This is a very nice French bakery located just outside of downtown DC. There is limited metered street parking available within a reasonable walking distance. The bakery has a small dining area with a few chairs and smooth, pleasant music playing in the background. They have some Instagrammable fruit pastries, fruit-filled croissants, tarts, crepes, cakes, macaroons, subs, and coffees. I got one of the filled fruit pastries that was made famous by Instagram. The staff there was very nice and friendly. I ended up getting one of the burger pastries (pistachio- and raspberry-filled), a lemon tart, and a mango pastry. They were so good. I will admit, they are a bit messy too. You need to keep them in the refrigerator if you are not going to eat them right away. I will also admit that the pastries are a bit on the pricey side. All-in-all, I really liked this place. It was really hard to choose just 3 items. They all looked so good. They taste as good as they look. And that is saying a lot. The presentation is first class. Although I love the bakery items, like the raspberry lemon custard was my favorite. My sister and I shared the Dubai chocolate and it was perfect with awesome crunch. We came in about 45 minutes before closing, and the lady at the counter stated that they did not serve crêpes anymore.. I can understand maybe 20 minutes of closing, but she wasn't willing to make anymore. She was also rudely speaking to her coworkers about how this place wouldn't be sh*t if she was to walk out right now.. maybe something that should've been discussed behind doors and not at the front counter with customers. Leaning all over the counters as she is serving us, I think she could have been a little more presenting than looking like she was ready to clock out. They already had chairs pushed together and tables put up with 40 minutes left to close.. didn't feel too welcomed, but I hated to walk out after we looked interested already. A great, cozy patisserie shop for a quick meal or dessert before a show at the Lincoln Theatre! We opted for a ham and Gruyère cheese crepe and a ham and cheese sandwich for our mains. The crepe was tasty but the cheese was not fully melted. We were pleasantly surprised by the ham and cheese sandwich, we opted for it to be served cold but the bread was soft, meats were fresh tasting and it was much larger in size than we expected. With 3D sculpted fruit going viral, we decided this was the perfect patisserie shop to give them a try! The sculpted pear and mango were both great, albeit a bit hard to eat, and were filled with real fruit instead of an overly sweet preserve. When we arrived at around 11am on a Sunday, we were the only customers. But within a few minutes, the shop was filled with people. Service was friendly and responsive. Even though I didn't see brewed coffee on the menu, I did espy what I thought was a coffee maker. Still, I went ahead with an Americano. It was decent. I ordered a pistachio cookie. With dabs of white chocolate, it was excellent with a pronounced pistachio flavor. My niece ordered a hefty-sized strawberry croissant. It had a delicious filling. I came here at around 9 am for some sweet treats and a breakfast. the inside is super cute, I really appreciated the theme and it made my dining experience quite pleasant. The staff were really friendly as well. My partner and I ordered the mango, strawberry, strawberry cream croissant, and dubai chocolate crepe. We knew what to expect price-wise, so despite the lack of pastry signage we were prepared for our final bill. The dubai chocolate crepe was probably the best thing we had, but it needed a lot more chocolate as most of it was just pistachio and pretty one-note. The strawberry cream croissant was good but not fresh and my partner commented the strawberries tasted frozen (I didn't really agree). The mango had a light mango flavor and was good but i wouldn't pay $12 for it. The strawberry was frozen in the middle, even after leaving it at room temperature for 15 minutes as recommended. I come here about 3 times a week, mostly because it's quiet, quaint, the staff is personable, and the pastries are both eye pleasing and delicious. They have perfected both sweet and savory crepes and the coffee is almost as good as that I drank my way through Paris. I've been here twice. The first time, the cashier was very rude but I brushed it off because I was in a hurry. The second time, I was also in a hurry and ordered a matcha latte with regular milk, a pump of lavender syrup and a pump of caramel. Here's a picture of my "matcha latte." It was hot so I didn't try it until I made it to Malcom X Park, where I was meeting friends. Was disappointed to taste a lavender flavored coconut milk once it cooled down. I tasted no matcha or caramel and it wasn't made with whole milk as requested. I also had to double back after walking a few steps from the restaurant because the cashier didn't give me a coffee sleeve and it was VERY hot. WILL NOT BE COMING BACK! SAVE YOUR TIME AND MONEY! Also, there's a +$1 charge for each pump of syrup which is ridiculous, especially when they don't even add the syrup I asked for. I got the spinach pastry and then one of trompe l'oeuil fruit dessert. I only got one bc none of the pastries have any price tags on them. I can see why bc one of those fruits costs about $12.99. Were they worth it? IMO, I don't think so. It was fun to eat but even then, I didn't like the inside of mine which was the pear fruit.
