Boulangerie Christophe in DC is one of those places that truly transports you--the moment you walk in, you're met with the warm, fresh aroma of pastries and a lively, bustling café atmosphere that feels straight out of the south of France. It's clearly a popular spot, so I'd recommend getting there early--there's a good amount of seating, but it fills up quickly, and while there's usually a line to order, it's absolutely worth the wait. Just be prepared that parking in the area can be a bit tricky. The food was outstanding across the board. We ordered a flan, a mango-flavored dessert (name aside, it was incredible), and two crepes--all beautifully made and full of flavor. I had the salmon with an egg on the side, which was especially memorable: rich and satisfying, yet still light and well-balanced. A special shoutout to Neve, who provided exceptional service. She had an impressive memory and got every detail of our order exactly right, all while being warm and attentive. It's easy to see why this bakery has earned such a strong reputation--the quality, authenticity, and overall experience really stand out. Whether you're stopping in for a quick pastry or a full meal, Boulangerie Christophe delivers a charming, genuinely French café experience that's well worth a visit!

What a cute spot to stop by and pick up a sandwich, pastry, or coffee! They have a back of the shop for you to go and enjoy the nice weather. Service is quick and they have a great variety of different options. Feels very much so like a real French coffee shop!

What an excellent little bakery! You walk in and instantly see cases full of exquisite pastries and baked goods. Behind the cases and register is an outdoor seating area that can be covered and heated in the winter. It's so cute! It's decorated with plants and photos and feels so welcoming, even in winter. The pastries were delicious! I had a pistachio croissant and the dough was flaky and light. The filling was rich and creamy. I would love to come back!

Love a bakery with a full and colorful display case right in the door. It always turns a potential quick stop to a desire to grab something or multiple something's and really enjoy your visit. Boulangerie Christophe is such a cute location, and their backyard deck and hangout space was perfect to sit back on a hot day, sip my tea, and enjoy a fresh and delicious apricot croissant. Service was quick and helpful, and has inspired me to return on my next venture into Georgetown.

I asked the staff if they had anything gluten-free, and it took them a minute to get back to me. They had misplaced their allergen menu, so they couldn't guarantee anything. A quick Google search confirmed that I could have the raspberry macaron. The filling and cream were delicious, but the actual macaron was very sweet and sugary. I wasn't able to finish it as it was too much sugar! Why the three stars? Although there was plenty of seating available, it was all dirty. There was a ton of trash on the ground, and the tables were full of crumbs and very sticky. I'm assuming they're understaffed, but they should definitely have someone cleaning.

I stopped in here on a whim while I was strolling through the neighborhood on my break. It was lively and bustling. I noticed the front desk cashiers were speaking French, so it definitely set the scene. Honestly, I wasn't sure what I wanted, but they had an assortment of pastries and croissants. I opted to get a slice of lemon bread. It was really good! It was light, airy, and had lemon zest garnish on top. I would like to come back again and be seated.

Came back after, probably, a year or more of not being in the area. Still great selection of desserts and fancy breads. The service was thoughtful and welcoming. We also enjoyed the nicely decorated area at the back. Happy to come back when we are in Georgetown again!

This is a fun French place to stop in to. The setting takes you right to Paris. So lovely to sit in the back. However, the food is only ok. Everything to me can be described as ehh. They also take your order before you ever get to see everything, so good luck not just panicking and ordering whatever is just right in front of me. I went on a random Tuesday. Had a hard time ordering and getting a table. Their bathroom was also out of all toilet paper and paper towel...

Great coffee, delicious pastries, and very friendly staff. We loved the outdoor seating--it has a lovely atmosphere and is the perfect spot to relax. We'll definitely be back!

Popped into Boulangerie Christophe for the first time. I ordered a fresh-squeezed orange juice, which was refreshing, along with a Pain aux raisins pastry that was delicious and the perfect pick me up. It felt like a quick escape to France. I'll definitely be back to try more. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming.

It's a cute French bakery with a lot of interesting options for dessert. I tried pistachio cream dessert - it was very light and not too sweet. I also ordered croissant with egg and cheese - which was good but overwhelmingly cheesy. I would definitely come back to try other desserts.

