This is a very nice French bakery located just outside of downtown DC. There is limited metered street parking available within a reasonable walking distance. The bakery has a small dining area with a few chairs and smooth, pleasant music playing in the background. They have some Instagrammable fruit pastries, fruit-filled croissants, tarts, crepes, cakes, macaroons, subs, and coffees. I got one of the filled fruit pastries that was made famous by Instagram. The staff there was very nice and friendly. I ended up getting one of the burger pastries (pistachio- and raspberry-filled), a lemon tart, and a mango pastry. They were so good. I will admit, they are a bit messy too. You need to keep them in the refrigerator if you are not going to eat them right away. I will also admit that the pastries are a bit on the pricey side. All-in-all, I really liked this place. It was really hard to choose just 3 items. They all looked so good. They taste as good as they look. And that is saying a lot. The presentation is first class. A great, cozy patisserie shop for a quick meal or dessert before a show at the Lincoln Theatre! We opted for a ham and Gruyère cheese crepe and a ham and cheese sandwich for our mains. The crepe was tasty but the cheese was not fully melted. We were pleasantly surprised by the ham and cheese sandwich, we opted for it to be served cold but the bread was soft, meats were fresh tasting and it was much larger in size than we expected. With 3D sculpted fruit going viral, we decided this was the perfect patisserie shop to give them a try! The sculpted pear and mango were both great, albeit a bit hard to eat, and were filled with real fruit instead of an overly sweet preserve. When we arrived at around 11am on a Sunday, we were the only customers. But within a few minutes, the shop was filled with people. Service was friendly and responsive. Even though I didn't see brewed coffee on the menu, I did espy what I thought was a coffee maker. Still, I went ahead with an Americano. It was decent. I ordered a pistachio cookie. I watched so many reviews from influencers about this place. Traveled from Nevada and made sure to find time to visit. All I can say is I was disappointed. I bought 2 mangos 1 lemon 1 peach and a pistachio tart. I don't believe any of these influencers anymore because these tasted below a 5. Peach one smelt like Parmesan cheese. Of course my 7 year old convinced me to go here to try their fruit deserts. It's a very nice corner pastry spot down on U Street. The ambiance gives very elegant and French vibes. I came here at around 9 am for some sweet treats and a breakfast. the inside is super cute, I really appreciated the theme and it made my dining experience quite pleasant. The staff were really friendly as well. My partner and I ordered the mango, strawberry, strawberry cream croissant, and dubai chocolate crepe. We knew what to expect price-wise, so despite the lack of pastry signage we were prepared for our final bill. The dubai chocolate crepe was probably the best thing we had, but it needed a lot more chocolate as most of it was just pistachio and pretty one-note. The strawberry cream croissant was good but not fresh and my partner commented the strawberries tasted frozen (I didn't really agree). The mango had a light mango flavor and was good but i wouldn't pay $12 for it. The strawberry was frozen in the middle, even after leaving it at room temperature for 15 minutes as recommended. So I was able to stop by here since it was close to the metro and decided to try the place out. I've been meaning to try this place out and seen a bunch of tiktoks on it. I got the spinach pastry and then one of trompe l'oeuil fruit dessert. I only got one bc none of the pastries have any price tags on them. I can see why bc one of those fruits costs about $12.99. Were they worth it? IMO, I don't think so. It was fun to eat but even then, I didn't like the inside of mine which was the pear fruit. Summary: Beautiful atmosphere. Kind owners. Lack of clarity to customers, questionable sanitary wise, room for improvement. Lacking desserts. Food: I've tried numerous things here and have been here numerous times. The only thing that stood out was the coconut dessert which on its own is a 7.4/10. The hyper realistic fruit is slightly above average looking but is extremely lacking taste wise. The other desserts are weak as well. Cookies were dry and stale tasting. Pistachio dome and flack Forest cake fell flat and did not have complimenting flavors or textures. Professionalism:The crepe I received came without pistachio. According to the man who made it they ran out but didn't tell me that prior to receiving it. it was corrected when I notified the cashier proving they were not in fact out, I'm assuming he didn't want to refill the bottle. I was told they shipped their ingredients from Europe. However all the syrups and products seen were Hershey's, or other various cheap American products. Sanitary: The crepe station had a hair on the counter which came in very close contact with the food, said counter was also extremely unorganized Hospitality: kind, genuine owners. I was told they were out of mango but he pulled one last one out of the counter for me, I'm assuming he was saving it for someone. Atmosphere: aesthetic for sure, makes for lovely photos( when it's not so busy of course) it is often loud and crowded, would not make a good place for work meetings or studying Final thoughts: if you're someone who wants aesthetic foods in an aesthetic cafe this is the place for you! We were really looking forward to this place. We had seen some fun videos and it was going to be the highlight of our day. We ordered the crêpes which were fantastic. We also ordered the cute fruit custard desserts, which were also great. The coffee and Matcha were not very good at all. We ended up tossing them. The ambience was cute. But the worst part of this was the service. There was a tall, then younger gentleman who clearly did not want to work. And a younger girl who was following him around. We waited 20 minutes for our coffee and an additional 10 minutes for our crêpes. We were the only customers in the place. I am not sure if we did not tip enough when we paid or why they didn't want to make our food. Another family came in after us and they did not move much faster for them either.
