3, so today we were so excited to come and eat. When we entered they told us it's a 20 minute wait, no problem, we decided to wait at bar, but no bartender to pay attention to us, which. No problem, our table was ready by the restrooms. The waitress brings us water right away, asks us what to drink. Yep, 2 beers with olives, shorts, and a half hour later they arrive, then, she comes back to take our order, then we wait an additional 45 minutes for burgers and onion rings. This place is for the beer lover who doesn't like to spend a lot of money. I have been there 4 times now and have had everything from wings to a make my own sandwich. I do have to say the first time I was there their regular fries were kind of a let down and a bit soggy but for the upgrade the other times I got cajun fries... totally worth it. Oh and the boulder sauce was to die for. The burger was good just a bit overdone but not a frozen patty which I hate. The buffalo chicken sandwich was just down right amazing. The only let down on the food at all was the wontons... they hardly had anything in them. I also really like they served beers in their proper glassware and not just in a pint glass no matter what. As being a server I am usually picky about who serves me... that being said the only slow waitress we had was the very first time where it took her 5 mins to just get us waters when it wasn't busy at all. They had good wings with a large variety of sauces, also had the 1/2 lb burger it was ok kinda dry, the sweet potato fries were good but you don't get very many, the regular fries are good, they also have a great build your own burger type menu witch is easy to understand. I use to love this place but was just in there and wait for 10 minuets and never saw a server. People were seated at the booth next to us and were served RIGHT AWAY!! When we said something all we got was a we're sorry and still weren't asked what we wanted for a drink or anything. We walked out. This was absolutely uncalled for and unprofessional. I would give 0 stars if I could. I think they were prejudice against us because We were gay. It was my boyfriend's birthday, and one of us at the table had a license that expired one week ago because he just had his birthday. Due to this whole Covid craziness, Minnesota law states that expired licenses are valid until August. They refused to serve him. I even asked to speak to the manager. I think that if the license is valid for police... it should be valid for restaurant owners. We ended up leaving before we ordered food. Wow! I have never had a better steak sandwich. The bun is warm, fresh, and the mozzarella cheese on it makes it beyond delicious. Service was alright, but not great. Slow to get to us and quick to get us out (it was around 6 so they had a line waiting). Only one round of beers for us. Overall, I recommend the Steak Sandwich. Absolutely great. Great pretzels, cheese curds, beer and service! They have 40 beers on tap so it was intimidating at first, but our bartender Maggy was extremely helpful & knowledgeable on the beers. I got the Topling Goliath twisted and my wife got the pineapple cider. Our bartender also recommended the cheese curds and chicken avocado tacos, which were great. The bar got to be a little busy and crowded but we still got our food fast. We will for sure be coming back for the great service & beer! read more

Please, do yourself a favor and order the jalapeño cheddar wontons. You won't be disappointed. Only issue I've had is that there's always been a wait. Such a neat little place! There are taps all over the walls right as you walk in, giving it a very fun, laid-back, pub-style vibe. Our waitress was lovely. She offered samples of beer, since we weren't sure what to get. I tried the Red Velvet MooJoos (a dark), and while it was rather pleasant, I found it too sweet for my tastes, so I stuck to my Guinness--and happily; you can never go wrong with a Guinness! The Jalapeño Popper Burger was awesome! All that cheesy, spicy (note: spicy for me, isn't really all that spicy) goodness was packed right into the burger and topped with fried onion strings. The burger was juicy, absolutely perfect. The fries were pretty generic, nothing to write home about. But I'm in town for business, and I'm glad we gave this place a try! read more

Absolutely delicious. My co-worker and I went here while on a business trip and so happy that we did. He tried a local stout beer and said it was really good. We had avocado fries and they were amazing. He liked the dipping sauce but I avoided it since it had onions in it. He ordered wings and said they were pretty good. I had the chicken fajita tacos without the fajita seasoning and no onions as I am allergic. They made me an alternate version of the menu item and it was amazing. I would definitely go back when on business and will recommend to my co-workers who travel there as well. read more

I didn't mind the place so much. Living in Denver I am used to paying $5/pint of good quality craft beer. It has room for improvement but for Mankato it's nice to have a place to go that, although this is part of the Grizzly's chain, is not a national chain. I also found it funny one review scoffed at beer in a can. If he/she knew anything about craft beer then they would know many craft breweries are putting beer in a can for good reason: it creates a better seal than a bottle cap and does not let any light in which will cause skunking of the beer. Plus, out here we can't bring bottles to the wilderness so they pack in and pack out a lot easier than glass. Thanks for serving good beers for when I visit my friends and family. read more