Nice spot, definitely good baked goods. The tuna sandwich looks so good. I got an oat milk cap and an almond croissant. It was good, personally I enjoy the paste for croissants this was more of a chopped almond filling. When heated it was a bit softer, but very good and lots of layers. More chewy. I tried the tomato goat quiche too and it was quite good. The service was quite nice, very attentive and helpful. Lastly the seating was nice, plenty of room. There were some birds in there too really added to the feel.

The line moves fast! Worth a visit. The mille-feuille was delicious--creamy, flaky layers and lightly sweet. The ham and cheese sandwich was also delish! I'm not a huge ham person, but the cheese balanced it so well. It was heated up too which was nice!

    Where can i park?

Street parking is the only option!

How is this place with small children, say 6 to 12 years old?

You can bring small children here. It gets busy especially on the weekend. That is something you need to know. I didn't spot high chairs if that is a concern

Is this an appropriate place to bring a laptop for a short while?

The downstairs area is more casual (order at the counter, eat on paper plates, grab a seat at high tables by the window) while the upstairs is more sit-down. That being said, I think it would be ok to work with a laptop downstairs but it is a small…

    What are their timings?

Not sure. Although we did go for breakfast at 8:45am on a Thursday and there were people seated eating before us. Hope that helps. It really is delicious.

They are open until 1 PM on Saturdays, we reached at around 11:30 AM and I was half hoping for them to be out of most items. Fortunately, even though they were super packed, we were able to find all of the items we were looking for - thanks to the hard working staff as they continue to make their pastries until closing - unlike so many other bakeries these days that make a certain amount and call it a day! Now to the food, everything we had was absolutely phenomenal! I am not a donut person but I loved theirs as they were very flavorful and weren't too sweet. I definitely prefer their Ube and Pandan over the Black sesame donut. The Matcha chocolate croissant and the Ube Kouign Amann were my favorites of the bunch! The interior is small but cozy- there's also some seats/tables outside. I ordered the savory scone and a chocolate croissant and they were both delicious. The chocolate in the middle was the perfect amount and wasn't too sweet either. For drinks, their syrups are also made in the house too! I ordered the Chai and at first I asked for half the syrup because I'm not a fan of drinks that are too sweet, but the person who took my order assured me that it's not too sweet to begin with and she was right! In our typical tradition, we cut everything into fourths and the whole family tries every pastry (everyone wins... ;). We thoroughly enjoyed both the savory and sweet (chocolate) options. I could see how this would be an acquired taste for some. I loved being able to peak into the kitchen to see the big oven and where all the magic happens. I also appreciated their sweet neighborhood location and the big windows offering lots of natural light. Overall, a positive and tasty experience.

I had absolutely no plans on buying or eating cake that day, but as a cake lover stuff happens. It was such a cute building the pastries had to be everything! It turned out to be the perfect stop. 1. The looks The building itself is so cute on the outside, and being a fan of the color pink, it instantly caught my attention. Inside, it feels less like a fast, high volume bakery and more like an intimate cake boutique. It gives small town where the owners know you by your first name. You can feel that real love was put into the space and the baking. Tasted like every ingredient was hand mixed, every cake hand frosted, and every cookie carefully hand scooped. They even served my slice of coconut cake on a real plate, which was such a cute, bourgeois touch that I loved. 2. Service The hospitality here is top-notch. On my first visit, yes you heard me! Lol! The gentleman Eric who rang me up was incredibly knowledgeable about all the different cookie and cake flavors. I ended up returning the very next day, and although he wasn't there, the other two staff members working which included Mikaela were absolutely delightful and so kind. The young lady told me her daughter loves the carrot cake as well and Mikaela said they started working there because they loved the patties so much! 3. The Cakes -Coconut Cake: This slice was so delicious, fluffy, and airy that it instantly reminded me of being a kid at holiday family meals with a fresh coconut cake on the table. -Carrot Cake: It was everything you want a carrot cake to be. It was nice and dense yet soft, with a pleasant texture from the added fruits. Definitely noticed pineapple bits! The cream cheese frosting wasn't overly thick and was so good you could eat it completely by itself. -Strawberry Cupcakes: I stole a small bite of my son's. unfortunately, this one was my least favorite. The frosting had a little chemical taste to it but it was a super cute cupcake. To answer your question, will I return? Absolutely! If you are in the DC area or planning a trip there soon, check this spot out. It truly feels like a mom and pop or pop and pop boutique. Not a bakery but a BOUTIQUE! Check them out!
