I always make a note to remember next time but never do. I finally remembered. I'm not usually a huge seafood fan and assumed they'd have a menu heavy in fish and shrimp. They actually had a pretty good mixture of options. We went with an appetizer of Boudin Balls. Very good. The sauce they came with wasn't a perfect match but it was good. They could have kept the bed of fries below. I went with shrimp and grits. It was recommended by the cashier and I figured i'd at least like the grits. It was delicious. Shrimp, grits and all. My only issue is that it was kind of a lot of fried food. The grits were fried.... They were good but now I know to order them with a side of veggies instead of fried boudin balls. All that fried food is a bit much for one sitting! Service was ok. They bring the food and don't really return. If I had known that I would have added a smaller tip to my card. We arrived early and there was no waiting at order counter but the two employees there were just talking away. We stood there and I interrupted the conversation .We placed our order and had to repeat it a couple times because the employees kept talking. The fried and grilled shrimp were passable but the blackened shrimp was very good. The blackened shrimp is the only thing worth eating. The good: For the quality of food, the price is more than reasonable. My favorite dish by far is The Orleans. Most of the items I've eaten there are good but the Orleans dish is a stand out. Food is done in a timely manner so its a good place to go for lunch break. There's no wait staff so it's self serve drinks which I like because you dont have to tip. The less good: Gumbo is such a preference dish and i personally found their seafood gumbo lacking. Its the one dish i wouldnt get there again but that's just my personal taste. I would have given 5 stars if not for the gumbo. They cant expect everyone to like everything on the menu so i feel I'm being kinda harsh but its a cajun restaurant and the gumbo has to be on point in my opinion. Pathetic service. 30 minutes to get 2 salads and a kids meal. I asked to talk to a manager when they finally brought the meal. The food delivery person returned and said I needed to go to the front check in counter if I wanted to talk to him. This location is no where near as good as the one on I10. Their food presentation and service is exceptional. Here it did not exist. When I was leaving the manager was table side trying to help another customer who also did not have food delivered to them. A co-worker and I went for a Cajun appetizer run. The Fuqua location is just down the road, seemed like a no brainer. The wait in line was fast we had our order in drinks in hand very quickly, but then it turned into the doctors office style waiting room, with no interaction until what seemed like an hour!my co-worker ordered gator and boudin, I ordered gator and shrimp fondue. His gator arrived cold, his boudin was fine. They asked me at that point what I ordered. I repeated the simple order, and then almost immediately received my order of almost warm gator, no fondue. Oh it's coming sir, wow!!! After our food was gone they brought the fondue. So I ate it while my co-worker waited trying to level up on candy crush since his meal was done. First time visiting this place yesterday. I ordered the half shrimp po and gumbo and I added a side of red beans and rice. The Shrimp po boy was very big for a half and it tasted good. I was satisfied. The gumbo was good but I wish it had more shrimp. Red beans and rice were okay...didn't have much seasoning but it was tasty could have been better. The service for me was great. It was our first time there and the cashier was very patient and pleasantt with us. She wasn't rude and she explained the process. The one thing I didn't like was that the food should have been hot. My red beans and rice and gumbo were luke warm. Po boy was hot and my boyfriend's food was hot but thats about it. He enjoyed his food as well. The Shrimp fondue was delicious! Being raised in South Louisiana, I give the food 3 stars, but the service is an absolute zero. You stand in line, order your food, they bring you your food, but that is where it all stops. Boudreaux's is a moderately priced Cajun seafood chain featuring good food if perhaps a little light on customer service. After all you stand in line to order and pay, get your own drinks and utensils and seat yourself so there really isn't much interaction with the staff. While we were in line my wife pointed out to me that all of the booths needed to be bussed. Because the restaurant was not full it was starkly obvious. After we ordered she made the same comment to the staff and they acknowledged her, but made no effort to address the problem. We got our drinks, found a clean table (many of them also hadn't been cleared either) and sat down. I realized we forgot to get silverware and went back for it only to find there were no forks (obviously, since they were out on all of the tables waiting to be cleared). We waited and watched as customers left and their tables sat filthy and the line got longer and longer with no effort being made to bus tables. Customers were wandering about and in some cases choosing the least dirty tables to clean for themselves. Eventually, after the food came out, someone brought out silverware. As for the food, it was reliably good hitting all of the right notes of Cajun cuisine. If you like fried fish, chicken or French fries, the cooks at Boudreaux's have it down to a science. The seafood gumbo is not what your grandma would make, but it is consistently good. I'm also a fan of the pecan crusted chicken salad (but unlike fried fish, chicken or shrimp, it requires a fork). This was the result of poor management and I hope it is addressed quickly. I'll go back one more time, but if there's no improvement I'll be diving on to Cajun Town (restaurant). read more

Easily some of the best Cajun food I've had! Anthony was a wonderful server as well. Started with fried pickles, fried gator, and fried crawfish as apps. Then had the crab cake stuffed fish as an entree with onion rings as a side. (Visiting from DC so had to get as much in as I could.) Had the purple voodoo to drink... be careful, they're strong and taste like purple kool-aid. All in all, was a great experience! read more