They have so many selections, including different kinds of burgers stuffed with many different things. My favorite is the jalapeño cream cheese stuffed burger. The appetizers are also delicious. I normally love this place. Great service, love the wings, prices are decent. Dinner tonight, however, was a disappointment. I got the burger/fries/shake dinner for $10.99. Except it came to $15. Apparently cheese, bacon (I get this one) and even mayo are extra. Burger was ok. I've had better, but I've had worse. The shake, however - skip it. Had an ashy flavor. I've had better shakes at Perkins, and even McDonalds. After this meal, I left full, more broke than I had anticipated, and disappointed. I'll be back again, based on past experiences. The food was decent. The service was absolutely terrible. They were not busy at all. We (two people) waited 47 minutes for burgers. They also gave us different sides than we ordered. They forgot to place in our cheese curds. We got them an hour and 15 minutes after we ordered them. It took them over 30 minutes after we were done eating to get a check. Very frustrating. read more

Is there a zero star option? We went there for my friends birthday, and the servers were very rude to our group of five. They gave us the wrong order of cheese curds, which might I mention aren't even cheese curds, but actually blocks of fried cheese. They also messed up my friends burger. These are simple mistakes, but the server never came to check up on us until our meal was done and we had been waiting for the bill. Their response and service to our party left us all in a bad mood. Don't understand the appeal. Sure they have a nice selection of subpar microbrews. The apps were actually pretty decent, but the rest of the food was awful. Burger was overcooked meatloaf that didn't even fit the bun. It was thin like a white castle burger with a monstrous bun so all you taste is bread. We went out with friends last night to the Boulder Tap House. It was very crowded and the atmosphere was really alive and welcoming. We tried the deep fried pickles and the cheese wontons, they were both very good. The pickles were nice and had a good kick to them, the batter was really great and the chipotle ranch dipping sauce is very good. I had a burger with a side of french onion steak soup. The soup tasted a little watery, but the burger was great. The funniest part of the evening- my husband and I registered on Touch Tunes to play the jukebox. He played me my favorite Led Zeppelin song, Kashmir, so I logged in and played him Whole Lotta Love for Valentine's Day. One of the managers came over right after my song started and with a remote changed the song. I asked the waitress why he did that, and he came over to apologize, said that someone at the bar complained about the music, and since it is usually just playing random songs he just went to change the song and didn't realize someone had played it. He gave me $5 for changing my song, so that was wickedly nice of him! So basically, I would just beware that some of the crowd there is not into Zeppelin... :) Also, Touch Tunes is tricky- no one sees you go up to the jukebox to put money in, so I guess no one realizes people are paying for songs. But hey, that's another thing I thought- if you are somewhere with a jukebox and you don't like the songs that are playing, the thing is that _you_ can put your own money in and listen to what you like. My husband and I have spent 5 evenings at The Boulder Tap House, each time we sat at the bar, sampled beer and eat dinner. Here's my assessment: PROS: Excellent selection of American microbrews on tap with nice beer list to read up on about each selection. Tip: the higher the alcohol content the lower the volume you get, the glasses get smaller but the price is the same. Not sure how I feel about that but doesn't bother me enough to list as a con, but they don't explain that to you unless you ask. Highly recommend the fish tacos - BEST I've eaten in my life, consistently delicious. Fresh cod that is NOT deep fried with some ah-maze-ing sauce, fresh squeeze of lime and you're good to go. Shrimp tacos are also to die for. Inviting lively atmosphere, there are TV's but this does not have the atmosphere of a sports bar. Saw a comment about the waitresses not knowing anything about beer, this is unfortunate but the bar tenders know it all, suggest sitting at the bar which is very nice, clean and well waited upon! Huge private lot so parking is NO problem. CONS: generally limited supply of foreign brews on tap, this I consistently find disappointing. Would love to see more European brews! How about some from Central and South America? Can be loud at times. Wait times for a seat are long by 6, go after 8 to get right in. Wine selection is limited, wine glasses suck but hey - this is a beer place! :) Overall highly recommend. read more
