitute the chicken with the Chimichurri steak and she said "sure!" And surprisingly they did not charge extra! I love restaurants that are flexible like this. My salad bowl was SO good and filling. Lots of good stuff in it: chopped salad mix, coleslaw mix, Applewood-smoked bacon, crumbled goat cheese, corn & black bean salsa, grape tomatoes. Served with chipotle ranch dressing and blackberry BBQ sauce on the side, and a fresh baked focaccia bread. The only thing I wasn't a huge fan of was the cold meat. I was under the impression that the meat was going to be hot. My BF got the Southwestern Sandwich. It was delicious. All the Southwestern flavors were there but not overwhelming. The sandwich was hot and juicy. For a restaurant that makes everything from scratch, their prices are very affordable. Both our meals were only $27 total. The employee taking our order and serving the sandwich was genuinely pleasant, attentive, and accommodating, offering great recommendations that made choosing easy and the experience even smoother. The sourdough was exactly how it should be: fresh, crisp, lightly toasted and sturdy enough to hold everything together. Inside, Calabrian deviled egg salad met a perfectly jammy egg, spicy mayo and peppers for a creamy, tangy kick with just the right amount of heat. Messy? A little. Worth it? Absolutely. This was a lip-smacking, reach-for-another-bite kind of sandwich. We didn't have time to dive into the beer selection, but there were plenty of tempting options. I ordered on a Saturday and it took about 30 minutes for the food to be ready, so you might want to order ahead if you're already hungry . I asked for the vegetables on the side and both sandwiches cut in half. I got the #1 Classic Dac Biet Banh Mi and the #6 Crispy Pork Belly Banh Mi. #1 Classic Dac Biet This was VERY good. I think I actually like their dac biet better than Banh Mi My Tho, and that was my favorite banh mi place coming in! There was something about their pate that was so savory and umami. Whatever it was actually dripped everywhere, but it was delicious . I say pate "sauce" because I always thought pate was more of a paste that gets smeared onto the bread, and I don't think the liquid was coming from the vegetables. Either way, I haven't really had anything quite like it before, and it went really well with all the meats. The vegetables were fresh, and they were very generous with them too. The only thing I really wish was better was the bread. It was toasted, but it was so hard that it actually cut my gums. I had to tug at the sandwich just to get a bite off . Unfortunately, the bread was the same on both sandwiches. #6 Crispy Pork Belly I had pretty high expectations for this one. The pork belly looked juicy and wasn't completely dry, but for some reason, the more I chewed it, the drier it tasted. I also thought the flavor was pretty mild. I really wanted to like this one, but honestly, I'd probably rather eat the roasted pork belly by itself and dip it in some hoisin sauce. Between the two, #1 is definitely the one I'd come back for. I'd skip #6 next time and try another sandwich instead. The dac biet alone is enough to bring me back!

The sandwich was generously filled the fresh ingredients and the meat to veggie ratio was perfect. I'm not sure what the green sauce was that they finished the sammie off with but it was SO tasty!! I requested the popcorn chicken with medium heat and it was just spicy enough to leave my tongue tingling slightly. My friend saved an egg roll for me and it was also really good. (The tea by the way was very refreshing.) Now, this was my first time here but I never saw anyone come out to check the dining room or wipe down the tables after the lunch rush. This was especially concerning to me because they had a guy doing work on the windows who put his feet/ shoes on the tables right under said windows. Ewww. But aside from the parking challenge and the table hygiene/cleanliness, our visit was quite enjoyable and the food was very good. We would definitely return, but we'll have to plan around the lunch rush!

I was really looking forward to trying the crawfish pasta, and the portion was generous with plenty…read moreof crawfish and sausage. The presentation was nice, but unfortunately, the sauce was way too salty for my taste. I usually eat less salt, so the saltiness really overpowered the other flavors and made it difficult to enjoy the dish. Overall, it had potential, but I think the sauce could use a lot less salt to let the crawfish and other ingredients shine.
